He normally trusts what I put on him and he's fine with it, I sprayed this a cpl times and we both were trying to run from it! I wanted this to work so bad because my dog is highly allergic to fleas and shreds himself up even when he has the topical flea prevention. Even if a dog around him has fleas he breaks out (our neighbor dog has fleas so my poor pup get around them). I saw this and wanted to try to give him some relief to my itchy pooch. The first day, I saw 3 fleas on my dog and purposefully left them on there to see if it worked. I came back in an hour and they were still there. I figured since it says up to 4 hrs I would wait. Later in the day I checked him, fleas still there. So I thought may it took some time for his body to get accustomed to it. The next day same story, he went outside in the morning I checked him saw he has some fleas, gave him a pill checked him about an hour and a half later, fleas are still having a party. Let it set for the rest of the afternoon and checked him before dinner, still the fleas are alive and kicking. 3rd day same story. At this point I can see it isn’t working and I wasted the $25 it costs for it. At least I didn’t spend the $50 for the month. I would rattle the jar and they would all come running 1 did the trick for at least 3 or 4 weeks . Within a few hours the fleas seem to be better . You can re administer as needed and I only had to do that I think the first time when I bought them in the fleas were really bad . Now let's break it down $59.53 divided by 30 days of the month that's a $1.98 per day to protect your baby. I do agree it could have had a lot more stuff to help with the fleas & ticks. I am a vet assistant, and I see all kinds of animals coming in with different skin conditions or allergies and always felt so bad for them and their owners….. then I got a dog with allergies and then I found out what it's really like…. it is devastating watching your dog itch and scratch to the point of pulling their hair out, then when the hair is gone… then there goes their skin…. they will make themselves bleed and still won't stop. I tried benadryl I tried EVERYTHING, had to even do skin antibiotics and steroid Injections and still he was itching…. so… the dr tried him on this….. now… first thing I will say is this medication isn't cheap especially for bigger dogs (if you have a 10lbs dog it's not going to be too bad) but my poor dog had to start off taking 2 16mg 2 times a day and it was roughly 300 for the first month, however from there you taper down and after a few months I got him down to half a tablet once daily…. anyway…. this medication worked like a dream for him. He hasn't had any issues for over a year now and although sometimes he scratches its more of a normal itch. This medication literally saved him and my sanity. It's very distressing to find 3 happy engorged ticks on your dog 24 hours after treatment following all the requirements re: proper placement location on the dog, shaved the hair to make contact only on the skin, no water on the dog for 24 hours or at all after treatment. I was frankly, pretty shocked. This is an older small dog with arthritis. He is already in some pain and to find the ticks on him on top of this frankly really upset me. I breed Chihuahuas and I also foster cats/kittens. My Chihuahuas are litter box trained so they rarely get fleas because they dont spend a whole lot of time outside. Even when we go for walks, theyre in a dog stroller lol. Anyways… I fostered a litter of kittens that were found outside and covered in fleas. Finally something that works consistently. After trying probably 10-15 brands of flea and tick stuff for my Dogs this is the company I come back to. Ive tried expensive stuff, Ive tried dirt cheap stuff. This works and works FAST. I actually have to put my dogs out if they have fleas on them at all. Within 30 minutes they are jumping off to get away and die. Weve had issues with super fleas here in northeast USA where the only thing Ive found to work is old fashion dawn dish soap and salt.Ive literally spread salt on all my floors so it looks like snow and left it sit over night then vacuum it up and then mop with dawn dish soap, everyday for over a week straight. Our one cat’s fur fell out and skin was red and itchy at the site of application. This happened with Revolution as well (although the reaction was less severe with Revolution), so we had to switch him to Advantage Multi. He’s had no issues with Advantage. Our other cat has had no reactions and is enjoying the wooded area behind our house for the summer. I think it works as well as Revolution for him. We’re keeping him on Selarid. In conclusion, I would not recommend this for cats with sensitive/fragile skin. If you’re not sure about your cat’s skin, you may have to try it at least once. And if your trial fails, I would say to not throw it away. Maybe give the remainder to a neighbor’s cat or to a shelter; that way, your money isn’t completely wasted as somebody else can also benefit from the product.alizay

I am hesitant to use these types of products compulsively for preventive measures. Fortunately, We’ve not been in an area where fleas are out of control outside, as we have had problems in the past with other pets. These types of topical medicines would only be effective for a maximum of 1 1/2 to 2 weeks at best. And then our previous dog, and coincidentally our cat also, developed tumors where these types of medicines were being applied. I can’t say for certain that they were the cause. But it’s very suspicious that it happened in both animals. The dog we noticed first. And maybe a year or so later our cat. They both lived to past 11 years. And our dog was also on meds for epilepsy. Only briefly because he would spit out the meds no matter how clever I thought I was in hiding them. So, since he refused to take them, I stopped trying to make him. His grand mal seizures were frequent and long lasting. But, he just got better at spitting out the pills, even if I shoved them down his throat. i have only had to use these topicals a few times in our current dogs short life, so far. And it seemed to work fine and for as long as it said it was supposed to work. And when she or we seem a bit more itchy, I apply it again, and wait until it’s “needed”, again- as opposed to routinely scheduled once every month. And in my opinion, it works better than capstar, which is meant as a short acting topical to immediately relieve a flea problem getting out of control. But for whatever reason, this works better for us, even though it might take a few days to really notice results. (I never really noticed immediate results with. Capstar. It helped make the problem not get any worse. But it didn’t solve the problem either.)shelly.c

I bought this supplement a year ago because my cavalier king charles spaniel had recently experienced two bad episodes with ivdd and she’s only 4 years old. We took our Newfie/Lab to the vet to get vaccinated for a training class. Shortly after his shots, he developed a skin allergy with two hot spots on each hip. Finally something that works consistently. After trying probably 10-15 brands of flea and tick stuff for my Dogs this is the company I come back to. Ive tried expensive stuff, Ive tried dirt cheap stuff. This works and works FAST. I actually have to put my dogs out if they have fleas on them at all. Within 30 minutes they are jumping off to get away and die. Weve had issues with super fleas here in northeast USA where the only thing Ive found to work is old fashion dawn dish soap and salt.Ive literally spread salt on all my floors so it looks like snow and left it sit over night then vacuum it up and then mop with dawn dish soap, everyday for over a week straight. This stuff not only took care of the fleas on the dogs and cats but the ones in the house would jump on the dogs would die to. Havent had an issue since.Corvet08

I have bought five bottles of this so far because I like the product that much. It’s easy to attach to your garden hose and you’re able to treat a large area with one container. I like to use this heavily right on the woods line of my yard and then cover the grass. The ticks are horrible right now in NH and I feel this product really helps control them. The scent is also not overbearing and I actually enjoy it. It smells very natural and dissipates rather quickly. I’ve treated my lawn twice so far this year only because it ended up raining the following day after treatment. Overall, I really like this brand. Really strong. I used a little spot-check in the worst places because of the odor. Peppermint oil is also supposed to be good for rats which we also have this year after 12 years. I used Dr Brimmer's for that & liked it quite a bit. This stuff is really strong so be careful. I had also previously used some ENFORCER powder but that didn't seem to knock them out enough. You can keep spraying this, seems like there's more left over but like I said, it's very strong, be careful. Unfortunately, fleas & rats are abundant this year.Adrienne

I had been struggling with a slight flea problem with my dog who is routinely treated with K9 ADVANTAGE II topical flea protection. After a vacation we came home with some fleas and my dog was scratching himself crazy. Topical meds were obviously not working. I tried vinegar and palmolive baths (with essence oils) there werent a lot of fleas but only a few are too many. Vaccuming and household sprays were not eliminating the tiny fleas i saw. I finally decided a medicated ‘dip’ was what i needed…found this shampoo at Walmarts and noticed it had a higher % of pyrethrins than anything else so i gave it a try. I followed the directions,used rubber gloves, lathered up good and let it sit about 7-8 minutes. I saw a few fleas wash off with the rinse….hours later my dog is sleeping peacefully and i cannot find even 1 flea no matter how hard i try. I love this shampoo! You only need a tiny amount to lather the whole dog and it doesnt smell horrible. If you have a flea problem try this shampoo (but dont forget your house must also be flea proofed).Fav

I really like that it uses a natural ingredient to kill the pests instead of a strange chemical that could endanger my pet or the environment. This shampoo can be used on horses, ferrets, dogs, and cats. Puppies and kittens should be twelve weeks old to use this for control of fleas and ticks. It is not to be used more often than every seven days. Synergy Labs makes this product. The instructions are to wet the animals coat first with warm water. Start lathering the shampoo in at their head and ears first. Then lather the neck, chest, middle and hindquarters. Finish with the legs last paying special attention to the foot pads and especially between the toes. Be sure to get the under body areas well. Make sure to keep out of the eyes as it will cause discomfort. Leave the lathered shampoo on for five minutes before doing a careful rinse. Be sure to rinse all the lather off, again being very careful to keep out of their eyes. Afterward you can dry with a towel or even a blow dryer. Use what your pet can tolerate or enjoys. I have been battling fleas on my inside/ outside dog and 2 indoor cats. I have had little to no results with just about everything. I did my research and bought this shampoo based on reviews and that I could use it in both the dog and the cats. Both cats are older and I’m scared of the topical monthly flea meds. This seemed like a more harmless option. The first cat seems to have done well. My second cat started foaming at the mouth and drooling heavily. I immediately rinsed her and wrapped her in a towel. She seems to be recovering okay. I’m watching her closely. There were very few negative reviews but I just wanted to post my experience with it. I bought the advantus yesterday. My babies loved them. I paid $54.99 plus tax $4.54 bringing the grand total to $59.53. Now let's break it down $59.53 divided by 30 days of the month that's a $1.98 per day to protect your baby. I do agree it could have had a lot more stuff to help with the fleas & ticks. Now the reason I said it won't work for me, is because I have 21 babies so instead of buying 1 bottle a month I would be buying 3 1/2 bottles. Now that's serious money, just bathe in dawn dish soap. mist them with a flea and tick spray before they go out to potty your good to go. I gave three stars because I bought it yesterday. First, let me state that I was unsure of this product before it arrived, not only because of the amazing price but because I've tried many different flea pills, chews and the liquid forms and none of them seemed to help at all. I have three large dogs and bought a bottle of 30 chews, geared towards smaller to medium size dogs, for around $29 and some change. Normally even after a bath, once my Dogs go outside, fleas are going to jump all over them. We've treated our yard but not only are there many strays in the area, not all of our neighbors treat their dogs or yards. I have given them each 1 chew daily since I got the first bottle, almost on the second bottle now and not one flea has been found alive on them! And very few dead ones, that we've found on their coats. No side effects so far (thankfully) and seemingly this product works extremely well, in my opinion.
