I'm quite surprised with the reviews that say this product doesn't work. For my dog, it truly was a LIFE SAVER! I've been battling with my dogs hotspots (and dry, flaky skin) off and on ever since we moved back to the Midwest, at least a year of her issues. I've tried shampoos, conditioners, a handful of trips to the vet to trial different foods, and hundereds of dollars later I honestly just gave up. I started putting alternative topical agents on her that simply gave a temporary resolution. While traveling out of town, she (Mini Schnauzer) had a really bad case, to the point where she was starting to bleed. Tea oil, hot spot spray and the above HomeoPet drops were what I returned with, after another visit to the pet store. After the first day her redness had diminshed greatly and she wasn't itching nearly as much. By two, she wasn't itching AT ALL. I decided to remove the Tea oil and spray since I'd used them in the past without long-term results. It's been a week and my schnauzer has had 3-5 drops a day, oral dose of this product and she is doing exceptional! Seriously! No redness, no scratching. Today I hadn't given her any since yesterday afternoon and she started scratching again. I gave her 3 drops and about a couple hours later, again, her scratching is gone. This product worked exceptionally on my dog. On the other hand, I don't think her issues were due to food allergies, vs environmental surroundings, my guess. My poor pupper got irritated paws from horrible ginko berries smashed all over the fall ground and then made them worse by licking. They were so red and I felt so bad. I didn't have issues with price, service or delivery but wanted to give it only 1 star overall as was so disappointed with the quality. The material is really flimsy. I left my dog unsupervised with it while I made a cuppa and when I got back he had managed to chew a whole corner off. Considering the plan was to have this in his crate with him to help keep him entertained if we were out, it is useless. If your dog likes to chew even a tiny bit, don't buy this product. Love the Lickimat. So easy to use and the pooch loves it too. Slows down the slurping when she gets dog yoghurt or icecream meaning she can enjoy the treat for longer. My big guy isn't exactly what you might call graceful. He's a dork. A giant clumsy dork. So little aches and pains are just a part of our life together. I'm taking ibuprofen because he's nearly pulled my shoulder out of socket after trying to run and hide from the wind and he's taking his doggy aspirin because he tripped over his own feet while running and now yelps every step he takes. These really do help. They're easy to give wrapped in a little bread or dipped in peanut butter. My only complaint is they're chewable but at least for my dog, he will absolutely not chew it on his own. Definitely recommend though especially at this price!jennifer.f
I combined this with Charlotte’s Web Hip and Joint hemp for my dog with osteoarthritis. She could barely walk for three days. After two hours of taking this she is running and playing around even in the cold weather. Our dog twice got foxtail seeds in his paws which lead to serious infections. He missed a hunting trip and the second time his paw was huge with the infection and had to be lanced. Poor fella. I found Musher's Secret online and took a chance. He never got another seed or infection in his paws. We've now have two small dogs who are having a hard time this winter on the snow and ice. Both of them come inside from going out for 2-3 minutes (I set a timer.) limping with ice crusted on their paws. I'm sure Musher's Secret is going to take care of this problem. My dog had an allergic reaction to the antibiotics he was on after having a few teeth pulled. The itch was driving him crazy. Sorry not a review but a question. Sounds like this works well but I have a horrible time keeping my Shepard from licking his wounds. Even when I cover them he trys to get the bandage off to get at them. It says this provides some pain relief, so I'm hoping that will discourage the licking. I bought this for my one dog's really dry paws. He'd scratch me with his paw pads every time he'd put them on me. Honestly, it did work well; within a few days his paws were already looking and feeling better. However, he hates having his paws touched, so it's a bit of a struggle each time (despite easing him into it). The smell is fairly neutral; it actually smells like a humectant I used to use on my hair. Musher secret pet paw protection is used year round for both my dogs. Living in the NYC, I deal with snow, salt, ice, and blistering pavement in the summers, and this product is an absolute miracle and super easy to apply. In the winter, I put it on their paws 2 to 3 times a week and they can withstand the bitter cold and salty walks. In the summer when the temperature is 80 and above, I put it on their paws and she can walk on asphalt without issue. It also helps protect their paws from pesticides and environmental allergies. So I have a beabull, mostly English bulldog. He’s a 7/8 mix. Out of nowhere his cute little black nose started getting crusty and cracked. I waited a while and it didn’t let up. A friend said there was nothing you could do but I found this online. I didn’t think it would work but we are on day four and his nose is DRASTICALLY improved. He hates when I put it on (he does that with everything ever though) so I have to put some peanut butter on a spoon and have him lick it after I apply it to his nose or he’ll just lick it right off his nose. I bought this for my dog’s (14 year old Shar Pei) keratin buildup on his nose and paws. It dissolved the stuff great and I was able to wipe off the stuff on his paws after one application. That was really impressive. My dog has fairly mild Hyperkeratosis but his nose gets a fairly thick layer of buildup, and this product allows you to remove it fairly easily after a few applications over a couple days and a cooperative pooch. I was really impressed with how well it worked. I use it now preventatively which prevents bad buildup on his nose and paws, so all in all I’m certainly a big fan. I recommend at least the 2oz can if you think you’ll use it on the paws. The 2 oz can generally lasts me a couple months even with multiple applications per day.
