After I took the cot out of the box, I set it up inside in front of some large windows where I know my dog likes to sun himself. He was not sure what to make of it but I invited him up on it and the rest is history. He know uses it daily. It's plenty big to stretch out on and he acts like he is the king from high on his "perch". I am looking forward to using this outside when it warms up because the elevated bed should keep my dog cooler (with the air flow under it) but meanwhile it is making a nice spot inside the house. plastic parts have nubs that stop the side bars, when I pushed ( not very hard) the plastic piece snapped and broke. I found a way to fix it with long splints and zip ties, but very disappointed it broke. also, instructions say the middle legs should be facing in, but the middle support bar won't fit, so one one middle leg has to be on the outside of the frame and the other has to be on the outside of the frame. In addition the material in the middle sags, even without a dog laying on it. Glad I have small dogs. They do love it, but will eventually have to replace the zip ties and wooden splints, as I do have a chewer.Lila

They have always used more traditional type beds and this was a totally new experience. First of all, it needed to be assembled. When it arrives you see all kinds of tubes that need to be connected to set up the bed. The directions say it should take about 20 minutes to assemble for 1 person. We did not find that to be true and the instructions are not as clear as I believe they could be. It took my husband and myself well over an hour to get this bed right. Lining up the pieces and getting the connecters in tight was much more work than we anticipated. As far as how my dogs like it, one is still afraid of it after having it over a week and the other likes it pretty well. So the reaction to it was a bit mixed. I bought this last summer for my senior dog, thinking it would be easier on his joints and also keep him cooler when he was resting on the back porch. It took some muscle, but I was able to put it together as directed without any tools. This review is written 6 months after purchase. It’s very stable and holding up like a charm. I’ve stood on the stairs and main part; it held my weight (130 lbs) and wasn’t wobbly. It was extremely easy to put together. Plan on an hour give or take. Personally I didn’t like the stair pads that were included. They’re scratchy and slide a little bit on the stairs. Instead I bought two bath mats with rubber backs. One for the stairs and one for the main sleeping part. This keeps it secure when she runs up and down. If you’re worried about your dog being scared of it, don’t be. Mine hated it at first and all it took was a week or so of yummy treats to encourage her. Now she sleeps up there all day while I wfh. I recommend this product, but with the bath mat modification for safety.Lucy

This is probably a 5 star item based on quality, but I was disappointed that the long poles don't break down, making this longer than any of my Helinox human cots, which makes packing a bit more complicated. I bought the elevated dog caught for our family dog because it gets extremely hot where we live and after a walk in the evening Roscoe is extremely hot and he’s desperately trying to find a way to cool down. So I purchased the cot in order for him to lay on it to have air flowing under him to cool. When I assembled it and put it in the family room, he immediately went and laid on it understanding that it was for him. It was humorous to see that he immediately personalized it by dragging his blankets onto it to give it his scent as well as him rolling around on it, once he figured out how to get comfortable on it it was nice to see that he used it regularly. It’s extremely well-made and the cot portion and durable aluminum legs are typical Helinox quality and I believe dog claws will have no effect on it. I also love that it can be taken apart easily and taken with you to go camping or other places where you need a way to elevate your dog to be off the hot ground or the cold ground. Love these, the dogs, love them!!!! They have there bed that came with it and it has the double cover so it stays dry if there are accidents, but I added there pet beds on top they push them on or off if they want them there they love these. The only reason I'm giving it three stars is because it was defective when I received it, which is something that should have never been allowed to be shipped. I got the K&H Pet Products – K&H Elevated Cozy Cot Pet Bed and I couldn't be happier. My dog always wants to sit next to me or on me. Now he is in his little bed and I xan pet him, comfortably from my chair while watching TV. This os a perfect bed for a smaller dog or cat. My dog in the pictute is around 24 lb miniature poodle, he fits fine. I wouldn't recommend it for a much bigger dog. The bed has two textures. The gray is a strong smooth fabric very strong like canvas or denim. The light gray is soft and padded. It open up like a folding chair but, it locks into place so its very safe. And it isnt super high so a small dog can get in and out on his own. The bottom feels rubberized for water proofing. This bed works well inside and outside. I am pleased with and will be using it. I have several beds for my dog throughout my apartment at least one in every room, so he can sleep comfortably. I like this bed a lot since its easy to move and looks easy to clean. As a fur baby mommy I always want them to be as comfortable as possible. During the winter months I don’t like that they have to lay on the floor. Well that’s all over now. My fur baby’s have been using the elevated cozy cat bed for the past couple days and I tell you they live it. This pet bed sits off the floor and is made with very plush material. We purchased these from Cabela’s in the past, but they stopped selling them. Our boys love them! Our boys are 55lbs basset/dachshund and 110lbs redbone coonhound/lab. Unlike the other types of material, this doesn’t get dirty, stinky, and gross from boys eating and lounging outside. We just rinse them down occasionally and it’s like new again. I tried buying a different brand, but fabric ended up wearing and tearing. I also had to break bed down often to take off cover to bleach wash out the “dog” smell. Our boys were so happy when their new/old beds were delivered. They naturally will eventually wear out with use. Needed a second cot for 10 year old Gordon Setter, she had outgrown her original. I like that this one has the mesh base. Makes it breathable in warm weather, plus I can add a blanket in colder weather. Madison can now stretch out and not hang over the edges. It is high enough off the ground but not too high. Our cot style dog beds broke after about 5 years not to shabby considering they were free. After much research ordered one of these. When we uncolapsed it was a little worred a little more square then the one's we are use to! No worries works well. Dogs fight over whose gonna sleep on it! Our 95lb lab mix fits very well on it. After I took the cot out of the box, I set it up inside in front of some large windows where I know my dog likes to sun himself. He was not sure what to make of it but I invited him up on it and the rest is history. He know uses it daily. It's plenty big to stretch out on and he acts like he is the king from high on his "perch". I am looking forward to using this outside when it warms up because the elevated bed should keep my dog cooler (with the air flow under it) but meanwhile it is making a nice spot inside the house. I bought this last summer for my senior dog, thinking it would be easier on his joints and also keep him cooler when he was resting on the back porch. It took some muscle, but I was able to put it together as directed without any tools. He didn't use it a lot, but I was pleased to see him on it occasionally, when it was particularly hot or cold outside. But yesterday the plastic piece that connects the side edge to the middle support leg sheared off. So after about 9 months of very light use, it is broken and unfixable. I really was excited to try my Lucky Dog Elevated Pet Bed Cot when it arrived. I wanted to see how the dogs would like it. They have always used more traditional type beds and this was a totally new experience. First of all, it needed to be assembled. When it arrives you see all kinds of tubes that need to be connected to set up the bed. The directions say it should take about 20 minutes to assemble for 1 person. We did not find that to be true and the instructions are not as clear as I believe they could be. It took my husband and myself well over an hour to get this bed right. Lining up the pieces and getting the connecters in tight was much more work than we anticipated. As far as how my dogs like it, one is still afraid of it after having it over a week and the other likes it pretty well. So the reaction to it was a bit mixed. To be fair, the dog who is afraid of it has a tendency to be a bit wimpy about things in general. The dog who likes it really doesn't sleep on it much, she just likes sitting on it to look out the window. The material is canvas like and I am not sure she finds it that comfortable to lay on, plus the middle kind of sinks down a bit and is not supportive. I tried putting on a blanket on it and she does seem to like that better. She will lay on it from time to time. Overall, I wouldn't neccesarily recommend this bed. It is just okay in my opinion.

It's a so-so PURCHASE for the price compared to the high-cost brands. The metal frame is light-weight and the canvas is medium-weight. The material sags slightly and my dogs are not flat when they lay on it. I purchased an extra large for a small/15 lbs and medium/40 lbs dog to share because they refuse separate anything and for space considerations. You'll need a large floor space, so you don't trip over frame corners in walk area. My dogs will not lay on it for extended time; they prefer the floor or their cheap dog pillows. I tried adding a soft, fluffy, over-sized blanket, but it didn't improve their use of the bed. The manufacturing quality of the bed is great! All parts were in perfect condition. That's a rare thing anymore, so I'd give them 5 stars on manufacturing. ASSEMBLY was a big pain. It took a lot of strategy to get the screws to drive in straight. DELIVERY was about 2 weeks using standard. The openings of the box were in bad shape upon delivery. Fortunately, the tape kept it from losing contents. This is a great bed for any pets. I used it on my dogs so they can lie elevated above the floor should they chose too. If you have a kenneled dog, this would be great for them. Gets them off the floor. Cooler in summer and warmer in winter. I have several other beds that are similar, but nowhere near as good a price as these. My sister saw mine and will be ordering some for her dogs. Really well made at a very good price. Very happy. It is possible for the dog to chew the corners, if they are VERY determined to do so, but for dogs that are not serious chewers, I would call this a chew resistant bed. I own several elevated cot beds – I foster a lot of dogs and I have 4 small dogs of my own. I've gone through about 20 coolaroo brand cots because they just aren't sturdy enough and I have to retighten the screws on those like a million times a month with constant use. I bought this brand on sale just to see what the difference would be… this is WAY better. I've had for about a month now and with daily use of 6 different dogs, it still looks brand new and hasn't gotten loose at all! I gave away a new bed like this to my mom who has a pitbull with hip displascia. I adopted a 5.6 year old dobi who is now 11 and she needed help. SHE LOOOOVVVVEEESS her bed!!! She takes her time getting in but now has it down to an art. Getting out she pops both front legs down and gingerly eases the hind ones slowly one at a time. She positions herself so her front paws flip down and her head rests on top of the edge and bolts up proud to survey everyone from her lofty new height. The sweet kicker? Her hair and urine leaks to the floor below! Shazamalama! I sweep a ball of hair daily from UNDER the bed and dab the wet spots. She distains her second bed which I do not advise buying which is by the same company if you have an incontinent dog. It feels nice but is not plush.
