Dog Bowl That Opens With Collar For Sale (2024 Update)

I am using this for a 75 lb doberman. It is a good height for her and it's nice to have her food and water together. She can be messy at times and this is easy to wipe clean. The bowls go in and out easily, but what I have done is place her old food bowl inside the stainless steel one. It is smaller in diameter and fits right inside the one that came with the feeder. It has the added advantage of catching additional spills. My only complaint would be that the feeder is light weight and can be easily scooted around on a tile floor. Her's is right up next to the side of the fridge which prevents it from moving around. This was a good value for the price.wtr8one

This is exactly the right height for my standard poodle. I did not realize that the bowls would fit into cut out holes with no bottom, so you have to have exactly the right sized bowl. Also, double check the measurements – this thing is HUGE. Happy that my 11 year old poodle does not have to bend over to eat any more.Donna M.

We love the Neater Feeder! My dog, Jax, is around 50 pounds and is classified as a cocker spaniel, so he is not extremely tall. The large version of the Express is perfect for him as far as height. I researched a similar solution for this purpose from different companies. I am glad I chose the Neater Feeder, as the system is of very good quality and is a fair price. I read in some of the reviews that the bowls were not very nice, but I am not sure what was meant, as they are also of good quality. I like the look of this product and I feel it completely gives me everything I was looking for in the way of a pet feeder. This is our second one now that we have 3 cats. We have one for the dry food and one for the water. They are definitely neat and oraganized, unlike my teenage boys who manage to get the dry food all over the top when they are refilling the bowls. Kinda defeats the purpose, right? You have to remember to clean the bottom part regularly for the water because stuff sits for days and gets all yucky. The only thing the cats don’t seem to like is if you let the stainless steel bowls sit (and don’t wash the bowls out every other day), it develops a film and apparently changes the taste of the water. I am very pleased with the fact that the Neater Feeder has been helpful in keeping water off my floor. It is a nice looking feeding station and easy to clean. I think the concept for this product was great… a product much needed. Upon receiving my unit I was surprised to not see the unit and bowls wrapped for protection and what I did find was a unit that was a bit scuffed u and two damaged bowls. Honestly, I felt the bowls were thin and cheaply made. The positive note is that once I contacted customer service, they responded promptly and then sent out two new bowls very quickly. They were both pleasant and efficient to deal with… not easy to find that kind of customer service these days, so I much appreciated this about this family owned business. Unfortunately I still had issues with the unit and mostly with the bowls. When the new bowls came, I immediately washed them and proceeded to dry them… I was surprised to see black on the cloth I was using to dry them. I washed them again, filled them up and put them down for the pets (I use both for water only). Shortly afterwards as I passed the bowls the water didn't look right to me… like there were little specks in the water. I immediately took them up and emptied them only to find there was some type of residue if I rubbed with my finger. I proceeded to use my own bowls, not a perfect fit but they work. As for the unit itself, I feel it too could be better made. The two separate pieces don't exactly sit well into each other and the unit then tends to wobble a wee bit, but once I put the filled water bowls in it and placed on a small area rug, it eliminates that wobble. All in all I think the concept behind this product is great… something truly needed. I just wish the unit was a bit more refined and that the bowls were of better quality. I would prefer to pay less for the unit and purchase better bowls on my own. As I mentioned, I am using my own bowls since I'm not sure these bowls may turn out to be a health concern.Linda P.

I bought 2, thinking they would be perfect for my feral cats as their wet food gets covered in flies in the summer – sadly the lids keep closing even when the poor cats are standing right in front eating! I've tried removing the batteries in the hope that this might reset them, but it has made no difference – after a short period of time the lids close automatically, even when the cats are standing in front eating.sgib5284

(Rather binary answer choices are not helpful in providing a proper review.) My cat took to it easily. An improvement would be space for an ice pack underneath the dish. I can't tell you how excited I was to receive this product for my dog….what a let down. Practically every piece has a scrap nick or dent it in…and speaking of pieces where do they go and how do they fit together and with what hard wear even if I did know. What the heck?? No hard wear fine its annoying but no directions either?? Come on. For the price this unit cost I am very disappointed!! Okay never mind I found the directions hidden under the dog bowl inside the top. Still disappointed in all the scratches and dings. sure hope this unit holds up. Looks great in our pup's eating area. It's sturdy, well-built and a good height for our tall / lanky 40lb dog. Gotta be careful with opening the top-sliding food storage compartment – if you have water in the bowl, it spills out a bit. (Easily avoided if you remove the water bowl before opening, or if you slide open very gently.) Otherwise, it's great. Looks really nice, isn't flimsy, and the storage keeps his food neatly tucked away. It's pricey but worth it considering it'll last forever and will hopefully maintain it's nice appearance.Desmo

I set it up, and it broke within two weeks. One of the metal pegs ripped right out of the wood and dog food spilled out everywhere. It’s so awkward and heavy, I don’t even know how to return it for a refund.Angela

Very convenient storage with style. I love the way it stores my dog food bags, and treat all in one location. The pull out bowls are nice medium size, and in stainless, easy to clean. The height is right for small to medium dogs. Wipes clean with damp cloth. Has just enough style to fit in most kitchens and mudrooms. Love this, wish I had seen it long time ago. I got the large one for my 2 Blue heelers to use. My one dog use to push the feed or water bowl all over til it flipped. He did it every single day and the water bowl to. So I had bought a gallon water distributor,, but then the cat decided it was fun to push THAT over and water all over floor. I was ready to kill me some furbabies. Then I bought this. WOW, NO REGRETS. Both dogs & cat all drink out of this and/or eat and NOBODY has succeeded at flipping it pushing it over. We have a 100lb German Shepherd who is overly messy when drinking water. It used to be a daily battle getting the floor dried up before he would step all over the water he spilled and walk on the hardwood floors and carpet. One day I ran across the Neater Feeder, thought it seemed like a great concept, but it was just way too pricey! I let it go and came back to it about a month later, when I had my 20% off coupon from BB&B. WOW, best purchase EVER! I would have paid full price now that I know it actually works! And not that it really matters since it saved my floors, but the design and color are both great as well! Easy to clean, no more messy floors, THANK YOU Neater Feeder! We have two large dogs that are extremely messy eaters. We have used raised bowls in the past to help them with eating, but we ended up with water up the walls and all across the floors. I'm amazed at the difference this makes. No more mess. I was put off by the price initially but after several months of use it is definitely worth it! If you feed your pets wet food and they are slow-eaters (eat a little now and a little later), this is a must-have item. The lid opens automatically when my cat approaches and closes again when he leaves. So it really does prevent wet food from drying out. It is amazing. I used to throw away left-over canned food. I like this one because it isn't overly big but the opening is large enough that bigger food pellets fall out on their own. Our last dog bowl we had to continually shake it to get the food down into the bowl.MissBigB

Personally, I like it very much, it is definitely a little eye-catcher. In some places there are small inaccuracies which do not bother me, because if you don't look very closely, they won't be noticed at all. It was easy to assemble and it is stable. I personally can recommend the article.Linda

We had zero issues putting this together, so maybe the instructions have been fixed since others had problems? Every piece is labeled, so following the directions is a breeze. The hardware and each piece seemed like pretty decent quality. I wish the pegs to hang leashes on could be on either side, but you could probably drill your own holes to move them. The food cubby has a hole for the handle, so I worry we will smell dog food, which I hate. So we are looking for a container of some kind to fit in the space to put the food in. Pull-out drawer for bowls isn’t on a wheeled track, but it comes out and in pretty smoothly so far. I love being able to hide the bowls to keep little hands out! Must-have with babies/toddlers in the home! Wish we would have found this sooner. I will update the review after we’ve used it a while if any quality issues arise.Nick

I'm really happy with this dog dish. I needed something slim but sturdy and this works so well. My dog is naturally skittish anyway, so he's a bit freaked out over this new approach to eating, but with some coaxing I have no doubt he'll get there. I was pretty sure I had gone back to my cart and selected the medium and was sent the small, but we have a schnauzer, so it'll still work just fine and has so far. Make sure you have the right size selected. The bowls are nice and don't feel cheap. I like that they have kind of a texture to them. My dog is older and has lost some teeth, so having the texture actually helps him pick the food out of the bowl easier. He is fed raw dog food, so it's wet when he eats it. Other bowls we tried were glossy and he pushed a lot of the food out while eating. We saw similar dishes at PetCo for the same price. I would definitely recommend this dog dish.Amy

I would perhaps like to buy a set, a large set, in the dark gray as shown- in the extended details section it says there are 4 color options, but not what they are nor how to select/view them – And only because of the 4th picture, I'm able to determine there are 3 sizes available- that picture shows they come in small, medium, large with the equivalent amount of cups each size holds… swell, really, ****BUT**** how the heck are you supposed to know/select the size you want?!?! And same question goes for selecting a color- no means of deciphering between them except the price? I guess? I needed a second food stand so our Granddog, a terrier mutt, would not abscond with our Labrador retriever’s food bowls containing any uneaten food and scatter it in the living room. I bought this because it had some height, a 4 cup Pyrex bowls would fit in it, and the price was good. Unfortunately for us, the stand does not have a circular bowl holder, but is square. So, it does not hold the bowl completely still. Our labrador hasn’t read the lab manual – she doesn’t know she’s supposed to be confident. She’s happy but skittish and insecure. So, the metallic bowl moved and made a noise when she was eating her food. It scared her, and she jumped back. Now, she will not approach the bowl. Not even when using the Pyrex bowls. I suppose she needs some anti-anxiety treatments… At least our Granddog hasn’t dumped the bowl.BLUF

10/10 recommend!! My dog Forrest is a Great Pyrenees/Australian shepherd mix. He’s only 9 months old and he’s already 65+lbs. Since I first got him, we’ve had trouble with fast eating. I started my buying a simple slow feeder from Walmart, which worked for a bit. But as he grew, Forrest started regurgitating food after almost ever meal. After some research, I discovered this was from eating too fast and eating with his bowl on the floor. The article I was reading had a link for the Neater Slow feeder with the option height raiser. I clicked it and was immediately intrigued. After reviewing their website and the reviews of customers, I was in without a doubt!! I’m happy to report that since receiving the Neater Slow feeder, Forrest has had no problems with regurgitation, hiccups, or belching. This thing is a miracle feeder and we love love love it!! It is made out of high quality hard safe plastic and it had rubber stoppers on the bottom to keep it from sliding around. Very easy to use. We have an over weight cat stops him from grazing throughout the day. The other cats can carry on eating as normal. We have bought a second unit we now have one for dry food and one for wet food. The cover stops wet food drying out. Will stop flies in the summer touching the food. We take our dogs out with us quite a bit and it can be a hassle carrying water for all of us. I love the convenience of this water bottle, for both humans and pets, with detachable water bowl for my fur babies. Water bottle keeps the water nice and cold and seems of excellent quality. I thought the handle was too big at first, but now I find it helpful for handling the bottle and pouring. I expect this to last for a very long time. The Asobu dog water bottle and bowl is just awesome! If you have a pet that frequently needs water, then this is the bottle and bowl for you. Traveling with a pet, and utilizing this bottle and bowl made the trip that much smoother. We were able to give my cat water at every rest stop, which kept her calm, peaceful, and hydrated. The stainless steel also keeps cool water cool for an extended period of time, and the bottle and bowl are deep and wide enough that they are easy to clean. The Bella Roma travel bowl is perfect for holding food for my dog. The bowl is well made and folds flat for easy storage. The type of lid they designed is very creative. Should there be any food left it's easy to store.Anonymous

It's been since November 11, 2021 since I first started using these feeders for my 3 cats. It took approximately 5-6 weeks to finally be able to close the lids all the way after the training process. They have adapted really well and they each know where their bowls are located. I also did purchase the different colors for all 3 bowls: Bray-Blue, Lexi-Green, Pookie-Pink. I'm able to use the split bowls only for Lexi & Pookie (morning feeding: wet/dry). Bray refuses to eat wet food in that feeder, no matter what I do, so he gets his wet food on the side in a ceramic bowl. Once the other 2 have finished their wet food side of the bowl I switch the bowls out to the single bowl for the duration of the rest of the day with their dry food in there. Whatever is leftover in the morning I scoop into the larger single bowls and that works out just fine (add more in the evening feeding). It's been really good because of the different diets I have to give the kitties and this fixed the problem of someone getting too much food or not enough. I have definitely seen an improvement in them because of it. My original batteries are holding up since November so far and this is now February 1st, so that's good. I only have one cat with a microchip so her bowl is working now with that. At first I had the collar on her just like the other 2 cats because she was originally afraid of the bowl. I had to wait until she was totally comfortable so I could push her head in there far enough to read the microchip to set it up. It does take her to dip her head under the arches a little further to read the microchip, but because her fear is no longer there, it is working. I may even consider getting the other 2 cats micro chipped so they don't have to wear the collars. All in all, I am very happy with these feeder bowls. They are easy to clean too, I actually use can air every day to blow off the hair and food particles that catch in some of the crevasses and then once a week I wipe them down with a soapy damp sponge and dry them with a clean soft cloth. I have also propped 2 of the bowls up for my bigger cats to make it more comfortable for them to eat.ApacheStar

I got two of these in Dec 2022. Within a couple days I saw how this company is definitely money hungry and super inconvenient. I bought 2 Feeders with the hopes of making my life easier as I have cats on multiple medicated diets. As stated in other videos and reviews there is a backing that can be purchased to prevent food stealing…but for a price. Instead I created a box around them with items I already had. Then my cats were still able to steal food straight from the front even when on a mode with the fastest close lid setting. There are also "secret" custom modes available to use which will hopefully help with food stealing. However you are not provided any of these custom modes unless you call or email and they will get back to you in 24-48 hours with what the mode they believe will be most helpful (not just a list of possible modes available). All of which still were not helpful and a headache to contact back and forth with. After so many modes trying the feeder stopped working. If you don't want to do all this don't worry PAY MORE and get the connect but wait.. it won't work unless you buy the additional hub to go with it! Which then you won't be able to do the functions yourself but still have to contact them for them to remote into your hub to do it themselves which will take a couple of hours to fully sync.

So, in all it did not help my life. I'd rather throw my cat in a restroom every time then keep dealing with this feeder.Jazmin Ornelas

These were a life saver! We got a new kitten and were struggling to keep our other cat and the kitten away from each other's food. We bought each of them one of these feeders and could not be happier! They are amazing! We have a Ragdoll and a Burmese. Any complaints about them not working is because the microchip reader has scanned the chip the first time in an incorrect position. Can be tricky to get right but once you do they are amazing! The only complaint I do have would be the overall size. My female Ragdoll does have to get quote low to get under the sensor bar. If these were made larger that would be great! If she were any bigger it would be too uncomfortable for her. She learnt to use this at 14 years old. The kitten was 4months old. Read the instructions correctly and you shouldn't have problems.Krystel

My Kelpie/Heeler puppy inhales his food, so I thought a slow feeder may help. After looking around, I thought the design of the Outward Hound Fun Feed Dog Bowl might be just the ticket. It arrived today. I put a small amount of kibble into it and after a good ten minutes of trying to get at the food, my puppy decided the only way to get at it was to turn the bowl upside down! It worked, but the few biscuits I put in there were inhaled, so no slow feeding here! The only way a dog is going to get at the food is by using its tongue. The ridges are too close together to get a mouth in. If using kibble, the tongue just chases it around the bowl and never gets a purchase on it. I can imagine that a dog may manage to get at wet food, but there will be a large percentage of wastage as even wet food will still be playing chasey around the bowl when it gets low. I've wasted $31 on this bowl, so I won't be wasting more money on wet food that will end up in the sink. Give this one a wide berth.Michelle

Let me preface this review by saying that I am not familiar with the Outward Hound brand, and have never used one of their products. That being said, I was quite interested in trying out this slow feeding dog bowl because my dog needs to slow down her eating habits quite a bit. For ease of use, I will break this review down into categories. Design – The design of this dog bowl is just fantastic! Sleek lines and a glossy, teal finish that really give it a fun vibe that I happen to enjoy in the products I use. The the ridges and valleys of the bowl also seem well rounded so that the whole package is really quite a treat, pun intended. Functionality – The bowl functions perfectly, effectively forcing my dog to take her time a bit more…resulting in a feeding time about sixty percent longer than normal according to my testing. Even better, she actually would leave some in the bowl so I know it is letting her know she is full before she is finishing! Verdict – 5 out of 5! I really can't recommend this product enough! I will definitely be keeping tabs on this brand for any other products they put out as well as telling my friends about them. Could not be any more satisfied!Justin

Lately my Redbone has been inhaling his food and I worry about him doing this. I tried combatting it with small, frequent meals, but he'll still gobble it down in seconds. Sometimes he'll eat so fast that he then regurgitates it (different than vomiting). So, when I had the chance to try out this Outward Hound Stop Bloat Slow Feeder Bowl, I was really excited. I chose the Large size as my dog is 85lb. It arrived in pristine shape and was way larger than I expected it to be. I only feed him about 1-1.5 cups of food per meal, so could definitely have tried the medium as well. This bowl will hold a lot of food. I even think it would work well for dogs that tank up on water. This bowl is probably a good 11-12" in diameter. The surface is very smooth and very easy to clean. There are four ring troughs, the central two being the largest. We feed a combo of wet and dry and it is still easy to fill the bowl. This has taken my dog from wolfing his food down in about two gulps to actually spending a minute or so eating. He likes to lick all the nooks and crannies after, too, so I think the bowl is vaguely entertaining to him as well. I would definitely recommend this bowl for dogs who eat too fast.
