This works well. It is non greasy and doesn't have a funky smell like some other topical flea meds. The problem with topical is that sometimes they stop working . Therefore you switch to the other brand . But so far I have not had to switch. It definitely works well and recommend to many people.deb.n

Only briefly because he would spit out the meds no matter how clever I thought I was in hiding them. So, since he refused to take them, I stopped trying to make him. His grand mal seizures were frequent and long lasting. But, he just got better at spitting out the pills, even if I shoved them down his throat. i have only had to use these topicals a few times in our current dogs short life, so far. And it seemed to work fine and for as long as it said it was supposed to work. And when she or we seem a bit more itchy, I apply it again, and wait until it’s “needed”, again- as opposed to routinely scheduled once every month. And in my opinion, it works better than capstar, which is meant as a short acting topical to immediately relieve a flea problem getting out of control. But for whatever reason, this works better for us, even though it might take a few days to really notice results. (I never really noticed immediate results with. Capstar. What I liked is that it was easy to apply, and it work quickly and efficiently , neither of my dogs had any type of negative side effects, there was no redness or scaliness or itchiness at the point of the application, and less than 36 hours all fleas were sufficiently gone. I bought this almost a month ago for my girl. She had this itch by her tail that she would scratch every minute. It got so bad that she got a huge bald spot above her tail. I live in a crazy flea ridden area. Southern swamp fleas are really tough to keep away. If you've got the money, go with Nexgard. We don't, so we tried this product out. It works just as well as Frontline, which here, isn't wonderfully but good enough. When we lived in IL Frontline was plenty. We also wash pet bedding often, and use food grade diatomaceous earth. You've eaten it many times without realizing, farmers use it on wheat and other crops to kill destructive insects (caterpillars and other wormies with exoskeletons). This is a very safe method for killing adult fleas, hopefully before they can lay eggs. Don't buy the pool stuff, get food grade. Sprinkle it on the carpet before vacuuming. Once fleas come into contact with it, they die within 4 hours – it slices up their exoskeletons. Obviously we can't coat every flea, but doing this regularly really cuts down on the problem (nyuk) and is much safer than harsh chemicals – plus, no smell. Just like talcum powder, flour, and other particulates, avoid breathing it in, as it can be an irritant to your and your pet's lungs (no tossing it in the air and dancing under it naked, but a little shouldn't hurt). For those hard to vacuum areas like under furniture, sprinkle a bit and leave it. There are also these bulb things you can buy to spread the dust more evenly, but it's cheap so we just use a sifter or shaker bottle with small holes. We killed them inside, but they kept reappearing. We realized we have a screened in porch with sand and gravel right outside the back door. Fleas love that stuff. Sprinkled it in the gravel and added the porch to the regular DE routine and now it's unusual to find those devils. Tried this on my dog that not only has sensitive skin , but also goes insane when bitten by a flea. Scratches and rubs herself raw and hair free in spots all over. Baths and dips made no improvement. Started using this a couple years ago and couldn't be more satisfied. I haven't noticed any side effects and she is significantly more comfortable. I know when its time to retreat. I have used Fiproguard Max for three years and have been completely satisfied then it was discontinued and replaced with Fiproguard Plus. Thanks to that I have been fighting a flea problem on my dogs and in my house!! Imagine sitting on your couch with your dog and a flea jumps on your arm, then you find them all over your dog! Mad dash to the store to buy (more $$) flea killer shampoos, sprays . Wash the dogs, all the bedding and soft furnishings, spray the house from top to bottom and guess what? In two days they're back! Finally had to get my house fumigated, (more $$) research other flea prevention products (more time) and get my dogs treated with a new product. I am SO mad!! Why on earth did they have to change the formula? Beat stuff ever! We have three cats and after one went outside she got fleas and they quickly spread to her sisters. We tried chemical shampoo, but that made one of our cats foam at the mouth. Next we tried dawn, but getting three cats into the tub for a rinse left us with lots of scratches and scared cats. After doing a lot of research we came upon this and let me tell you it did the trick. Because two of the three cats sleep on my daughters bed we had to treat her bed as well as the cats. This stuff is the one and only thing we have found that works. The kitty who had them the worst has a flea collar to help but the other two have been treated with this and a flea comb. We have been using it for about two weeks now every other day with the flea comb, a bowl of hot water with dawn to clean the comb and a vacuum after to catch any who may have gotten away and two of the three cats were flea free today! We will continue to treat all three until their gone and then we’ll use this as a preventative.Kimberd

.So I bought this spray along with the natural care flea and tick shampoo. my poor pups had their first experience with fleas, i didnt know why they were scratching so much (it was also my first experience for fleas) but once i looked through one of my pups fur, i immediately saw three fleas. i went straight to walmart, got my products and treated my pups. i prepared a warm bath, dunked them both into the water, lathered them up really good, let it sit for 6 minutes and i rinsed them. in the bath water, i saw the fleas and i also saw a couple ticks that i didnt know they had lol. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND trying this, even if you hate minty smells, i would still give this product a shot. no more fleas, ticks, or annoying itching!!!Mikeesha

Neighbors are completely infested, and now we have them too. I have been trying my absolute best to make sure we don't end up like them. I used the hotshot fogger and was bitten the same night. So much effort cleaning and inconvenience for something that only seemed to kill my house flies. After reading I decided to get alpine wsg, but I needed some relief until it came in. Im always skeptical of Walmart pet products but after reading reviews I decided on the Adams fleas and tick. I sprayed my bed the couch (the dogs sleep on both) and my entire upstairs carpet. I haven't been bitten in 2 days. I know they'll be back and ive many more things to do, but this spray works. Their is a funky smell but it's not really that bad as suggested by reviews and I didn't notice it even 15 minutes after spraying. The product seems good but the bottle isnt. Spray isnt consistent, and it leaks a bit, I got it all over my hands. Might want to wear gloves if that's a thing you're worried about, but it definitely killed adult fleas same day. Would buy again, probably would put it in a better sprayer myself.

If you are already infested, the reality is there is no one step. Treat your animals your house and your yard same day, if you don't nothing will seem to work. Me personally I'd rather properly use what the exterminators use. I think alot of people write reviews same day. They'll be back. Keep your house clean, treat your pets with a 30 day option, treat every room in the house even if you think there's no activity and treat your yard too. Don't leave a stone unturned and when you think your problem is over, do it again. If that's too much for you, consider an actual exterminator. If i could give this negative stars, I would. This stuff is awful. It's expensive, smells very strong of chemicals and doesn't kill any fleas. I lightly sprayed my furniture like the instructions said, waited for it to dry and my furniture smelled like nasty chemicals for days. It also left a greasy feel on my skin and clothing. Just an all around bad product. I'll never buy an Adam's product again. If you love your animals and children I wouldn't use this anywhere they will be. Find a different product.Amber

I have 2 indoor only cats and somehow became infested with fleas in my apartment. I tried home remedies to no avail and couldn't stand seeing them so uncomfortable. Today I bought flea foggers and Adams flea and tick spray, after applying the spray while on my white tile bathroom floor I saw them jumping off. So, having nothing better to do I say there watching them squirm and die for about five minutes when both cats, who rarely sleep together crawled into my lap purring and immediately fell asleep together. They got some much needed relief. I'm not sure how long it'll kill future fleas but I've bombed the house and will continue to apply the spray lightly until I don't see any activity. I think we'll all sleep well tonight and hopefully the problem is taken care of finally. I highly recommend this product. This definately killed all the fleas on my dog right away. I have a bichon poo and so he has long fluffy fur. This left his fur so soft. The soap itself is very watery and lots just goes down the drain. However, it did work up a good lather unlike what some reviews have said. Bad news is, it does not repel fleas from my experience. Fleas still jump on him and stay. So, I sprayed my yard and house. As well as get him an all natural flea collar repellent. I would much rather use this wash that a Capstar. We purchased this shampoo, as our Rottweiler was very itchy at night. Prior to buying this, I asked how long would this shampoo work? The shampoo works immediately. Essentially it kills any live fleas on the dog, however, this shampoo is not made to continue fighting fleas days later. You need to invest in getting your dog on a flea treatment program to combat ongoing flea issues. This works! I was using an all natural shampoo but my poor puppy needed more help. Shes too young for a flea medication so I used this once a week and in between used the natural flea shampoo. Fleas fell off in sink. I gain a sense of satisfaction when I wash them down the drain. But you need to keep it lathered on pet for a few minutes at least before rinsing off. I honestly think this is more of a placebo effect type deal, it’s cheaper than most other sprays I’ve tried (I’ve tried almost everything) and it Does work when sprayed directly on a flea. The flea starts acting really weird immediately, stops being able to jump and eventually dies. The problem is, in most cases you just spray this around, not directly on fleas. Personally I hate the smell too but I’ve had worse. We have 3 pets, I’ve been dealing with a Severe infestation for months, every time I think I’m getting it under control, it gets worse. Please, don't ever use any HARTZ products. Please google, "HARTZ kills". You will see thousands of pics of severely injured and dead cats and dogs. They have known it is an issue for decades but they are able to skirt the issue by using pesticides in their products instead of FDA monitored medications. I trust Hartz brand when it comes to preventing fleas and ticks. I know most people use flea chews but I don't see the need because this seems to work for me, I do not have carpet in my house which may be why I've not had any infestations. Great Flea spray. I washed the dog in their amazing shampoo and washed all the bedding. I used the spray around the baseboards and the carpet area. My sheltie has been feeling much better since. There were 2 months, when I moved to a new state and was unable to find this product locally (*and hadn't heard of 1800petmeds yet) when I used 2 other products – my dog had a serious skin sensitivity to one, and the other gave her diarrhea for almost the entire month. (Male black n white cat) He is an indoor/outdoor baby, but I haven't ever had a problem like this until now. Worth mentioning, my female brindle colored cat also had irritation from this year's applications. She has to have prednisone each day, along with a topical treatment, otherwise she's in agony from inflammation and itching! I am NOT stating that it was the fault of this brand. Don't really know what changes was done to the formula . But Advantage 2 works no where near as good as it as the original formula . My cat(s) for years have always been an inside cat & used it for years with great success. I recently adopted a cat & started using Adtg.2. A week to a week & a half is about tops before you start to see your cat start scratching again. Not good especially for what they charge for the stuff. Another example of "don't fix it if it ain't broke". But I guess the all mighty dollar took care of that. Next time I take my cat to the vet I'll ask about other options. It's very distressing to find 3 happy engorged ticks on your dog 24 hours after treatment following all the requirements re: proper placement location on the dog, shaved the hair to make contact only on the skin, no water on the dog for 24 hours or at all after treatment. I was frankly, pretty shocked. This is an older small dog with arthritis. He is already in some pain and to find the ticks on him on top of this frankly really upset me. I breed Chihuahuas and I also foster cats/kittens. My Chihuahuas are litter box trained so they rarely get fleas because they dont spend a whole lot of time outside. Even when we go for walks, theyre in a dog stroller lol. Anyways… I fostered a litter of kittens that were found outside and covered in fleas. I gave them all dawn baths because they were too small for any flea medicine and my Chihuahuas ended up with fleas. I needed a product that was safe for pregnant/ nursing mama which frontline is. Finally something that works consistently. After trying probably 10-15 brands of flea and tick stuff for my Dogs this is the company I come back to. Ive tried expensive stuff, Ive tried dirt cheap stuff. This works and works FAST. I actually have to put my dogs out if they have fleas on them at all. Weve had issues with super fleas here in northeast USA where the only thing Ive found to work is old fashion dawn dish soap and salt.Ive literally spread salt on all my floors so it looks like snow and left it sit over night then vacuum it up and then mop with dawn dish soap, everyday for over a week straight. I am seeing reviews that have me wondering what people expect? Maybe read up on everything fully before complaining? Yes, you will still see fleas every time your dog goes outside if there are fleas out there. They will pick them up on walks and even at pet stores! They come I to your yard on other animals and on their own. Frontline is NOT a repellent. You also need to make sure you gollow the directions for application! Wait at LEAST 48hrs to apply if you have bathed tour dog as it travels via their natural skin oils and they need time to develop if they have been stripped away by soap/shampoo, as well as making sure you wait at least a week before bathing them after it is applied and make sure it is either a gentile baby shampoo or a ph balanced dog shampoo that does not have skin drying agents and says it is approved for use with flea treatment. Most good dog shampoo is these days. Dogs really shouldn't get more than one full bath (deep scrub) a month when possible. We use a natural ph balenced for dogs waterless shampoo in between baths as well as sensitive skin baby wipes if needed. If you live in areas with fleas outside (especially warmer, dry states like Oklahoma and Texas) they WILL get on your pet. However, they die after exposure to the Frontline, it usually takes about 24-48hrs to notice a difference when you first start using it if your dog is already infested. If you have a flea issue in your area then I recommend treatment of your yard as well! We had to treat our yard every summer and fall for the first 4 yrs we were here as the people next door to us have 3 dogs, chickens (in town smh) and other animals and I do not know if they use any kind of treatment and the people that lived in our house before us had 4 dogs and I do not think they used treatment at all because it was a nightmare in our backyard the first 2-3 years fighting them after we moved in. We have been here for 6yrs now and haven't had to treat our yard for the past year or two and we only have to apply Frontline every other month on our dog now. I still see a few fleas here or there once in a while at the beginning of summer (in our yard) and throughout fall usually (on our dog) if we have been out to the lake or to the park or something but that's all. That tells me that Frontline still works just fine. Anyone that has ever dealt with a true flea infestation knows the difference! They reproduce so fast that your whole house is overrun before you even realize they are a problem, literally in a month if left untreated they are everywhere, on furniture, all over your house, on you even, to the point you end up having to bug bomb your entire house (been there done that our first summer here, it was insane! I had never seen anything like it before). We have been using Frontline since on our 74lb dog(just the up to 88lb one), after extensive research on everything out there for flea control including the oral types our vet carries I still maintain that Frontline Plus is the absolute safest choice for those of us that do not like using things like pesticides/chemicals on ourselves, our yard or our pets unless absolutely necessary and prefer natural remedies when possible. Unfortunately, flea treatment is not one of those things you can go chemical free on. We also treat our yard and even our woods around our yard. But this still happened! I contacted my vet concerned for my dogs health. I've used this since we quit using flea collars (years ago) Over the years we have used nothing but Front Line. We live in a rural area with wild animals around. I've used it on puppies, kittens, Labradors and dogs weighing only 7 pounds! It is absolutely the best as I never have had a problem with fleas or ticks. I also have never had any animal show any signs of a bad reaction. I've never used any other product because I've never needed to!April
