My dog ate this willingly only twice. I've even dipped it meat juice & he will not eat it. If I crush it in his food he rejects the whole bowl. He is not picky at all. so these must taste pretty bad. They are very dry. no idea if they work or not, can't see results if he won't eat them. I can assume the ingredients are medicinal. My Tibetan Spaniel/Chihuahua has a sensitive digestion system. An ER vet doc prescribed Proviable-DC as part of her regimen and she's done well with it since. Bouts of diarhea are very rare now. I used to give these to my dog who had IBD & was very picky. He refused to eat the Fortiflora, as it was flavored. I could sprinkle these right on dry food & he ate it mo problem. My Senior dog 12 year old pug, has IBD Irritable Bowel Disease, secondary to Pancreatitis. I have been giving him Fruitables Digestible Pumpkin in his food for the past three years. I use just a dollop or two. When he has a flair up I add a little bit more to his diet. He is however on Prescription Hills ID wet and dry so I mix the two then add the pumpkin. I always add a bit of water…. My little guy rarely scoots anymore, but does have to get his glands expressed every other month which is typical for the breed. I stand behind this product. Pumpkin off the shelf at the grocery may be cheaper but this is specifically developed for our four legged friends. Pumpkin on the shelf is for pies. My dog loves the taste. The shelf life is great, but after opened you have 7 days. If you won't use on a daily,you can put in ice trays with water and make pup pops. This is very bitter and my dog refused to eat it. We solved this by putting it in Pill Pockets and now she has no issues with the taste! This has worked on both of my large breed puppies, when they have a slight stomach upset. My vet always tells me to give the pups chicken and rice when they have an upset tummy, but when you have pups that lick, sometimes try and eat everything they come across, in the house, garden and walks they would permanently be on rice and chicken. Unfortunately this product did nothing to stem the flow of ultra sloppy stools suffered by my dog. He seems to have a kind of doggy irritable bowel syndrome. Once his tum's sufficiently irritated nothing will help except 12+ hours starvation followed by a diet mainly of plain rice and bland meat and vegetables. This is actually my second time purchasing these stairs. My first set lasted close to 8 years! I have a 9 pound 8 1/2 year old Chihuahua that is unable to jump up onto our bed due to the height. Way back when, I struggled trying to find stairs that would actually reach the level of our bed until I found these. They are prefect for anyone that has a high bed and is concerned about their small dog (or cat) jumping on and off. They are super lightweight but durable. The cover can be easily removed and washed. The only issue I have ever run into with my dog and these stairs is that while he will use them to get up onto the bed, he will not use them to come down off of the bed. I am not sure if it is because they are a tad on the steep side (because of the height) or if he just has some strange quirk (one never knows with a Chihuahua). I've tried the Veterinary Formula Clinical Care Antiseptic and Anti fungal Spray for Dogs and Cats on a few of our outside cats. They've been deflead but one still kept scratching and losing fur just above her tail. I'm not sure if it's an allergic reaction to the fleas or if it's the result of a thyroid problem. But we tried this spray and the itching stopped immediately. It's been almost 3 weeks and she still isn't scratching it. I also wanted to try this on some ringworm that a few of the outside cats have. I've been spraying this on for almost 3 weeks now but haven't really seen any improvement with the ringworm spots that I'm treating. Ringworm can respond slow to treatments anyway so I'm not sure if this is going to help with that or not. The spray is a pump and it has a light citrus smell, kind of like oranges. It will not harm your pet if they lick it. It didn't list a minimum age that you can use it on. It contains Chlorhexidine Gluconate, Keratin, and Aloe Vera. It's listed as an antifungal, antimicrobial, and antibacterial. To use this you just spray the area tell really wet, twice daily for a week, then once daily for another week. You can continue every other day for another 2 weeks.Cricketoes

I read the reviews for this product but was still a bit skeptical for it to actually work. One of my cats (2 yr old orange tabby) literally scratched the size of a 50 cent bare spot (literally overnight) in center of his back below shoulder blade. By the end of the day the circle was warm red inflamed and gross. Being on a tight budget I did my research for home remedies. First I began applying a year old vet prescribed Dermalone antibiotic that was prescribed for one of my other cats for 3 days but area got worse. Then began applying Neosporin for 2 days lightly on and around scab now and ( luckily the spot was where he could not reach to lick off) and it did nothing as well. A week later purchased this product, followed the directions and a week later the area was completed healed. Scab dried and fell off and new skin looks perfect and normal. Unfortunately I dont know what this was for did not take him to a vet. Infected area did resemble pictures of ringworm online. Im not a vet but am thinking whatever it was it was some type of fungal infection. Benefits of product; it wasnt expensive, was easy to apply, and has a light pleasant scent.Debbie

I am so thankful to have found this today! My poor dog could not stop scratching and licking under his front legs, and they were raw and bleeding. He was whimpering but would not stop. My 10 year old cat was literally dying because she could not eat and was getting too weak to drink. She was getting palliative, hospice type care but I didn't want her to starve to death. I take care of feral cats and I Trap, Neuter, and Release (TNR) them in order to decrease the cat population in my neighborhood. When spaying a female cat, you have to keep them for at least 4 days for them to appropriately heal and have the affects of the anesthesia to wear off completely. One of the ferals that I trapped was a skin-and-bones female that was really too young to be having the kitten she was towing around with her. So I trapped her and her only surviving female kitten, had them both fixed and proceeded to "Fatten them up" and have them heal completely. "Under the Weather" Ready-Cal was the perfect supplement to give to both mamma and baby while they healed. I kept mamma in my care for one month because she was so pathetically thin. In that month, Mamma's coat changed from a rusty brown to a glossy black. She gained weight to where you could no longer feel her ribs poking through her fur. She did not like indoor life AT ALL and could not be socialized or handled, so she was released back to her outdoor home. I continue to feed Mamma every day, even built her an outdoor heated shelter in my fenced in yard. She is very content now. She now loves people, but cannot be picked up off the ground or lifted, but allows petting and head scratches. As for her kitten, she socialized very well, is awesome at vet visits and handling, and doubled in size very quickly because of the added Ready-Cal supplement and gained weight at a rate of 1lb/month. Her blood work came back from the vet as perfect. She was de-wormed, de-fleaed, and now is added to our family as a "foster-fail" which means that she is just too stinking cute to adopt out, so I kept her as part of our family. If I put their wet food down without the Ready-CAL supplement they sniff it as something is not quite right with the food. Once I apply it to the food, they lick the brown calorie-dense "goop" (as my husband calls it) off the top of the food first, then they dig into and eat the rest. I do not feel that the kitten and Mamma cat would have recovered so fully and have such good health now if it was not for the Ready-Cal supplement. I continue to give Mamma cat the supplement every day because she is an outdoor cat, and they burn more calories being outside. MY 16 year old rescue dog got Hemorrhagic Gastroenteritis mid- March and was at death's door, but she pulled through. She didn't seem to have any after effects. One day I noticed her in the yard eating something. I checked to be sure it wasn't a lizard or some such thing. I couldn't believe what she was eating. I was recommended Purina Pro Plan FortiFlora by my vet and have had great results. Since then I grab it at Petsmart when needed. My pitbull has a very sensitive stomach and often has issues. Since using FortiFlora, most of his issues have been resolved. He loves the flavor. I believe it's beef and it's so easy to give it to him. You just sprinkle the packet on his food once a day and that's all. I've tried treat probiotics in the past and he wasn't a fan of the taste of them. Also I had to make sure he chewed them completely for them to work. The powder just makes it so much easier. It is pricey but well worth it. First an introduction to Barnie the bichon… He’s 13 years young with one, heart failure and osteoarthritis. Bert is old and has a few gas issues. Well a lot of gas issues really and sharing a room with him is sometimes not so much fun. The Purina Pro Plan Forti Flora sachets have made a huge difference to his gut issues and his enjoyment of eating. There is now much less tummy grumbling and much less gas. The sachets are so easy to mix with his normal wet food and Bert enjoys eating it.
