Sorry not a review but a question. Sounds like this works well but I have a horrible time keeping my Shepard from licking his wounds. My big guy isn't exactly what you might call graceful. He's a dork. A giant clumsy dork. So little aches and pains are just a part of our life together. I'm taking ibuprofen because he's nearly pulled my shoulder out of socket after trying to run and hide from the wind and he's taking his doggy aspirin because he tripped over his own feet while running and now yelps every step he takes. These really do help. They're easy to give wrapped in a little bread or dipped in peanut butter. I combined this with Charlotte’s Web Hip and Joint hemp for my dog with osteoarthritis. She could barely walk for three days. I used it on my German Shepard who is itchy from allergies. It soothed her and cut out the scratching. I would definitely recommend. I did a little research on the product before I used it to see if anyone had any major issues when they tried it. I use it a couple times a week or more depending on how flaired up she gets. I have four dogs, the most recent being a Saint Bernard. While I knew floppy eared dogs had more of a risk of ear infections, I didn't really think a Saint Bernard's ears were that floppy. Well after two ear infections that I went to the veterinarian for meds, I talked to a longtime Saint Bernard owner who said they keep their own personal supply of ear meds on hand. So I started searching…I read nothing but great reviews about this product, so I purchased. Once it arrived, conveniently my Saint Bernard had started to develop that ear funk smell and redness. I began using it as the bottle instructed and low and behold the ears got 100% better within days! I now use this regularly when ear problems start to arise and the wax starts to build up. I don't necessarily need to use it for the 7 to 14 day period now, it's more of just a spot treatment as needed and boy does it work. I generally put some on a cotton ball, put in the ear and massage. Then I'll go through with q-tips and wipe away excess wax while also adding the solution onto the q-tips. Same story as others with constant vet trips and put on meds for ear infection only to go back a month later for the same thing. Then 2 days before a Holiday I could not get in to my vet as they were too busy and booked up. I knew my cocker's ears were hurting. I started the zymox and the next day went to emergency vet. My cat has had a chronic ear issue for the past year or so, has developed acute swelling in his face and most recently suddenly developed a large lump under the affected ear. He has been treated by the vet w/ various meds and is on Prednisone. Everything tried has only worked temporarily and his ear and sinus infections have become chronic. He is 15 and the vet doesn't give hm much chance at improving. He has had various allergy issues most of his life. Regular ear cleanings by the vet seemed to improve his condition, so when I found out about Zymox I decided to give it a try. Well, after 7 days of treatment, the lump has all but disappeared and his sinuses are finally draining, reducing the swelling in his face ! I chose Zymox Hydrocortisone free because of all the meds he's been bombarded with, will treat him for 14 days to see where this takes us, but am VERY optimistic ! The vet is impressed and since he knows about Zymox, am disappointed he didn't recommend it sooner. The only problem now is he had gone off his food and I have been finger feeding him as well as spritzing water into his mouth. He had lost 2lbs from refusing food, but seems to be bouncing back. Any suggestions for the loss of appetite possibly brought on by the fact he may not be smelling as well and eating may have become difficult from the sinus issue ? I'm quite surprised with the reviews that say this product doesn't work. For my dog, it truly was a LIFE SAVER! I've been battling with my dogs hotspots (and dry, flaky skin) off and on ever since we moved back to the Midwest, at least a year of her issues. I've tried shampoos, conditioners, a handful of trips to the vet to trial different foods, and hundereds of dollars later I honestly just gave up. I started putting alternative topical agents on her that simply gave a temporary resolution. While traveling out of town, she (Mini Schnauzer) had a really bad case, to the point where she was starting to bleed. Tea oil, hot spot spray and the above HomeoPet drops were what I returned with, after another visit to the pet store. After the first day her redness had diminshed greatly and she wasn't itching nearly as much. By two, she wasn't itching AT ALL. I decided to remove the Tea oil and spray since I'd used them in the past without long-term results. It's been a week and my schnauzer has had 3-5 drops a day, oral dose of this product and she is doing exceptional! Seriously! No redness, no scratching. Today I hadn't given her any since yesterday afternoon and she started scratching again. I gave her 3 drops and about a couple hours later, again, her scratching is gone. This product worked exceptionally on my dog. On the other hand, I don't think her issues were due to food allergies, vs environmental surroundings, my guess. I have a cat that has a tendency to lick patches of fur off her front legs when the weather turns either warm or cold in the summer and winter. The vet told me it's likely due to seasonal allergies. Well, after a couple of years of having to take the cat to the vet twice a year and spending upwards of $200 each time, I looked for an alternative and came across Hot Spots. I have 6 small breed rescued dogs that are all seniors. I've been using this for all, except one dog for many years. One of my dogs has a very sensitive stomach and can't use this supplement (I believe it's a beef and/or liver sensitivity), but the other dogs have no problem at all. They like the taste and most importantly it really helps! All of my dogs being seniors, 9yrs up to 18yrs (yep, 18 yrs old) have joint issues from age and this really seems to help with joint pain and even joint popping/cracking. They seem to be able to play more on this supplement too! If I ever run out, I noticed their joints popping more often and after only a couple days of using this product I notice a big difference. I haven't used this for larger breeds or younger adult dogs, but I imagine it would be great for them too, especially with all the joint issues that come with larger breeds. FYI, ALL the supplement sizes are the same product but with different sized scoops and dosage instructions based on the scoop size. I believe all the jars except the smallest size come with a larger scoop (supposedly 1oz, but seems to be more IMO) and the dosage instructions are based on the included scoop. So, if you're like me and buy a large sized jar for multiple smaller dogs, make sure to check the dosage instructions on the small size jar accurate instructions. Or maybe just contact the company for more accurate dosage instructions. My lab/beagle mix suffers from skin allergies, and the poor thing will scratch and chew herself until she bleeds, so I was very eager to try this product. My cat seems to have a habit of biting her fur off, usually after I have put flea medication on her. We have discovered she is a bit allergic to ingredients in most flea medication. My poor pupper got irritated paws from horrible ginko berries smashed all over the fall ground and then made them worse by licking. They were so red and I felt so bad. This product is on the shelf next to a dozen others that claim to do the same thing, but I didn't get to it until three others didn't get the job done. This showed visible improvement within a day. Bonus that he didn't lick it off – before I tried this I would combo an antimicrobial with one of those "bitter taste dogs hate" sprays, but my dog is weird and loved those things and would lick them like crazy. I'm completely blown away by this product. I stopped giving apoquel to my dog, not only because of the expense (costing more than $200 a month), but also because of all the reviews I have read about the danger to a dog's immune system with prolonged use. But my large German shepherd continued to scratch and scratch and scratch. After the first application of Skin Tonic Spray for Pets & People, his itching subsided greatly. After the second application a few days later, he stopped scratching completely. I don't know how you managed it, but this stuff is gold! I have intentionally waited to write a review because I wanted to give enough time to see if the Fidoplex was going to make a difference. I bought this supplement a year ago because my cavalier king charles spaniel had recently experienced two bad episodes with ivdd and she’s only 4 years old. It’s so painful to see your little one suffer like that and the treatment is slow to help, although the laser treatments and steroids did return her to her old self. We took our Newfie/Lab to the vet to get vaccinated for a training class. Shortly after his shots, he developed a skin allergy with two hot spots on each hip. The vets thought it was a staph infection and put him on antibiotics & steroids. The issue reappeared after he finished the meds. The other vet thought he had skin allergies & put him on a 2nd round of steroids & antibiotics. That's when we searched online and found Wondercide. The Skin Tonic worked! He stopped licking the two areas and his skin healed. He has a healthy coat of new fur where the bald spots were. Lessons learned: vaccinating our boy caused him to have skin problems.
