Bought this for our 7 month old Pyrador puppy, who has already outgrown one house. It was easy to put together, and the sturdist dog house we've ever seen. Plus being insulated is perfect for a cold Indiana winter. She's huge and still growing and loves it. The first night she slept in front of it despite dog treats inside. Second night was cooler, she decided to check it out so the head and front paws went thru the swinging door first, and after she had stood that way for about 5 minutes, walked all the way in, and has loved it ever since. From the size if it unless she grows as much as Clifford the big red dog, she'll get to enjoy for a lifetime.PJ

We got this house for a new Boxador puppy so that it can spend most of its time outside. We found it to be a good product. It was easy to put together and does stay much warmer than the outside air. In rainy weather, it stays dry. It is a very large house which would work for a lab or other large dog. No problems with the dog using the door. Only suggestion: add nuts and bolts for the 6 screws. Screwing metal into plastic is not a real good plan. I'm assuming the company will have replacement parts (door, window, etc…) available for my investment!Y Robinson

I receive the item and the box was in good condition. Upon opening the item there were 8 pieces. 4 walls, the top and 3 pieces that make up the floor. 3 of the 4 walls were split by screws that were inserted on the pre-fabricated panels. I took pieces and sent them to customer service. I believe this was done before being boxed up to ship. Although I was offered a discount for the damaged item I don't believe it would last as the floor did not attach but rested on the ledge of the sides. When my dog stepped into the dog house the first time 1 of the 3 pieces that make up the floor flipped up. It is nice looking but the wood is very cheap. I would not recommend buying.Unhappy Customer

I expected better of this outdoor doghouse, especially for the price. It is made of "fir wood" which isn't a hardwood at all. Pine would have been sturdier. Assembly was easy but the house itself flimsy, with several of the pre-fab section not even nailed or glued together, and some pieces with parts of the wood broken off. Even in the "giant" size it was barely large enough for a 90lb GSD. The feet were plastic and the floor slated wood were the elements can creep through. This house is advertised as ideal for outdoor use – but I wouldn't trust it during a New England winter. It was sent back immediately. I would NOT recommend this manufacturer for outdoor dog houses. For less money you could build a better one out of more durable wood.Razor

I just opened my Small size Precision Pet Extreme Log Cabin doghouse today to assemble. It looks like it will assemble pretty well, although one of the sides is 3/16" out of square. Because the panels are firmly glued and screwed together it will require some adjustment/trimming to assemble correctly instead of attempting to break the glue joints and true it up. Obviously a rush job by the factory in Wuhan. The roof shingles do appear to be very well sealed and bonded together, however there are a few spots on the edges of the composition shingles on the roof where bare wood can be seen at the edges, which would allow water to get into the roof frame, so those spots will have to be sealed. The three piece floor has 1/8" gaps between the slats, so if you want the animal occupying the box to be comfortable when it is cold and windy, you will have to do some modification to the floor, which I plan on doing. The statement that the box is waterproof and weather resistant is a stretch. The stain/preservative used on all of the wood surface is so thin that pouring any water at all on the wood surface disappears as the wood instantly absorbs it. I will not put the box in service until at least 2 coats of a high quality exterior grade paint/stain is applied. If you try and use this box without putting a proper preservative coat on it, you might get one year of use out of it before it rots or suffers UV damage and cracks and splits. This doghouse is being re-purposed by me to be a Barn Owl nest box; the dimensions are almost perfect and as soon as I saw it I realized that it could be used for quick installation during the brief annual window between December to January during which Barn Owls are NOT in their box. All I really have to do is put an insert into the door to reduce the opening size, add a perch/balcony outside the opening, fix the floor, and of course, properly seal the wood so that it will last more than one season. My primary reason for paying the extra money for the "EXTREME" model was the feature description that said: Its stainless steel hardware also adds to its sturdiness. THIS IS A LIE! THE HARDWARE SUPPLIED IS NOT STAINLESS STEEL, so this is my major gripe. My guess is that China figures that most Americans can't tell the difference between stainless and non-stainless steel. I'm a retired engineer, and you can almost always identify stainless/non-stainless steel by its color and appearance, although the surefire test is with a magnet. Regular steel will be strongly attracted by a magnet, if it is stainless steel, you might get a very slight attraction. This stuff is definitely normal steel with maybe a thin coat of zinc – not stainless steel. Weight Correction: Specifications say 25.6 pounds (Actual Weight = 31.7 pounds; 44% of that is the roof)KestrelCamMan

This is a good quality, sturdy plastic dog house. We have a medium sized German Shepherd and he easily fits in the large dog kennel and has room to curl up and sleep. It does a pretty good job keeping the rain out, only a little splattering of water gets in in the front but not too bad. Overall, quite happy with the purchase!angelnadie

i actually bought this for my 4 year old Sulcata. I added insulation and a heat lamp. It does have a floor, but for my use I also added shredded coconut and hay. It worked out perfectly when nights were too cold and also held up in the rainy summer. No leaks and stood up to strong winds. Also easily assembled by 1 person. My tortoise loves it and I imagine dogs would too.Ruby01

I was so excited about getting this doghouse until I started to put this thing together. One of the worst things I have ever had to put together in my life. The walls would not click, nothing would click and hold together. There were no screw holes to screw the screw into. It is extremely flimsy. I would rather spend $200 at Petco for an igloo doghouse which was very sturdy than this.schug

I just got this dog house and paid somebody to put it together. Only to find out that it is not extra large. I would consider it medium size. Won’t even fit my lab mix. The flooring and it is also raised and does not feel super sturdy. I would say this house in the size ‘extra large’ is for a 45 pounds and under dog. Will be returning. Very cute though.Aspensdogmom

We were looking for a dog house for our 75 lb German Shepherd & we wanted one he would continue to grow into. This fit the bill. Product arrived quickly and un damaged. Set up was painless and easy. Opening is big enough for him & plenty of room to plop down inside. In less than a year he did break one of the roof attachment rails. Working with New Age Pet wasn't a bad experience and the replacement parts arrived quickly enough. I wish the roof attachment rails were not plastic & were metal to withstand a bit more doggy & wind abuse. But other than that no complaints.CaptainCaveman78

I was looking for a dog house for my two dogs (one 50 lbs the other 60 lbs) to share. I am very happy with this dog house. It's not made out of flimsy wood like a lot of the other houses I looked at. The corrugated ecoflex material is very sturdy and this house is very simple to put together. Each piece is numbered and laying the pieces out in ascending order makes putting this house together a breeze. My dogs fit just fine inside the house and they'll be able to keep each other warm this winter. They are medium sized dogs so they're not very tall, if this house were to be purchased for a large breed the buyer MAY find this house to be too short. ex. A great dane would NOT be able to stand up and turn around in it. I've only had his house for a few weeks so I can not comment on the longevity of this product. The only downfall I've noticed so far is that it does get a little wet on the inside when it rains, I believe they make a plastic flap that can go over the door to help eliminate this problem, I just haven't looked into it yet. Crappiest tent I have ever owned… The flimsy design, cheap plastic poles (one of which already broke & this was literally the first time we set it up), and lack of instructions on set up/take down make this a COMPLETE waste of your $40. Really happy about my purchase, dog house looks really nice in the white & blueish & my dog loves it. Few pieces were slightly cracked, may have been from shipping, others from the screws being tightened, but not noticeable & overall the house feels pretty durable. RedBarn's Bully Slices and Choppers (dried bef lung) are now the top two treats my crazy red heeler prefers. She's even stopped barking so much at the UPS guy when he delivers packages now bc she knows he's the one who brings them. My dog loves Dentastix! They’re super easy to buy, because they’re available at most stores. She loves all of the flavors, too. I give her one weekly, because her breath can get a bit stale, and I do notice a difference for about a day and a half. After that, though, I almost feel like she needs another one. But they are pretty big treats, and they’re not the cheapest, so I keep it to once a week. I still do brush her teeth, and she chews on bones daily. I do buy these at least once a month!jess.a

My dog seems to love his new doghouse. It's very roomy and super easy to assemble. It's insulated too so hope it keeps him warm. We took the bottom half of the doggie door off to get use to going in and out of the doghouse. He did wonderful. I think when we put the bottom half back on it will be fine.LoriOe

This bone is so perfect for my dog! She's a 40lb hound/pit mix that certainly loves to chew! It tires her jaw out in the morning, so she doesn't chew carpet or furniture while we're at work! I monitored her, and saw the bone slowly go away without dangerous splintering, but instead, softens like a rawhide! I freeze mine to keep it fresh and make it last longer while chewing. It lasted about an hour for her. Also, I HIGHLY suggest the odor free! Do not hesitate! Pay the extra money, because I at first bought the regular one thinking it would be no big deal, but it is! It REEKS! Odor free is, well, odor free. I cannot stop recommending this product enough to every dog owner!!!Blake

I have two bulldogs who are aggressive chewers and LOVE bully sticks. I, however, don’t love the funky smell of average bully sticks, so I was excited to try these low odor ones. Have been buying from Best Bully Sticks for my dogs for about 10 years and always recommended them to my training clients. They were high quality and a great price when buying in bulk. It seem that in the last year or two the quality has really gone downhill and the prices have skyrocketed! I always bought the 6" regular sticks because they were plenty thick and long lasting, now they are thin, very irregular in size, and most of them are the scrawny end pieces. Tried the 6" thick ones and found pretty much the same thing. Thin, flat, lightweight, irregular end pieces! Looking at other suppliers now.Anne P.

I have three dogs who all love these Benebones (Lab, Golden Retriever, and Amstaf). They have Different flavors of these bones and my dogs love all of the flavors. The dentist has remarked about how clean their teeth are, which I think is in great part due to these Benebones. They have laundry basket full of toys and since these Benebones are heavier than most of their other toys, they usually settle toward the bottom of the basket. It is so funny to watch them digging through the other toys to get to their Benebones. Over several months, one knob on one of the Benebones was chewed down (little shreads at the time, not a harmful chunk), which meant I bought another round of Benebones for all of them. One of my dogs had to have surgery because she swallowed a chunk of a Kong toy, but even though she is a strong chewer (Bully breed) and can demolish most toys in 15 minutes or less, these Benebones last months before they need to be replaced. I watch their toys to make sure nothing starts coming apart that could necessitate another trip to doggie ER ($6,000 bill and 5 days in hospital). The price of the Benebones may seem a little high, but if you can avoid trip to doggie hospital for intestinal blockage and all the pain your dog would suffer, they are a good investment. It is cute to see each of three dogs grab one knob on a Benebone and pull in three different directions. If I could give 10 stars, I would. Great design and material for all dogs, but especially for Bully types.Bootsie

I gave our sweet pup the Benebone bone as soon as it arrived. It was the perfect size for her, she could carry it easily, and manipulate it as she chewed. I was very happy thinking I had found a great replacement for the deer antlers she loved to chew, but are very expensive to replace. It wasnt long, however, before her strong chewing had created hundreds of very sharp indentations all along the bone. She often will bring her chew toy to ya to help hold while she chews, but its impossible to hold it with all the sharp edges. She doesnt like it very much now, because Im sure it causes pain to her lips and tongue. Unfortunately, It will have to be discarded . Plastic just isnt right for our dog.gymmom56

Just arrived today and my 1 yr old lab/pitt mix showed immediate interest. I bought this so he could have an "indoor stick" because he keeps bringing in lots of sticks and leaving wood chips everywhere. My dog's more of a gnawer than a heavy chewer (except with wood. He chews wood like a professional wood chipping machine), but after less than 30 minutes he'd already worn down one end slightly (see picture). I think it's the material – it's really really hard and has no give, so it kinda just shaves pieces off instead. I was expecting more of a stretchy nylabone toy. I'm definitely going to have to keep an eye on him with this, but he definitely likes it!lprongs

Hey! My dog loves your brand and so do I because I trust that y’all are a safe company but I have a question regarding esophagus and or gullet treats. I read that if the company does not remove all parts of the thyroid tissue that it can contain the hormone thyroxine which can cause hypothyroidism in dogs if they eat the product consistently so I’m very curious to know if your company thoroughly inspects and removes all parts of the thyroid glands Thanks In advance!!Miranda

I am a repeat customer. For the most part, I am satisfied with the Red Barn Bully Slims. They are substantial twisted chews which my 9 lb. Silky Terrier enjoys. However, the last 2 bags contain spindly small chews which do not satisfy her need to chew. Why is there a difference between these chews and prior bags?Rebecca S.

I will say when I was looking for a duck house I spent countless hours looking for the perfect option. Florida weather and sun does wonders to things outside. I came across this house and it just stood out. When it arrived and I was dreading assembling because let’s be real directions suck! Their directions were actually awesome and the build was a breeze! However our poor ducks only got to enjoy this for a couple weeks before we had the worst Hurricane in history make landfall right through our backyard! Our ducks coop was destroyed when a tree landed on it. I was devastated their brand new house was all in the mangled mess. However upon inspections in the aftermath of the hurricane I would say this house was more solid than our own. It withstood a Cat 4 pushing Cat5 Hurricane with what appears as to be minimal damage. Heck the duck house roof held on better than our own house did! The duck house has a couple shingles that came off and the front porch ripped off but the outter shell held tight! 10/10 recommend this house for any outdoor need! I will however have to purchase a new one to give this home it’s full potential it originally had in our coop!Jessica

Doghouse is a nice size and is cute. The parts seemed bowed at first, but everything shored up with a little push just before attaching with screws. My 14 yr old granddaughter put it together with little instruction from me. The house is lightweight, and I am glad for that since we've not decided where exactly we want to put the house. Once we decide that, we will use the provided stakes to secure to the ground. The house does have vents in the front and the back for circulation.MRJ59

After Ian I bought this for my outside cat who is frightened of coming inside, even into the screened-in porch. She stayed in the make-shift shelter I fixed for her during the hurricane and that convinced me to buy a real outdoor pet house to give her shelter when it's raining.
