As I previously stated I bought two of these harnesses in two different sizes. A small and a medium as I was not sure which would work. The small is a great fit for my 13 lb Shih Tzu. But this is summer and she is shaved down. I am going to use the medium size for winter to go over her sweaters and coats. The look of the harness is great however the material cannot stand up to chewing which is not covered under warranty. Rugged ,tough , durable harness . Works like it should . It takes a little time to get a proper adjustment , unless your dog is growing it's a one time thing . This harnass lasted exactly three minutes. I put it on my dog, adjusted it, and she chewed it for a second and it completely tore. The company acknowledges that it can not withstand even a quick nip from your dog. Ridiculously poor quality. Their answer is for you to spend another 12.99 for a warranty to get another harnass which will do the same thing. Awful product that is expensive. Dismissive and unethical customer service. I really like the product. The two connection points give me more control over my reactive dog. A few months after purchase I noticed some of the nylon was unraveling near one of the box stitches. I contacted the company and provided pictures and they replaced it right away. Great product and great service.
Just know that this isn’t a miracle product that will completely stop your dog from pulling. It’s not a replacement for training. YOU as the owner have to teach your dog proper leash manners. But if you want more control, or you have a reactive dog, I definitely recommend this.Rachel Cormier

I am more or less happy with this product but think the velcro that goes around the front of the chest is on wrong as I have had to fasten it behind rather than in front. It is ok now I have adjusted it a lot of times to get it fitted right. Apart from that, this is a strong product and helps to control my dog well. The rest of the harness is great. My dog is a yorkie mix, 11 pounds. Based on his measurements I ordered a small harness, however, while the neck strap was the right size, the chest strap was too tight. He must be right at 18” where this harness hits on his rib cage. I returned it for the medium. This one the is too loose and cannot be tightened enough to be comfortable. The chest piece is pretty bulky and sags between his legs, making walking uncomfortable. His frame is definitely better suited for the small size. It’s a shame there isn’t a little bit of overlap in the length of the straps as I really liked the features of this harness and it is good quality. Unfortunately I can’t return the harness because I removed the tags before realizing the larger size wouldn’t work.

I had been looking for a soft harness for our adopted senior English Cocker Spaniel, something that would give her totally freedom in her shoulders and not mat her lovely fur. Favorite things its super soft, flexible, washable, fits comfortably, stylish, does not mat her fur, not a step in harness, and allows her totally room to zoom with her shoulders. Cons it runs a tad bit small my lass is on the more petite side of English Cocker spaniels, at about 27 pounds I got her a medium and when adjusted it fits her quiet comfortably but if you Cocker was any larger say 30-35 lbs I would definitely get a large harness. I love the back leash clip haven't used the front clip as she is a lady on walks. That being said this is not super heavy duty so if you have a really strong puller I don't know if would hold up for a long time but my lass is gentle so I expect it to hold up very well. The medium Kurgo harness fits my 23 pound dog well. The harness itself is incredibly sturdy – I was actually surprised by how “heavy” it is. The blue color is nice and the reflective material is an added bonus. The harness slips on over the dog’s head then buckles closed on each side. So far, it has been very easy and fast to put it on and take it off my dog. The leash clips are positioned in such a way (middle of back) that makes it easy to walk the dog without her choking herself (a problem we have with our old harness) from pulling. The harness is a bit stiff, however, so it’s not good for car rides where dog needs to lie down for long periods. The only concern we have is the loops to clip the leash to don’t seem as sturdy as the rest of the harness. The are a thinner aluminum that bends easily. I love Kurgo products and think they are great quality, but was disappointed in this harness. If you have a barrel chested dog and want to attach a leash to the front D ring (my pup is a puller, so that was the whole reason we bought this), I wouldn't recommend this harness. I have a 14 month old standard poodle (45 lbs) and we bought a medium as she fit smack dab in the middle of those measurements. Unfortunately, the harness just doesn't fit deep-chested dogs. The neck opening is weirdly large and can't be tightened very much so after adjusting the harness to fit her, the front D ring ended up right between her front legs. We couldn't attach a leash to the front ring because she would stumble over it while we walked. Seems like Kurgo could fix this pretty easily by just moving the front D ring higher to be closer to the neck opening, but unfortunately not easy to fix/solve the issue at home. My boyfriend has the Nylon Reflective Journey Air Dog harness (M), which looks like this harness mixed with the Tru-fit harness kind of. I have this Journey Air Dog harness (M) for my GSD/husky mix. We have a couple of issues with this specific model of the Journey harness. She has an athletic build with a pretty deep chest that is also narrow as heck, and due to the longer padding on the top of the chest piece, I'm unable to adjust it enough so that it fits her well. It renders the front D-ring useless, as the harness will pull to the side of her body loosely. Unfortunately, sizing down would mean that it would not be able to fit around the deepest part of her ribcage. The other issue I have with this harness is that I'm nervous it chaffs the back of her armpit area. It's pretty snug up against the backs of her legs–maybe even too snug. I would size up, but then that would exacerbate the issue with the front. I'm almost certain it's an unpleasant experience for her as she runs away when I so much as pick up the harness. I brought up the fact that my boyfriend has this type of harness (but a different/earlier model) because I am able to adjust that one well to my dog. None of the issues present in my harness are present in the other one, likely because of the smaller chest padding. I would go to the Tru-Fit harness for my pup, but we go hiking a bunch, and the handle on the back is a must-have. What is probably the most upsetting is that I cannot find this other model of harness in stock and in the size we need anywhere as of today. I bought this as a lighter weight / easier fit harness than my Ruffwear as I wanted something easier to put on. This harness is very well made and comes in a great range of colours. It has a chest attachment as well as one on the back. The harness secures over the head with a clip either side of the backpiece. No need to lift a leg to fit. The fittings seem very good quality. The adjustment buckles for size are very stiff and it can take a while to get the fit just right. The upside of this is that the harness is secure and I can be confident that the adjusters will not slip. The reflective stitching is also very effective. Size M fits my 23" whippet very well. This has been a Best Buy for our Labrador. We now have complete control when we need it, she cannot pull whilst wearing it, she is able to run around off lead wearing it in complete comfort and happily swims in it too. It also drys quickly. I was looking for a harness that would stop my dog from pulling. When I found this I wasn't sure if it would work but I am please to say it's amazing. Its exceptionally easy to put on and stopped my dog from,pulling straight away. He is a medium sized dog but very strong so I was surprised with the almost instant improvement in his behaviour. He likes the harness and actually puts his head through it himself. My only problem is that unfastening the harness is difficult. I am sure this is only because my hands are deformed and I cannot squeeze the locking device so have to use a tool to do this. I've tried numerous harnesses and never loved any until this one. I have a miniature rat terrier who is 13.5 lbs. He tends to be too big for mediums and way too small for large sizes. Finally, this harness fits perfectly in Medium! There's even a little room to spare in case he gets larger. We wanted to take off pressure from his neck and the v neck design and light weight, soft mesh is great! It's by far the softest one I've ever felt, and I've tried every one at multiple stores. It's so comfortable that it could be left on all the time even in summer since it's so breathable. My dog lives it too! He seems to feel safe and calmer in it like a thunder shirt makes him feel. The first time I took him on a walk he seemed to feel "free". He was so happy to pounce around without worrying about a jerk in his neck. We give this one 5 stars!!!! I got this in black, size medium from Amazon. She has a 12" neck and a 19" chest. This harness is adjustable around both neck and chest. My pup has a high chase drive and will sometimes pull suddenly. I like that the x-shape doesn't put as much pressure on her throat when she pulls, and the double d-rings and buckle closure feel very secure for her leash. My dog learned to step into the harness on her own if we hold it up for her, too. Very good quality materials that will last a long time.lianna.b

As any husky owner knows, they love pulling, and backing out of harnesses. Huskies put Houdini to shame with their amazing ability to escape from collars and harnesses. After trying a zillion harnesses for our 6th Siberian Husky, we stumbled upon the Goat Trail Tactical and threw our money down in hopeful anticipation. The buckles are amazing, and although the back plastic buckles are stiff to get on and off, that's EXACTLY what we need. The front metal buckles are secure and strong. The straps allow us to snug that harness up tight (not too tight, 2 fingers under) in all the right places to hold it secure without her strangling. The leash loop connectors are metal, securely sewn in and instill confidence that it would take a major catastrophe for them to pull out. Having the front connector allows us to connect a leash on the back and front, limiting her ability to drag us down the street like a sled. The rubber handle on the back… genius! Most harnesses have a flap of material that is difficult to grab, and cuts into your hand, twists, and is virtually worthless, but not the rubber handle on the SSGLex. Easy to grab, sturdy to hold, and perfectly positioned to get control when that suicidal squirrel darts in front of your very prey driven young husky. Getting on and off is a breeze with various ways to go about it: either shove the head through and snap the back up, or one leg through over the top snap neck and back in. Even with young husky totally freaking out because she knows the harness means GO TIME, it's quick and easy to buckle up. The little backpacks are cute, but until she gets out of her velociraptor stage of ripping things to shreds, we took them off, and also moved the included Goat Trail patch on the back. Love all the mollie loops and velcro for various and sundry things. We purchased a Medium because she has some more growing to do and it fits very nicely with plenty of room for adjustments later on. My only suggestions is to include the little strap loops for the back like there are on the front. She took to it well, and seems comfortable enough that she doesn't mind wearing it. She is NOT happy about the front leash restricting her ability to cripple us with her pulling, but she'll get over that. Finally a harness that gives us the confidence and security of knowing she won't back out of it and escape, we can walk her without being dragging down the street (the neighbors are somewhat disappointed that we found this solution and no longer gather on their porches each walk time for entertainment), and is comfortable to her as well. Job well done, I highly recommend this harness to all of my husky owning friends.P.B.
I wanted something more comfy and secure, with a no-pull front ring for my APBT. She’s 65lbs but pulls extremely hard when excited. We moved from a Kong brand harness that I trust with my life but this one is so much more comfy for us both. My concern were the two side clips being plastic which I’m not used to, but I haven’t had any problems, and it doesn’t feel loose after taking it off and on about 30 times. I bought their leash too and it has made walking a breeze as well. Doesn’t make the “bunny runs” as brutal for my shoulder. I’ve only used the front ring with my rope leash, and the no-pull leash with the back ring. Not sure which method is better but both have put me at ease. Worth the money for me.Taylor M.
Harness is top quality, heavy duty and very secure. A world of difference walking my 9 month old highly energetic 60 lb Australian/German Shepherd pup now. Still some training to do but the strong pulling quickly subsides on our walks now and when he does pull he doesn't have the leverage so he's still very manageable. Harness couldn't have come sooner as my boy literally pulled me off my feet a couple days before the harness arrived. Detachable backpack is very cool too. Will easily carry treats and waste bags with bungee strap on top perfect for a small water bottle. Will work great for long hikes up here in the mountains. I would definitely recommend getting the bungee leash as well. I ordered this a few days after the backpack and so glad I did. It also made a huge difference. I have a pit/lab mix, and he hasn't been on many walks, even though he needs to to cut down a few extra lbs. I looked at the sizing chart, and he was right in between the 2 sizes, so I went with the bigger one because I wanted him to be comfortable. I dont know if size had anything to do with it, but I couldn't get it to lay flat on him. It comes with several adjustment spots, so I can make sure it fits him good. He seems to really like it, as compared to other harnesses we have used with him. The material is nice and padded, it seemed very comfortable for my dog. The leash attachment is also in a really good place to pull at his chest and not his neck. In the time using this, I have not noticed any issues with the zipper or with the quality. When we rescued our Westie/poodle mix, he had never walked on a leash and fought us to the point that we had to carry him a few blocks and then try to leash walk. This Stash and Dash harness is great. It is so easy to take off and on that Remy doesn't seem to notice. When I use the hook at the bottom of the harness he stops pulling and tugging. This is a great harness because it is breathable and doesn't make my dog too hot. It also packs up into a small package that can be attached to a bag by the included caliber clip. You can also pack snacks and a little food in the pouch while your pup is wearing it. It also has nice metal clips at the chest and the rear of the front of the harness under the pouch. I would recommend this harness to anyone. Love the double rings on the neck. The double snap buckles make putting it on a breeze and the 5 areas to adjust are great! This is especially true when you have a broad chested dog…the chest strap on most harnesses is too short and that causes the side straps to rub on the dogs front legs. This harness is beyond reasonable in pricing….far far cheaper than most pet store harnesses and far better made. This harness was recommended to me. It's being used on a rottie for tracking. The person who recommended it has used one for years and it still looks like new. As mentioned, based on the construction I think this will last a good long time. Shipping is extremely reasonable. I chose basic ground shipping for all of 5.00 and received this harness in 2 days. Unbelievable. Thank you petsafe for offering this extremely well fitted harness at a great price.
It is also possible to clip the leash to the front of the harness. A second lead can be connected to the hook on the back for a really strong puller. I like this harness better than the "Easy Walk" because it can be fitted better and quicker. Unlike the "Easy Walk" a dog can not slip out of it if they pull away from you. You also don't have to attach it to the regular collar as a back up if your dog slips out of it. I think it also fits better behind the front legs.Betty

Very effective harness for a small dog. It is lightweight, easily adjustable, and has reflective borders on the edges. I use the space under the latch to lift him up in the car. He has walked over 1000 miles in this harness and it is still in useable condition. My dog weighs 10 pounds and the XS fits well.bluedragonfly
If I could give this harness zero stars, I would in a heartbeat. I purchased this less than a month ago, and tonight it broke with a 35 pound husky puppy in size medium (supposedly for dogs up to 50 lbs). One strap broke and he was instantly out of the harness and off he went. It was one of the scariest moments of my life. Thankfully we were able to call him over to us after sprinting to catch up to him, but there is absolutely no reason this should have broken. We only use it for public outings and like I said, have owned it for less than a month and made sure to purchase the proper size. It is incredibly panic inducing to watch your 5 month old puppy sprint away from you after you put him in something that is supposed to be safe and comfortable for him. As you can see in the attached photos, it looks like one flimsy string was holding this part of the harness together. Overall, pretty disappointed and hoping I just received a faulty product as no one should have to worry about their brand new harness breaking.rvchel
Not recommended my dog was able to get loose 3 x’s. I made sure it was on properly. The second time I double checked that the harness was fitted and nice and snug. By the 3rd time I gave up on it and threw away the harness. Waste of money. Ended up buying a similar product at the pet store that actually worksOphie87
