Bought this for our 7 month old Pyrador puppy, who has already outgrown one house. It was easy to put together, and the sturdist dog house we've ever seen. Plus being insulated is perfect for a cold Indiana winter. She's huge and still growing and loves it. The first night she slept in front of it despite dog treats inside. Second night was cooler, she decided to check it out so the head and front paws went thru the swinging door first, and after she had stood that way for about 5 minutes, walked all the way in, and has loved it ever since. It’s a great doghouse. He’s already tried chewing the top roof corners off but it hasn’t hurt the integrity of the house. He also won’t get in it. I’m not sure why, because he did get in his crate when it was in his dog pen. He’s a 9 month old GSP. I’m hopeful once he reaches adulthood he’ll stop eating it and actually get in it. I’d totally buy it again though. It’s a great doghouse! I just have a strange dog. He also can’t get on top of it because there isn’t any grip and he slides off. That helps with him not jumping out of the 6’ tall pen.
We got this house for a new Boxador puppy so that it can spend most of its time outside. We found it to be a good product. It was easy to put together and does stay much warmer than the outside air. In rainy weather, it stays dry. It is a very large house which would work for a lab or other large dog. No problems with the dog using the door. Only suggestion: add nuts and bolts for the 6 screws. The PlexiDor is a well made item that in my opinion is worth the price. The fit and finish on the unit is excellent and it even has the person's name on it who made it. That's a pretty good sign they take pride in their work. Installation took longer than expected but that was due to my own lack of skill and not having the right tools. It only took one trip to Home Depot to get what I needed. I am really surprised by how airtight it is. The doors close tightly and I feel very little air leakage from it. I have it installed in a basement door at the bottom of stairs and even though a lot of cold air collects in this area the PlexiDor manages to seal well. This is probably the best money I have ever spent. I live in GA where it gets HOT in the summer but this is insulated so well and there are no drafts in the winter. My 2 50ish lb dogs burst through this many times each day and it is indestructible. I don't have to play doorman anymore! I had one issue with the lock and they sent me a new lock mechanism right away, but I was able to fix it in about 15 minutes without needing to replace the whole lock anyway. Word to the wise, do not caulk the door on the inside so that you can remove it if/when you need to change the lock. Also, they sell a track system to add on that allows you to slide the security plate on daily/nightly (instead of screwing it on), which is super convenient and a great design.Jennifer R.

After reading all of the reviews, the VERY common problem is the hinge. This is going to be my 3rd or 4th door and second to purchase (the sizable hole is hard to find a replacement for), most EVERYONE has had the exact same broken and weak point of the hinge. Some of these comments are from long enough ago, you would think that the company would look at the common problems and try and fix the issue. I've had this door for a year now, and after a year of modifying, and remodifying, I give. Simply not a great door for strong dogs. Our doberman broke the door out initially, it was put back in place. The 2nd time he broke it out some of the plastic fasteners broke off. My SO ended up modifying the door with an aluminum strip and all new hardware. It's been broken off several times even with the new modifications. The key backs fall off and we didn't end up using them anyways to begin with. The frame is solid, we got the wall kit which is flimsy and had to seal ourselves but nonetheless it's installed. I'd love to order another model that will fit the already permanent opening. As of current, our heat's turned off until we figure out what to do to fix the door. Purchased the door about a month ago. We have 4 dogs ranging in size from 6.5 lb to 60 lb. All of them use the door even the little guy. The big dog did not need any training at all he instinctively new when it went click he could go! I was concerned about the reviews but it seemed to me that these were all very large dogs by height and the photos of the installs seemed low to me. I would recommend the product. No more getting up two or three times a night. YAAA I installed it myself, granted I am more of a handyman than most, but I am also over the 65 mark +. So I would expect the young bucks to do it even faster. But you do need to have a supply of the D cells. Batteries are not what they used to be and you only get about a month or a little less use. Love it but the white plasric bar on bottom off flap and now it will not seal with a magnet and left inch gap where i ordered this so ot would be tightly sealed. Any advice? I don’t understand why this is sold as “great option” doesn’t make sense…. If I fit this in the tracks and assuming that it’s a perfect fit, The passageway for humans to walk out is wayyyy too small! You need to dedicate a whole sliding patio entrance only for this item, do not have any hopes that you’ll be able to use it to go in and out or carry something outside, you won’t fit thru it!Amosh83

I bought it on line with a few hesitations. It is the only viable option for us with 2 greyhounds that won't use a traditional dog door. It arrived quickly but unfortunately without instructions for the Rfid tags. I installed it using the video supplied which got the basics working. It occasionally struggled to close the door. It took a bit to get to talk to someone (possibly due to covid) but once I could talk to Roger he identified the problem over the phone which I then quickly solved. Although it passed the friction test it needed new rollers on the door. Roger also emailed me the Rfid instructions and now everything works very well. It is worth persevering.Harry V.
