I received my treadmilll for my furkids yesterday. Didn't even read instructions but put together in less than 20 minutes. Easy! It just took me a minute to figure out what the two pins with circles on them were for. They lock the bottom bar that raises into place. I bought this to help me with my two larger Lhasa Apso mixes that are lazy and overweight. After setting it up I just let it sit in the living room overnight so the dogs all got used to it being in the house. I just played with the buttons to get some beeps so they could all hear the new noise, no problem. Then today I bribed my male Lhasa to walk up on it with a treat. Because he will do almost anything to get a treat this was way too easy. Because he looked completely comfortable on the treadmill I took a chance and turned it on the lowest speed. I kept the treats just out of reach but close enough for him to smell them. Within the first minute I turned up the speed and he was absolutely great with walking on it. Needless to say I was very surprised and he is a pro already on his very first try! My female Lhasa is going to take a little bit more coaxing as she is very timid of anything new but she did get on it without problem. I will try her again tomorrow. I have a total of 4 furkids and the littlest is a Lhasa Apso/Shih Tzu. She doesn't need the extra workout but she already loves getting on it and was walking the first time also. My active Doberman is recovering from a spinal injury and needs to be confined. This pen is perfect. The quality is top-notch, with plenty of clear and illustrated instructions that are really not even necessary as it's so simple to set up. My one and only quibble is that the box opened nearly the full length of the side during shipping. I think the packing tape gave way. All parts were intact and nothing was damaged so just FYI. I'm now going to buy another one of these for the back yard. I was going to transport this one in and out rather than spend the money since it's (I'm hoping) not a life-long need, but while it's so easy to fold and move, it is pretty heavyweight (42") so it'd be a bit of a chore for me to do often. She's never been a jumper, especially not now, and I don't leave her alone outside so I could easily go with a lower height that's less expensive and more portable (keep in the shade) for the yard.jacy
I like Midwest products as the metal seems to be stronger and last longer than other brands. I have the original ex-pen I bought around 1995 – it's survived 50+ large dogs. I prefer them to crates as the dogs have more room to move around, yet they are easily configured to a smaller shape when potty training. They easier to clean than crates. They fold flat and I can store them next to a fridge or behind a furnace. They work indoors/out and are great mobile containment. For dogs living in fenceless areas (condos) ex-pens can be linked using carabiners/bolt snaps (i.e., dog leash clips) for fencing moveable for mowing/snow removal. They are great for patio surrounds. You can buy metal tops for if a dog needs more containment, but most won't if using a tall enough ex-pen. I've also bought just the metal or plastic crate pans to put under the ex-pen if needed. I ordered several of these to use as barriers to prevent my young Border Collie from running through the mud in our back yard after it rains. I set them up just off the patio several feet to allow him some space in the grass without giving him free reign of the whole yard to run through. They are very easy to set up, take down, and store! I recently adopted a cat and discovered that one of my dogs has a tendency to dig around in litter boxes. Gross. I was looking for a gate to block the entrance to my laundry room (where the litter box is) that would be high enough to deter my small dogs but low enough that it would be easy enough for my cat to hop over. I love this gate because it's perfect for containing little dogs (mine is 15 lbs.) and it's easy for me to step over. This is the fourth one I've ordered. I just got a new puppy who isn't house trained, AND he tries to run out the front door every chance he gets. After chasing him through the neighborhood three times, I put one of these gates up between my front door and my screen door. I also put three others at the bedroom thresholds to keep him in the living room until he's house trained. The gates also make my two cats feel safe until they all get along! This is an excellent set of pet stairs. I liked the information envelope included with the 'Hello' cards…so nice! It had a disclaimer regarding a non-hazardous odor…we did not notice any odor at all straight out of the packaging. The foam blocks are nice and firm, my 15 lb Boston terrier mix has no issues using them. I like the neutral color as well. Material seems to be of a decent quality. It was easy to put together as well, just stack the top foam block onto the bottom one, pull the cover material over it and zip. Have not had to launder it yet, but instructions state machine wash cold, gentle cycle. I'm curious how it will hold up to washing.MomInLa
We love these pet steps. I have two small dogs: a 10 lb chihuahua mix, and a 16 lb silky terrier with short legs. Both of my dogs were able to use these pet steps the very first day we got them. We trained them by putting little bits of cheese on each step, and a piece at the top. We tried these steps out with my couch, and on my bed, which my terrier struggles jumping up on, especially as she ages. They are a nice neutral gray color which worked well in both my bedroom and my living room. They are soft, plush, and very lightweight, so it was easy to move from one place to the other. Included in the box, was a note saying it might have a little bit of a smell from the newly manufactured foam. I smelled it a little bit when opening the box, but didn't even notice it again after the stairs were assembled. By the way, the assembly is just putting one of the cushions inside a zippered section. The rest of it was already inside. Very easy. It even included a nice note from the company, and three free blank greeting cards as a thank you for buying their product. We've had plastic pet stairs in the past, but had trouble with the legs falling off, making it unsafe for our dogs to use. We ended up getting rid of those. These are very high quality durable and useful gates. There are tiny rubber pads under so you know which side to grab after putting away and the ease of the hinges are excellent. They are heavy enough to let the pet know it's stable and it's not a easy move with a nose plus the size and amount of panels make the setting of your area customized to the fit. I actually will buy more so I can use them out on the patio. Our dog understands boundaries and seems satisfied to see us until the entry is opened. I bought one brown which is a nice dark walnut color brown and a white one which both have a nice what I would describe as an enameled type gloss finish for protective wear. You won't be disappointed however if you're looking for a stoppage barrier this is simply a sturdy boundary maker so you would need a secured gate or kennel for that.JJ

The door itself was nice. Not too difficult to install but not as easy as some that I’ve done. My problem (and the reason for the 2 star review) is the “closing panel” which is not a panel but rather a cover. I assumed that this door cover would work like all other petsafe doors I’ve had which have been great. Because the description says “panel,” that further made me think it was a panel that you slide in like all doors I’ve seen. This is not the case. It’s a snap-on cover that is supposed to clip in on the sides. It comes with one cover that you can put on either the inside or the outside. You will either be able to keep things in or out but not both at the same time. The biggest problem is that depending on your door and placement, the panels in the door can make the alignment to clip it on nearly impossible (see picture). I don’t have any confidence in it so we always have to block the door with something pushed up against the cover. I have a degree in mechanical engineering, so it’s not a lack of intelligence that’s the problem. It’s a poor design for the cover.
Easy enough to install, but their use of nylon bolts is a downside. I understand it is so you can cut the excess away. But it probably wouldn't have cost any more (possibly a tiny bit more) to engineer the door to use metal hardware so it wouldn't strip as easily. The other issue I have is the "security" snap on door. Because it's snap on and not slid in or lockable, both my dogs have been able to push it off from the outside in. And the door is XL so it's big enough for a person to crawl through, so there is absolutely no security from a person entering standpoint. Other than that, the door works perfectly well for letting the dogs in and out independently, and keeping the heat/cool outside.Chefblue
This was dribbling enough water into my utility room during storms that I had to disassemble it to figure out where it was leaking. I couldn't find exactly where it was letting water in, so once I got it reassembled, I caulked the heck out of it and it seems to be okay for now. Taking it apart and reinstalling it was a major hassle. Most of the nylon screws either broke or wouldn't fit all the way back through, after numerous attempts. Seems to be poorly engineered. And the door where it was leaking isn't even facing in the usual direction of the wind/rain, so I don't know why it leaked so badly.TS777

The quality is poor. The unit is fairly easy to assemble and really cute…BUT when you walk on it it feels like there is a drag, I lubricated it well but it only seemed like it ran at an “OK” level at a higher speed. I googled it and it pointed to lubrication or the motor power being insufficient. Also, I feel like the unit I had was a unit someone returned because some of the parts listed in the manual & on a YouTube video I watched showed it required assembly but it was already assembled on the unit but there was a matching duplicate part in the box. I was really upset I wanted it to work well so I could keep it. I ordered the unit from target vs another retailer because I read in the target description it was returnable to the store the other place said it wasn’t allowed. The unit arrived about 3 days after I ordered it. I put it together on a Sunday and returned it that Tuesday. The only thing good about this treadmill is the size if your looking for a compact treadmill. The cup holder doesn't hold a regular size water bottle. The display panel is made of cheap plastic and is really small. Their are parts I had no idea what to do with. The instructions do not specify. I am really happy with this treadmill! It is a bit large and bulky. Easy to fold and put away. It has a nice digital display to show you speed, calories burnt and distance. I am limited in space and this treadmill takes up little room when folded up. It is the most stable home treadmill I've ever walked on. I did NOT like the instructions written in pigeon English. I hate trying to decipher what a oriental (who has completed 8th grade English and is now writing assembly instructions for products meant for the US) means. Other than that, was easy to assemble once I used my training as a tech writer to figure out what the heck it meant. Using was easy as it is a fairly simple machine compared to many.
I am a 195 lb male and have used the treadmill for walking about 7 times since it arrived about a week ago. Functions nicely though had a periodic sound from belt area that has mostly gone away since I lubricated the belt mechanism with the lubricant provided. I only walk but the three manually adjusted incline positions let me easily get my heart rate up to 75% of max on the lowest inclined position, not level. I am fully satisfied with the product at this point in time.

My older dog has significant pain in her hips and doesn't have a lot of strength in her rear legs. She can't handle narrow steps and doesn't trust ramps, this was large enough and stable enough for her to use with relative ease. It fit nicely between driver seat and back passenger seat of my old Volvo. The DogPacer is everything it promises and more. Quiet motor, check. Easy assembly, check. Variable height, adjustable speed, dog's ability to use it, check check check. My 35-lb Queensland Heeler only needed to stand on it and get off 3 times. When she stayed the 4th time, I turned it on and she hasn't looked back since. This is the ideal option for those of us who cannot for any reason exercise our dogs adequately. The Heeler is a high-energy herding breed and her two runs a day are essential to her mental and physical well being. The exercise allows her to be calm and to relax. I feel less guilty. A few features I'd like to highlight for those who have been comparing dog treadmills: the "wings" on the sides keep my dog from being distracted; the run length at 72 in is more than I thought I would need but I was wrong; it folds into 42 in but I haven't tried that yet. The range of paces is essential and to get the most work for the time invested,, I put mine on the high angle. The control panel is very clear and super easy to use. I received my treadmilll for my furkids yesterday. Didn't even read instructions but put together in less than 20 minutes. Easy! It just took me a minute to figure out what the two pins with circles on them were for. They lock the bottom bar that raises into place. I bought this to help me with my two larger Lhasa Apso mixes that are lazy and overweight. After setting it up I just let it sit in the living room overnight so the dogs all got used to it being in the house. I just played with the buttons to get some beeps so they could all hear the new noise, no problem. Then today I bribed my male Lhasa to walk up on it with a treat. Because he will do almost anything to get a treat this was way too easy. Because he looked completely comfortable on the treadmill I took a chance and turned it on the lowest speed. I kept the treats just out of reach but close enough for him to smell them. Within the first minute I turned up the speed and he was absolutely great with walking on it. Needless to say I was very surprised and he is a pro already on his very first try! My female Lhasa is going to take a little bit more coaxing as she is very timid of anything new but she did get on it without problem. I will try her again tomorrow. I have a total of 4 furkids and the littlest is a Lhasa Apso/Shih Tzu. She doesn't need the extra workout but she already loves getting on it and was walking the first time also. The fourth dog is a Pit Bull and he weighs too much for the mini treadmill I purchased but he wants on it also. With 4 dogs to try and walk enough I haven't been able to keep up. The two Lhasa's were rescue dogs and don't know how to play normally. We think they were caged as breeders. Any way the treadmill will be great for getting them the much needed walking they both need. Bottom line I am extremely happy with this treadmill!!! It is quiet and even the beeps aren't loud at all. Our Siberian Husky took to this treadmill quickly. He walks on it with no issues. Took about 3 tries and he was walking! We left off the bar and side pieces, as they are not really necessary for the function. It took a few tries to get the pace correct, but so nice there are many options for all different dogs. The DogPacer is everything it promises and more. Quiet motor, check. Easy assembly, check. Variable height, adjustable speed, dog's ability to use it, check check check. My 35-lb Queensland Heeler only needed to stand on it and get off 3 times. When she stayed the 4th time, I turned it on and she hasn't looked back since. This is the ideal option for those of us who cannot for any reason exercise our dogs adequately. The Heeler is a high-energy herding breed and her two runs a day are essential to her mental and physical well being. The exercise allows her to be calm and to relax. I feel less guilty. A few features I'd like to highlight for those who have been comparing dog treadmills: the "wings" on the sides keep my dog from being distracted; the run length at 72 in is more than I thought I would need but I was wrong; it folds into 42 in but I haven't tried that yet. The range of paces is essential and to get the most work for the time invested,, I put mine on the high angle. The control panel is very clear and super easy to use. My dog and I are very satisfied with this treadmill after doing a lot of research.Bookcat
I received my treadmilll for my furkids yesterday. Didn't even read instructions but put together in less than 20 minutes. Easy! It just took me a minute to figure out what the two pins with circles on them were for. They lock the bottom bar that raises into place. I bought this to help me with my two larger Lhasa Apso mixes that are lazy and overweight. After setting it up I just let it sit in the living room overnight so the dogs all got used to it being in the house. I just played with the buttons to get some beeps so they could all hear the new noise, no problem. Then today I bribed my male Lhasa to walk up on it with a treat. Because he will do almost anything to get a treat this was way too easy. Because he looked completely comfortable on the treadmill I took a chance and turned it on the lowest speed. I kept the treats just out of reach but close enough for him to smell them. Within the first minute I turned up the speed and he was absolutely great with walking on it. Needless to say I was very surprised and he is a pro already on his very first try! My female Lhasa is going to take a little bit more coaxing as she is very timid of anything new but she did get on it without problem. I will try her again tomorrow. I have a total of 4 furkids and the littlest is a Lhasa Apso/Shih Tzu. She doesn't need the extra workout but she already loves getting on it and was walking the first time also. The fourth dog is a Pit Bull and he weighs too much for the mini treadmill I purchased but he wants on it also. With 4 dogs to try and walk enough I haven't been able to keep up. The two Lhasa's were rescue dogs and don't know how to play normally. We think they were caged as breeders. Any way the treadmill will be great for getting them the much needed walking they both need. Bottom line I am extremely happy with this treadmill!!! It is quiet and even the beeps aren't loud at all. Our Siberian Husky took to this treadmill quickly. He walks on it with no issues. Took about 3 tries and he was walking! We left off the bar and side pieces, as they are not really necessary for the function. It took a few tries to get the pace correct, but so nice there are many options for all different dogs. Our dog is very high energy. Having this indoor treadmill when the weather gets nasty will be a lifesaver. Great product. Super easy to get set up and started. At first I loved the walking pad, and it really helped to get my steps in while I was working. However, it has started to make an awful squeal when I turn it on. I have lubricated the belt and made sure to tighten/loosen/align the belt as needed, but the squeal does not go away. I use this during the work day to get 10-15,000 steps/day while I work. It's quiet, reliable, and easy to use (full disclosure, I've only had it for a week, I'll try to post more later). I'm loving working from home now! I also bought a "Stand Steady Tranzendesk 55 Clamp On Shelf" desk to go with it. (I thought I'd be buying an electric or pneumatic adjustable desk, but after lots of review reading, decided on this crank-powered desk and VERY glad I did, it's a great desk, love the extra shelf.) The only thing I need to look into is how I can walk on the treadmill so the belt doesn't migrate to one side (see image). The arrows show that there is more space between the belt and the sidewall on one side than there is on the other. Probably related to how I'm walking or maybe I need to re-level it. Anyone else have this issue and have solved it?Valerie
So far so good. I just set this up in my office today and the first workout is in the books. Overall the treadmill is simple to use. I did have issues with the remote for a bit but I’m thinking it’s because the treadmill electronic board was further under my desk so it wasn’t reaching. I’ll update after next workout. I am a little bummed about there not being an app to connect this to. I thought I had read a review saying you could sync it to your phone or an app but maybe that was for a different product when I was searching for what to buy.CA

This product saved a pound pooch. We adopted a 2 year old schnoodle (schnauzer/poodle) from a shelter. He is smart, learns tricks and basic commands quickly (with treats), but he will ignore you when he doesn't feel like obeying. His biggest issue was diving out the door any time it was opened, and when he got outside, he would run off and not return until he was finished exploring (even when called). It only took a few "stimulations" to teach him to come back when called. It has also been useful in training our "cat-dog" to stay off tables. The unit has 15 intensity settings, and we normally only have to set it on 2 or 3 (when dealing with the outside run off problem, we had to turn it up to 7 one time.) Contrary to the product directions, we use the tone feature as a warning prior to "stimulation" as we also have an electronic fence for him that uses a tone to warn him to stay in the boundaries. Therefore, trying to use the tone on the training collar as positive reinforcement would have confused him. After only 2 weeks, 99% of the time, all we have to do anytime he is disobeying in anyway is give the warning tone. He has also learned not to wander too far from me when he is off the leash. He weighs 14 lbs and has a neck circumference of 10 inches. The collar fit fine after adjusting it and cutting off the excess. The receiver is also one of the smallest of all the brands/models we looked at. Our dog has also tested the waterproof feature, as he took a dive in a swamp yesterday. So far, the unit is still functioning. The unit does have to be charged daily, even with limited use.CritterLuvR2
