Dog House Door Flap For Sale (2024 Update)

I have installed these using the recommendations on the package thing and my little/medium size dog can actually use them! She goes in and out with ease and, because they are clear, she is actually encouraged to go in her house because she can have the light shining through them from the outside of her house! Also, she has a tendency to chew on everything in SIGHT (she ATE her last door!), but she has left these alone…I think they are too heavy for her to chew up! My congrats on a great product! I initially installed this on the dog house, but had to remove it in order for my dog to use the house. The plastic is thick and my toy schnauzer is not used to pushing through any barrier – we don't have a doggie door. So we removed it for now until he gets used to the house and then will install it later. It is GREAT for rainy and windy weather to help keep the dog warm, but I would recommend taking it off in warmer months as it seems it would get hot inside of the house even though it is slatted. It is very easy to remove and install. Overall I would recommend it for the cooler months, especially for rainy and windy seasons.dubbulw

Fleas and ticks have always been a re-occurring problem in my household. I have one dog, and three cats. My dog is long haired as well as one of my cats. When one of them gets fleas it turns into a never ending cycle of constant fleas and itchiness all around. I also live in Pennsylvania so ticks are also a big problems as well for me. Even though the Merial Frontline Flea and Tick Spray I find it to work the best out of all the flea and tick products I've used. I also like it because I can use it on both my dog and my cats without having to buy separate products. This spray is very easy to use. All you have to do is spray and rub it into your pets fur and skin from the neck down wearing latex gloves. Then let it go to work on the fleas. I find that as soon as I spray it on my pets, it gives them fast relief from the fleas. It starts to kill the fleas quickly. After spraying this on my pets, and then giving them a bath I find that it washes away a lot of the fleas and eggs. This is waterproof so it will continue working even if your pet gets wet. Anyways, the more I combed and washed my pets the more fleas and eggs came out. Eventually after continually using the spray it completely rid of cats and dog of the dreaded fleas, and completely killed all of them. The fleas didn't come back either. It works great at preventing and stopped the fleas from coming back again. I was so relieved at how great this works. There was also one time that my dog got a tick that was hard to get off. I sprayed it right onto the tick, let it sit, and then the tick loosened up enough so I could pull it out completely without leaving any parts of it behind. I found that this worked so much better then anything I have used for fleas and ticks before. I don't mind the price because I know that this product will work fast at completely getting rid of the problem. I only have positive things to say about Frontline, because my pets have never been irritated by it. It completely relieved them of their fleas, and made them feel much better. I would recommend this if you have flea problems, and more then one animal in your house. Quality of Ingredients The ingredients in the Frontline spray work great to get rid of fleas and ticks quickly. I found after using this I was able to wash away, and comb out most of the fleas. It also stopped the fleas from coming back after they were completely gone. There is one ingredient that has the potential to be dangerous if your pet has a reaction to it. The ingredient is Fibronil. It is none to have a few negative side effects on animals. The most common side effect is red itchy skin, but in some rare cases it can cause damage to your pets internal organs, nervous system, and even make them unable to have puppies or kittens. My cats and dog didn't have any problems with the Frontline spray, but you should always be cautious when trying out a new product. Side Effects Neither my dogs nor my three cats had any side effects from this Frontline Spray. But it does have the potential to make your pets skin dry, red, irritated, and itchy if they have an allergy to it or any of the ingredients. I would always monitor your pets skin if you are using this on them, just to make sure that they don't have any bad side effects. If they do get one of these side effects I would call your vet immediately.xheather570xx

The seals around the flap are the wrong length and do not touch the edges of the frame. Really? No QC there? The plastic is ok but won't hold my breath on it disintegrating in sunlight 😛 Anyway, instead of returning them, I have some Ozite carpet that you can get in the auto dept. and I can make proper seals and use them. I bought 4 of these. What do you expect for the $5 price?Abner8Cracak

This is a great cat door, and the price was really low! I had to do some trim as I put it in a paneled door, but it works great! Lots of how to videos online. Absolutely not for exterior door, would not be suitable at all as it isn't a sealed or insulated door; but for an interior door such as door to basement, it is perfect! Really nice item for $5 bucks! These were replacement flaps for an XL dog door. Not even the manufacturer was offering the XL size. There were very few other places that carried the size, and all were out of stock. Not only did Walmart offer the XL dog door flaps online, but they order was delivered very quickly.Irish2OH

purchased for a custom fit with a bit of trimming it is perfect! the dogs were a bit skeptical at first because it was clear…placed electrical tape verticly across the panel, problem solved! love it..mb380sel

Very solid build.

Installation is very simple.

Installation guide should have a section on adding/removing magnets but a quick online search provides videos on how to do this.

Weather seal and fit seems perfect.

There should be a better user manual for our dogs to read. 🙂Howard Sh

We got a black, large, wall mounted doggie door for our Boxer. We are very happy with the quality and the workmanship of the product. We've had another known brand, but this one beats the competition. There was a minor issue with the cover, specifically with the latch, so we called the company. Brandy tried to troubleshoot it, but couldn't resolve the issue at that moment so she had to get a hold of the Technical team and get back to us. Within 10 minutes, I got a call from her to tell me that she would be sending another cover (within 48 hours of the call!) and no need to return the faulty one.

Our mom bought a large double-flap Endura door when we were just 2 months old. We are standard poodles (no, we don't have sissy haircuts). Yesterday was our 5 month birthday, and at 45 lbs each (it's all muscle!), we like to PROPEL ourselves through the door. We raise our large paws (we're both northpaws — no southpaws here), and give the FLAP a big SLAP, and we're on our way. It took me (Rocco), only a couple of days to learn to use the door. Mom splurged and gave us BACON when we would come through door. Mmmmm, bacon. At first, she held the flaps up for us and let them drag over our backs as we went through so we wouldn't be scared. Eventually, she let the flaps "slam" behind us, so we got used to the sound (she still hasn't gotten use to the loud sound and jumps when we come in — we laugh when she's not looking!) I learned fast, but Sonny is a bit slow. I have the brains and he's the cute one. I tried to help him but, mom thought I was being mean when I would come in and he was left sitting outside. I would stick my head out to the other side to get him to come in, but mom thought I was teasing him. Well, I didn't want to get in trouble, so I proved I was helping by going completely out and back in several times when Sonny finally got the hint and followed me in. Sonny understood me better than mom (and I didn't have to give him bacon). One night, Sonny and I tried to go out and nothing happened. There was something blocking the flaps! We couldn't understand why those flaps wouldn't open when we slapped it with our paws (WOOF!). Well, mom just wanted us to stay in during the night, but we couldn't see what was blocking the flaps, so she put the "baby gate" in front of the flaps. We know what the baby gate means – it means we can’t go through it and that’s OK with us. We love our special door and hope it lasts 100 dog years!Sonny R.

I purchased a Thermo Sash IIIE cat door for sash windows. As I mentioned in my first review, It will pay for itself in one winter with the savings I will realize on my utility bills. However, I also mentioned the sliding security door would not work because of a lip that protrudes on my window. To follow up on this – last weekend I ran that locking pet door through a table saw with a new "general construction" grade blade . The door is now exactly 6 and 7/8ths inches wide. I can now side-load the door, settle it into the bottom rail and then slide it back to center where the lock holds it securely in place. I easy solution if you're the handyman ( or woman ) type! It was very easy to install and a good fit. The cats took to it easily also. The only thing I don't like is our metal window has a lip on it and we can't insert the door for closing w/o lifting the window so we've had to jerry-rig a little door to keep them from using the door when we don't want them to. This wouldn't be an issue with all windows. Very happy with purchase.Donna W.

I have had three of these doors: the first, installed in the wall of my old house; the second in a human door; the third, the Thermo-sash. These are wonderful doors! They keep snow, wind, and uninvited critters out, but are very easy for pets to use. I have two cats who have never had a problem with the doors. I will continue to purchase these pet doors, as they are far superior to any others I have seen.BCO

Replacing our current door with the identical door which is 16 years old. It had 3 dachshunds running through it and the flaps were in need of replacement. This is a very durable door and I highly recommend it.jimmiekayo

Pet door flaps made very cheap,extremely light weight, when the slightest wind comes along both flaps are straight out to the outside, magnets in the wrong place to hold the flaps, I have had pet doors for many years and NEVER had this problem, I will never recommend buying this one, not worth the money for sure, very disappointed. Will need to look for a better quality door for sure, a waste of money.Kenneth

I bought this for my cats..My biggest black cat- was struggling to use the old one. This one is perfect. The licks also work great. In heavy winds- this past winter- the magnet did have a problem keeping the door closed..I just locked it shut- to solve is problemKathryn

Already had the glass cutt out so this was a fairly easily install. It's a generous size door and to my fur nephews delight he can still fit through!! (large Labrador) just would have liked a stronger magnet to reduce the free movement on windy days.Jenn

This item is so flimsy that it cannot in any form be regarded as secure. I had to screw it into place because the twist tabs were not strong enough to hold it at the right height. We still didn't think it was strong enough so I bought a melamine panel to replace it. Thought at least I could sell it for $20. Alas no. As I took the screws out, it slid down so fast that the base snapped off.Tessa

First one I bought was faulty out of the box. The locking screws didn’t work. Bunnings replaced it and the second one the flap dropped off on my dogs back after 2 weeks. She’s a small bulldog and she has the medium door. She fits through the hole perfectly but the flap doesn’t seem to be secured properly. I’ll return it again I guess.Andreea

Awful product. Not worth the cost. Should have just purchased the more expensive version. Flap is tight and difficult for my labradors to fit through, no option to close of the flap if needed to lock the dogs out, the required extension is an additional cost and it doesn't sit flush in the door at all. Returned and exchanging for the Hartman should of stuck to the one I've used in the past. Don't bother trying.Chris

We had our kitchen remolded from top to bottom and one of my favorite things continues to be our new pet door. We had the contractors build a bench under a new window concealing the beautiful pet door in the wall. Our little Westie loves it and we do too. The door faces North West and catches a lot of wind. Only once, with high winds, have I caught it not closing completely. There is no draft and it is so secure! Worth every penny! Our contractor built a little slide to hold the cover so we can simply slide it over to lock the door if needed. Our dear Westie is now the queen of her castle coming and going as she pleases. This is a great product. We've bought two over the years for two different houses. Even after four years of use, it they were in almost perfect condition. This is a made in America product. The double flaps, magnets and side sweeps do an excellent job of insulating. It also is a relatively quick, easy installation with the self-framing tunnel. We highly recommend this door and should have bought it again (instead of the Endura Flap brand) for our new house.Rosebud

My dogs absolutely love the new dog door. It took a little longer to train them to go through both doors, but now they go right through it with no problems. Both dogs were already housebroken, but still had an accident every once in a while. But since they are using the dog door, we haven't had one accident. The durability of the product is excellent, the magnets are very secure and the door lock slides in very smooth. This was money well spent.Vikkie

This is not an exact size replacement as advertised. The size is off, about a quarter inch too wide and about a quarter inch too long, which creates a gap at the bottom to allow air through.Jim
