My dog has anxiety about everything. He's afraid of the usual but he also is scared of mundane things like birds chirping outside, our microwave beeping, etc. When he gets anxious he does self harming behavior. I recently adopted 2 retired greyhounds and noticed my female would hide and pant before and during rainstorms. I bought these just a few weeks before July 4th since the firecrackers were already starting to explode in our neighborhood and my male grey refused to walk after hearing pops and getting spooked. I got 2 in XL: one in Camo with orange stripes and the sport in platinum which has a quilted weave and feels thicker so I could see if they had any preference since they both fit on either dog (they like them both). Just followed the directions for wrapping the shirts and it seemed to instantly calm my girl down to the point where she doesn’t want to take it off though eventually she lets me. I’m not sure it helps my male so much since it’s gotten so hot out that I won’t add an extra layer on them in this heat and cause them to have heat stroke but I put it on them during stormy weather and they both really like wearing the shirts which surprised me so I think he likes it too. My "little" guy has a life long issue with loud noises that began about eight years ago when he was eleven weeks old and we ventured out in between thunder showers with his mom and dad. Suddenly a stray lightning bolt hit missed us by only a few yards and the accompanying explosive noise terrified my three dogs and myself. The dogs went howling into the house and you can imagine the impact that experience had on a very young pup. I did everything I could think of to acclimate Yulee to sudden loud noises but nothing seemed to work as well as the ThunderShirt we purchased on the Amazon site. He's not as frightened of approaching thunder boomers as he is by gun fire or fireworks probably because he can gradually get into a more relaxed state with advancing storms. Now we also have time to prepare him for the thunder claps and we're relieved that he apparently finds the ThunderShirt comforting. He also likes to have time to curl up in secluded spot where he probably doesn't feel as exposed to any inherent danger – (see the third image). You can tell he's starting to feel threatened in the middle shot where his tail is tucked under his rear and the noise from today's thunderstorms is getting increasingly louder. The only reason the ThunderShirt didn't earn 5 stars from me is that at a svelte145 pounds Yulee was squeezed too much for our liking by the largest size (XXL) offered. We wrapped him in it without over tightening the material to make it uncomfortable while still affording him the gentle pressure and protective aspect of security. The fabric of the ThunderShirt Sport is a lightweight polyester which I felt might be lighter and more breathable than the other models with a poly, spandex and rayon blend. With all the fur this guy has he doesn't need any additional warmth. Fair product – it takes a triple dose to have any visible effect on my 30# dog, and it only gets her about half calm, but that's still better than letting her flake out. This literally worked right before my eyes in a very short time. It was as if I was watching a magic show! There was much less trembling and panting and he was almost completely calm after the 3rd dose and even slept right after the thunder stopped when he normally would have been still alert and unsettled. I love the product – your packaging – AGAIN – is HORRIBLE. I ordered two of these and one arrived opened and about ten left in the the bottom of the container. The other container was in tack! So one container completely distroyed. Other items in the box were broken open: The box of Cat Food – 30 box count. Totally broken apart and all the cans were all about the box. And many dented! The shipping box itself had obviously been broken and arrived in super bad condition and a lot extra tape. The box was a mess and was part of the delay in its delivery! I have complained about your packaging practices many times before…. Seldom with any evidence that some one cares. Boxes still come beat up, destroyed, contents thrown about and dented. AND way too heavy! I will be 80 next week! Those are heavy boxes for me (or anyone!!)…..I have to take the box apart a the gate and bring items into the house. I am so thrilled with the results of this product. I contacted the manufacturer, who confirmed that the formula is the same as their cat joint relief product; the dosage and texture is just different between the two. So I buy this for my 2 cats and 1 dog to avoid having to buy two different products that are essentially the same thing. I crumble 1 treat into my senior cats' wet food each day and give 2 daily to my young dog for preventative purposes. Before starting on these, both of my cats had showed some natural decline in mobility, and one of them had torn his ACL tear when attempting a high jump. After just a few days of these treats, both cats showed greater mobility, and the one with the ACL injury was jumping again after a little over a week. After several weeks, he's moving like the young, athletic cat he used to be. I purchased the ThunderShirt for my dog's anxiety over fireworks. I tried to get my dog accustomed to it before putting it on her as the instructions stated but she ran away every time even when it was paired with treats and I was just holding it up. Despite this, I put the ThunderShirt on her the night of the 4th of July fireworks. I also added the calming spray to the area on the shirt as indicated. She was very anxious the whole night. However, the next night I put the shirt on her again and she calmed down quickly despite neighbors setting off fireworks. This was repeated the next night as well. After a harrowing drive in a rainstorm- my poor doggy gave me the most stressed out face I had ever seen – so I pulled into Petco heading straight for the pheromones- Holy Moley – within 20 minutes he was a different dog. Granted – we got home chilled – but the next day he has gone from a medium hyperactive Chi Hua Hua with tremendous separation anxiety some barking issues to a super chilled out version of the same dog. I bought this thinking it would be something to use when we get company or workers that come to the house. Our dog has anxiety and barking at these times. These diffusers are effective but theyre not something you plug in and witness instant behavior improvement. Sometimes dogs will adjust after being exposed to the pheromones after a few days, in our case it was weeks, so patience is required. Even then, the change in our two anxious basset hounds was subtle but noticeable. I see the difference in their anxiety if I dont replace the diffuser immediately. We have a very anxious dog. The vet suggested we try this pheromone diffuser to help her feel better. It releases the pheromones of nursing mother dogs which is supposed to be very soothing. Dear NaturVet, Our 10 year old terrier has been absolutely terrified of fireworks for as long as I can remember. We use Quiet Moments for an 80 lb Catahoula Leopard dog. Prescription meds from the vet made her aggressive so we tried Quiet Moments. We only give her at most 1 tablet at a time, far lower then the recommended dose on the bottle for her weight, and it works wonderfully through thunderstorms or a night of fireworks. We adopted a Cocker Spanial when she was 4 years old. The week after she turned 5 she started having cluster seizures. We have spent thousands of dollars bringing her to her vet for this problem. My 13 year old mixed breed has had severe reactions to thunderstorms for years as well as high anxiety in other situations. Sometimes his shaking was so severe, the bed or sofa would shake to the point that I could not fall asleep. At half dose, this formula calms him down in 5-10 minutes and he is his usual self. He also appears to have Sundowner's, becoming fearful and hyper-vigilant as darkness comes on in the evening. It is a great comfort to know that I have the solution a few steps away in the frig. I have found that the best way to give it is in a 1/2 teaspoon measuring spoon. I put the drops in the spoon, tilt his head and pour it into the gap between upper and lower teeth. Our Natural Vet carries this and suggested we use it for our 15 yr old chihuahua/terrier mix who has doggie "dementia". He would get so agitated and cried a lot. My dogs get very anxious during thunderstorms and end up waking us up when they occur at night. We had thunderstorms and I gave them each half the recommended dosage based on their weight before the storms started rolling through. I went with half because they are both very old and it's new so just wanted to check it out first. It definitely seemed to help them chill out and they slept instead of pacing through the house for the first half of the night. What I'm not sure about is how long it lasts, since it doesn't say on the package. I'm used to people dosages that say don't exceed X per day or whatever. Because the thunderstorm lasted all night (as do fireworks on holidays), I'm not sure if I should give another dose? My dogs were sniffing the floor constantly. With everyone home under the stay-at-home order, their routines were thrown off. This is my first puppy/dog ever. I have a 7wk old Aussie/Lab mix who gets terrible separation anxiety when left alone (in a room or in a crate). This product has also helped one of my senior dogs who suffers from some dementia (sundowning). Calming does exactly that … he relaxes, stops pacing or standing facing a wall. I read a lot of good reviews about the Thunder Ease spray which led me to make the purchase. I have 2 Yorkies that stress very badly during loud thunderstorms and when they hear loud fireworks, so I believed this would offer them much needed relief. I've used the spray according to the directions on 4 occasions during recent storms and it did absolutely nothing. I sprayed the dogs, their bedding and their kennel and to no avail, they continued to stress and pant nervously. So, at least in my instance, since it failed, I cannot claim that it is either a good value or of good quality.big-d-in-kc

I bought this thinking it would be something to use when we get company or workers that come to the house. Our dog has anxiety and barking at these times. This needs to used on objects close to the dog 15 minutes or more before. Doesn’t work for our needs. I am going to try a collar type instead.Obie mom

My dog is terrified of thunder, rainstorms, and loud noises. He only became that way the last couple of years. We tried everything. This seems to help a little and he does not pant as much. We start it earlier than the expected time of the storm. We used it New Years Eve and while he was nervous, he did not pant as much as he usually did. It is true to fit and is well-made. I think he likes it as he did not want to take it off.nerd4werds
