The cover was just as I expected. Light weight, durable and easy to care for. The oy recommendation I can .American is to add velcro/hook&loop fasteners to keep the top of the cover in place. I have found over the years that animals naturally respond favorably to a darkened environment. They are more relaxed and calm. Babies in a crate with natural, artificial, even greatly reduced lighting remain alert, peering into the darkness. They often whine, whimper, or bark, but cover the crate and within minutes, they unwind and are off to sleep. For this reason, I have put dark cloth or a blanket over my crates. The crate had obviously been used and returned. The metal was rusted in places and the plastic bottom tray was dirty. When I decided to return it, It was a challenge to get it back in the box. When I took it back to the store, I asked about a discount and received 15% off (the tax). I had previously bought one that was marked down by 50% because the box was damaged. I was quite disappointed in the whole experience. Apparently the merchandise was supposed to be checked if the box was damaged and that wasn’t done in this case.Janice
I've owned dogs for the last 40 years. I've used MidWest wire crates for my last 4 dogs. This iCrate didn't disappoint. It's sturdy and and easy to put up and take down. I use them when I travel with my dogs too. My dogs only use their crates for sleeping in at night or napping in during the day. During the day, their crate doors are left open. I close the dogs in at night. I don't have an issue with my dogs trying to escape from their crates, so I can't speak to whether or not this would be sturdy enough for a dog that's determined to get out of their crate. These crates are more than sturdy enough for my miniature Schnauzer, Havanese, and Wirehaired Pointing Griffon. All three of my dogs love their MidWest iCrates, as did my previous dog! They go in them voluntarily and when told to "crate up". My only concern with the current crate I ordered is that that one of the latches isn't lined up quite right so it's a bit tight when closing the crate door. I bent it slightly and it works much better. I haven't had that issue with any of the previous MidWest crates I've used. I'm a MidWest crate fan.Eddie09
We bought this in April 2022 for our Rhodesian Ridgeback mix puppy. He was weeks old when we rescued him. He was a Parvo pup and barely survived, so rest and his own quiet space was highly recommended for recovery. We first used the divider which was great. However, as he grew, so did his strength. It definitely is not strong enough for large dogs. Even for short amounts of time. At the moment he is 6 months and 60 pounds. Thankfully he did not get out nor hurt himself! Putting this together – I would say that the plastic is a good construction, the clasps and screws are great, and the metal bars for the windows look to be a decent quality. They ship you extra clips and screws in case you have a problem. I personally don't like the wheels (on any crate), so I'll leave those off and the pet bowl might be okay if I was sending the dog via airplane. The Large size isn't very large in my opinion. A dog should be able to stand up, turn around and lay down. I think this crate is more like a 50 pound max than 75. My 10 week old Golden Female Retriever will likely outgrow this kennel in 6 months and be in that weight range. In a way I'd like to exchange it for a bigger one.RichH

The kennels worked great; they are airy and comfortable, and big enough to fit a small litterbox, which I could not fit in regular cat carriers. I carried them to the car in sturdier small carriers, then transferred them to these kennels. The product is good quality and it met my expectations. We bought a larger crate 6 months ago that housed 3 small dogs and 2 cats for 3 days while we drove across country. For several months the 3 dogs shared it at night (the cats found another place to sleep). Recently, we decided to separate the 2 older dogs from the younger and bought 2 of the medium sized crates. The "travel crate" was folded and put away in the laundry room for the next time we travel with all our babies, and we stacked the 2 medium crates. I was so excited about the fantastic sales price on the crates! Ordered an i Crate in the large size, before I did the research. After research I realized I ordered the lowest-grade crate, not what I wanted. Tried to cancel the order to reorder the higher-grade Ultima Pro. After two calls, they did send a cancel through to see if it would work. (It didn't.) I didnt want to risk waiting and missing the sale so I ordered the Ultima Pro, had to be medium, because large was out of stock. Just opened it and, like others, got one that can't even be put together because it's so out of square. It can't even be bent into place it's so bad. This is one reason I HATE buying online. I would have rated the cage with 5 stars but unfortunately there were a few bends in the frame from shipping when it arrived. After carefully straightening that bends the cage is just what I wanted. It was already pretty much assembled you just had to unfold the sides, attach the wheels and top then tighten the bolts holding the sides to the bottom. This is a very large kennel. It's perfect for a German Shepherd, Husky, Lab size dog etc. Very easy to assemble. The door works flawlessly. I got this because I have 2 senior dogs a Retriever and a Collie mix and needed something to secure them in the back of my suv when taking them to the vet or groomer. I found that it is much safer to transport them this way than to let them be on the back seat unsecured. I finally have the right size kennel to do so. This is a perfect kennel for dogs like labs/retrievers. There's enough room for most dogs that size to stand up. I do wish these kinds of kennels had a few extra slots on the bottom so it wasn't quite so dark. It's very easy to put together. First a foremost, I was really upset that I had to shell out over a hundred bucks for a dog cage. But since we have a brute escape artist that kept destroying her old kennel and hurting herself during the process. With this kennel, it has stopped all escapes, no signs of giving or stress. She's made it her home even when she doesn't need to be there.it comes with removable caster wheels for easy relocation, or take them off and leave it stationary while cutting a few inches off the overall height,The door is easily removable and attaches back on in a matter of a few seconds. We were worried about the meshed ground and her getting her toes caught in it, but I comes with a removable tray that's meant for the bottom, but we placed it over and that's her floor. The tree is just a tad under 5 foot. Not a problem for our little living room. The LED lights can be very bright–but you can unplug the LED lights! It still has 8 different light mod's even with the LED's unpluged. The longer branches on the bottom will not hold heavy ornaments. Light weight ornaments and garland is fine. It really is pretty even with out ornaments. The fiber optics make it a very colorful tree, even in the day time. The LED's are to brite for our liking. Not a problem for us we just unpluged them! Hey it's a 60 dollar tree. We are happy with it. You will have to fold down all of the branches they are not hinged like some of the higher dollar trees. It filled out nice! I suggest you review this item after you have used it at least 3-5 times. The front zipper no longer works and came off the track. No way to reattach. Same with the side zipper – but I literally opened the side zipper today for the first time and then saw it was open (ater thinking I closed it) – it's really very cheaply made, and should be priced accordingly. I use this for travel, so I literally have taken it on two trips – set it up at my boyfriend's house. But I bought it 4 months ago so I'm sure petco won't exchange or return. Good travel crate, lightweight and packs into nice slim bag. Our dog is crate trained so does not try to get out of the crate at night. However, if he did I might be a little less excited about this crate as it's fairly thin material and only zippers for the doors. There is mesh on 3 sides of the crate and top for good breathability and airflow and i was a little worried it wouldn't feel dark/secure enough for our pup but he did fine. For the price it's a good travel option if you don't have room in the vehicle for a crate while driving, just don't expect it to hold your dog in vs provide comfort for him as a den.M425
I purchased this crate after our previous soft sided crate was accidentally damaged in the garage. This crate is extremely well made but incredibly lightweight – perfect for your crate trained adult dog. I noticed several of the lower scoring reviews mentioned they had puppies. This crate is not for puppies or non-crate trained adult dogs. ( No soft sided crate is designed to contain puppies/untrained adults ). You need a metal crate or a hard sided plastic air travel crate for a puppy/untrained adult. However if you have a crate trained dog – this one is very nice and also attractively finished. Renforced corners, durable zippers, and plenty of thicker coated mesh for ventilation and visibility. 3 access panels ( front/side/top) and it includes a crate pad. This is well worth the money if you have a large dog you need to make sure is going to be contained. We bought several different brands in the past and it seemed like she would destroy them and be waiting for us to return home so she could hand us the pieces. Not so with this product. I would give it 10 stars if I could. Super easy to assemble. Large enough for my 130 pounds Great Pyrenees. (Before I get a response as to why I have a Great Pyrenees in this kennel.) The dog is a beautiful dog and I have had people try to steal her. If I leave her in the house she is smart enough to unlock and open doors to try and follow me. She does go to every store that will allow her, but there are times I have to shop for groceries and this is the brief time she is kenneled.
So we have a bit of a wild dog (she's still a pup), a total wrecker. But my God, she was so happy to have this cage as a home. She really likes it. It is definitely sturdy, so when your dog needs a timeout, you can put him/her in there and you don't have to worry about them breaking out. We added a bed as the base, with a plastic covering (kind of like a tarp) so the bed stays clean. So she is super comfy in there. We've been potty training her, so we were worried that she would go to the bathroom in there, but so far she has not, and the first thing she does when released from her home is to run up our hill to use the toilet (metaphorically of course!). Great investment.
I was super anxious about finding a new kennel for my German shepherd. He is an escape artist and I was scared about him trying to escape and getting injured on some cheap material. Knock on wood, he has not escaped since I got it. He actually likes going in the kennel when he doesn't even have to. I would just say switch out the metal rack for the actual flat surface tray. I would never have my dog on that type of rack alone and he tears up any beds I put in there. I wish all of the wheels were lockable but I ended up just taking them off because he can move it even with both wheels locked. Highly recommend so far and worth the money for his safety. Make sure the top is bolted when you tighten the bolts on the side though or it won't line up. Highly recommend for any 80 pound escape artist like mine
