After being unable to go out due to dragging, bleeding back paws bought some boots then the swaying about crossed leg and bouncing like a kangaroo was so bad we decided to go for it! My dog decided to backup several times on her walk today. The walker wheels forced her backwards until she had almost fallen over and the rear frame hit the ground. Her back leg was cut in a couple of places because the rear frame pressed against her legs when she fell backwards and put all her weight on the frame. When I tried to remove the brackets on the back of the walker, the screws were so tight and the Phillips head screws were partly stripped from whoever installed them. Had to use an impact driver which was barely able to remove the screws so the brackets wouldn't cut her legs if she falls backwards again. Either that or one of the side frames would have had to be replaced. There is no reason such small screws should ever be so over tightened. Fortunately, I was able to remove the dangerous brackets. We need a foam rubber tube over the back of the frame to reduce leg injuries on the sharp frame edges or else a brace added to prevent the walker from tipping backwards. There is no way a dog can get up when the walker tips backwards. She might have broken a leg because of this design flaw. I ended up adjusting the wheels backwards more but who knows if that will prevent her from falling backwards. It might just make the situation worse if she tips over on the back frame again. This is a nice product with a few frustrating issues. The push pin they use is the first item. I love the fact they made parts adjustable. It is terrible though that the push pin design is so flimsy and it turns inside the tube 95% of the time you are trying to make an adjustment. Not easy on the dog you are trying to adjust to or your back. Having to pull the whole thing apart to adjust the pin back in place is irritating. Next, the straps in the back (to secure up the belly at the legs) didn't seem the same quality as the harness. The straps in the back are thinner and already have snags. This happened day 2. Overall I'm glad I bought it, but I struggle to believe it is worth the price.Georgia

This will work out well once my dog gets used to it. He is slowly learning but it is hard for him to get traction on my hard flooring so will take some patience. The bags themselves are fine and do their job however the zippers are horrible!! I'm on my third bag and I have had to sew zippers back to the bag, open the zipper pull to get the zipper back in alignment, and finally, they broke so badly they were beyond repair and the very expensive bags were rendered useless. I bought this bag for my Basset Hound who is recovering from a ruptured disc in his back and probably will not regain 100% function of his back legs. He was getting sores on his feet/belly from dragging himself around after his 8 week confinement period was up. This bag is great! The only negative, and the reason I cannot give it 5 stars, is because he needs the XL size, for his body, but the black strap that connects the neck wrap to the bag did not have velcro down it far enough to work for him. Our 15 year old golden retriever corgi is increasingly having issues with his hind legs and mobility can be very difficult. He needs most help when he is going in and out of a car via a ramp, in and out of the bath, and on bad mobility days we need something to help us get him outside to go to toilet – we basically use the handles to keep him upright in order to do his business. This definitely helps but with modifications for the latter task. Duke is long bodied and wide like a golden retriever but with very short legs and is about 50 pounds, so he needs support all along his body and we have to get the XL size to fully accommodate his length, it is a bit big at the front and does look like we have turned him in to a duffle bag, but that's part of the fun. The issue is when we need to take him to toilet using it, and I've had to cut a rectangle in the middle of it, between the straps, to allow him to be able to relieve. It washes great in the machine and even with the cut out the material has retained strength and hasn't frayed. We are lucky that our guy is no more than 50 pounds, I can't imagine managing this condition with a heavier dog. Even at that weight it is a bit of a struggle, but this certainly makes it seem less like he is being hurt as we do it. It is all very stable and everything is equally supported without any 'yelps', which wasn't the case with others. I would make one design suggestion that might help improve this product. On the double strap lift handle, I would add two sturdy additional horizontal lift handles 1/2 way down the sides of the primary straps, thereby enabling two people to lift the dog from both sides of the carrier. This really helps with a heavier dog! Overall, this is a well designed, and well built product!
Have a beagle with hind leg, disk issues. Tried a vet two-piece harness & that was impossible to get around his legs & then his tail, too. I read a review by someone saying this one is hard to put on, but trust me, compared to the trapeze contraption- it’s cake. And you’ll learn better ways of placing it under their belly & then slipping their front legs through. This one-piece, I find, is also easier to manipulate to allow added pressure or remove pressure. Most handy when he’s pooping & can’t handle the squatting. Anyway, my guy at the smaller size of medium & so like Houdini he manages to get his front paws out of the holes & either wears it like a tu-tu sometimes or w/ one paw out, trips across it. Larger, medium size dogs, more toward 50 lbs & longer probably get a great fit. Other critique is a nice V-cut in underside toward back would be great to still allow support – but prevent guy dogs from possibly peeing on it. In all: great aid & it helps my wife lift him into the truck when we use it as Orvis thought it’d be used.GerryB

It cost as much or more as adult person leg brace , and not at all as much material. Should be cheaper. It did not have on it ,which is left or right leg. I followed the measuring advice on-line (4" measure good for 4-6") and the "sock" is too small. It does not wrap around our dogs leg and gaps at his "heel." Amazing product! Since my dog paralyzed over 3months ago these were suggested by my therapist.
