Dog Flea And Worm Treatment For Sale (2024 Update)

My 7 week old tri color bully has vomited in his third day at our house, I googled and saw it said it’s normal for pups to do this sometimes, no worries. Two days later early morning(6:50am EST) he vomited then about 10 minutes later he pooped out about 8 long worms, found they were Roundworms. I immediately went to Meijer and grabbed two boxes of this 7 Way De-Wormer for Small Dogs and gave him a tablet which he happily chomped down. He passed loads of dead worms in each stool that day(like twice). The next morning his belly wasn’t bloated anymore but he wouldn’t eat much but drank water. By the evening he was felling great and back running through the house, he passed about 3-4 live worms in 2 of his 3 stools that day, the third stool had no worms! On the third day there were no more worms in his stool but I gave him the other tablet because I saw a very good vet recommend one deworming tablet day one, a second on day three then again in two weeks. It’s day 6 and he’s been worm free for going on 3 days! I went and stocked up on puppy and Dog dewormers today because all the stores are sold out and Meijer had just set out a bunch.BattleScars&BeautyMarks

It says not to use til 12 weeks on the box, however if your pup is over 6 lbs then I think its okay to use. My little girl is a pit and catahoula mix and shes only about 7-8 weeks old and she handled the dewormer very well. She passed a HUGE tapeworm 🤢 we decided to deworm her due to tape worm segments being passed every so often which is absolutely gross. It took a little over 24 hours for her to pass everything. This is the single most effective and affordable dewormer for dogs. I will recommend this dewormer to everyone and use it for any puppies that I have in the future. Liquid dewormer from the feed store has NOTHING on this stuff and my puppy wanted to eat more of the tablet so I guess it was good. Seriously, get this for your pet you will not regret it.Sara

These worked right away for my 12 pound 1 year old dog. It took overnight to see the results. I snuck it into a chewy treat before bedtime and he didn’t notice it at all since they are super small. After receiving only 1 of the 2 pills (give second pill 2-3 months later for lasting results), he didn’t have anymore worms coming out of his poop and randomly out of his butt. He was constipated for about two weeks to a month and I don’t know if it had anything to do with the worms or the pill but he’s never had that issue before. It was a pretty quick fix by switching out his food temporarily for soft/watery food. Do not think twice about getting it for them as it is life threatening to wait too long for a vet visit. I purchase this product for my 13 year old – 5 pound 2 ounce Chihuahua. I started purchasing from Petmeds because my Vet has been having supply issues, and wanting to change my Fur babies medication to different medications every month to every 3 months. Considering my Fur babies age and possible complications in constant changing of medications I decided that Petmeds was a better option for our Family. I also like that there are some savings involved with purchasing from Petmeds than purchasing from my Vet. Petmeds also includes a treat for my Fur baby, however I do have to break it into several smaller pieces. Maybe consider a treat for a small Fur baby instead of one that would be more appropriate for my larger German Shepherd Siberia Husky Fur baby.Settles Fur Babies

I have 2 very picky dogs, whom despite not having table food, turn their noses up at a LOT of treats, and meals. I had to cancel a subscription box I had for them because they only liked the toys and not the treats. I also have tried many different oral flea meds and the same thing, they will not eat it, no matter how I try to mask it in cheese or chicken, they could just smell it. With these, it doesn't have that chemical/grassy smell, and I have no issues giving it to them wrapped in chicken. They don't like to eat it by itself, but if I leave it on the floor long enough, they will eventually eat it. Since I have 2 dogs, I can't just leave it there in case one of them eats both doses so I wrap it in some chicken and they gobble it right up. I rescued Peanut 8 months ago. He's a senior dog, about 10-12 years old. Even though I had just lost my 16 year old male to congestive heart failure. I knew this little guy needed me. He had a severe skin infection, so he needed something oral to take instead of putting it on his neck. This is a small chew, very easy for him to chew. This works well. It is non greasy and doesn't have a funky smell like some other topical flea meds. The problem with topical is that sometimes they stop working . Therefore you switch to the other brand . But so far I have not had to switch. It definitely works well and recommend to many people.deb.n

I am hesitant to use these types of products compulsively for preventive measures. Fortunately, We’ve not been in an area where fleas are out of control outside, as we have had problems in the past with other pets. These types of topical medicines would only be effective for a maximum of 1 1/2 to 2 weeks at best. And then our previous dog, and coincidentally our cat also, developed tumors where these types of medicines were being applied. I can’t say for certain that they were the cause. But it’s very suspicious that it happened in both animals. The dog we noticed first. And maybe a year or so later our cat. They both lived to past 11 years. And our dog was also on meds for epilepsy. Only briefly because he would spit out the meds no matter how clever I thought I was in hiding them. So, since he refused to take them, I stopped trying to make him. His grand mal seizures were frequent and long lasting. But, he just got better at spitting out the pills, even if I shoved them down his throat. i have only had to use these topicals a few times in our current dogs short life, so far. And it seemed to work fine and for as long as it said it was supposed to work. And when she or we seem a bit more itchy, I apply it again, and wait until it’s “needed”, again- as opposed to routinely scheduled once every month. And in my opinion, it works better than capstar, which is meant as a short acting topical to immediately relieve a flea problem getting out of control. But for whatever reason, this works better for us, even though it might take a few days to really notice results. (I never really noticed immediate results with. Capstar. It helped make the problem not get any worse. But it didn’t solve the problem either.)shelly.c

What I liked is that it was easy to apply, and it work quickly and efficiently , neither of my dogs had any type of negative side effects, there was no redness or scaliness or itchiness at the point of the application, and less than 36 hours all fleas were sufficiently gone. I applied initially weekly, vacuum daily, steam cleaned, wash bedding constantly, etc. I don’t even have carpet but on the stairs and have treated the stairs and couches with Predcor. I even bought those flea traps with the sticky bottoms. I am not including any of this in that total I spent– that was all on the flea medications themselves for the 6 animals. I have saved some, not all, of the vials so on 11/13 I called Elanco. They denied my request for any type of refund. They questioned my exact dosage dates and frequency more than a doctor wants to know about your menstrual cycles but I took my best guesses, for all 6 animals although I did know what schedule they were on but didn't have it in front of me. Then they said that the product was probably not working because I bathed my dogs initially at the beginning 48 hours before application?? Their website TELLS you to bathe them before application (see 2nd screenshot posted)! I stopped bathing them after the 2nd application as it wasn't working and the dogs were miserable and only tried 2 cats (and really only 1 successfully because we all know how that goes). They then told me that I didn't give the product long enough?? Their website states (see 3rd screenshot) and is the same for Advantage II "K9 Advantix® II kills fleas within 12 hours. New fleas that jump on the dog from the surroundings, such as grass, carpet and pet bedding, are killed within 2 hours with protection against further infestation for at least 4 weeks." We had easily and successfully used liquid Advantix for years with our Plott hound mix. We now have a beagle. Beagle hair is different; it's thick, coarse, oily, kind of water proof and difficult to part in order to properly apply the liquid to the skin. Advantix is a very good product, but pet owners may want to assess their pet's coat to determine how the liquid application could be applied.Gary

I used 1 bottle and It was like I used nothing at all. Mind you I walk my dog and when he comes in the house I would find 2 or 3 live ticks walking on him. So I figured ok maybe it didnt work or I didnt wait long enough. After about 10 days of this I applied another bottle and again nothing. He still kept coming in the house with ticks every time. So I'm not sure exactly what's going on but the package I received appeared to be authentic. All serial numbers matched and packages were sealed well. Poison. I have had my dogs on heart guard plus various flea meds for decades. None of them had any issues. My new puppy is a Boykin Spaniel. He is 8 months old. At six months old, I gave him one dose of Trifexis 10-20 pounds. He was fine for 2 days then it turned south. He vomited over 5 times, was lethargic (very abnormal), stared at the floor and drooled like he ate a toad. He looked awful. The vet had no idea of the cause and at the time neither did I. 600$ later from the emergency vet, we had him on fluids and various meds.

I thought it could have been the Trifexis but the 3 day window made my vet think it may not have been. So 45 days later, I gave him a 20-40 lb dose. He was fine for 48 hours, and bang. Same issue appears. We are heading back to the emergency vet. It’s time to take this garbage off the shelves. Too many dogs struggle with it. And I’m pissed this poison remains a quality option for anyone.Brian Hobson

I have been using trifexis since it came out many years ago! It was mentioned to me by my vet who sits on the liscenceing board in TN. I have used it with my dogs past and present! I can't imagine having a dog and trifexis not being a part of it! I know exactly how it's going to act in my dogs systems and in my opinion, I wouldn't trust anything else for Finn or Rocky ever! It works! Thank goodness something that works. I used to use a popular topical flea and tick medicine that worked great out in the West, North West and North East part of the country but for some reason not here in the south. We tried several flea and tick medications before we found this little gem. I’m so happy we found a flea medication that works in Florida. The only thing I don’t like about this is, its does not include a tick repellent and it’s really hard to get my dog to eat it. It really must not taste good. I try to hide it in lots of different treats but she almost always finds it and spit’s it out.Tammyfayy

The product works great, however read this carefully to determine the quantity to order, the website is misleading. The manufacturer sells the product in 1 gram (small dog), 2 gram (medium dog), and 4 gram (large dog) sizes. Each package contains 3 packets to be given over 3 days. In order to get the correct amount for your dog's weight, you may need to order more than one package. According to the manufacturers instructions, you need to administer one gram of product (daily) for every ten pounds of animal weight. So, up to: 10 lbs = 1 gram; 20 lbs = 2 grams; 30 lbs = 3 grams; 40 lbs = 4 grams; 50 lbs = 5 grams; 60 lbs = 6 grams, etc. So, if your dog weighs 11 to 20 lbs, you need to order a 2 gram (medium dog) size and give him 1 packet per day for 3 days. But if your dog weighs 21-30 lbs, you need to order a 1 gram (small dog) AND a 2 gram (medium dog) package, and give your dog a packet from each size for 3 days. The product is a powder; many dogs will not eat it on dry food, so if you usually feed your dog dry food, mix it in with some wet dogfood and most dogs will chow it down. A puppy was pretty much dropped in my lap several days ago, her belly was SO bloated as she hadn't had any vet care prior. Before even getting her home I pondered the wormers at our local Petco, selected this one. On day 3 the worms came out, though her poor bloated belly was reduced after the first day. Will use this again if worming can't wait for the vet. Due to her weight we did have to weigh out the medicine (half a gram ='s 1/4 teaspoon), and you must have an accurate weight on the dog and an accurate measuring device for it to be as effective as it can be without giving too much. I went with the Safeguard brand because I've been using the livestock version for other animals with success. She ate it fine with cooked chicken/broth mixed into her kibble.Mandy R

during the late fall to the end of winter I give these to my dogs to prevent worms. Then early spring I switch over to Heartguard. You get three packs. I use two packs per dog per month. Each pack 40 pounds. Total 80 pound dog. Sprinkle in with a quarter cup of warm broth, stir well. pour over their dry food and blend in. They won't notice and eat their food. Sneaky but, it works. Saves me tons of money. I have two large dogs and Heart-guard can be very expensive every month so I subsitute during the cool to cold months. You save and your dogs stay healthy from worms. Plus Most brand name worm meds don't prevent your dog from getting whipping worms. Safe-guard does.Mayberry1958

Not sure how well it works yet but the directions are awful on this package. I like to be 100% sure on something before I do it. Nowhere on this package does it say how to give this to ur dog, do u give them both at the same time? I’m assuming so and that’s what I did but what if I was wrong? I have used this product for 10 years. I really don't like giving my dog pesticides or chemicals, but there are times when it is necessary. I have never had any bad side effects in either dog I have treated and they were both healthy, muscular and happy. I used the product twice a year.bjsbeau

Gave this to my one year old cat and within an hour she started vomiting, she rapidly got worse and started having tremors, brought her to the vet and they said she had ingested something toxic but couldn’t see anything obvious either in vomit or blood or urine, I informed them of the wormer and all he had to say was well we used to use that but don’t anymore, 5 days later she died. I was reluctant if this product would work. I was concerned if the kitties would notice the taste or not eat all their food on the plate at one sitting. I put just a tad into some Whipped Cream (it does the trick every time!) and every cat not only ate the medication, the plate was licked dry. Have not noticed any fine pieces of "rice" so know its done its job. If you are lucky – Purchase from the best Seller on ebay "MTCMAMA1" and the product will arrive already crushed finely into foil packets and ready to put into something yummy kitty cannot afford to miss. Well the wormer came quick. I have German Shepherds so the price was great since there are 6 in the package and my dogs each got two tablets. They were a bit hesitant to eat them but with a little coaxing they did. It was a routine worming so unsure if it was effective or if they had worms. Very happy with this product. We have a new pup from shelter, fostered and adopted. He had received one dose of dewormer at shelter intake. Noticed tapeworms in his stool and dead ones in kennel. Immediately started looking for dewormer that covers tapes. Was able to purchase this with the help of a friendly female employee. As you’ve read on many other reviews, this product is dangerous and potentially deadly for cats. We gave our cat, Loki, this product and not even 4 hours later she started displaying signs of progressing toxicity… she began to present tremors, antisocial behavior and discomfort. She could not find comfort at all, and she seemed to be agitated and had problems walking. So we took her to the ER around midnight and they kept her overnight to stabilize her. The next morning she was discharged – but still presents this behavior. I fear that if we hadn’t taken her in, this product would have killed her. Only time will tell if it leaves irreversible neurological damage…

This company has a bad history of product related deaths and damages – and I see they’ve faced a few lawsuits and recalls as well. This company needs to compensate for all damages, and shut down immediately! This has gone on for 7+ years to no avail.

As soon as I opened the bottle it was so strong definitely not like any other flea or dick drops I ever used before I put the whole thing on our stray kitty that comes and sleeps in the hall to be safe at night and is well fed and taken care of. Within hours of pouring this down my dogs back it started to affect her nervous system causing her to continuously rock side to side in a sitting, laying, and standing position. It caused extreme discomfort and she became very anti social. Luckily a member of my family is a veterinary and she told me to give her a bath immediately with “DAWN DISH SOAP” and purchase some “ SPRING VALLEY ACTIVATED CHARCOAL SUPPLEMENTS” and give her 20!!

If you’re experiencing any of the sort I would wash my pet immediately and give him/her the correct amount of pills based on their weight.

Absolutely useless product. I am aware this is only useful for 24 hours. My dog enjoyed eating it as a treat but other than that it's useless! It did absolutely nothing in 24 hours if anything it seemed like it made it worse! All it seemed to do was irritate the fleas and make them bite more! Also another thing to note after taking this my dogs were extremely extremely thirsty like I've never seen before! My poor boy. The fleas love him. I can give him a flea bath every day and he's still infested. After trying daily baths, over the counter remides treating my yard and topical treatments, nothing worked so I decided to try a oral treatment. I swear by this. After one treatment I would find fleas on my bed (he jumps up on my bed when I'm not looking because I didn't want to share his unwanted friends) my blanket was covered…. of dead or dying fleas. 1 TREATMENT people. I wanted this to work so bad because my dog is highly allergic to fleas and shreds himself up even when he has the topical flea prevention. Even if a dog around him has fleas he breaks out (our neighbor dog has fleas so my poor pup get around them). I saw this and wanted to try to give him some relief to my itchy pooch. The first day, I saw 3 fleas on my dog and purposefully left them on there to see if it worked. I came back in an hour and they were still there. I figured since it says up to 4 hrs I would wait. Later in the day I checked him, fleas still there. So I thought may it took some time for his body to get accustomed to it. The next day same story, he went outside in the morning I checked him saw he has some fleas, gave him a pill checked him about an hour and a half later, fleas are still having a party. Let it set for the rest of the afternoon and checked him before dinner, still the fleas are alive and kicking. 3rd day same story. At this point I can see it isn’t working and I wasted the $25 it costs for it. At least I didn’t spend the $50 for the month. Look at the reviews and notice several of us back to back have rated it the same so obviously something is wrong here. Avoid and save your money and spend it on the more expensive one!Kate

I’ve only used this once to dip both dogs, and the results are beyond amazing. Both bulldogs had some weird skin thing on their back. Not mange, not fleas, not food allergies … the vets couldn’t figure it out, but they were scratching and rubbing themselves bald and raw. TSC has always been my go to for all the animals, and Martins dip was recommended to me by the cashier. I figured it couldn’t hurt to try, ordered online – and I’m blown away. Within 24 hours they stopped scratching. Within a week the hair was growing back. Ten days later, and the bald patches are almost gone and their skin is healed. This definately killed all the fleas on my dog right away. I have a bichon poo and so he has long fluffy fur. This left his fur so soft. The soap itself is very watery and lots just goes down the drain. However, it did work up a good lather unlike what some reviews have said. Bad news is, it does not repel fleas from my experience. Fleas still jump on him and stay. So, I sprayed my yard and house. As well as get him an all natural flea collar repellent. I would much rather use this wash that a Capstar. It worked fast and did kill the fleas on him.M. A.

We purchased this shampoo, as our Rottweiler was very itchy at night. Prior to buying this, I asked how long would this shampoo work? The shampoo works immediately. Essentially it kills any live fleas on the dog, however, this shampoo is not made to continue fighting fleas days later. You need to invest in getting your dog on a flea treatment program to combat ongoing flea issues. As a first time user of this shampoo, I can see my dog is scratching less, and appears to be much more comfortable. I'll be using this shampoo going forward.Mommas_Rottie

This works! I was using an all natural shampoo but my poor puppy needed more help. Shes too young for a flea medication so I used this once a week and in between used the natural flea shampoo. Fleas fell off in sink. I gain a sense of satisfaction when I wash them down the drain. But you need to keep it lathered on pet for a few minutes at least before rinsing off. I have a large Maine coon and knew I could not use just any spray. I had tried cheap flea drops and they did nothing. My big guy, 20 pounds and 3 feet of pure muscle, was unaffected by the drops and continuing to become more and more miserable. ENTER SCENE: ADVANTAGE! My husband and I tried this as a last shot before shelling out the money for a vet groomer flea bath. Well, as we are spraying this all over the big guy, the fleas were jumping ship, becoming paralyzed, and doing everything possible to get away from this stuff! A disgusting amount of fleas were pulled from his fluffy self and a million fleas were dead on the floor. I recommend putting paper towels down on the floor before starting so the clean up is easy. Also, we used one full can on our big guy in that one application so STOCK UP! I'm telling you, the look he gave me after spraying him was one of gratitude and relief. He followed me around the house meowing at my feet and rubbing himself on my ankles. I love my big guy and he knows it. Advantage, you are the best. I'll be buying 3 more cans today.KacieCole

If spraying around the house or perimeter of your rugs you don’t need much. I sprayed the baseline of my Chihuahua (behind neck down to tail) and realized it was a bit much. It worked but not immediately. The purpose of my use was for flea eggs I spotted and some live ones on my dog as well. I recommend a flea bath first then the spray. It does have a strong smell. The can was gone in a single use. So again, reminder you don’t need to spray as much as you may think. It works!Taco2012

I just received this today and wow soon I apply and start working it to the skin I watched fleas die. It works amazing. Smells like strong alcohol but works great. Sprayed my cat and worked to the skin with fingers then towel dried and instant results and relief for my catRobert

Cheaper to buy in bulk. Works much better than frontline! Which I had used for years. Tho more expensive, well worth it for how well it works! Highly recommend to anyone with dogs. I will be buying this again absolutelyjamie.b

It's affordable and better than similarly priced other topical products. I prefer an oral product but not all will eat it, so I use this for those animals. Lasts about 2 weeks only. Gets rid of about 80% of the fleas.randi s

I've sued this for years on our tiny poodles and it works great. They never get fleas, never get sicks from use. The only draw back it the dog smells for about 24 hours. You might not want to pet them agressively during that time.Oregon2017

Not as expected. I have 3 dogs that weigh between 4 to 7 pounds. Followed instructions and had to reapply after 2 weeks as mentioned. I continued picking off old and new fleas until the next dose was due. And it's the same thing. Picking fleas all the time. And this is the second 6 count box (expensive!) So I have given it a fair shot.Karla
