I have an adopted fur-baby that had a lot of control and behavior issues. Training, the usual way was just not working. I tried this and, within one day, the disruptive behavior (running and tearing up things in the house, jumping from one piece of furniture to another, non-stop barking) all stopped. He began with sitting, immediately after only two "vibrations" of the collar. By the end of the week, all I had to do was take out the remote control, say the words of sit, stay, no and wait, and he did so. Now, I don't have to use the remote at all but just say the words. I will tell you that, under no circumstances would I recommend the "shock" feature. Because it is easily changed on this model, by accident, I found out, the hard way just how much it hurts the animal. If you click MODE, by accident, from it being on vibrate, it switches over to Shock. BE VERY CAREFUL when you are about to use the Y button, for sound or vibration as, if it's on shock–and this was the very low setting–the dog whelps loudly and jumps, shakes, etc. I would not recommend it for any animal lover as, I don't even want to know what it feels like. Because the vibration is strong, even on low settings, and the other setting of "beep" is a high frequency sound, I found them the most effective. Thebeep sound is for Guiness (my new family member) to come–I use the vibration for correction, when needed. Guiness was the most difficult dog that I have worked with and I have behavioral training for dogs, which I have used for all of my pets. If this worked on him, it will work on most dogs that have behavioral issues. I would recommend it for the vibration and sound settings–and hope to get one that doesn't have the shock setting as, I feel that is just inhumane to use on a dog (my opinion after seeing how he reacted, on just a low setting). PLEASE USE CAREFULLY until you are used to the remote. That is my only advice when purchasing this for training.kelly4jesus
I am, so far, very happy with the design of the collar and remote handset. I especially like that you can do either vibrate OR static corrections with this set, AND can adjust the level of stimulation, immediately, for each. My only complaint is that the slide on clip is NOT useful. It does not grab either a collar, belt, or pocket, to any real degree. It slips off easily and drops to the ground, to be either lost or damaged. It would be better to design a stronger spring clip or clamp that is stronger. Because it continues to fall from where it is clipped, I am forced to hold it in my hand continually. Giving the dog a visual cue that I have control handy. It is more useful for the dog no not be able to connect such an association. Putting it in my pocket results in a possible inadvertent correction to the dog unnecessarily. Although I like many aspects of this product, and being a professional dog trainer, it would be nice to be able to recommend an affordable, good quality product. But because of the handset clip, I hesitate to do so. If this design was addressed, I would recommend it.dpcclm
My dog used to jump on anyone that came over and she was hard headed about listening. Been using for about a month now and have only shocked her once (on level 2) and now she listen with or with out wearing collar. We still put it on her every day and especially if company is coming over, but she knows when she hears the beep she's gone to far in pushing her luck. Most of time beep gets back in line and if not vibrate does. Can't beleave we waited so long to get one. Now friends and family can come over again and we don't worry about her jumping up on our guest particularly little kids. We put it on her in the morning and take it off before bed time and turn collar off at night and battery will last almost 2 weeks on collar before charging (wonted to see how long battery would last between charges) , Generally now we charge it once a week over night and haven't had it die yet while she's been wearing it. Can't say how water proof it is at this point haven't allowed her in the water with it yet. Only complaint is as others have stated it's easy to change channels on transmitter if your not paying attention. But have gotten used to looking at transmitter before pushing button. Besides If your going from Beep to vibrate your gonna wanna see what you have it set to before you use transmitter again, so I don't find it that big of a deal.jnmpatterson4

It is not user friendly. The icons for the dog and your location are too small and the contrast on the screen makes it hard to see the little icons in sunny conditions. The collar that came in the box is not bright green as it shows on the box. It is a medium green, harder to see on the dog than the bright green I thought I was getting. I was so impressed with how long and how well this works. It controls my Gsd and CO dogs. The battery life is amazing on the collars! Mine are used daily and they are still charged a month later. The shock has a good range with a huge difference. From light shock to a heavy shock. The same for Vibration.The tone is amazing , each level is a different sound. My dogs have their own tone for individual correction. The collars are colored and I marked on the unit adogs color, b dogs color and same for c dog.. I couldnt be happier with a more expensive unit than this one. I tried the aeterek Garmin 3 dog shock collar(same priced name brand) and was disappointed as the settings were all the same as were the tone and vibrate. Also the maximum level of shock was not strong enough for my dogs.the price on this 3 dog system is very competitive. This is the second training collar I purchased since August. I bought an Oxford and that didn't last. I liked some of the Oxford features over this EasyPet Collar. This collar system is better made and I expect will last longer. While I like the multiple levels of each of the sound, vibration, and shock getting to the setting in a hurry doesn't happen. I have two pit bull mixes. The sound, any level, works for one of the dogs, but not the other. I have moved to the vibration correction for him. This works well as does the shock. He returns to me with both of these. I do suggest putting a sensor on the remote as when the dog is returning after being corrected and cannot see the trainer (as he was deep in the woods) perhaps a sound on the remote would aid the dog's quicker return. I'm suggesting this as he came out of the woods at a different point than where I was. My second suggestion is making the recharging plug on the collar easier to insert. The plug seems flimsy and is hard to secure on it. Since it is so important for the plug to be in to maintain the waterproof feature it should be easier to put in. Hatch where 9V battery goes in sticks, looks like it was not manufactured with good tolerances from the factory. There is a visible burr on the edge where it goes in. Clasp is too small and the tongue of it is not secure to the rest of assembly, so it wiggles and moves when you try to put in in a hole. Otherwise a good product electronically. I originally ordered this training collar about a month ago. The first one did not work. I just received the replacement today. I does not work either. The charge indicator light on the collar is green and the remote light works. It does not shock though. it would not activate the tester light, and I even tried it on my leg. NOTHING! Bought this a year & half ago. Never worked as advertised. Flaky – sometimes worked, sometimes not. Bought it mostly for vibrate mode, which is useful for training more than tones. But, then I discovered the unit is NOT water-proof, or even water resistant – and my dogs love to romp in creeks. The collar unit acquired an accumulation of moisture…and quit working completely. Took it apart, dried out for several days, and it started to work again… only sometimes – just like before. Then it died completely. Waste of time & $$. Poor quality and quality control. Internal circuit board appears to be hand soldered (& poor job), and cheap offshore battery. Does not hold a charge as long as other brands (runs down in less than a day, w/ no use), & remote uses 9v battery instead of rechargeable. Poor design. Will not buy any DT Systems product again. As far as the tone and vibration the product works well. But the shocking feature seems to run the battery down very quick. I can usually get about 4 corrective shocks out of the receiver before the range decreases dramatically and then 1-2 closer shocks before they loose all effectiveness but the tone and vibration will still work. The collar works very well. I do not know if it is the collar or my dog, but the shock button is rarely used because the vibration seems to work with her. She is a 8 month old golden retriever/blue heeler mix but she had the behavior of the blue heeler and very active. She is behaving like a totally different dog. Thank you so much.Nannie P

Bought this 825x collar about a month ago. Not happy with the distance i get. Not happy the cover on the charging port on the controler broke off. I put this thing in my hand and get nothing on #2 but on #3 it will let you know u dont want # 4. Am i happy with it ? NOT REALLY. WILL i live with it ? Yes till it shuts down. I bought this a month ago and so far it's amazing. I started off with a cheaper one I bought online and my stubborn dog would barely flinch, even on the highest setting. With this set at 2 I get a reaction from her. Most of the time the tone or vibrate is enough to get her attention and she'll stop whatever it is I don't want her doing. Sportdog training collars have changed our lives. We have used them on our recently deceased Great Dane, our 4 year-old Walker Hound, 4 month old Bloodhound & 5 month old Great Dane puppy. We have used an older 100 yard collar a 425X & are waiting for the 825X to come in the mail. Not only do the sportdog collars work for "recall" they work for other basic commands like "NO", "drop-it" "settle". We always train our dogs on voice and hand commands as much as possible before using the collars. It certainly helps when our puppies are trying to chase or attack some yard rabbits, chickens ducks or goats. I do find if you are using the collar the battery life is only about a 2-4 hrs of working time. I wish they could have an external battery pack of some degree or another to help on exciting days. Price for product is on point. The only thing I wish sportdog would do, is come out with a cat sized collar. My Bengal is a nutbar, like they all are, and has a taste for killing. It sure would be nice to have one for him when he is slaying yard rabbits or trying to take down ducks in the pond to give him a little zap to help save lives. Sportdog says because they are geared towards hunting they do not see in the future them creating one for cats, but if they do I will buy 2.FarmGirl2013

disappointed. Its a poor design. The rounded part (NOT the part against the dogs neck) is what really vibrates. My dog (35lb spaniel) doesn't seem to feel it!
