I am buying a gallon of this today after having bought a spray bottle size of it from Pet Supermarket on the advice of one of their clerks when looking for something to deal with really pungent odor left by roof rat that found it's way into the basement. Yeesh. I sprayed the the concrete floor and wall really well where the smell was coming from and the smell was gone just as soon as the product dried. The clerk suggested this because it was to be used on concrete and I didn't want to have to go back in and scrub or rinse or brush or vacuum. It did the trick.I've also had many geriatric cats over the years and used various products for their messes and marking issues. All of the products I'd used worked pretty well but this has worked best of any of them.At present I have a 25 year old cat who is no longer able to use the litter box regularly so besides limiting his access to most of the house, I am using pee pads and this product to clear up urine and feces that don't make it to the box.I use it on ceramic tile floor and hardwood flooring sealed with an unknown sealer. The wood floor finish is no worse for the use (but I don't let the product sit on the wood for longer than it takes to spray and wipe up) and the tile takes it like a champ. I have gone back and dry polished the wood floor to bring the shine back up as the product leaves a bit of a residue but a buff with a regular clean shammy cloth quickly takes care of that.Periodically I am cleaning both types of flooring with appropriate methods and have had no "smell-through" or resurfacing stains.After 40-ish years of multiple cats and the one episode with the roof rat visit I am happy the rat came along or I would not have known this product worked so well.K. First, if you are reading this review, please know that I am sorry you find yourself, like me, comparison shopping for cat urine remedy products, and I hope things get better. This is not on my list of "fun ways to spend Friday night," but here we are…at the mercy of an orange tabby cat….he knows who he is…. Second, I feel like I have tried every cat urine stain and odor remover product under the sun, and Skout's Honor products, especially the cat-specific products, have worked the best for me and our household. While Skout's Honor cleansers are not enzyme-based, I feel like they work just as effectively if not better than the enzyme cleaners I have tried. And, the smell of the Skout's Honor products is pleasant unlike the strong, perfume-heavy scent of many other products that just masks the cat urine odor. I have used Skout's Honor on carpet, clothing, bedding, and a mattress, and it has not stained or bleached any surface so far. My male cat peed A LOT on a brand new comforter, and this not only removed the large stain but also the truly awful smell. I was so certain I would have to throw the comforter away or burn it and was convinced that odor would haunt me even then, but the severe mess urine and odor destroyer actually worked. I’m never going back to natures miracle. This stuff really really works. I have been fostering for 12 years and it’s been a challenge to find something that completely gets rid of the smell of cat urine from soft surfaces. The smell is gone almost instantaneously. The best part about it is that there is no perfume that covers up the smell, so you can tell whether or not it is actually working. I’ve had as many as 14 in my house at a time and you cannot smell cat *at all*. I keep my house clean and this helped clean it to the next level. I have purchased both the gallon and the spray bottle. If you purchase the spray bottle, I’d advise you to put the liquid into another bottle as the skouts honor bottle is pretty terribly constructed to where the lid constantly falls off and it leaks. As luck would have it, my son got a horrible bloody nose after this product arrived. I used it to spot treat the carpet from the trail he left through the house. It worked fantastic. I like the fact that I can pour it on the spot rather than having to spray and spray to cover the soiled area. It worked like magic getting all the blood out of our carpet. The stain lifted on the first try and took minimal effort with dabbing. I only had to apply the product one time to get the spot completely out of the carpet. The spots have not attracted dirt, and the carpet has not changed in texture where I used the product. It has a wonderful fresh smell. I’ve heard of this brand before but have never used it until now and wow, I’m impressed. It does an amazing job at removing stains and neutralizes odors. If you have kids & pets, you definitely need this. I have a Beagle who does have accidents from time to time especially when no one lets him out and he’s left by himself. I just blot up the mess (paper towels work best because I can just throw them away) then I squirt a decent amount on the stain and blot that up. The smell is gone and stays gone. I used this on my area rug and it didn’t stain or bleach it at all. It has a fresh lemon lime scent and it smells clean. So I was curious when it said this can be used for stains. On a different area rug in my living room, my son decided to use marker to color on my rug (I posted before & after pictures to show). Do yourself a favor and don't waste your money on anything else like I did. I was literally at the point of tears after buying a used sectional and realizing there was cat pee on a large section and it STUNK, like gag a maggot. I used vinegar, baking soda, then shampooed it with RugDoctor pet stain remover. Then tried Angry Orange Odor eliminator, then Rocco and Roxy urine odor remover (which actually did help but still left way too much stink in the bad spots) I used it like 3x. I bought this product after my kids, who flip houses, raved about how well it worked. Last night my year old dog was sprayed by a skunk point blank. In the process of trying to get him quarantined and deal with the smell, my clothes were saturated with the awful stink. I thought it would be worth trying this product on the horrific smell. Lots of clean up today of dog, tile floor from when I walked back in after catching said dog, and of course, everything I was wearing in addition to his bedding. I mopped with the Urine Destroyer diluted strong in water so house smells good again. I ordered this product because we had a new kitty that preferred the love seat over the liter box. I tried another product (non-Bissel) that left a perfume smell and did not discourage the kitten. I used this once following the directions and it not only removed the spot and took out the urine smell it also removed the icky smell from the previous product I tried. The kittens no longer even sniff the spot. It worked so well for what it was meant to be used for that when my husband dripped blood across our light colored carpeting I tried it on that. This works exactly the way it is supposed to. My dog has congestive heart disease and is on several heart meds and this gives him a loose stool. He does not like to have an accident in the house and every once in a while he'll just leak a little bit leaving a stain on the carpet. I was so frustrated and no matter what I cleaned with I could always smell a slight lingering smell of urine . Yuck. This is a fabulous product! I have been using it over 20 yrs! It will completely remove cat urine smell so the animal will not return and resoil, also blood, old "protein based" stains from carpet. Product when mixed (if you buy concentrate rather than the ready made) enlivens millions of beneficial bacteria to eat your odor or stain. I saved my new carpet 20 yrs ago where my cat had sprayed – must keep area "wet" so live bacteria can do their job til odor is gone! Product has light clean smell – not toxic as I have lung disease. BTW Still have same carpet! Cat never resoiled area! Also removes vomit stains, etc. that have dried in carpet. Great over all addition to carpet shampooer. This has been a lifesaver with a new puppy. Makes cleaning up messes quick and painless. We have run through a couple bottles of it now and have had a bit of issues with the sprayer, it seems like a spring mechanism in it breaks so the trigger doesn’t return and makes it hard to quickly spray things in having to manually pull the button up after each spray. This was an ok cleaner for pet related messes. I bought the one that has enzymes that is suppose to help neutralize the smell. I have a small chihuahua and even though she’s trained to go to the bathroom outside or on a pee pad, she still sometimes loves to go on any carpets/mats we have lying around our house. This spray helped with cleaning that up but I honestly didn’t really notice it helping to eliminate or neutralize the urine smell. It got most of the stain out but to get rid of the smell or to prevent her from going back to that same spot, I still have to take the carpet and wash it in my washing machine. It’s handy to have if she eats something bad and throws up on the tile or hardwood floor but in terms of neutralizing smell, not so much. Would I buy it again? Maybe. My go to for pet odor/urine remediation. This stuff is formulated with enzymes that break down the protein in pet urine that gives pet urine its lovely aroma. Mix with water, spray it on whatever has been soiled, and let it dry. As it dries, the enzymes in this formula break down the protein in the urine. Once dry, wash/launder like normal. I purchased this because I lived in a rent house where some poor dog was locked in a room by someone before me and he urinated down the wall. The urine apparently ran down behind the baseboards and the stench made that room unbearable. I had tried everything imaginable to neutralize that terrible smell. Then I ordered Out! The first thing you must know about Enzymatic cleaners is that, because of how they work, you cannot use anything else on the stain/smell before you use this, or it won't work. So it did not fix my problem of the stench in that room. I moved to another house instead. The good news is, I then had this Out! when one of my dogs decided the place to poop was behind my desk and down the front of one of my antique trunks. It was seeping into the carpet and stinking up the whole office when I found it. And it was about half liquid poop. The worst kind to clean up. I grabbed the Out! and went to work. Several hours later, you could not smell or see where the poop used to be! Part of the instructions say to spray this around the spot as well, to saturate it so it will get down into the padding as well, so I did, and that worked completely. I am very pleased with this product! I have used it for various stains and odors and it has worked well – helped to eliminate them and kept my home smelling clean and fresh. A nice citrus scent. It is a concentrate that you mix with water (follow directions) for what you need. Used it as a spray in a bottle. Since it is a concentrate, you use less than in store bought products in a bottle. This orange scented odor & stain remover comes in a concentrated form. I did exactly what the directions stated and diluted one ounce of concentrate with 15 ounces of water in a spray bottle. The concentrate bottle makes it easy to mix with pre-measured ounce marks on the label. I live with my husband, two teenage boys and a cat. This is going to come in handy! LOL I tested the diluted orange concentrate on a shoe bench cushion. See the pics for the great results. My only complaint is the scent. I am not a citrus scent fan, but it does what it says and covers any smells and removes stains. If they offered other scents I would be a fan for life. I have several stain removers from online natural cleaning websites that are also in concentrated form and they do not work.
