My dog went a few days with excessive "goop" from his eyes. Since my dog hasn't had a history with this, and doesn't seem to have seasonal allergies, the vet suggested an antimicrobial for the eye irritation and I went with this ophthalmic gel based on the luck I've had with other Vetericyn products in the past. I started with a tiny drop on the corner of my dog's eye to be sure he wouldn't have any reaction to it. Later that day, I went ahead and applied a few drops in each of his eyes. I applied the gel two times a day for three days in a row and by the fourth day his eyes had stopped having discharge. It is almost like my dog knew the drops would make him feel better as he kept his head very still when I applied the gel to his eyes. The shape of the dispenser where you squeeze the product out of makes it very easy to apply the gel to their eyes. While it is a "gel," it comes out of the dispenser fairly quickly which I find allows for an accurate application. The gel-like substance is great to confirm that you got the gel where you want it to go. No its like everything else I have tried does not work I can't even get my cats to get it down. When I first got it I let my cat smell it and he literally gagged (should have stopped there)?then I put it in a syringe and gave it to him and he threw up right after I gave it to him. My 20 y.o. senior cat has had upper respiratory issues since he was 1 year old, but had gotten so chronic and so bad that he has literally had a stuffy nose and sneezing for an entire year straight. My animals tend to get what I call "goopy eyes" from time to time, mostly irritated from hay or just allergies or dust etc. I have used products similar to this in the past. I used this antimicrobial gel to help clear the irritants in their eyes. It worked and seemed to soothe their eyes right after I used it… However, unlike the current product I use, I found myself having to use it again a few hours later because the symptoms had come back. I am very pleased with this product. It has a great consistency-not too tacky but not too runny either. I use this product on our 2 dogs. One tends to get dirt/other irritants in her eyes and then her eyes get red and itchy. Before I scheduled a vet appointment I figured that I would give this product a try; I'm glad I did-within 2 days her eyes were no longer red or irritated. The price seems fair for this product, especially since I would have had a more expensive bill had we gone to our vet. In addition to 2 dogs, we have 6 chickens. I am going to look into this product further to see if I could use this on our chickens should they have any eye problems.Jackie
We received this free trial of Vetericyn Antimicrobial Eye Gel for Pets and decided to test it on our 3 year old English Shepherd, Cooper. Cooper's favorite past time is running through long grasses in our field, which seem to cause him to get eye goobers. Cooper was very unhappy to get the eye gel drops and we often used 2 or 3 times more product than needed since so much ended up on his face and muzzle. Despite the challenges we faced when applying the eye gel, we were happy with the results. After 2 days of 2 applications each, Cooper's eye goobers had disappeared. This lasted for about 4 days before we started noticing the goobers again. Overall the product worked and we were happy with it. However, it was difficult to apply and seems unecessary for simple eye goobers, especially with the 1 to 2 times a week application requirement. We will definitely be hanging on to the product for future eye injuries that Cooper may suffer.Cait

My cat Moon has seemed to always have watery eyes (from birth), sometimes worse and sometimes not as bad. I have taken him to vet multiple times for inconclusive answers and no eye infections. I stopped giving apoquel to my dog, not only because of the expense (costing more than $200 a month), but also because of all the reviews I have read about the danger to a dog's immune system with prolonged use. I have intentionally waited to write a review because I wanted to give enough time to see if the Fidoplex was going to make a difference. I bought this supplement a year ago because my cavalier king charles spaniel had recently experienced two bad episodes with ivdd and she’s only 4 years old. We took our Newfie/Lab to the vet to get vaccinated for a training class. Shortly after his shots, he developed a skin allergy with two hot spots on each hip. We took our cat to the vet after he woke me up in the early morning howling in pain trying to urinate in the litter box. We discovered he had a UTI and his bladder was very inflamed and full of struvite stones. After a round of antibiotics and other meds to relax his urethra and dissolve the stones, along with new prescription diet food, I started researching other ongoing preventative maintenance options. I ran across Tinkle Tonic in an online forum and was shocked at all of the glowing reviews of how it had been a miracle worker for their pet's issues. So far Tinkle Tonic has been working very well. I see large clumps of pee in the litter box now. We give him about .30 ml. in the morning with regular wet food and then his prescribed UTI Hill's Science Diet food at night. An overnight stay at the vet and a midnight run to the emergency vet for fear of stones or crystals for our cat who was diagnosed with FLUTD since he was a kitten, and being told each visit that it was just chronic inflammation (a frustrating but common side effect of FLUTD) and there wasnt much the vets could do other than pain meds and anti inflammatories. Needless to say we were ready to try some additional preventative care and heard good things about this product. Its been 2 months now of adding the tonic to our cat's prescription wet food and so far so good. He doesn't notice or seem to mind the taste, no adverse effects of adding the recommended dose to his diet and best of all hes been happy and healthy. Seems to really help. It doesn't take much, either. I only give my cats 3 drops per day, and that seems to be enough to keep things flowing the way they should. One of my males had a problem when I introduced a new cat into the household, he wasn't stopped up, but did start holding it in and that caused inflammation. After a vet visit and meds from the vet to help him through the initial problems, this has helped keep him from holding it in again. It won't work miracles, if a cat, especially a boy, doesn't urinate for a period of 24 – 48 hours, take him in to the vet to make sure there's no blockage since that can very quickly become life-threatening, but this is good for maintaining things in working order.ageek33k

My avid little mouser cat caught herself a little prize just a few days before a month-prior planned trip my husband and i were unavoidably about to go to. Apparently that mouse had bitten her back in the process, right on her tender little lip cleft! Before we knew it, that bite had gotten infected so bad she became lethargic, her face swollen an angry shade of red, she could not eat or even drink on her own and she could not even close her mouth and was drooling on herself. Using this for hot spots on my canine, this stuff does work but it sometimes can take up to 2 8oz. Bottles to heal the area's treated. Not sure if it's the strength of medicine or just those stubborn spots. I caught the spots early on and started treating them immediately and have been treating them for a month now and they are getting better but slowly, these things are stubborn. I can say that absolutely nothing else I tried worked. Believe it or not, I read online the other day that rubbing Pepto Bismol on hot spots actually works, you heard right, Pepto Bismol. Slippery elm helps heal the gut lining from gluten. Gluten is in wheat/barley/rye..oats/corn/rice. Rice is low in gluten. Wild rice has no gluten…is a grass. I purchased wrinkle wipes and wrinkle paste. I called to get some information on it's use, I used the phone number to speak person to person with a "team member" about my and my Vets concern's about it's use. As I was unable to find a list of ingredients on the site. I had to purchase the product to obtain a list of it's ingredients. So that my vet could determine if it was indeed safe for my dogs situation. He had some concerns.
To my dismay the phone only referred me to use the email address that was posted right next to the phone number???? If using the phone number is a waste of time, why is it provided. If email would have suited this situation I would have used it. Having a voice message to use the email and no other options is absolutely unacceptable customer service. My frenchie has bad allergies and his face is always wet causing his wrinkles to become prone to infection his face would start bleeding in spots from how severe it was getting. I would use other products and they wouldnt really help.. but this stuff really works! His face looks soooo much better and has improved dramatically. I've been using this for over 2 weeks on my senior pup who has a tumor under her eye that causes frequent "weeping." It has removed the stain almost completely.
