My dog had an allergic reaction to the antibiotics he was on after having a few teeth pulled. The itch was driving him crazy. Sorry not a review but a question. Sounds like this works well but I have a horrible time keeping my Shepard from licking his wounds. Even when I cover them he trys to get the bandage off to get at them. It says this provides some pain relief, so I'm hoping that will discourage the licking. My avid little mouser cat caught herself a little prize just a few days before a month-prior planned trip my husband and i were unavoidably about to go to. Apparently that mouse had bitten her back in the process, right on her tender little lip cleft! Before we knew it, that bite had gotten infected so bad she became lethargic, her face swollen an angry shade of red, she could not eat or even drink on her own and she could not even close her mouth and was drooling on herself. Because of the covid situation and proximity of timing to our trip to see family, there was no way to get her to a vet in time before we had to leave in 3-4 days. So we did the best we could with a dropper to feed and water her and rushed out to get Vetericyn to help stave off the infection which reduced the angry redness to a healthier pinkish. For the very few days we had before we had to go, I was keeping her hydrated and was spraying her face with the Vetericyn regularly (as directed) even as we headed out the door with one last treatment. We did cut our weekend trip short by a day out of concern for her, but when we came back she was doing significantly better in that the swelling was down, but was reddened again. Using this for hot spots on my canine, this stuff does work but it sometimes can take up to 2 8oz. Bottles to heal the area's treated. Not sure if it's the strength of medicine or just those stubborn spots. I caught the spots early on and started treating them immediately and have been treating them for a month now and they are getting better but slowly, these things are stubborn. I can say that absolutely nothing else I tried worked. Believe it or not, I read online the other day that rubbing Pepto Bismol on hot spots actually works, you heard right, Pepto Bismol. I haven't had the nerve to try it as I thought it could just be some nut trying to infect your pet even worse. I bought this for my dog Tilly – who stepped on a Thawn – and has constantly been licking her paws. It caused and infection in her foot so I immediately started searching for other creams or antibacterial sprays. I found this 5 star product as the first pop up I saw, and thought it looked a great amazing cream with almost all positive reviews and at first I saw no impact on the feet and considered changing creams to a spray instead but I gave it one more night and when I woke up the next morning the impact for her was huge! This is like the miracle product for wound care. I used this for 15 years on my 2 Arab mares. I always bought it in the can and just scooped it out with my fingers and really covered the wound. Because it's greasy the flies absolutely cannot get at the wound. No dirt, dust, or any other debris can get in the wound, either. Protects against infection because the wound heals fast and remains covered against parasites, or bacteria. I've used it on both small and large wounds, and also to cover a very large area of stitches after my one Arab sliced her face open at a boarding facility. She had field plastic surgery, and afterwards I always kept this product across the stitches. The flies wanted after that area real bad. You might want to apply it every time wearing latex gloves because it is greasy. Keep the wound covered with this until it has completely healed. I just globbed it on with my fingers. I have used this product for years & years. I had sold hundreds of jars of it in my feed store. It is awesome for scrapes, cuts, sores, anything. I always keep a jar in the medicine cabinet though it is "not recommended for human use". A 14 ounce jar lasts me for 10 or 12 years & mine was about empty so I ordered a new one. To my surprise the company had been sold & the formula changed. It no longer contains oxyquinoline, the ingredient which is therapeutic. I've tried the Veterinary Formula Clinical Care Antiseptic and Anti fungal Spray for Dogs and Cats on a few of our outside cats. They've been deflead but one still kept scratching and losing fur just above her tail. I'm not sure if it's an allergic reaction to the fleas or if it's the result of a thyroid problem. But we tried this spray and the itching stopped immediately. It's been almost 3 weeks and she still isn't scratching it. I also wanted to try this on some ringworm that a few of the outside cats have. I've been spraying this on for almost 3 weeks now but haven't really seen any improvement with the ringworm spots that I'm treating. Ringworm can respond slow to treatments anyway so I'm not sure if this is going to help with that or not. The spray is a pump and it has a light citrus smell, kind of like oranges. It will not harm your pet if they lick it. It didn't list a minimum age that you can use it on. It contains Chlorhexidine Gluconate, Keratin, and Aloe Vera. It's listed as an antifungal, antimicrobial, and antibacterial. To use this you just spray the area tell really wet, twice daily for a week, then once daily for another week. I read the reviews for this product but was still a bit skeptical for it to actually work. One of my cats (2 yr old orange tabby) literally scratched the size of a 50 cent bare spot (literally overnight) in center of his back below shoulder blade. By the end of the day the circle was warm red inflamed and gross. Being on a tight budget I did my research for home remedies. First I began applying a year old vet prescribed Dermalone antibiotic that was prescribed for one of my other cats for 3 days but area got worse. Then began applying Neosporin for 2 days lightly on and around scab now and ( luckily the spot was where he could not reach to lick off) and it did nothing as well. A week later purchased this product, followed the directions and a week later the area was completed healed. Scab dried and fell off and new skin looks perfect and normal. Unfortunately I dont know what this was for did not take him to a vet. Infected area did resemble pictures of ringworm online. The healing process made it itchy so she'd rub her face on the carpet thus rubbing off the scab and the wound would bleed and we had to start the healing process over. My toy poodle has been having some digestive issues. Sometimes he has no appetite in the morning and wants to eat grass and throw up. I now give him one of these chews as a treat in the morning before serving his meal and it seems to help. I like the lineup of bacteria in the chews as well as the pumpkin and carrot. I have a black lab that has really sensitive skin. A few months ago he chewed his tail until it was a raw bloody mess. I picked this up at PetSmart and applied it twice that day. The next day you could see it was already healing! On the third day I didn't need to use it anymore as the wound was almost normal again. I keep a bottle of the spray AND a tube of the cream on hand at all times. I've even used it on myself with the same great outcome. You can't get much better than this stuff. I truly am impressed with how well this product works. My dog recently dug a hole in our backyard and cut her paw on some wood chips. Love these kits. I have the small kit that I keep in my truck at all times and then a larger kit that I always have with me when on big hikes as well as in my off-grid camping trailer. With 3 dogs, all of which have health issues (and are magnets for trouble) this is a must. The only thing I wish was different was I wish these bags were insulated and a little bigger to leave space for meds that you may need/want to add for your specific pup. I have to carry some meds for all three of my monsters and in the summer it gets crazy hot. Having insulation to keep them more temperature-controlled would be a nice addition.FifinellaCA
Nice kit to have when I take my dog on hikes with me. But…. discovered that the hydrogen peroxide packet leaked and ruined everything else in the kit. The leak proof bag kept everything inside safe from the elements but not from itself! Will replace some of the contents but not the peroxide. Very disappointing.Paul
I received this product a couple of weeks ago and it has came in handy for our camping gear. I have three adventurous dogs who love the outdoors. I have had to rig up bandages and gear for them but this is so much better. Each product in this kit is well thought out for what you may need for a camping or hiking trip with your dogs. I may not need all of it at once but it gives me peace of mind knowing that it is right there at the ready if I do need it. Each product seems durable which is necessary with these type of items. The bag also comes in handy to store everything and keep it in a safe place that is also easily accessible. It is pretty light and has handles which makes it nice for clipping on to my dogs hiking vest. I am also pleased with the first aid handbook because sometimes I am not sure what to do in certain instances. I had to wrap a dog's hind leg for more than 3 1/2 months while he healed from having a giant tumor removed (skin atrophied…had to grow back an area about 3" by 4"). Ease-Off spray allowed me to do a smaller wrap, taping to the hair on the leg to prevent slipping. Alternative was a full leg-toe wrap that was causing hot spots and yeast growth in the toes, not to mention muscle atrophy. It's expensive, but worth it.PElmes
We are using this spray as part of our process to remove the ear posts from our baby blue doberman. As any owner can attest, removing the adhesive tape as part of changing the posts can be one of the most stressful, and potentially, painful part of remove the posts from your little one. There are other products that can be used, but our vet strongly recommended using this spray. It performs exactly as promised. We spray the ear tape and wait 20-ish seconds, and then the tape comes off very easily and does not leave the adhesive behind. The best part is that it is absolutely harmless and painless to our puppy and makes the whole process so much easier since she is not anticipating any pain involved. Given that we have to apply the ear tape and remove them every 3-5 days over a 3 month period, this product is priceless.Joseph
My dog ended up with a serious open wound after pulling out her stitches and subsequent staples such that her post-operation scar could no longer be closed. As a result, I had to change her bandage twice a day. For the most part, I tried loosening up the 3M tapes by soaking the back of the tape with warm water. That provided some assistance, but was time consuming and only marginally effective. At my vet, I saw them use this magic spray and take off the bandage with no problem at all. EntirelyPets is literally the only place selling it to non-vets. My only regret is that I didn't find it sooner. It's somewhat expensive for a small bottle, but there is no substitute.jphennessey
