I've tried the Veterinary Formula Clinical Care Antiseptic and Anti fungal Spray for Dogs and Cats on a few of our outside cats. They've been deflead but one still kept scratching and losing fur just above her tail. I'm not sure if it's an allergic reaction to the fleas or if it's the result of a thyroid problem. But we tried this spray and the itching stopped immediately. It's been almost 3 weeks and she still isn't scratching it. I also wanted to try this on some ringworm that a few of the outside cats have. I've been spraying this on for almost 3 weeks now but haven't really seen any improvement with the ringworm spots that I'm treating. Ringworm can respond slow to treatments anyway so I'm not sure if this is going to help with that or not. The spray is a pump and it has a light citrus smell, kind of like oranges. It will not harm your pet if they lick it. It didn't list a minimum age that you can use it on. It contains Chlorhexidine Gluconate, Keratin, and Aloe Vera. It's listed as an antifungal, antimicrobial, and antibacterial. To use this you just spray the area tell really wet, twice daily for a week, then once daily for another week. I read the reviews for this product but was still a bit skeptical for it to actually work. One of my cats (2 yr old orange tabby) literally scratched the size of a 50 cent bare spot (literally overnight) in center of his back below shoulder blade. By the end of the day the circle was warm red inflamed and gross. Being on a tight budget I did my research for home remedies. First I began applying a year old vet prescribed Dermalone antibiotic that was prescribed for one of my other cats for 3 days but area got worse. Then began applying Neosporin for 2 days lightly on and around scab now and ( luckily the spot was where he could not reach to lick off) and it did nothing as well. A week later purchased this product, followed the directions and a week later the area was completed healed. Scab dried and fell off and new skin looks perfect and normal. Unfortunately I dont know what this was for did not take him to a vet. Infected area did resemble pictures of ringworm online. Im not a vet but am thinking whatever it was it was some type of fungal infection. Benefits of product; it wasnt expensive, was easy to apply, and has a light pleasant scent.Debbie

I am so thankful to have found this today! My poor dog could not stop scratching and licking under his front legs, and they were raw and bleeding. He was whimpering but would not stop. I am finding Bravecto to be 100% effective at killing ticks before they suck blood, even before they attach. I know it's working because I'm brushing dead (flat) ticks out of my dogs' fur. When I used Frontline and Advantix I was constantly picking engorged ticks from my dogs. Maybe the ticks would have died EVENTUALLY, but they were having quite a ride in the meantime, and dogs were getting itchy, unpleasant wounds. They downside of Bravecto: Theoretically, if your dog has a bad reaction to it, you can't wash it off, like you could with the topical formulas. I have 3 dogs and none of them had any reaction at all, so I haven't faced that problem. Oh man, I guess I was assuming the Flea Flicker Tick Kicker’s smell would also be slight ( like the Protect Neem shampoo) sprayed him down in our master bathroom. Huge mistake. It really smells like an old lady perfume and filled the room with the same determination! Don’t make the same mistake, spray it outside in open air! It cleared the room of fleas, ticks, and people alike. Thankfully, the smell didn’t linger too long on his coat like it did in our room. That said, we do travel/hike a lot and he goes in the cars and RV so it’s important that he has good tick/flea repellent. I’ve noticed he isn’t scratching and licking like he was, so the “old lady smell” was a good trade off! The smell faded but the benefits haven’t yet. I received this product for free to try and write a review. To start, the smell of this is really strong in smaller spaces. I personally made the mistake of using it on my dog in the bath tub after a quick dry off from his normal bath. I ended up getting the spray hitting the back of the tub and coming towards my face. I did get a bit on my tongue, which I had some discomfort for about an hour – but thankfully none of the ingredients are toxic to humans for the amount that got in my mouth. Aside from the mishap – which I completely take responsibility for because in hindsight that was a bit dumb, it seems great. My dog has sensitive skin, and it doesn't seem to be reacting to him. He seems quite content with it. From his normal walks, no fleas or ticks – but we're still in the early days of spring and the weather isn't quite warm enough to determine if this will hold up all summer long. While she was in the water I picked quite a few off of her by hand. Two or three times a week, I get her down and pick them off. Do not give to small dogs especially non spayed females In 2020 gave our 2 small dogs flea away within a month the smallest dog developed swelling and lumps in her mamory gland which quickly developed into cancerous tumor she died within 2mos. I watched fleas run down the drain. Then I used a flea comb while he was still wet. The two fleas I found in the comb were dead. Used to use a brand from the vet for years and they recently changed the formula and it no longer worked the same, it also had horrible effects on the entire family fur babies included! We had a terrible outbreak of fleas this last spring and had to purchase something locally and very urgently so in a way you could say we where forced into “settling” for this product along with the hartz home spray. We where very pleasantly surprised that this product worked nearly instantly to rid our poor fur babies of all the dreadful little buggers that had been making life miserable. We all have extremely sensitive skin in our household and this product offered nothing but relief to the entire home. Did not prevent ticks. Made my pup shed an insane amount. Needed to go to vet to get my 6 month old dog weighed to see how much he went up in size for flea and tick medication after finding one on him, we decided to get him this product while we waited to see the vet- after shampooing with this product and ensuring he was tick free, a new one appeared the day after his bath very alive and not affected by the shampoo used or repelled by it. Thankfully was able to get into the vet to have him weighed and get him his medication but this does not do as advertised as far as ticks are concerned. After looking more into this product i was very concerned to see what other pet owners went through by using this product.anon

I live in a crazy flea ridden area. Southern swamp fleas are really tough to keep away. If you've got the money, go with Nexgard. We don't, so we tried this product out. It works just as well as Frontline, which here, isn't wonderfully but good enough. When we lived in IL Frontline was plenty. We also wash pet bedding often, and use food grade diatomaceous earth. You've eaten it many times without realizing, farmers use it on wheat and other crops to kill destructive insects (caterpillars and other wormies with exoskeletons). This is a very safe method for killing adult fleas, hopefully before they can lay eggs. Don't buy the pool stuff, get food grade. Sprinkle it on the carpet before vacuuming. Once fleas come into contact with it, they die within 4 hours – it slices up their exoskeletons. Obviously we can't coat every flea, but doing this regularly really cuts down on the problem (nyuk) and is much safer than harsh chemicals – plus, no smell. Just like talcum powder, flour, and other particulates, avoid breathing it in, as it can be an irritant to your and your pet's lungs (no tossing it in the air and dancing under it naked, but a little shouldn't hurt). For those hard to vacuum areas like under furniture, sprinkle a bit and leave it. There are also these bulb things you can buy to spread the dust more evenly, but it's cheap so we just use a sifter or shaker bottle with small holes. We killed them inside, but they kept reappearing. We realized we have a screened in porch with sand and gravel right outside the back door. Fleas love that stuff. Sprinkled it in the gravel and added the porch to the regular DE routine and now it's unusual to find those devils. Our dog has bad allergies to fleas, so they still irritate him but once they've bitten him they're kaput. Good luck! And if you life in the Southeast, my sympathies to your poor doggie!L.C.

Tried this on my dog that not only has sensitive skin , but also goes insane when bitten by a flea. Scratches and rubs herself raw and hair free in spots all over. Baths and dips made no improvement. Started using this a couple years ago and couldn't be more satisfied. I haven't noticed any side effects and she is significantly more comfortable. I know when its time to retreat. I have used Fiproguard Max for three years and have been completely satisfied then it was discontinued and replaced with Fiproguard Plus. Thanks to that I have been fighting a flea problem on my dogs and in my house!! Imagine sitting on your couch with your dog and a flea jumps on your arm, then you find them all over your dog! Mad dash to the store to buy (more $$) flea killer shampoos, sprays . Wash the dogs, all the bedding and soft furnishings, spray the house from top to bottom and guess what? In two days they're back! We purchased this shampoo, as our Rottweiler was very itchy at night. Prior to buying this, I asked how long would this shampoo work? The shampoo works immediately. Essentially it kills any live fleas on the dog, however, this shampoo is not made to continue fighting fleas days later. You need to invest in getting your dog on a flea treatment program to combat ongoing flea issues. They cost $11.99 for 300 and these you only get 90 day supply for 1dog so not enough value to go around on a large do budget. And I find I can contol fles tics better with the tabs better because I see my enviroment and see my weather and can dictatate how many pill per day per dog to give much better results. Have used these on my cats dogs for over 20yrs but gave something new a try just didn't work out ok. move on. I am not someone who takes my dogs health lightly. I try to use natural products as much as possible. We had a tick outbreak and everything I tried did not work. For some reason God had a great sense of humor and blessed me with not 1, but 3 whole dogs who have severe flea allergies/dermatitis. This means if just one flea lands on them they will chew their fur off down to the skin due to their severe allergies and irritation (I learned this the hard way after a skin graft was needed as a pup for one of my dogs). This product is a GOD SEND. A LIFE SAVER. I was doing the Seresto collars before but they stopped working and my vet recommend this instead and though it is pricey ($50 per dog for a 3 month treatment) I sometimes wait for chewy to have their big sale and stock up on it (I pay about half price when it does go on sale). You do need a vet prescription for this flea treatment, but let me tell you it is worth all the trouble you have to go through to get it lol. I have two dogs with two very different personalities. One that will eat anything he can get his mouth on and the other that is super stubborn. I always enjoyed pill flea control because my dogs are so adorable you just want to pet them all the time, and the drops just get all over your hands if you do. My vet recommended this brand after I told him how much my stubborn dog disliked his previous pill. He said dogs tend to like this taste better in comparison and even if he didn't it wasn't something I have to do every month. He was right! This stuff is outstanding. You spray it on your dog, or your home furnishings anywhere really. And you see the effects immediately. The fleas evacuate the area or pet and then die quickly. Its all natural nontoxic made from essential oils and will not negatively effect the health of anyone or anything that comes in contact with the products. There are 3 or 4 different fragrances to choose from that are not overwhelming and disapate pretty quickly but not in efficiency. Beyond impressed!!! I live in an apartment building with neighbors who have indoor/outdoor cats so naturally at the start of fall every year my apartment gets infested. Ive tried salt, baking soda, dawn dish soap in bowls and on my cat (she is strictly indoor), pesticides, bombing the house, flea baths, collars, and oral/topical flea repellents. None of which comes close to Wondercide. The cedarwood is kinda strong but within 2 minutes the fleas on my cat were dying. I really wanted to like this and have it work, but it really just didn’t do it. I have a very small raised patio on the side of my new house that’s protected from direct sun and gets a nice breeze. I love sitting out there. But noticed little mosquitoes and flying insects seem to like it too. The bottle says how much it will cover and I probably only have 1/4 of that area. But I figured I’d use half and see how it works. I felt like it worked the first 30 minutes after I used it, but I had to leave the house and do stuff. The next day when I went outside, there were mosquitoes and bugs on me within minutes. They never went away. So yesterday (2 weeks after first attempt) I sprayed the other half all over the grass, patio etc….completely drenched the area. 20 minutes later I couldn’t even sit outside anymore from all the annoying bugs.
