I have an 11 pound puppy that was just spayed. So I purchased this to keep her from licking her incision site as she was able to get out of her ecollar and chew it up. What I liked about this pro collar is that her view wasn't obstructed and that she wasn't running in to my walls, furniture etc. she also seemed to be more comfortable in it. What is unfortunate is that she was still able to reach her incision site to lick if she really tried. I can really see this product working on a larger dog that has longer distance between their mouth and site of incision as not only would I need a larger pro collar and the dog would have to really bend farther to reach the incision. This is why I gave it three stars and not a 1 star. I don't see it working in situations where incisions are on limbs and such. So for instance, if my long 80 pound lab needed to have surgery on his belly or torso area I would purchase this again because he will have a longer distance to reach than my tiny flexible puppy. I have this collar. I used it last year when one of my girls had a lump removed from her chest. It was so much more comfortable for her to sleep in that a cone. She was able to see, eat, drink and do pretty much anything while wearing it. I just pulled it out again because my other girl had a cancer lump removed from her armpit area. I have Dachshunds so no cone stops them from licking if they have an injury lower than their midsection. But this worked wonders for both when the injury was on the chest and waist area. Some tips.. 1. It does require a collar to be attached to the inside loops to keep it securely on your dog. You can't just Velcro it on their neck or your dog will probably find a way to take it off pretty quickly. Also, make sure the ends of the tube are touching when you Velcro it or your dog can get around it to chew. 2. Make sure it id inflated enough. If it is not, your dog will get it off. 3. If your dog has an injury that is lower than waist area, it may not be enough to keep them from reaching that area.lilys mama
I've now purchased this twice for my cat when she had minor surgery and it has been a complete godsend. My cat was so stressed out with the cone because it significantly impaired visibility and didn't allow use of her whiskers. She was constantly stressed and trying to hide in the darkest, tiniest, craziest spaces, and would get stuck with the cone and unable to get out or move. Poor kitty. 🙁 She has a history of being bullied by other animals she lived with before we rescued her, and while she is usually very comfortable in our home, she was so scared and stressed from being unable to assess her surroundings and move around freely. Before we knew about the collar we tried a soft cone (didn't help) and two kinds of bandages (didn't stop her from picking at the wound anyway). My dog had surgery on his paw and has to wear a cone for 7 days. The one from the vet had plastic loops to connect to the collar. He has had a very difficult time getting comfortable and seeing around since the plastic wasn't really clear. I saw this online and bought it to see if it would help. I don't think any cone would be ideal but I have to say that this works out a lot better than the other cone. It took him a moment to get used to the fabric parts and ran into some items during that time. I don't love that it doesn't keep a round shape and just falls on his head while lying down, however, it's flexible fit allows for more movement when he lays next to an object, or me. I think it fits comfortably around the neck. He seems much more comfortable and able to fall asleep without without struggling to get adjusted. I am overall happy that I bought it. The company’s site recommends to size up if your pet is between sizes which he is between L/XL… this may not be the best option for all. In the size Large my dog had the right fit to see and function normally BUT he could still lick his leg, which was the whole reason for the cone. With the size XL it just barely velcros around his neck and he can’t do much because the top of the cone flops into his eyes constantly. This is still the best option over a traditional cone which is why this got a 3 and not a 1/5. The other issue I have with it is that it should have snaps instead of Velcro. Our dog isn’t particularly sensitive to sounds but the Velcro is right next to his ears and he’s terrified of it. I’d love a better version of this maybe a large that extends a little past 18 inches or maybe even a size L/XL. Honestly I would’ve returned the product if he didn’t get hair all over the velcro on both of them. Maybe if your pet is between sizes shop around for something else.DogParent25
I bought this when my sons husky got spayed at age 2. She didn’t like the plastic one we got from the vet and was bumping into everyone and it’s so jolting because they are hard plastic. This Zen one worked perfectly for her! She was much more comfortable and when she bumped into things it has some give. She could see out the clear windows which was nice too. She has a long nose and still was not able to reach her incision. My other sons dog (cattle dog mix) had an issue with his skin around the same time and got a bad hot spot so he needed to wear a cone for awhile. While he didn’t like any cones he did better with the plastic one from The vet because he didn’t like that this flopped on his face when he laid down. Recently my sons other husky needed one for an injury to her leg that required staples. She tolerated this cone very well and did not like the plastic one. So overall I say it’s worth a shot. I personally love this one, it’s easy to wash, easy to put on and take off you just weave their own collar through the straps and close it up with the Velcro. Just an FYI the round donut looking collar doesn’t work. We tried that as well and the husky was able to reach her incision so if you’re debating on that type or this one, definitely go with this one.Trish505

Excellent cone. She is much happier with it on than when wearing the plastic cone from the vet. We are happier too, as it is more flexible, so she doesn't knock things over so much, and she can still cuddle up with us on the sofa. I found this cone so much better than the one from the vet. With the sewn on edging, it didn't dig into my cats neck; and it wasn't as loud bumping on things. Because I took the cone off for feeding and breaks; and the clips are only for one use, I got some tiny zip-ties and was able to take it off/ on several times a day… easily! My cockapoo recently needed surgery to repair a ruptured ACL in his left knee. The collar that the surgeon sent him home with wasn't large enough, and he was able to get at the site of the incision, so I needed to get a larger collar. I hesitated with the purchase of this product because of the negative reviews regarding the fact that people were saying that the clips broke easily. I purchased it anyway because I figured I could always use plastic ties to hold it together if need be. Well, it turns out that the clips work just fine. I regularly take it on and off him during the day so he can eat, drink, and take care of his "business". The clips snap on and off repeatedly with no issues whatsoever. I have a 9month old labrador and she had to get surgery for cutting her leg. I got a cone from the vet that she took a few days to destroy. I then bought this one, and it literally was ruined within an hour. She managed to chew off the clips, the surrounding black trim, and severely damaged the plastic of the cone. I like the pillow overall, but had a hard time blowing it up since I had Covid in December and my lungs are not what they used to be. It did deter my dog from licking, but as she got stronger from her spay surgery she removed it when she was tired of wearing it. It does what it was intended to do and is a better alternative to the hard, old-fashioned E-collar.Devon
I LOVE this little collar, unlike the cone, it isn't covering her face and she can eat and drink without having to remove it, like the cone. This inflatable collar worked perfectly for my dogs needs! He is a senior dog with an eye issue. Our veterinarian sent him home with “the cone” to wear for one week. After I asked about this type of collar. My Vet said it would be fine. So, I purchased this one. It’s very light weight and since it goes around the neck it’s easier for my pup to get around. It is somewhat adjustable and closes with A Velcro strap. The most important thing is my dog cannot scratch at his injured eye so he will be protected. He also has better visibility wearing this than the cone. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone that has an injured fur baby. But check with your vet just to be on the safe side.

This cone is a softer plastic than some so it gives more easily and doesn't break like some of the harder plastic ones do. Also doesn't hurt as much when he runs into me as we go down the stairs! The length seems to be just enough to keep him from getting to the back areas which was an area he had made worse after surgery. For reference, Beau is almost 60 lbs and likely a lab/golden mix.Deen M.
Product has a large sticker that is near impossible to remove (strong adhesive and sewn in) and on the heavy side/seam of the cone. Dog drool and dog bowl water cause its thin plastic layer to erode and hold stench in its paper under layer. Short term use only. Fix the label issue, it would be perfect.Devin B.
