I have used Happy Jack 40+ years but after moving off the farm 15 years ago forgot all about it and began using holistic medications, etc. Well, I do rescue and got a little jack russell with 70% of her body scarlet, oozie red, infected red ears, thick red, hairless legs, tail, chest and face. She had been ill for so long her skin was very thick and discolored. I spent hundred of dollars for 4 months without results then ran across Happy Jack again in the Tractor Supply. I bought mange medicine instead of the dip I had used before and, within 32 (I counted them) hours, her itching has stopped, her skin is now pink not red and her little swollen paws and now a normal size. I will continue to use according to the directions to make sure this is gone but might switch to the dip to treat her in 30 day cycles. My dog was scratching constantly causing hot spots an scratches that bled a little not to mention she had this smell that's was offensive. I tried other products and then I heard of this one from a friend, bought it and brought home and put it in a spray bottle to evenly spray her entire body (except in her ears, eyes, mouth or sanitary areas) and to my surprise I Seen instant relief for her and she was able to sleep peacefully and so was I. Leave on your pet for 3 days… You'll notice flakes (scabs) that's normal, wash your pet.. Let them dry completely and repeat the happy Jack mange medication. You'll start to notice the hair growing back. You'll be happy and your pet will be happy an you will have saved alot of $ then you would had you went to a vet. I bought all mange treatments from happy jack… I have a white pit with enlarged paw found out it was NOT yeast like the lying vet said it was…..another vet told me it was cancer? only after years of bull! money sucking vet visits! to find out it was mange attacking the animals for YEARS ! I ABSOLUTELY do NOT recommend this product to anyone. Your pet is better off with having the mites. I followed the directions properly, and my dog is currently at the vet having intensive care treatment given due to pyrethrin poisoning. She started vomiting and quickly declined to seizures and inability to walk correctly (stumbling all over) The seizures are bad and progressing. This is a thank you letter. I cannot thank you enough, because I believe you saved my beautiful dog's life. She is a German Shorthaired Pointer that we adopted 2 years ago when she was about 6-9 months old and was completely ravaged with mange. We immediately took her to our vet and started her on intensive treatments at his recommendation. For a full year she was continuously getting special dips and taking Cephalexin and Ivermectin, which cost us a fortune. We also had to give her antibiotics every so often for the infections that the mange would cause. The medicines would seen to work for a little while but as soon as she was off of them things would go right back like before, with her losing huge patches of hair and itching like crazy. Additionally, we became very concerned because it seemed like her personality would change a lot with the medicines and we did not want to have to medicate her for her entire life (although we love her dearly and would have paid for the medicines forever if it would have helped). When I came across some research that suggested the medicine she was on could have neurological side-effects we started looking for another way. My husband found your website and we figured we had nothing to lose. We cut out the medicines from the vet completely and instead switched to a regimen of Naturasil for Pet Mange baths, Science Diet Sensitive Skin food, and Missing Link vitamins. The change was immediately apparent and within 2 months she appeared to be completely cured. So I've used it exactly as the directions say to for about a week and noticed that my dog isn't scratching at her ears. Her ears also became noticeably cleaner. I held off on a medicine to treat his ears with that didn't contain an insecticide; they didn't work. This works and it's affordable. Be sure to use some Qtip brand swabs to remove the gunk and don't go too deep into the ear. Flush the ears with Epiotic by Virbac once done treating to remove all the debris from the mites croaking. I bought this because I moved into my mothers home with my bird which I'd had for at least two-three years. Neither I or my bird had problems, but 6 months into staying here both myself and my bird started showing signs of something and my daughter and her kids had moved in also right after I did and that's when my bird and I started getting weird things on us! I started using it as soon as it arri and I help stop the spread. I don't like vacuuming every day so this help to keep them dead. I use it as directed in my scabies eradication regime along with the Premo travel size spray, the Premo laundry additive and just recently got the Sleep guard essential oil repellent. Cocker has “dry eyes and prescribed steroids and cyclosporine twice daily each eye. Suspect his extremely elevated liver enzymes may be due to long term steroid use or could just be his age. Haven’t tested for Cushing’s but sonograms reveal no tumors on liver or pituitary glands. He was lethargic and never feeling well until his doctor advised trying the Denamarin. His Opthalmologist concurred it was a great idea. Haven’t yet tested his liver enzymes again to see if the numbers have improved (hasn’t been on them quite a full month) but I’ve reordered and will receive the pills monthly. Bottom line: he’s a lot more energetic, playing with his toys again, not sleeping all the time, just overall feeling so much better. He’s acting normal again—normal for an 11-plus year-old Cocker. Did a lot of research before giving him the Denamarin and felt they were safe, and most people had positive results using it. Only drawback would be that the pills for large dogs are really big. You’re supposed to administer 1 hr before or 2 hrs after a meal, which I do with a little piece of boiled chicken breast to hide it and help it go down, and it goes down without a problem. Can’t imagine any dog of any size being able to swallow a pill that size without an owner hiding it in a little chunk of something, cheese, pill pocket, treat. Anything to help it go down easier. And helps if they drink a little water. Can’t wait to have his liver enzymes tested again. I’m confident they will have improved. Side note: when one’s liver is not working properly, urine can have an odd and strong odor, which his did. Standing several feet away, I knew something wasn’t right. I highly recommend this product. I’ve been using Zymox for years. My terrier mix has Ear Edge Dermatitis. It’s incurable and usually tears up the edges of the ear from constant cell overgrowth (auto immune) and dogs will be plagued with constant ear issues and itching. When I notice him itching, I put a few drops in ear and massage into ear canals, then rub into the edges of ears. Do this for a couple days, itching stops, ears are clean and have a healthy pink look. It’ll be several weeks before he starts itching again. I've always liked Zymox products, but this one really impressed me! GSD/BC mix has had continual ear issues since having a hematoma drained in her right ear. The ear lays over and is full of thicker tissue which seems to hold in a ton of moisture. This last bout of pain and scratching was making her (and me!) absolutely crazy and, after a week of use, the regular Zymox I always have on hand just wasn't cutting it. I did a bit of searching and found the Zymox plus advanced formula and figured I'd give that a try before resorting to a vet visit, antibiotics, steroid drops, etc. After the second day of use, she stopped shaking her head, scratching and whining. I have bought five bottles of this so far because I like the product that much. It’s easy to attach to your garden hose and you’re able to treat a large area with one container. I like to use this heavily right on the woods line of my yard and then cover the grass. The ticks are horrible right now in NH and I feel this product really helps control them. Really strong. I used a little spot-check in the worst places because of the odor. Peppermint oil is also supposed to be good for rats which we also have this year after 12 years. I used Dr Brimmer's for that & liked it quite a bit. This stuff is really strong so be careful. I had also previously used some ENFORCER powder but that didn't seem to knock them out enough. I am hesitant to use these types of products compulsively for preventive measures. Fortunately, We’ve not been in an area where fleas are out of control outside, as we have had problems in the past with other pets. These types of topical medicines would only be effective for a maximum of 1 1/2 to 2 weeks at best. And then our previous dog, and coincidentally our cat also, developed tumors where these types of medicines were being applied. I can’t say for certain that they were the cause. But it’s very suspicious that it happened in both animals. The dog we noticed first. And maybe a year or so later our cat. They both lived to past 11 years. And our dog was also on meds for epilepsy. Only briefly because he would spit out the meds no matter how clever I thought I was in hiding them. So, since he refused to take them, I stopped trying to make him. His grand mal seizures were frequent and long lasting. But, he just got better at spitting out the pills, even if I shoved them down his throat. i have only had to use these topicals a few times in our current dogs short life, so far. And it seemed to work fine and for as long as it said it was supposed to work. And when she or we seem a bit more itchy, I apply it again, and wait until it’s “needed”, again- as opposed to routinely scheduled once every month. And in my opinion, it works better than capstar, which is meant as a short acting topical to immediately relieve a flea problem getting out of control. But for whatever reason, this works better for us, even though it might take a few days to really notice results. (I never really noticed immediate results with. Capstar. It helped make the problem not get any worse. But it didn’t solve the problem either.)shelly.c
I absolutely loved this for my fur babies! What I DID NOT love was that like this past year, flea/tick season was so weird! Twice I found LIVE TICKS on me, after loving up on my baby boy, Lizard. (Male black n white cat) He is an indoor/outdoor baby, but I haven't ever had a problem like this until now. Worth mentioning, my female brindle colored cat also had irritation from this year's applications. She has to have prednisone each day, along with a topical treatment, otherwise she's in agony from inflammation and itching! I am NOT stating that it was the fault of this brand. Don't really know what changes was done to the formula . But Advantage 2 works no where near as good as it as the original formula . My cat(s) for years have always been an inside cat & used it for years with great success. I recently adopted a cat & started using Adtg.2. A week to a week & a half is about tops before you start to see your cat start scratching again. Not good especially for what they charge for the stuff.
