This stuff is the difference between being able to be outside and confined to the house if you have Type O blood. The mosquitoes seek us out. I have one in the house, one in the car and one in my purse. I never leave home without it. The secret to success is to apply it as soon as you are bitten. The next day is too late. When it first starts to itch and you first see the bite, apply it. Usually two applications will do it. Not only am I Type O I am also allergic. When I'm bitten I will get a spot 6 inches around and bright red. No other product works. If your children tell you it burns you waited to long. This couldn’t have come at a better time! We’ve been infested with ankle-biting mosquitos this year, as well as the typical spiders. Due to this my feet and ankles have been an itchy mess, and it has been hard to find an effective product until now. Upon initial use, After Bite cured my itching within seconds, and lasted all day. I want to add before I start my review that I no longer use Burt’s Bees products because I wanted something stronger for my dogs. I also originally bought this product with the intention of using it for one of my dog’s dry skin. With that being said I have a miniature poodle with severe allergies that caused him to scratch at himself until he was bleeding and scratched off the skin in multiple location on his body. He is now medicated and is a lot better with the correct products. This product did help with his allergies minimally but did help his over all coat a lot. His coat was soft and shiny after using the product and after a few weeks his dry skin that was caused by a previous product was much better. I would recommend this product to any dog with dry skin or in need of a moisture boost.anisha.d

This conditioner is perfect. Barely scented. Doesn't affect my allergies. Tried first spraying brushes and all the static fur stayed on the brush. My dog didn't mind the product and the next day I started spraying directly on coat and then brushing. In less than 10 days I could pet her without fur flying everywhere. Her fur feels so soft. My dog is a sensitive skin and gets itchy very often but most of the products out there are for odors only/healthy fur look instead of her health in general. My dog almost constantly licks her feet. I have tried so many different ointments and sprays and nothing seems to work. I was excited to give this hydrocortisone spray a try. Surprisingly it worked. I used it on my German Shepard who is itchy from allergies. It soothed her and cut out the scratching. I would definitely recommend. I did a little research on the product before I used it to see if anyone had any major issues when they tried it. I use it a couple times a week or more depending on how flaired up she gets. I do like that it's an all natural product. I also use the Burts Bees shampoo and conditioner as well. Remember if the dog has opened sores do not use the product you would need to see a vet or get the sores to clear up first before applying.michelle.j

This hot spot spray works really well for my dogs. The lidocaine stops the itchiness quickly and the bitterness keeps them from licking and chewing. Fortunately, I do not need to use it often, but after a good rain we can be overrun with mosquitoes and all four dogs get bitten. A little bit goes a long way and I found that for different fur types/areas, it is best to spray onto a cotton swab or cotton ball and then apply directly to the affected area.geochic77

My baby girl has been suffering from a hotspot on her front leg for the past couple of months. She's never gotten them before, but I account that to moving from NY to FL and being subjected to the different climate and nature of bugs down here. Purchased this product with not much confidence made a huge difference in my GSD allergies. Sprayed on the area he was chewing when he would begin chewing. It gave him instant relief, he now comes to get the area sprayed when he chews. I am going to use the same product which is an ointment to see how well it does. Rosebud was biting at her nether parts due to itching. This applied liberally relieved her jitters. I got this because we had two other dogs several years ago who were both affected by itching in different doggy-parts (stomach, behind, etc) and I used a similar product for them which also worked well. My cat has had repeated uti's involving emergency vet visits and a lot of stress. When the antibiotic wears off, the infection returns. I was at Petco on Sunday and saw this product and decided to buy it in case there was another infection. My cat had a crisis 2 days later with very extreme symptoms. I gave her 5 drops and noticed no change. So I did it again in 15 minutes and she began to calm down. While I am not really one to normally write a review, I research other reviews diligently and thought it was time I started- especially to brag on this product and hopefully help someone else. Case: Mittens is a 3 year old female never with any previous UTI issues, Food: ate frisky crunchies and was happy, Fast forward to 2 months ago- she started with always being wet on her bottom. It kind of threw me off because I thought it could be a problem with her rear and not bladder, it progressed to constant going in litter box and barely having anything come out. Through this time 700. was spent at vet, ultrasounds, urinalysis' , lab testing, all showing nothing but antibiotics were administered as it was obvious something was wrong. The vet was insistent about stress thought I was skeptical as absolutely zero had changed in our household and buying the 50. food just was not an expense I was ready to do at that moment. The antibiotics has slight improvement but never fixed the issue. Mittens also has to be put under aneasthesia every time we go as she is very sweet, but not a good patient. During this time I was also an my witts end not wanting to put her thru another battery of testing and my house issue. In that I mean everywhere she went she would leave wet spots and a terrible smell which simply could not go on. So I went to do what you have done if you are here, online research and came across this product. I ordered it and went to bed as it was late and would be ready for pick up the next morning. I was hopeful and excited that this could be 'it'- a cure. So we picked it up and went to work. I followed dosing as directed for an acute condition as that is what we had. I had to administer via wet food because a syringe simply does not work with her. We did 10 drops every 15 minutes for the first hour and went on as directions said the whole time via food, 2nd day three times a day 10 drops each meal, and 3rd day back to initial dosing of 10 drops every 15 minutes for the first hour and 2 more times that day. I was not seeing the 'immediate result' some people had at that point. I will also say I was feeding her uti proplan wet food only during this time. We started Sunday morning and I did not notice relief until Tuesday evening- We were getting a stream of urine. I was so happy I could cry! Now we are at Thursday and we seem to be almost normal. Absoulutely AMAZING, have patience this stuff works! I am going to continue dosing twice a day and maybe even once a day for prevention going forward. I got this after I noticed my kitty using her litter box repeatedly and licking herself constantly. I added it to her water yesterday and today and have been giving her the drops directly in her mouth. This spray helps relieve itch and irritation. It can be used on cats or dogs !!!! I have one cat who loves go rub her nose on things so her nose gets a spot on it… this has helped with that whole situation. It also has helped my 3 legged fur baby not dig at her skin. My dog was being swarmed by flies because of all the open wounds she had due to scratching her skin constantly due to a bad rash. I tried several prodcuts but nothing was working. This has been a complete life saver. My elderly dog keeps chewing one specific spot. With many expensive vet trips, we've tried so many things that I was feeling discouraged. My pet Koko is a 4 year old Cooker S and he has certain spots on his body that will itch until the fur is gone and the skin is broken. The hydrocortisone didn't seem to be doing enough. I'm completely blown away by this product. I stopped giving apoquel to my dog, not only because of the expense (costing more than $200 a month), but also because of all the reviews I have read about the danger to a dog's immune system with prolonged use. But my large German shepherd continued to scratch and scratch and scratch. After the first application of Skin Tonic Spray for Pets & People, his itching subsided greatly. We took our Newfie/Lab to the vet to get vaccinated for a training class. Shortly after his shots, he developed a skin allergy with two hot spots on each hip. The vets thought it was a staph infection and put him on antibiotics & steroids. The issue reappeared after he finished the meds. I've used this product for almost 3 weeks. And she's got more fleas now than she did to begin with. I gave her a bath and there were what looked like hundreds of fleas in the water. While she was in the water I picked quite a few off of her by hand. Two or three times a week, I get her down and pick them off. It says this product repels, but it really seems like it attracts them! She scratches all the time! And has running sores. I sure hope this stuff is guaranteed!!! Do not give to small dogs especially non spayed females In 2020 gave our 2 small dogs flea away within a month the smallest dog developed swelling and lumps in her mamory gland which quickly developed into cancerous tumor she died within 2mos. The other dog developed the same swelling but it progressed very slowly she now has the same type of growth on her we don't know how long she will live. It can't just be a coincidence.Gayle Erickson

These did not help my dogs when it came to ticks. My dogs live on our farm, so we have no fleas. They were already on a monthly prescription heartworm medication, and have always tested negative. 5he skin soother is a great as described! My pup got an abrasion on the side of her snout. The healing process made it itchy so she'd rub her face on the carpet thus rubbing off the scab and the wound would bleed and we had to start the healing process over. I put skin soother on her abrasion at bed time. The next morning it wasn't red and angry looking and she didn't rub her face on the carpet. Started my pup on the skin soother after he developed allergies. He was scratching himself raw and needed a steroid taper to alleviate his discomfort. I was on frontline for years but when I thought I saw a couple fleas on my dogs in September 2020, I decided to make a switch to Advantage II for my cats and Advantix II for my dogs— BIGGEST mistake of my life (seriously, like over any horrible exes). I have $515.97 in receipts I submitted to the company (which was as horrible as the experience, which I will get to) and spent an additional $70 in store (in which I cannot find the receipt) since September 2020 to December. I followed every tip on the website and insert and my animals were still covered. I applied perfectly. I applied initially weekly, vacuum daily, steam cleaned, wash bedding constantly, etc. I don’t even have carpet but on the stairs and have treated the stairs and couches with Predcor. I even bought those flea traps with the sticky bottoms. I am not including any of this in that total I spent– that was all on the flea medications themselves for the 6 animals. I have saved some, not all, of the vials so on 11/13 I called Elanco. They denied my request for any type of refund. They questioned my exact dosage dates and frequency more than a doctor wants to know about your menstrual cycles but I took my best guesses, for all 6 animals although I did know what schedule they were on but didn't have it in front of me. Then they said that the product was probably not working because I bathed my dogs initially at the beginning 48 hours before application?? Their website TELLS you to bathe them before application (see 2nd screenshot posted)! I stopped bathing them after the 2nd application as it wasn't working and the dogs were miserable and only tried 2 cats (and really only 1 successfully because we all know how that goes). They then told me that I didn't give the product long enough?? Their website states (see 3rd screenshot) and is the same for Advantage II "K9 Advantix® II kills fleas within 12 hours. New fleas that jump on the dog from the surroundings, such as grass, carpet and pet bedding, are killed within 2 hours with protection against further infestation for at least 4 weeks." I tried their products, $600 worth on 6 animals, as scheduled, no missed doses for 4 months. I can’t blame it on just one animal or one batch—it didn’t work on 6, or one batch! I am very upset. Not only have I wasted money on these but I have bought corresponding products, sprays for the beddings, flea traps, etc. I FINALLY called Terminex and had to spend 12 hours clearing out under my beds, closets, getting everything off my floors, moving furniture etc. (time I will never get back) and getting my children and pets out of the house and went back to the brand that works: FRONTLINE! NO MORE FLEAS– what I should have done in the first place. I am so upset not by the fact that the product didn't work but by the way the company handled it, dodging any responsibility from blaming it on the baths they recommend to the length of time I gave it when they could have just refunded me and had someone that isn't going to not only post this review every place I bought it (not just here) but every other place that allows a review to include social media.Intelhottie

We bought Advantix liquid application anti-flea and tick treatment because it is effective, was less expensive and did not require a prescription. We had easily and successfully used liquid Advantix for years with our Plott hound mix. We now have a beagle. Beagle hair is different; it's thick, coarse, oily, kind of water proof and difficult to part in order to properly apply the liquid to the skin. Advantix is a very good product, but pet owners may want to assess their pet's coat to determine how the liquid application could be applied.Gary

My dog was getting ticks so I purchased this. I have used it in the past with great success when it had the Bayer logo on it . The one I received has the Elanco brand logo on it. I used 1 bottle and It was like I used nothing at all. Mind you I walk my dog and when he comes in the house I would find 2 or 3 live ticks walking on him. So I figured ok maybe it didnt work or I didnt wait long enough. After about 10 days of this I applied another bottle and again nothing. He still kept coming in the house with ticks every time. So I'm not sure exactly what's going on but the package I received appeared to be authentic. All serial numbers matched and packages were sealed well. We used this product on our grand dog. He was a scaly, crusty mess and had lost most of his hair. We took him to the vet and put him a regimen of medicated shampoo, oral antibiotics and an immunomodulator. We used the Skin Soother immediately after his daily bath. We also have him the salmon treats daily. I believe this product helped him regain his health. His color came back and all the scales and itching were gone. So I bought another. My pug had a dark bald spot on his neck from scratching and I was looking for something that would hopefully heal the area and let his hair grow back. I discovered the skin soother and decided to give it a try and this worked like magic! I ordered the 2 oz stick version and loved it. The application was great. It was very easy and clean to apply overall. I applied it to the area twice a day for two weeks before I was able to start seeing results. The hair started growing back and the dark skin was lightening up and becoming less dry and flaky. At the same time, my dog was scratching at it less so that was a plus. Only thing is this stick was practically gone by my second week. It would not have come close to lasting the month. That being said, I had to order another to see continued results but I ordered the larger tin instead. My only issue with this product is the tin is a lot harder to apply. The texture itself is not as soft and smooth as the stick. I also had to use my own hands to spread it on which I did not like at all. It also gets messy in the tin as my pug sheds so there is now hair stuck in the product. My recommendation to the company would be to have the stick in a larger option and I would gladly purchase that. However, currently I greatly regret purchasing two of the tins instead of the smaller sticks. All in all, this product works and I would buy it again! My 22 month old extremely active male yellow Lab, Gus, developed redness and a rash on his belly area while running him 5 miles every day in and around rice fields in Glenn County, located in the Sacramento Valley in Northern California. Every bug on the planet, particularly in August, likes to bite me. Horseflies in particular cause a severe reaction and resultant swelling often requires medical intervention. The After Bite Pen is miraculous at relieving any incessant itching from insect bites. It is the only thing that works for me.
