I've tried numerous harnesses and never loved any until this one. I have a miniature rat terrier who is 13.5 lbs. He tends to be too big for mediums and way too small for large sizes. Finally, this harness fits perfectly in Medium! There's even a little room to spare in case he gets larger. We wanted to take off pressure from his neck and the v neck design and light weight, soft mesh is great! It's by far the softest one I've ever felt, and I've tried every one at multiple stores. It's so comfortable that it could be left on all the time even in summer since it's so breathable. My dog lives it too! He seems to feel safe and calmer in it like a thunder shirt makes him feel. The first time I took him on a walk he seemed to feel "free". He was so happy to pounce around without worrying about a jerk in his neck. We give this one 5 stars!!!! I got this in black, size medium from Amazon. She has a 12" neck and a 19" chest. This harness is adjustable around both neck and chest. My pup has a high chase drive and will sometimes pull suddenly. I like that the x-shape doesn't put as much pressure on her throat when she pulls, and the double d-rings and buckle closure feel very secure for her leash. I have two very strong Scottish terriers who would pull when they saw another dog or cat and they actually pulled me over. The best investment I have made for my puppy, who is growing fast and extremely jumpy. It got to the stage where I found it incredibly difficult to walk her, but the Halti harness works a treat! The Halti double ended lead can be wrapped around you so you use your body weight rather than your hands/arms to stop the pulling. I can literally walk hands free! You can then take the lead off the front part of the harness and it becomes a 6 foot lead, which is great for recall training. If you take the whole double ended lead off, the harness has about a 1ft lead attached to it, which is easy to grab if you need to when you let your dog off the lead. I bought this in a medium a week ago and I've used it around 2-3 times already. I have a maltipoo and she has a tendency to pull and try to go faster/farther and it would cause her to choke in her previous harness. However, not a single time since I've started using this has she choked/gagged. The sizing is a bit off for her though, since a small is too tight but a medium is too loose (but the medium isn't loose enough for it to be unsafe/falling). This harness is true to its name and is so helpful for dogs that try pulling and end up choking. It's also super softer than her old one. I also bought a small for my yorkie and I think she loves it! Normally she hates harnesses but this one she doesn't seem to mind! I feel like it makes her more comfortable when she's walking as her previous ones weren't the most softest like this. This is my third Gooby harness. Small size worked well when she was a puppy. She outgrew the Small we got her a medium and there was a small sign of tearing on this harness when we upgraded her to large. We got her the large pink and the fabric tore in half. The black fabric on the edge was the only thing keeping it together. Our dog weighs 18lbs but she’s built like a tank. If you have a dog that pulls I wouldn’t recommend this harness. Purchased Halti harness as last resort to control large pup. Due to urgent surgery at 12 weeks of age and essential crating post-operative 24/7 (except for toilet breaks) for 5 weeks following her procedure, the critical period of training unfortunately couldn't be completed during this time frame. Once able to commence training, she had grown significantly, was very strong and strong willed … finding a harness / lead to assist with her training was difficult until stumbling across the Halti harness. Bought this product for a 7 month old puppy that is still learning to walk on lead and pulls so badly on a flat collar that she starts to choke herself. Fitting of the harness was very easy and adjusting the straps very simple. The inclusion of the clasp that attaches to the collar is a very good idea as it helps center the front of the harness as well as a safety precaution if the harness comes loose. I was suprised by how well the harness worked, there was no pulling right from the start. When my puppy gets over-excited (e.g. sees another dog) she attempts to pull but is easily controlled compared to the flat collar. I find the straps need readjusting fairly regularly and as they get loose the harness becomes less effective. This could be overcome by stitching in place at correct adjustment but as my dog is still growing I don't want to do that just yet. Overall I am very happy with the harness and it suits my purpose of continuing to train my dog to walk calmly on lead without her pulling so hard that she is choking herself and possible causing damage.08cactus
Purchased this for our rescue red heeler who had never been walked on a lead at 16 months old. He pulled constantly and walks were unbearable. I have a 54 lb. Springer-Standard Poodle mix. She is not strangely shaped but, she does have a bit of a deep chest. I bought the XL and it was super tight around the girth. Bought an XL-XXL, the girth was fine but then the neck was too big. Tightened up the neck all the way and it was hard to get it over her head (and still too big). When the the leash was clipped to the front and the dog pulled to one side the neck area bulged open. A bad look at that point. Nicely made and well constructed, just can't fit it to my dog. Our no-pull service dog harness is a true no-pull harness. what makes this a no-pull harness is a d-ring set into the front chest plate. if you have a dog that wants to get out in front of you then this harness will solve that problem. when the leash is attached to the front chest d-ring and you tug at the leash the dog will turn back towards you. causing the dog to turn its head and focus on you. if you have a young dog that gets distracted easily this will also be perfect for you. when training with this harness i will attach a short leash to the top d-ring of the harness & then a narrow longer leash to the front chest d-ring. i will work the top leash but if the dog gets out of position or distracted i have that narrow longer leash on the front d-ring to make the correction & get the dog back focused on me. if you are working with a wheel chair you can attach one leash to the chair and hold the other leash that is connected to the front d-ring to get the same results the no-pull service dog harness is a form fitting harness with adjustments on both the chest/neck & girth areas. there are two sets of buckles at the neck & girth so once you have the harness adjusted to your dog's size then it is very easy to take the harness on and off because the adjustments can be left in place. you won't have to take this harness off & on by pulling it over the dogs head. the no-pull quick-release service dog harness is padded with air mesh for your dog's comfort. the padded chest area gives good stability to the harness. there are no loose floppy straps on this no-pull service dog harness. the entire harness is bound with reflective materials. it comes with two attached reflective service dog patches. there is an attached double pocket id window for your id's. the handle is a raised molded easy grip handle with two d-rings to attach an extended bridge handle. the harness is red in color and comes in three sizes. bridge handles & id cards are sold separately.

I wanted a front clip harness for my adolescent SDIT who needs a bit of extra "steering" right now. I thought this harness would be perfect, but after using it once, I realize that the description didn't give neck measurements. Buying based on girth size alone, I ended up with a harness that hangs on my adolescent German Shepherd (whose girths usually fill out long before their necks). With such a loose neck on front clip harness, the whole thing spins. There's no way to size it down. So for anyone with a young deep-chested breed, watch out for that. Otherwise, my dog clearly liked it. The Y (between the front legs) strap design is ergonomically superior to traditional harnesses, especially with growing dogs. It's lightweight and comfortable. Like all my other Active Dog harnesses, the quality is second to none. It should be a great harness for my dog during the heat of summer after he's filled out. I love how reflective it is. (In the photo, the restaurant patio was quite dark. The harness was impressive the way it lit up when the flash hit it.). It's a nice enough harness that I'll just put this away until late summer. If the neck were more adjustable (or neck size listed in the description), I'd give this a 5 paw rating.Lori

We new we wanted a no pull harness for our (working) service dog because they have work so well our other (pet) dogs. The minute we took this harness out of the box it exceeding our expectations just in quality construction. We ordered a M/L using the "how to fit your dog" chart. The sizing chart was an excellent resource. We adjusted the straps to fit. And are very pleased with a fit that will support the growth our dog will experience. Great quality harness. I like that they have no velcro compared to other harnesses I own. This style works great under shirts, coats, and sweaters. This is our second Gooby harness purchase. I actually prefer this style to the previous mesh one with suede trim. We had previously purchased the Gooby Trekking Step-in Memory Foam Dog Harness РMandarin Orange РMedium and loved it so we thought this harness would be great as well. We ordered a medium, yet runs smaller than the ‘trekking’ harness (that medium fits her perfectly) Therefore it seems a bit too tight even on the loosest setting. We also ordered a large (from another website) and although that seems to fit her a bit more comfortably, it seems a bit too big. I have a 6 lb puppy, 3 months old. I have been trying various harnesses. This seem to be the best as far as a step in harness. It seems my pup has a short neck so the over the head harness comes to close to his chin and he is able to get his mouth around the top. This harness is a step in harness easier to get on. However, since it is an XS it could have been a little narrower around the paw holes. It seems to come right up to the shoulder joint. Also the "D" hooks for the leash do not lay flat if you are at the tightest fit. Because of that, I remove the harness while indoors, especially when playing with other pups. It could get caught on furniture or hurt the other pup.lashepa5

It is very difficult to purchase a properly fitting harness for my dog. He is not broad shouldered and has a long, somewhat narrow torso relative to his overall size. I decided to follow the sizing chart and it fits him very well. The harness is a bit lower profile than others he has had previously, but it's easily the best fitting one he's had to this point.
