I like that you can open the one flap for easier play. This is very helpful for children with younger siblings that want to join in on the play. I have been using these large Permate dog houses to house my Nigerian Dwarf goats for many years. They have made "affordable housing" for my goats. I will say that my bucks (boys) are much harder on the houses than the does (girls). Both genders jump on top, but the bucks crack the rain shield by jumping on top of the houses. This happens after a while, not right away. I don't blame the company that makes these because they are intended for dogs, not goats that love to climb! I do wish the tops would be stronger to prevent this problem from happening. Another area to improve design would be for the top to somehow lock on to the base. When my Great Pyrenees (GP) dog goes inside to lay down, the lid can lift/tilt off. The large size is not big enough for a GP. The price keeps going up, and I'm not pleased with having to pay more. I wait until the neighbor club coupon comes out to buy any needed replacement houses. Over the years I've bought countless Permate Large dog houses, so I know these pretty well! Looks very nice and hardy but it floods when it rains, I don't know how but the water gets inside and it is too much water. I put a crate pad inside for my outdoor cat to stay warm and went to check on my cat a few hours later after it rained, and the pad was soaking wet not to mention the house was full of water more water than what was outside . The dog house comes in two parts – top and bottom. They do not snap together; the top merely sits on the bottom. No hardware is provided to attach the two and even if there was there are no holes through which one would thread screws or bolts (or whatever) to keep the dog house together. I use these for my goats because these houses are inexpensive but the goats knowingly and regularly have fun pushing up on the exit/entrance hole to "break" the house into two pieces. Yes, I laugh at their antics but I still plan to drill holes and use nuts/bolts to keep the top and bottom together.L McGaffey

I have used these type of doghouses for years to house my indoor cats' litter pans. Not only do they help to contain the litter that always seems to make it out of the pan, they also act as an odor barrier and preserve my flooring from "over reaches". We just got ours 2 days ago. It was deklivered by UPS during the aftermath of hurricane Ida. The UPS man needed help unloading it and when I actually got it out of the weather I noticed the box was damaged. Got the wife to come and take pictures of the damage as I unpacked it. It wasn't actually too bad except for the roof being cracked, but not beyond what I can possibly repair. Multiple places there are either screws lost or obvious cracks in the material. I will repair it as well as I can and then trrow a few coats of Epoxy paint on and IN it to protect the wood. The kennal itself was in stock and went together easily. As my pups will be spending only a few hours in it I decided to keep it and repair it. I know there are at leaast 10 screws and bolts missing because the hardware packet was partially opened and some parts had obviously fallen out of the shipping container.Bogey1
I give five stars because for the price I believe it is a nice dog house. Steel framing seems sturdy and it comes with a composite floor that will not rot. I found it easy to put together, but I could see how others may not think it is easy. Parts labeled very well and squared up well on assembly. I recommend putting together on flat concrete and only move after installing after all self tapping srews are in place. Only negative thing I would have to say is that the walls are a little thin for my liking. I feel they could be a little thicker. Also i like how it attaches to the retriever kennel. This dog house is a huge waste of money. I plan on returning mine today. First off, the wooden panels are paper thin and the floor will bow under little weight. I'm actually afraid my dog would chew out of the house very quickly. There were some parts of the instructions that didn't say which way smaller parts should be facing, and you would go through all the trouble to put it together then find out that one small part had to be flipped, but the instructions were not clear about some parts. I rebuilt this dog house probably 5 times because parts just didn't fit well at all for some reason. Oh and you DO need a drill because part of it want's you to drill screws through the metal frame because for some reason the holes were not included in the frames? The metal frame is cheap and easily bends under little weight. The only reason I even got this doghouse is because I have the retriever kennel that goes with it. Do yourself a favor and get a better quality dog house or build a good one yourself.James009

Some dogs just don't quite fit into the size charts in the way other dogs do. Our dog Angel, a mountain cur, is one of those dogs. Weight wise, Angel is comfortably in the medium category but she's tall and lanky so she always had to hunch over in her medium crate. This larger crate is a perfect height for the needed room. We bought this product mostly because of the vertical lift feature of the door hinge and the two-door access options which is great for all sorts of configurations (against different walls, corners etc). We like the size and customizable interior of the XL crate for our growing puppy (husky/shepard mix). This is definitely an at home crate vs. care crate. The only issue we have is that compared to our first crate (same company, large single door, 2 locks) is that this crate is very rattly. We crate our dog during sleeping hours and every time he kicks in his sleep or adjusts, it makes a clangy metallic sound that wasn't expected. These are nice dog houses. They are light weight & don't look like they are very warm, but they actually do a good job, my border collies like these a lot. I bought my first about 20 years ago, then shortly after bought another. My dogs passed, so I gave them to a neighbor, which still has them in use. I recently got a medium breed puppy, so I went and got another since I had such good service out of the first two. I would highly recommend to anyone with a pet outside. We get some snow where I live and my dogs always stayed warm and dry.
I mistakenly bought the Large doghouse for dogs up to 90 lbs. But my 5 month old coonhound was too large for it. I returned it and ordered the X-large doghouse and it is the right size. Unfortunately, the doghouse was broken in two places, probably due to the way you ship. These doghouses are delivered without any protection and will crack or break when sliding into anything. I will have to repair it to hold it together since I don't trust you are able to send another one without the same issues.Daniel

Two big, big flaws this grill has makes this product a no go until its addressed. Flaw #1 The locking mechanism when the grill is folded is not strong enough to keep the lid closed when the grill is upright. Once you fold the grill up and you're not too careful the lid will open and the grates will come crashing down, It has happened to me like 15 times within the past two months and is infuriating; Im going to have to get a bungee cord to keep it shut but I shouldn't have too after spending a decent amount of money this grill. Flaw #2 I would definitely not recommend buying and using one pound cylinder propane to use this grill. I had to get an exchange on a this particular grill because I carefully put a one pound propane cylinder to use this grill, after I tried to remove the propane cylinder it would not unscrew, we kept trying and trying to unscrew tank, but it ultimately broke other parts of the grill. I read multiple other reviews experiencing the same exact problem. You will need to spend an extra 40 bucks and get an extension hose adapter and only use 15lb propane tanks. This grill is such a disappointment, it could be great but the quality falls flat.Dom10
Bought this as a replacement for a another similar grill that fell apart. Having owned other Weber grills I thought it would as good as the others. The first time I folded the grill to roll it around the lock lever snapped off. I couldn't understand why it was made of plastic given its function. I discovered (the hard way) don't try rolling without the frame lock, it opens and anything inside falls out. Turned a replacement part was not available. After several attempts was able to find a customer service person he found a way to come up with a replacement part. Be very careful when engaging/disengaging the lock level, it breaks very easily. The lid lock can't be engaged manually it locks automatically when the grill is folded up to roll around. However (as I found out) the lid will open if the frame lock is not engaged. You can not lock the lid while the grill is set up for use, not a good design. The propane fitting is under the grill and not all that easy to access. It has a mechanism that prevents you from folding the grill to move it so you can not store folded with a 1 lb cylinder in place. The grill takes longer than I expected (compared to any other gas grill I have used) to reach cooking temperature. Once there it does cook well. The last issue I have is the inside bottom of the grill did not allow grease to flow into the catch pan. Had to clean it after my first use. I was amazed the catch pan had nothing in it but the inside of the grill had all the hamburger grease. I hope that will not be a constant problem. No other gas grill I have owned had this happen.PEEL

It's not extra large, that's for sure. It's a large. My two Berner males at 94-lbs and 120-lbs don't go in because they can barely turn around in it. Nor my 88-lb Pyrenees. The material itself is great. But isn't the point that the dog can get in/out of it so they use it? My smaller 72-lb female uses her Ex-Lg. So is it really the size a medium dog should use? I own 6 of these quality XL dog houses for my Great Pyrenees dog, as well as, my pygmy goats. My goats actually prefer them to there fully enclosed barn. MINNESOTA Winter or Summer, they love to cuddle sometimes 2-3 per igloo. I have never needed to use the flap doors. I think the ventilation is more important. As a bonus they are a great climbing structure, even my guardian dog can be found balancing on top to get a better view of potential predators in the distance. One temporary drawback is the base can be difficult to disassemble from the top, for the first few cleanings. But a large screw drivers works well to pry them apart and they "break in" quite quickly. I had been rigging my dogs summer tent to shelter my stray cat..I fed her, so she’s mine lol…but it just wasn’t cutting it anymore and it is oddly cold this winter here in Alabama. I owned a large Big Green Egg for years. Unfortunately, the movers would not move when I moved out of state. It gave me many years of really good barbecue with enough space to fit 3 Boston Butt roasts. My major complaint was the weight. Even with the top removed, it took two strong people to lift it. I really like the removable fire box with the Classic Joe. With the firebox removed, the Joe is an easy two-person lift. The ash tray makes emptying ash easy. The manual is almost worthless in using the Joe since it basically just covers assembly in multiple languages. It doesn't even tell you how to light it. You need to buy someone's Joe cookbook to cook with it. After that, it produces some really tasty barbecue! I have smoked two Boston Butts and a set of pork ribs that are excellent.MikeL
I highly recommend this grill for anyone getting started with Kamado or in need of a semi-portable grill. I bought this to replace a gas grill that was way too big for my needs. I'm not going back to gas after this. Pros: 1. The design of the rack and included ceramic heat deflection plate are very good, allowing for at least 4 cooking configurations: Direct cooking low, direct cooking high (remove rack and place grill directly on ceramic ring), indirect cooking with included deflection plate, "double-indirect" cooking for pizza (you need to buy a pizza stone for this). 2. The included tools are very handy (the grill lifter and especially the ash removal tool). Cons: 1. The exhaust air adjustment often closes or changes when I open the dome. This could be overcome with a better mechanical design. 2. The overall design, while being portable, is very low to the ground. It would be nice if Kamado Joe offered a rolling cart option for this grill. 3. It would be nice if there were some reference markings on the lower air setting, 3 or 4 etched lines would be nice, that way I can reproduce settings more easily. Recommendations: 1. Buy the smallest Kamado grill you need. Smaller grills heat up faster. The Joe Jr. is certainly enough for 2 people. 2. Buy a grill cover for this if it is going outside. 3. Buy good heat resistant gloves if you are doing cooks that involve changing the grill configuration. 4. Even though the grill is called "portable," it still weighs 77 pounds which is a 2 person lift for many people. I'd call this semi-portable as it barely fits behind the seat of my car and is a bit cumbersome to use for weekly activities. Overall I love this grill!mateo
So I asked a relative who has a commercial smoking rig, what I needed to get to start smoking meat. His answer was unequivocal – Kamado Joe. So for father's day last year (yeah, right, we got it end of July) the grill is delivered. Life has not been the same. We got the Big Joe III, maybe a little much but when you start talking the top of the line, do you *really* want to get that one party or holiday gathering or whatever where you wish you would have just gotten the bigger one? Was not going to happen to me! The performance has been spectacular … a few lessons learned on my part but if you just think things through and watch the 1000s of youtube videos on the subject, you really have no excuse for messing up. From chicken to pork to brisket – some of the best meals we have eaten … and dial it up a notch to reverse seared ribeye and you cannot justify any expensive steakhouses again – its too good at home. Only downsides for me have been minor adjustments to the latch (but worth it cuz the seal is absolutely air tight) and the occasional spring popping out … easy to put it back in. Also, I would love if somebody has a quick'n'easy way of dealing with the "sticky top vent" issue … generally I take it off and drop it on the ground to get it loose : cleaning it is a beast but a must do to keep too much build up from accumulating. The other challenge is the weight of this beast : getting it in the garage when I leave the house for extended periods is not particularly easy. If you are getting one of the "big joe" models, plan on pretty much keeping it wherever you put it and not moving it more than a few feet, absolutely no rough surfaces.rmwTx

I got this recently on a great sale price… it was half the cost of another dog house that I bought (and returned). The one I ended up returning was designed as an actual house, but cost $100 and the plastic was very flimsy… I felt it wasn't worth the price, and my dog never liked it. I looked online and saw this "dog house" (it's really a crate, IMO); and Petco had the least expensive price, at half the retail cost. I was also able to pick it up the same day at a local store, and received a further discount for picking it up at the store. There's only 2 pieces (a top and a bottom), and the top basically just sits on the bottom, with tabs that are supposed to hold it in place. It's not the most secure, but I don't see this being blown across the yard or anything. The plastic is heavy duty and sturdy… I mean sure, if you live in a tornado or hurricane area, then of course, yes, it'll get toss across the neighborhood; but otherwise, it should stay in place. Great for when you need to leave your pet outside for a while. It's very wide, but not very long though. My dog can curl up in here and he can fit, but he can not stretch out or lay out in this… which is fine, because dogs usually like sleeping curled up and they like snug fitting enclosures to sleep in. My standard size labradoodle fits into it. He uses it to sleep in. This is not something he can stand straight up in or something he can stretch out in… but for sleeping, he loves to curl up in it. I bought it for use outside during the winter or a rainy day, to get out of the cold or rain when I have to put him outside in the yard for a while. We put it inside the house first so that he would get use to it. The one I got said it was for dogs 50-90 lbs., which is the large size. He has no problem getting in and out of this, and he likes it a lot better than the Suncast house shaped doghouse I got him (which I ended up returning). This is plastic, but it's made of heavy duty plastic and it's sturdy; there's only a top and bottom part, and basically the top part sits on the bottom part, with tabs that are supposed to hold the two pieces together. Got these doghouses as an outdoor reprieve from the elements for our 2 Huskies. They are very sturdy and made of solid hard plastic. They've managed to remain dry inside even in a couple of downpours and driving rain. The only time that wasn't the case is when I had one on an uneven patch of grass. So you definitely want to place it on a platform if there's no flat surface. Unfortunately our pups, house dogs that LOVE to go out and play, still haven't embraced the concept of having a private pad "outside." Other than that, it's easy to set up and clean. It has plenty of room for our 70 pounder and is absolutely palatial for the 45 pounder. I got the large size for both since they were so affordable – $44 bucks each! Love the color. I'm a long time charcoal Komodo user who took the plunge on a Pellet grill and I absolutely love it. I've had it for 6 months now and I find I use it so much more than my Komodo, especially during the week where I don't have to light and baby the charcoal to light. With the Traeger I press a button, go back inside and 10 minutes later I'm ready to throw food 9nnthe grill. I will say it takes a little more maintenance than I anticipated, you really do need a small vacuum to clean up the ash every now and then, and it's not easy to get to (you have to take off the grill rack and drip pan to get to the fire pot where you need to vacuum). I've done a couple overnight cooks already to great success. Held a steady temperature through the night and was surprisingly efficient with pellets. The hopper was still 80% full at 225 after an overnight cook (this was also during summer where it probably didn't have to work as hard). I'm also very glad I made the jump to 780 over the 575 as I enjoy utilizing the space available to me. Overall I highly recommend a pellet grill, specifically the Traeger 780!David
Nice grill. Only used once so far. Grill seems to be well built. Handle gets too hot to handle with bare hand at 450 degrees. Would also be better if it had swivel wheels on all 4 legs instead of just 2. Probe was not very accurate either. It reads about 20 degrees high. I hope there is a way to calibrate it. Cooked burgers and they were juicier and less shrinkage and no burn marks like gas grill flare ups caused. Had to use handheld thermometer to get them done.Grillman2
This is my second Traeger. I have been a huge fan of Traeger! I loved the box it came in! No dents and had some fun when assembling. Traeger makes it fun and interactive! The grill works great! I have cooked just about everything. Why the one star? I take great pride in my Traeger. I purchased this new one for the Wi-Fi capabilities and the larger option. I only use Traeger products for cleaning, pellets and foil liners. I donated my 2 year old Traeger to a senior neighbor that loves when I used my Traeger but was unable to buy one. It was an easy reason to upgrade. My new Traeger's finish is disappointing. I have only used it a couple of times since I bought it on July 1st 2022. The paint is already chipping! I have used the recommended and branded Traeger cleaning products and followed the instructions. So disappointed. I would return but Bestbuy only has a 15 day return policy. If you could only have one grill for all purposes and for the rest of your life, this it it! PKs are wonderful for smoking and direct grilling and so easy to use. I have had (and still have) gas grills, but the PK makes everything you cook much better. Important — gas grills and other smokers are a mess to clean, but the PK is simple to clean and does not get greasy, messy as expected with other grills: just dump or scoop it out, or hose it down, or both and you are done in seconds. This is the best charcoal grill on which I have ever cooked. The construction is elegant in its simplicity. Cast aluminum construction is very tough while remaining relatively light, and I will never have to worry about corrosion – my last two grills (a Char-Broil and a Weber) rusted through within 3-4 years. The PK Original is a superior product in all ways for charcoaling. I have not tried it for smoking yet, but I will soon. This kennel is strong. The tie-down holes, one per corner, go through both the top half and the bottom half of the kennel, which is an excellent improvement over no tie down holes. Another improvement over the old version is that water cannot collect on top since there are no bowl-like indentations on the top. The door is heavy construction, and can be mounted as Left or Right swing. I put the kennel on the passenger's side of the vehicle so that I can use the empty space behind the driver for carrying a jug of water, leashes, and other stuff. The advertised length is 40", but be aware that the usable length or "inside" length is 33". This is adequate if your dog is 33" or less from the top of the tail to the end of his front nails, while lying in the "sphinx" position. ONE CON: There are no drainage holes in the bottom half. I plan to drill my own (well, get the hubby to do it). A suggestion for the manufacturer: Make a Truck Version of the kennel. It would be the same as this except for two changes: (1) Add drain holes, and (2) Make the top rear panel (opposite the door) from transparent acrylic, so the driver can see through it. This would be a safety feature, as the blind spot would be reduced.Karen
Excellent dog kennel/crate, easy to assemble and relatively lightweight, but strong. Came with extra fasteners for the top and bottom sections, which I have put aside for possible future use. Also has nice hand hold areas underneath the rim on both sides of the kennel for carrying/lifting.

At first reading the instructions you might get overwhelmed but it's not as bad as it seems at first with the install. The only thing I wish is there was a way to make it have a wireless signal to the main box so you don't need to run wires into the house. Part of my install is on the fence and some in ground both were fairly straight forward. We have been working with our dog per the instructions. While I feel we could probably teach our dog where to stay out of with just the training guide in the book but the added collar helps reinforce the boundaries. So far she is responding well although she is a border collie and they tend to learn fast but I don't think it would be hard to work with any dog with the right patience and practice. Don't buy this if you expect it to work out of the box you still need to train your dog the system is more of a reminder than it is a set it and forget it.Jono21
The PetSafe In Ground fence worked great in our yard! We aren't allowed to have traditional fences in our subdivision but wanted to be able to keep our goldendoodle safe and in our yard. This system was a bit of a project to install in comparison to hiring a company or something, but the directions well clear and concise and it wasn't difficult to install. We borrowed My dog was very receptive to the training with the boundary flags and picked up on the boundaries very quickly and easily!! Petsafe had some helpful videos on their website which helped guide us how to begin training as well. The system seems really reliable, and I love that I can know that she is safe and gets to run and exercise without having to worry constantly. The collar is lightweight and comfortable for my dog and easy to adjust. I highly recommend this pet containment system to keep your loved fur babies safe!!wogsll34
The in-ground fence was extremely easy to install and had step-by-step directions on how to do so. I had thought it would be difficult to install, as I am not an overly technical person, but was surprised to learn that even the least technical-savvy person could install. I love that my dog no longer needs to wear a leash outside and he's able to roam freely. I feel this provides him with a sense of independence, although he still prefers to be by my side. On my end though, it provides me a sense of relief that even if I look away momentarily, he won't be able to roam outside of the flags. As far as your dog goes, I would recommend walking him or her around the area to ensure they are aware of where is permitted and not permitted to go. Once your dog learns this, they will be on their way to what they feel is freedom.Amber24

The door itself was nice. Not too difficult to install but not as easy as some that I’ve done. My problem (and the reason for the 2 star review) is the “closing panel” which is not a panel but rather a cover. I assumed that this door cover would work like all other petsafe doors I’ve had which have been great. Because the description says “panel,” that further made me think it was a panel that you slide in like all doors I’ve seen. This is not the case. It’s a snap-on cover that is supposed to clip in on the sides. It comes with one cover that you can put on either the inside or the outside. You will either be able to keep things in or out but not both at the same time. The biggest problem is that depending on your door and placement, the panels in the door can make the alignment to clip it on nearly impossible (see picture). I don’t have any confidence in it so we always have to block the door with something pushed up against the cover. I have a degree in mechanical engineering, so it’s not a lack of intelligence that’s the problem. It’s a poor design for the cover.
Easy enough to install, but their use of nylon bolts is a downside. I understand it is so you can cut the excess away. But it probably wouldn't have cost any more (possibly a tiny bit more) to engineer the door to use metal hardware so it wouldn't strip as easily. The other issue I have is the "security" snap on door. Because it's snap on and not slid in or lockable, both my dogs have been able to push it off from the outside in. And the door is XL so it's big enough for a person to crawl through, so there is absolutely no security from a person entering standpoint. Other than that, the door works perfectly well for letting the dogs in and out independently, and keeping the heat/cool outside.Chefblue
This was dribbling enough water into my utility room during storms that I had to disassemble it to figure out where it was leaking. I couldn't find exactly where it was letting water in, so once I got it reassembled, I caulked the heck out of it and it seems to be okay for now. Taking it apart and reinstalling it was a major hassle. Most of the nylon screws either broke or wouldn't fit all the way back through, after numerous attempts. Seems to be poorly engineered. And the door where it was leaking isn't even facing in the usual direction of the wind/rain, so I don't know why it leaked so badly.TS777
