I bought it for my old dog's house, I put a sheepskin in there but it still needed more heat, This worked perfectly in our outdoor dog house. At -15°C the inside of the house was 0°C. We mounted it on the ceiling which was at a 75° angle and it worked perfectly. This heater on Low gets very hot to the touch. I would not mount it on the side of a dog house where a dog could fall asleep on it. I bought a remote digital thermometer so I could monitor the temperature in there. It gave me such peace of mind knowing my old girl was warm and safe. PS, use sheepskins in the dog's house, the skin part prevents moisture from passing through into their bodies!LHunt

The directions were weak and adapter ( for large Igloo Dog house} didn't match properly. Had to go on to YouTube to figure out how to make it work. The Igloo is a constant curve making something that is not built for the curve turns into a little more work. The adapter did not compensate for the curve but I did get it installed and I am happy with it and my dog is also. The heat shield needs to be a little lager and more reflective the outside of the dog house gets hotter than I personally would like. I would still recommend it.cmswin
The bracket is supposed to fit an igloo style dog house. The dog house is curved the bracket is flat which makes it difficult to drill mounting holes for the bracket. The mounting holes on the heater were not in the correct location for the bracket (had to drill bracket for heater mounting). It came with a heat shield that did not mount correctly. Bought this for our older dog who now has to contend with the younger one pulling bedding out to position into sun. Now bedding stays in house, dogs prefer dog house now and they even smell better, not that musty smell. Extremely happy customer here. One of those products I should have bought earlier. I have had to replace 7-8 of these over the past few weeks and just ended up switching to something else from how unreliable and inconsistent these bulbs are. 1 bulb made it maybe 2 weeks and a couple bulbs lasted not even a whole 24hrs from when I bought them. The 150 watt is the only bulb that got hot enough for my bearded dragon despite being just 6 inches from his basking spot. If the bulbs were actually reliable and stayed operating as long as they say they did then they would be great, but I have tried out so many of these bulbs I have no idea how other people are getting good results, as so many of these bulbs are faulty I have given up with this brand.Elisa01
I just got a Frilled Indonesian Lizard from a Petco and needed the light for him. I originally got two 100 watt for a 40 gallon tank and it wasn’t enough. I changed out one for a 150 and it works perfectly now. My dad was silly and placed the last bulb (hot from running for many hours) on top of my humidifier and the bulb shattered. That is my only concern though.KRBear

This light produced great heat for my lizards. But, always burnt out within a week or two of having it. Which doesn't do any good having to go out every couple weeks. I was also paying 20 something, it gets quiet pricey, especially with having multiple reptiles. I switched to another light, a bit more expensive but saves me in the long run as it last longer and has UVB, UVA and Heat , so I'm not going out and buying two separate bulbs, and not spending a fortune on lights. I brought this because I couldn’t order my usual light from the internet due to light emergencies for my iguana. So I stop by the pet store to get this bulb. Got one of these in September for my hatchling box turtles and it did a great job at keeping their 50 gallon tank warm, but it just burned out. Has been on a 12 hour timer since day one, so basically got about 1,100 hours out of it. Not sure how many it's rated for, but it doesn't seem like enough.Armymama16

My bearded dragon enjoys her sleep at night SO much more now because of this heat emitter. I am so happy I got it for her. As soon as I switch her bulb out for this she closes her eyes and knows it bed time lol ! I did not bother to buy a second dome, I just switch back and forth between her light and this heat emitter every night and morning. I use a towel to unscrew it off (proceed with caution because they are 100 degrees Fahrenheit!) It's awesome that she can still get her heat and be able to sleep at night peacefully.T.L.
No more wasting money on heat bulbs that dry out my tank or heat mats that fall off. This was exactly what I needed to heat the 18x18x24 red eyed tree frog tank. I use it in conjunction with a thermostat and a ceramic dome lamp equipped with a dimmer. No trouble keeping my tank temps where they need to be. I have been using this since November 2014, it is almost March 2015, and still going strong. Can't believe how much money I wasted on heat bulbs and worthless heat mats prior to this! October 2015… still going! I am going to buy one as a backup now though in case it cuts out. I have had this plugged in 24/7 for almost a year now. Great fixture for leopard geckos and shorter enclosures around 12 inches tall. I use the 25W halogen bulbs and my leopard geckos love basking under it along with the UVB bulb. Might not be enough for bearded dragons and higher temp needing reptiles, but works great for crepuscular species.
Coil light should Not be used for Sulcata tortoise unless used in an enclosure wear there is quite a bit of distance from the to light the tortoise or light is on a maximum 4 hour timer. It seems to burn the little guys eyes. Otherwise this is a great product. I love being able to use the halogen light tho they seem to burn out rather fast if you move it around while the light is being used or if you touch it with bare hands.L.
