I've tried the Veterinary Formula Clinical Care Antiseptic and Anti fungal Spray for Dogs and Cats on a few of our outside cats. They've been deflead but one still kept scratching and losing fur just above her tail. I'm not sure if it's an allergic reaction to the fleas or if it's the result of a thyroid problem. But we tried this spray and the itching stopped immediately. It's been almost 3 weeks and she still isn't scratching it. I also wanted to try this on some ringworm that a few of the outside cats have. I've been spraying this on for almost 3 weeks now but haven't really seen any improvement with the ringworm spots that I'm treating. Ringworm can respond slow to treatments anyway so I'm not sure if this is going to help with that or not. The spray is a pump and it has a light citrus smell, kind of like oranges. It will not harm your pet if they lick it. It didn't list a minimum age that you can use it on. It contains Chlorhexidine Gluconate, Keratin, and Aloe Vera. It's listed as an antifungal, antimicrobial, and antibacterial. To use this you just spray the area tell really wet, twice daily for a week, then once daily for another week. I read the reviews for this product but was still a bit skeptical for it to actually work. One of my cats (2 yr old orange tabby) literally scratched the size of a 50 cent bare spot (literally overnight) in center of his back below shoulder blade. By the end of the day the circle was warm red inflamed and gross. Being on a tight budget I did my research for home remedies. First I began applying a year old vet prescribed Dermalone antibiotic that was prescribed for one of my other cats for 3 days but area got worse. Then began applying Neosporin for 2 days lightly on and around scab now and ( luckily the spot was where he could not reach to lick off) and it did nothing as well. A week later purchased this product, followed the directions and a week later the area was completed healed. Scab dried and fell off and new skin looks perfect and normal. Unfortunately I dont know what this was for did not take him to a vet. Infected area did resemble pictures of ringworm online. My cat has had stomatitis for years and traditional vet medicine has not done much for him. I decided to try the Healthy Gums drops for his painful gums that one steroid a day kept mainly under control although there were always flareups. Unfortunately this gave my dog really bad diarrhea and discomfort. I wasn't sure if this was what caused the diarrhea initially so I took her off this for a couple days and added it back into her water after she recovered, she proceeded to have diarrhea again the next day. About 6 months ago, my cat, who has feline leukemia, stopped eating, was constantly vomiting, sleeping, and cringed whenever I touched her. I spent hours searching online for possible medicines that I could give her, even considering some pretty ridiculous and potentially stupid cure options. I found this and used it in conjunction with a Pedialyte and baby food mixture fed to her with syringe. Within 2 weeks, she was eating dry food again, running around with the other cats, and even more energetic than she'd been in the months leading up to this crisis. My dog sleeps with his mouth open like he has 3 jobs, but because of this additive to his water, his morning breath hasn't been too bad. I have a ten year old small dog who’s teeth had gotten very bad. I have used many doggie dental products with no results. Her gums were swollen in the front of her mouth. She was never a fan of tooth brushing so made it difficult to do a thorough job. She stopped chewing her bully bones. I picked these up at Petco one day and within a week, I saw great improvement. When I first found out about this product, I used it to loosen tartar on my under one year old dogs teeth. And it worked! I was able to scrape off the tartar after about a week or so. But the key is to use the product EXACTLY as directed and if you can brush in between uses, that is helpful too.Michele
My Chiweenie's teeth do not have tartar on them since I started using this. He has needed his teeth cleaned twice a year which is very expensive and potentially dangerous since they have to use general anesthesia. Bought this for Marnie and she got a little taste and was sneezing and walked away. She is 3 yrs old and has some bad breath for such a little dog, she refused both brushes and and we could not get either to get near her. The product smells nice and may work for large dogs or our dog may just be scared of everything but i was able to get a small amount on my finger and in her mouth , gum area before she ran off sneezing. Well this is certainly a new experience for me and the dog! For over 2 weeks now, I have just been using the mint toothpaste which is incredibly minty and not sure the dog likes it, however I have been getting her used to having something in her mouth (other than food) and use my finger with some of the paste on it. The finger brush which slips over your finger is cumbersome and awkward to use. The rubber end which cleans the teeth is small and quite neat but the rest of it is too unwieldy to comfortably slide in a mouth which is a bit reluctant to open. The toothbrush seems OK, but haven't really given it a good test yet. The instructions on the pack are not very informative about how much toothpaste you actually need to use per session and also if I am doing it correctly. Currently am just using the toothpaste on my finger, but I think will try another flavour and probably an easier finger brush if such a thing exists.Claire P

Useful when you’re in a pinch and not able to brush your dogs teeth (or perhaps don’t have a dog prone to teeth and gum issues). But, they don’t seem super effective besides acting as a barrier between your hand and the dog’s mouth to allow wiping away very superficial tartar or food from their teeth.

This is well tolerated by my 15 yo female tabby, she is a cranky older lady that never had dental procedures until three months ago. She had her first anesthetic dental that she did well with but I never want to put her through that again. Applying these drops daily her breath remains clear and she has gotten used to me sticking my fingers in her mouth with this. I have tried tooth brush training but it's too much. With the kitten, tooth brush is also too much and she tolerates these drops perfectly fine. They wriggle and squirm but I use my thumb and 3rd finger alternating sides with plenty of reassurance and we get through it without anyone getting upset. They seem to understand that it's safe. In June of 2013 I rescued my black cat. The Humane Society told me Sooki was about 2 years old at the time. Within a few months she started licking everything—including the furniture and especially the house walls. I took her to a Vet and she was diagnosed with feline stomatitis. Her gums were inflamed and it was recommended that all of her teeth be removed–a standard practice. I found another vet who said he had previous success with 1-TDC with cats suffering from this incurable disease. He started her on 2 per day. After 6 months there was about a 50% remission. After a year she showed no signs of the disease. The Vet said she would have to remain on 1-TDC for the rest of her life–1 per day, which I have continued. I cut off the tip and squeeze the gel onto a plate for Sooki to lick off. (She likes it.) As far as I am concerned that second Vet saved Sooki's life or, at least, her quality of life.CatLover2
