I bought all three colors in this collar since I have 3 dogs. I absolutely love this collar! I looked in all kinds of pet stores looking for one like this. All they had that was similar was the kind with the plastic clip to attach it to its self. Well my dogs are all 100+ lbs as I own Dobermans and they are big enough and strong enough to break the clip, so those kinds would not hold up to my guys. These Guardian Gear Martingale collars work very well! There's nothing to break off and they can't choke themselves at all with this collar. I've been volunteering walking dogs with Labrador and Friends Rescue and it's required that we have two types of leashes so one form for me is the pinch collar. While some people think these are awful, they actually, if put on correctly, work wonders. These collars are made to go higher up on the neck and not supposed to be digging into the dog's neck (have to be able to stick 2 fingers through the prongs). But these collars definitely help especially if you have a dog that tends to be a little wild and you're trying to train them. It’s very study, thicker and the Velcro is amazing for adjusting. I don’t have I worry about getting a bigger size collar or the cobra buckle snapping. The cobra buckle is a very unique design on its own. It’s very rugged and I can tell my pup won’t be able to get free of this collar due to a malfunction. My 4m old GSD pup isn’t quite big enough yet to wear the collar (as his neck isn’t big enough). But I already have stuck on a new patch for his collar “Don’t Tread On Me”. I do not use this as each dogs main leash, but I keep them around because one really does fit all my larger dogs. I have a 15lb 15 year old Jack Russell Terrier. This is the only style and brand collar I have used for 13 years! I started with the harness from artful canine but it would come off as my dog's head is smaller than his body. This martingale is perfect! First, the collar that I received is different than what is pictured. Had it not been for the second problem, I would have kept it because it was still an attractive collar. The second problem is that the collar is doubled behind the tag holder and it is NOT adjustable so it is unclear to me what purpose is serves. It doesn't sit flat so it creates a loop which I felt is potentially a safety hazard because my dog could get it caught on something when he is out running around. It should also be noted that this collar does not have a buckle and has to be slipped over the head. The previous collar that I bought from this company had the buckle. It was my fault for not noticing that, but I find having the buckle is much nicer than slipping it over my dog's head. This collar is no where near as wide as the photo makes it appear. My dog will have this thing broke in less then a month. Absolutely worthless collar for a large dog. They claim it is for a large dog, but, I guess they never meet my large doge. His current collar is twice as wide and at least twice as thick, is less then 9 months old and he is tearing it.
