I had high hopes for this to work with my year old lab. He suffers from outdoor allergies. I felt like this product made it worst for him. He was itching like crazy. As soon as I stopped giving these supplements, his itching subsided but yet still scratching, so off again I go to look for something to help with his allergies. Ok, so I wanted to rate this product 5 stars but I can't. Does the product kill the fleas? Yes. If you are looking for a quick fix, this is your product. I saw results immediately. However, I did have to use another tablet to kill the fleas (which was suggested on the box). This box came with 6 tablets. However, if you read the description on the product it says that results will not last more than 24 hours, meaning this is not a long term solution compared to NexGard. If you know for certain your dog is not going back to a flea area and this is just a quick fix, buy this. I would buy this for my cat since he's an indoor cat only. But I wouldn't use this for my dogs for long term use since I am always taking them to parks. So, if you''re looking for a quick fix, this is it. But I wouldn't waste your money if you're looking for a long term solution. I really wanted to like this. Maybe I will just by the NexGard after all. i just hate how expensive it is.TRios

I ordered online last night and picked it up at Petco store this afternoon. It worked well for my dog(24 lb)! My 3 cats came down with fleas. We believe it was our adopted outdoor cat. Anyway, our other adopted cat has flea dermatitis and was breaking out in horrific sores as well as losing fur and being miserable. Our 3rd cat we are fostering for a friend and ended up losing fur too. We tried Diatomaceous Earth which controlled it, but no elimination. We finally ordered Capstar as a last ditch resort. My boxer loves everyone, including local friendly feral cats that sneak into her outdoor bed while she’s in at night. She would constantly get fleas and even worse were the sand fleas. The Capstar seems to be doing the job and her backside is looking better. Since I can’t pet or bathe the feral strays, I dosed some mackerel and they seem to be itching and scratching much less too. We have 4 dogs and live in the country near the state line of Alabama and Tennessee. Our dogs have about an acre of fenced in land to roam free. Now mind you, the fleas were super bad this year. Applying this product was so messy. It got all over my cats back and shoulders. It smelled awful and it took over a week to completely absorb into my cats skin and fur. I wrote a review about ten months ago slightly more than two days after applying this product. But there were issues after that time that I feel I should share. I was beyond disappointed with how terribly oily and messy it was — no one could even touch or play with my dog, which he didn't understand of course. Application left a huge oily spot that was not absorbed even after a week and I could not begin to rub it in – trying to do that just spread it around a larger area on my dog and got it all over myself. And it readily rubbed off on anything he lay on or brushed by. After a few days the product smelled bad as well. And I found a tick walking right through the oily area so it obviously does not repel ticks. When it became obvious the product was not going to be absorbed, I tried washing the area. After washing it three times there was still oily residue. In addition, my dog's hair had become darkened and discolored on his back and shoulder area where the product had been applied and where it had run. After ten months it still has not returned to what was its normal color before the product was applied and I don't know that it ever will. Another reason I am writing a follow up to my first review is that even after all the comments here about the ineffectiveness, oiliness, messiness, problems to dogs, staining of dog beds/furniture/clothing, etc. there is nothing in the description of the product to indicate that there have been any efforts to improve it. And there is still no disclosure about how truly messy it is, no warnings about the staining, etc. Consumers deserve to know this information. There are sufficient numbers of problems mentioned here that these comments should be taken seriously by the manufacturer and efforts be made to improve the product. I certainly take seriously that my dog's coat seems permanently discolored, all the time wasted on this product and trying to clean it off my dog, and the confusion it caused my dog because I could not handle him normally for days. It truly created a substantial disruption to our lives for more than a week. Not to speak of the time and hassle to return the product. So address these issues and maybe I'll try it again. I would love to have a non-toxic, natural product to use for fleas and ticks when needed but this is not the answer.

Beejers (a rescue Pom-Chi) is just 7 lbs and I used the expensive stuff on him the first 3 months when he came to his forever home with the 2 Bengals & I, cuz it said "WATER-PROOF". Beat stuff ever! We have three cats and after one went outside she got fleas and they quickly spread to her sisters. We tried chemical shampoo, but that made one of our cats foam at the mouth. Next we tried dawn, but getting three cats into the tub for a rinse left us with lots of scratches and scared cats. After doing a lot of research we came upon this and let me tell you it did the trick. Because two of the three cats sleep on my daughters bed we had to treat her bed as well as the cats. .So I bought this spray along with the natural care flea and tick shampoo. my poor pups had their first experience with fleas, i didnt know why they were scratching so much (it was also my first experience for fleas) but once i looked through one of my pups fur, i immediately saw three fleas. i went straight to walmart, got my products and treated my pups. i prepared a warm bath, dunked them both into the water, lathered them up really good, let it sit for 6 minutes and i rinsed them. in the bath water, i saw the fleas and i also saw a couple ticks that i didnt know they had lol. Had fleas so bad that when it rained and you walked in my yard your legs would get covered. After using the Advantage Drops they were just gone. I mean gone. We have a house of pets including cats and a dog along with carpeted bedrooms. This means during the Spring and Summer we have to clean and vacuum daily and keep on top of flea prevention otherwise it is a nightmare! Anyone with pets and carpets understands. Since we live in the South very few flea products actually work for our animals and I’m not sure why, but it has to do with the fleas and immune to so many products. However, I did have to use another tablet to kill the fleas (which was suggested on the box). This box came with 6 tablets. However, if you read the description on the product it says that results will not last more than 24 hours, meaning this is not a long term solution compared to NexGard. If you know for certain your dog is not going back to a flea area and this is just a quick fix, buy this. I would buy this for my cat since he's an indoor cat only. But I wouldn't use this for my dogs for long term use since I am always taking them to parks. So, if you''re looking for a quick fix, this is it. First of all, NEVER diss the value of a vet check: your pet , cat or dog, has to be healthy enough for ANY correctly used flea remedies. Yes, vets need to stay in business and some of their prices are quite higher than some reputable online sellers offer. This product alone will not end your flea-festation if it is bad. Fleas spend only a tiny portion of their time on the animal- otherwise they're in your carpets, cracks, furniture, yards- but fleas do normally "dine" twice a day. Giving this oral pill once daily will START to deal with your problem, killing each flea that bites within 24 hours. Nitenpyram is used for both dogs and cats. * Once your cat is cleared for this medication, and weighs at least 3 pounds, it is cost saving to BREAK one 57mg( packaged for Dogs over 25 pounds) tablet into 4 quarters and use one of these quarters for a cat. The normal cat dosage is only 11mg/ the quarter is 14.25mg, not a substantial difference, in fact some vets sell this product this way- at $6-10 per quarter. You do the math. i got these for my 85 lb dog. seems like it helps he doesnt itch as much after use. i see no fleas.i used the smaller sized dog 1 on my 10lb dog it worked too. you have to 30 day treat. i have 3 dogs and a cat all wear seresto collars but still got fleas somehow ,so since the collars allow to treat with topicals i used advantage plus on all 4. they still have fleas. im using these on top of all that and check my dogs weekly. keep coming up with 4 fleas on 1 dog and 8 on my cat. i dont understand why none of these products are working. the vet says fleas are immune. hows that possible?! id say if this doesnt seem to be working cause you see fleas it probably is but not killing the eggs so its repeat the process. plus do your house. rugs hardwood floors too. why the $80 topicalslhayes

I've been using petarmor for quite a few years now, and not ever an issue, would find a dead flea once in a while. now this new order I received, first dose and both my dogs are having anywhere from 4-7 fleas everyday on each of them. After months and months of continuously attempting to get rid of fleas in the home, I finally decided to try a more expensive flea treatment for the cats (indoor cats, have always been indoor cats, previous home occupants had pets which is where the fleas came from!) this Advantage started to work straight away! You could see the little buggers surfacing to the top of the cats coat and you could tell they were dying as they were slowing down. 3 weeks later and cats are flea free! Definitely use a spot on treatment at the same time as a home treatment to ensure no fleas jump back on the cats. I bought these because I needed decent but reasonably priced flea treatment for my 7 8 week old kittens.. The delivery was abit slower than i anticipated and the boxes were a bit battered but not so badly that the vials were damaged. I put this on the kittens as directed and within a few minutes tgey were all scratching, (possibly due to the effect that it had on any fleas they had) but other than that they all just acted normally. It has now been over 36 hours since they were treated with it and they are all still happy and healthy. This product was bittersweet. My dog didn't like the spray, for obvious reasons. It was loud and freaked her out. I used this in unison with K9 Advantix and it worked well. The wipes were only a surface remedy and made it easier for me to protect her ears and around her face. The smell is pretty strong but it isn't unpleasant. Your dog will smell for a bit, but again not unpleasant. Just…not a normal smell lol. Again, it's more of a surface application. As far as flea and tick prevention goes, for me, the other styles just don't work for various reasons. My dog and cats won't take pills. The drops always leave a greasy spot between their shoulder blades. The collars make me itch when I'm petting them. Sprays freak them out, understandably. I am hesitant to use these types of products compulsively for preventive measures. Fortunately, We’ve not been in an area where fleas are out of control outside, as we have had problems in the past with other pets. These types of topical medicines would only be effective for a maximum of 1 1/2 to 2 weeks at best. And then our previous dog, and coincidentally our cat also, developed tumors where these types of medicines were being applied. I can’t say for certain that they were the cause. But it’s very suspicious that it happened in both animals. The dog we noticed first. And maybe a year or so later our cat. They both lived to past 11 years. And our dog was also on meds for epilepsy. Only briefly because he would spit out the meds no matter how clever I thought I was in hiding them. So, since he refused to take them, I stopped trying to make him. His grand mal seizures were frequent and long lasting. But, he just got better at spitting out the pills, even if I shoved them down his throat. i have only had to use these topicals a few times in our current dogs short life, so far. And it seemed to work fine and for as long as it said it was supposed to work. And when she or we seem a bit more itchy, I apply it again, and wait until it’s “needed”, again- as opposed to routinely scheduled once every month. And in my opinion, it works better than capstar, which is meant as a short acting topical to immediately relieve a flea problem getting out of control. But for whatever reason, this works better for us, even though it might take a few days to really notice results. (I never really noticed immediate results with. Capstar. It helped make the problem not get any worse. But it didn’t solve the problem either.)shelly.c

I absolutely loved this for my fur babies! What I DID NOT love was that like this past year, flea/tick season was so weird! Twice I found LIVE TICKS on me, after loving up on my baby boy, Lizard. (Male black n white cat) He is an indoor/outdoor baby, but I haven't ever had a problem like this until now. Worth mentioning, my female brindle colored cat also had irritation from this year's applications. She has to have prednisone each day, along with a topical treatment, otherwise she's in agony from inflammation and itching! I am NOT stating that it was the fault of this brand. Don't really know what changes was done to the formula . But Advantage 2 works no where near as good as it as the original formula . My cat(s) for years have always been an inside cat & used it for years with great success. I recently adopted a cat & started using Adtg.2. A week to a week & a half is about tops before you start to see your cat start scratching again. Not good especially for what they charge for the stuff. Another example of "don't fix it if it ain't broke". But I guess the all mighty dollar took care of that. Next time I take my cat to the vet I'll ask about other options.
