My dog went a few days with excessive "goop" from his eyes. Since my dog hasn't had a history with this, and doesn't seem to have seasonal allergies, the vet suggested an antimicrobial for the eye irritation and I went with this ophthalmic gel based on the luck I've had with other Vetericyn products in the past. I started with a tiny drop on the corner of my dog's eye to be sure he wouldn't have any reaction to it. Later that day, I went ahead and applied a few drops in each of his eyes. I applied the gel two times a day for three days in a row and by the fourth day his eyes had stopped having discharge. It is almost like my dog knew the drops would make him feel better as he kept his head very still when I applied the gel to his eyes. The shape of the dispenser where you squeeze the product out of makes it very easy to apply the gel to their eyes. While it is a "gel," it comes out of the dispenser fairly quickly which I find allows for an accurate application. The gel-like substance is great to confirm that you got the gel where you want it to go. Went out one morning and caught a glimpse of what looked like a little scratch on my horses eye. No its like everything else I have tried does not work I can't even get my cats to get it down. My 20 y.o. senior cat has had upper respiratory issues since he was 1 year old, but had gotten so chronic and so bad that he has literally had a stuffy nose and sneezing for an entire year straight. My animals tend to get what I call "goopy eyes" from time to time, mostly irritated from hay or just allergies or dust etc. I have used products similar to this in the past. I used this antimicrobial gel to help clear the irritants in their eyes. It worked and seemed to soothe their eyes right after I used it… However, unlike the current product I use, I found myself having to use it again a few hours later because the symptoms had come back. Compared to another brand that I use for the same purpose, I would not switch at this time and would not buy this product. As far as recommending it to a family member or friend, if what they were using was not working – I would recommend using it and giving it a try. I am very pleased with this product. It has a great consistency-not too tacky but not too runny either. I use this product on our 2 dogs. One tends to get dirt/other irritants in her eyes and then her eyes get red and itchy. Despite the challenges we faced when applying the eye gel, we were happy with the results. After 2 days of 2 applications each, Cooper's eye goobers had disappeared. This lasted for about 4 days before we started noticing the goobers again. Overall the product worked and we were happy with it. However, it was difficult to apply and seems unecessary for simple eye goobers, especially with the 1 to 2 times a week application requirement. The product is easy to use and doesn't seem to cause any discomfort in any way to my 2 dogs eyes. Seems to break up the goo "slightly" when put on cotton and gently used to clean their eyes. This product doe NOT "whiten" the eye area at all! I was hoping it would whiten as my white dog has VERY stained tear duct areas and I haven't found anything that really works! I haven't really tried too many cleaners because I do NOT want to cause discomfort or irritation to their eyes being such a very sensitive area to be cleaned. My indoor only cat has had some discharge around her eyes. Decided to try the Cliny Eye Cleaner. I used a cotton ball and wiped her eyes really good with the cleaner. She didn't seem to mind it at all so it must not have burned or irritated her. The lotion feels really smooth and wipes on easily. With water as part of the composition I don't think there should be any problem with it. To be fair about this review, this is the first time I have used this product with no problem. This item was recommended by my eye doctor. I was to use it every night for a couple months to rid me of irritating scar tissue from a minor injury. It worked and it was suggested by the same doctor to use (at night) if my eyes get irritated by dryness. I would also recommend 'REFRESH' advanced eye drops for daytime if your experiencing dry/irritating eyes. These products can also be used for preventive maintenance if you know in advance that you'll be in dry weather or excessive light. I have dry eye and map dot fingerprint dystrophy. Muro128 eye ointment is an absolute must for my eyes. I have been using it for about 35 years! I also have to use an additional ointment as well, but cannot do without either one. So thank you for carrying this product, and please keep it up! I have tried other dry eye products, but they just don't work. Muro128 is thick and white so when you put it in the eyes, immediately you cannot see well but I use it just before bedtime, and so I don't need to see well when I sleep. I also have problems with my eyelids not closing all the way when I sleep, so the thick layer of moisture on the eyes keeps them from drying out during sleep. If I was not forced by Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance company I would not use CVS pharmacy. I am so tired of their incompetency. I am so tired of standing in there lines. I am so tired of hearing about their Covid testing before getting to any pharmacy questions. I am so tired of no one answering their phones. I am so tired of them being understaffed. CVS is one of the worst managed companies I have ever seen. Why they ever rate it as a buy is a mystery to me. Obviously they have never been forced to be a consumer. We use this for our sheltie, Jazzy Jay-Bird. An adenocarcinoma on her neck has atrophied the muscles on one side, causing her left eyelid to stay slightly open all the time. Our dog seems to like the way it feels in his eyes. He is totally blind but he doesn't try to rub it out, as with other drops that veterinarians have prescribed in the past. In fact at morning and night both, he seems to sense when it is time for us to put in his drops. He starts barking at us when it's time and bumps his way into the kitchen, where we usually apply them. If he doesn't need to go outside to pee or whatever, then he simply makes his way peacefully back to his pallet. We put this product in about five minutes after we put in an antibiotic drop. I highly recommend this product. I’ve been using Zymox for years. My terrier mix has Ear Edge Dermatitis. It’s incurable and usually tears up the edges of the ear from constant cell overgrowth (auto immune) and dogs will be plagued with constant ear issues and itching. When I notice him itching, I put a few drops in ear and massage into ear canals, then rub into the edges of ears. Do this for a couple days, itching stops, ears are clean and have a healthy pink look. It’ll be several weeks before he starts itching again. I had used this before, without success for my cocker spaniel. So, this was my 2nd attempt. It worked great in 1 ear, but not the other. I used it for 14 days, and on day 15, the infection was back in the one ear, but gone in the other. Product works great on certain infections, but not for others unfortunately. I've always liked Zymox products, but this one really impressed me! GSD/BC mix has had continual ear issues since having a hematoma drained in her right ear. The ear lays over and is full of thicker tissue which seems to hold in a ton of moisture. This last bout of pain and scratching was making her (and me!) absolutely crazy and, after a week of use, the regular Zymox I always have on hand just wasn't cutting it. I did a bit of searching and found the Zymox plus advanced formula and figured I'd give that a try before resorting to a vet visit, antibiotics, steroid drops, etc. After the second day of use, she stopped shaking her head, scratching and whining. I have a Bichon whose tear ducts never developed. The eyes constantly tear, resulting in some very awful tear staining. I have used Angels Eyes for a little over two years now. My dog won't touch the powdered version even when mixed into canned dog food. He thinks the tablets are a treat and cannot wait until the next dose. I have tried both types, the one with the mild anti-biotic and the natural type. I think the anti-biotic type works a little bit better than the natural type, but I don't think it is made any longer. I even looked at Angels Eyes site and it is not listed. The natural chews work pretty well, although I give my dog one more tablet than the recommended dose. Drs. I've used Angel eyes twice over 7 years and it has always worked great for my little 5lb Pappillon. His eyes started weaping again so I first used the powder. The container was nearly empty and no change. Then I discovered it came in a chew, which is soooo much handier, so bought a container and continued giving it to him. He loves the taste, but that's not the problem. He finished the powder and is about halfway thru the chews and still no change. Odd. Previously by now the problem was solved and he was good for a couple years, but now no change. We will continue to finish the chews but I really don't expect anything to happen after this long a time. I'm so disappointed, Angel Eyes was my go to but isn't any more.TXMRS

Great product. I remembered that my previous eye doctor use to recommend this product years ago and thought I'd try it. I have really dry eyes to the point where they feel like pins are poking them. I used this product and it helped relieve the burning and the redness. My current doctor told me if my eyes are that dry, my eyes would sting with eye drops in the beginning and to keep applying until it went away. I had to apply the drop back to back about 4 times to finally get relief. This was the same when I used Refresh tears. I'm just glad this product is more natural and cheaper. [from Similasan] Originating in Switzerland in 1980, the Similasan brand became popular across Europe. Today, Similasan remedies are widely used and well-respected in North America. I had a deviated septum that was surgically corrected years ago but I would often get a "discharge" of white "puss" that would gather in my lower eye (the left more than right). I had a Doctor of Optometry (DO) recommend Systane long-lasting lubricating drops but I never got more than 1-2 hours relief. I have adjusted the brightness levels on all of my devices, I get plenty of sleep yet this discharge would not go away. I was almost ready to just cave and buy another $15 bottle of Systane till I read about Similasan Complete on that *OTHER* site. What the heck, I mused at least it's cheaper than Systane. Took me a minute to wrap my head around Similasan's applicator: the bottle (vial) is glass, which is great and you apply it by turning it upside down and squeezing the plastic applicator. The bottle even has legible instructions, although I 'cheated' with a magnifying glass. After 1 day of using Similasan Complete twice daily, 2 drops per eye, my nasal/sinus discharge has gone away 95%. I will clean out any residual "puss" in the A.M. with a wet Q-Tip. Hi dear friends!This amazing Product -Safe, healthy, effective Safe ingredients (no chemicals) and healthy (reduces contamination as in multiple use containers). Plus, this is one of the few products that lubricates my semi-dry eyes for longer than perhaps a half hour. I always trust Boiron to have healthy and effective products.I love these drops, they work much better and feel like they last longer than any other over the counter eye drops. One BIG draw back is that this ONLY comes in individual use packets…. and the top doesn't fit back on once opened.. So you either have to use it all, find a place to lean it to keep until the next use or waste some of it… for this price… wasting isn't an option for me. I like that it says it's good for the eyes. So far I see a slight difference in his eyes. My dog tends to have a lot of eye goo but probably because he has seasonal allergies.
