I buy Redbarn Mammoth Bones regularly for my 2 large dogs. They absolutely go crazy and the bones last my Bernese Mtn. dog and Newfie about 2 days before they lose interest. After that the used bones go into the "bone pile" and I order more. These bones are HUGE and will last for months. In between orders I pull from our bone pile and both dogs go back to their "old" bones and continue to chew and break them apart to get the marrow. Not as interesting as when they first arrive and the dogs can pull off the dried exterior meaty covering, but the bones are durable and will last for months. I have an aggressive chewer and this is the only thing that has lasted more than 5 minutes.He LOVES it. The only downside to it (and honestly it's not a huge deal or deal breaker) is how messy it is. Pieces will flake or chunk off and it's greasy. He does lick up whatever has fallen off. It does have an odor. Not foul, but it smells like smoked meat. Don't know why there are quite a few bad reviews for this. This bone was/is awesome for my dog. She's part golden retriever and american indian dog roughly 55lbs. She loves this bone. We've had it for a solid 2 months and she still hasn't been able to chew it all up. Other bones takes her just a matter of days/hours but not only is this only taking a long time to get through she loves it. We have been using these for our dogs for three years. We have 3 black Labs among our family members. One pure, one Lab/Shepherd and one Lab/Great Dane. They are all big chewers with powerful jaws. This is the only bone that lasts for any of them. The Dane mix finishes it off in about a month and the pure bred and shepherd mix can go 2-3 months. I wash it with Dawn when it arrives so it doesn't stain the carpet. The dogs don't care, they just take it and hide for hours, chewing away. Great product! Love the ship to site feature. This is a ridiculously huge bone! I'm not sure how much bones are, or how big they are, but this is at least a cow's whole leg! It was well coated in whatever it was that drove my dog nuts! This is a good sized bone for large dogs and my dog enjoyed it, but it was listed as long-lasting and that is absolutely not correct. It was gone in less than five minutes. Completely gone. Not worth the price. I need something to keep our dog occupied for at least half an hour and this did not have much bang for the buck.B
My Pitbull loves these bones! I have been buying them for over a year, and they have never made her sick. These Minties Twists Chews Actually solved two problems with our French Bulldog. The first was finding a treat for him that would agree with his sensitive stomach. the second was getting his teeth clean which is a struggle with him. I had pulled out the bag and it was if he knew they were for him. He came right over and sat down . I gave him one, he took it and ran over to his pad and ate it. they are the perfect size for him and because they are twists they give him different angles to chew while cleaning his teeth.He was done in a few minutes. I had my daughter sniff his breath without telling her what flavor they were to see if they worked. She did notice a vanilla scent to his breath. The treats seemed to agree with his sensitive stomach as well. My pups recently started eating Minties Twists and they love them! I love them because they are helping to get rid of their doggie breath and leaving a more pleasant minty scent in their mouth. They have just the righty amount of whatever the "extra" is on and in a bone (marrow, skin?) not enough and my dogs not as interested, too much and he might get a belly ache. One aggressive chewer and one a very light licker. (1) First order contained six bones with sufficient dried tendon; however, remainder of the bones in the box contained little to none. (Sometimes, my local pet store will carry these RedBarn bones and I noticed that they had much more dried tendon, than what came directly from your company.) Disappointing. (2) The light licker actually had a bone that cleanly split length wise. (No splitters!) I am hoping that this next shipment is better. (3) Also, I clean out the marrow (with a knife & wipe inside with paper towels) before giving out the bones. (4) When the pups have cleaned the bones to the point of being shinny, I smear the inside (on both ends and as far inside as possible) with "doggy" cheese or peanut butter and I get another treat for them.Ann M.
