Dog Ate Small Piece Of Plastic Water Bottle For Sale (2024 Update)

I have been using this product for 14 years. The Lixit products have proven to be reliable, as advertised and last. I find no fault with the function or quality. It does just what it is supposed to do. It allows water to be accessed from the drip nozzle by licking. Sufficient water is released to satisfy a small dog. I have put them into clever homemade stands to carry around where I need them and attached to kennel pens. The spring attaching coil works well, but is difficult to move from one place to another. It will rust if left outside. If anything, a different attaching device would be recommended to Lixit to consider. I use elastic tarp tie downs which are easier to load and unload the bottles for filling. The only time one of the bottles has broken is when I might have dropped a very old bottle when it was full. The plastic will become brittle after several years and will crack in that situation. The nozzles seem to be indestructible. This is the only drip bottle I buy for my kennel. I purchased this water bottle to put on my puppy's crate while he is in for the night. I was worried at first because it seemed to leak. Once it's at the right angle, the leaking does stop, but this can be a bit worrysome when you are changing the water regularly. I find myself watching the bottle for a few minutes each time to make sure the leaking does in deed stop. The clamp that comes with the water is very hard to squeeze in order to attach the water bottle. I understand that it needs to be secure, but I almost hurt my hands dealing with it. Be sure you put exactly where you want the first time because I found unclamping it to move it was a pain.DBGoode

I bought one of these after a water bottle failure with a kit I bought. It was a pain to attach to the cage because the spring is so tight. I highly suggest you attach the spring and then try putting the water bottle on. So after the filling process, I noticed the water bottle was leaking. Dumped the water bottle out and took off the nozzle and reattached, again, still leaking. Took the first one back and got another thinking maybe another failure, nope, still dripping. My rabbits had no issue getting the water out as the ball does roll fairly easy. I like the top fill option for easy cleaning and easy filling. The angle of the nozzle needs to be changed, it can be an issue with some of my rabbits to the point I had to move them as far up as possible on a couple of my cages. Wouldn't be a bad product if they fixing the leaking and angle. For the price though you pay for this item, I will gladly locate a different one.britsdreamer22

The material that makes bottle looks like it will last a while. Because it is outside I wrapped the bottle with some insulation to keep the bottle cool during the day for the rabbit and also to protect it from the direct sunlight so that the plastic does not dry out. This is usually what makes the bottle crack. It would be better if the maker would put a rubber gasket on the top of the bottle so that it seals better.Nelida

I bought 3 of these bottles (2 from Tractor Supply and 1 from a feed store), and all three have leaked from the beginning. It not only makes a huge mess, but my rabbits run out of water every day. I've buying bowls (which hold MUCH less water) that attach to the cages to replace these. They were an expensive waste of money that I've had to spend more money to replace. I was concerned about buying these bottles when I read the negative reviews, but my son's hamster had 6 babies, we needed a water bottle for each one, and I was trying to keep costs down. After having bought and setup 6 of these bottles, this is what I found: These water bottles do NOT leak if you follow the directions. 1) Make sure that the black rubber ring (gasket) inside the water bottle cap is seated at the bottom of the threads. If the ring is offset and gets pinched when you tighten the cap or is entirely missing then the bottle will leak from the cap. 2) Fill the water bottle all the way to the top so that it is FULL of water… not a quarter of the way, not half way, not three quarters… but completely FULL, the bottle MUST be filled until it is FULL or else it will leak. 3) Once the bottle is full and the cap is screwed on, turn the bottle upright and roll your finger across the metal ball in the tip to make sure water comes out. If it seems like there is not enough water coming out of the tip then hold the bottle with the metal tip down and give the bottle a gentle squeeze so that a few drops of water come out, then a gentle shake to get the air bubbles to float to the top, and finally check the tip again to make sure that water flows when the metal ball is rolled. If you think you've got a drippy bottle then you can place a small ceramic plate underneath the tip to catch the water and verify the problem without swamping your cage. If the bottle is dripping too much then take it out, rinse the bottle and metal tip thoroughly, fill the bottle completely full (ALL THE WAY TO THE TOP), check the tip to make sure water comes out when the metal ball is spun, and rehang the bottle. I had one bottle that seemed to drip more than the others but was able to get it to stop dripping by doing this. I recheck each bottle every time the hamster cages are opened to make sure they are not dripping and that they produce water when the metal tip is spun. I've only had them a week but all 6 work just fine.redwall

This water bottle is good if you know how to make your own hangers, because whenever I get one of these the hanger breaks. I have no problems with leaking or the cap not fitting right, but I can never get one where the hanger doesn't break within 2 days. I use these water bottles for my Guinea pigs and my gerbils. They work amazing, but the hanger breaks and I have to take the time to build a new one. I would recommend this water bottle to anyone who has the time to build a new hanger.Della

I’ve owned several choc nose water bottles for my Guinea pigs. While I love the convenience of the set up, and the small amount of leaking, 2 of them fell apart, metal tube from plastic. This is honestly a good water bottle for hamsters, I was using water bowls for a while for a couple of reasons, one being I have them in bin enclosures, and 2 being the fact that my one hamster used to destroy his things. This is very nice because by adding two simple holes to the plastic wall of the enclosure I can attach this while the bottle is outside and the mettle tip is inside. No more destructive behavior, and still works great. I have two and both work fine, no leaks and also no issues with the metal ball getting stuck.Danica

I use these water bottles for my mouse rack. They work very well and allow me at a glance to see the amount of water in each bottle. The only drawback for me is that they tip is too long for my cages, so I have to turn the bottles a bit or they touch the substrate.Michael H.

We received our bottle and put it on our dog crate. The first couple of nights at leaked and we thought we were going to have to turn it back in I shook it hoping it might reseat the bottom ball bearing against the opening but to no avail. However on the third day we noticed it had quit leaking. It is now been about a week since we received it. It has continued to not leak. Horrible. Mine drips most of the time and is inconsistent. It drips onto the floor and is empty in a couple of hours and my poor puppy then has nothing to drink when I'm out running errands. It's messier than a bowl of water. The bottle is of a weak plastic and the mouth piece is flimsy. My dog can't manage to coexist peacefully with his normal water dish (he just splashes around in it to get all the water out, making a mess everywhere), so I got this bottle for his crate so that I wouldn't find the dog sitting in a puddle every time I turned around. My dog isn't a genius, so it took me a couple of days to help him figure out how the bottle is supposed to work. Once he got the hang of it, though, he decided he liked it and we were able to take his other water dish away completely. Life is much drier in our house now! Unfortunately this toy didn't last very long before my dog distroyed it, the plastic bottle came out which had sharp edges on the plastic bottle top. The bottom of the rubber bottle didn't take long to be in bits as my dog is a chewer because of this, this was now a possible choking hazard & had to be thrown away.Lisa

I’ve had this dispenser for around a year. When I was washing it in the sink, I think the water was just a little too hot for the bottle to handle. It warms the opening of the bottle. Wasn’t able to get the lid back on right after that. I wish they sold a replacement bottle. The lid is only four dollars out of the bottle messes up. I am sad to write this, but my China built waterer works better than this USA made product. Bought two from COSTCO and quickly noticed the water bottle was thin on one side and thick on the other. Of course, once inverted the thin section just collapses from the suction created by the upside down bottle. This company needs to rethink their manufacturing to better check for correct bottle wall thickness so it doesn't "implode." ** Pro tip ** put the bowl on the bottle like a lid, then flip it sideway to place on the floor! Be extra careful that you don't twist the two, because only a 1/4 turn can pop the bottle off the bowl during this process. We have 3 dogs and this is a godsend. I used to be constantly refilling multiple bowls in the house. With this, I can fill it and it lasts more than a couple days! Truly terrific!HappyMom

Have small 20lb terrier & 40lb coonhound puppy & both seem to love the squeak & soft plushy nubs of this chew toy. Unfortunately it did not last a week with them. Bottle got crushed & became permanently misshapen by day 3 from their chewing while the head was semi-decapitated & stuffing removed by day 5. We take our dogs out with us quite a bit and it can be a hassle carrying water for all of us. I love the convenience of this water bottle, for both humans and pets, with detachable water bowl for my fur babies. Water bottle keeps the water nice and cold and seems of excellent quality. I thought the handle was too big at first, but now I find it helpful for handling the bottle and pouring. I expect this to last for a very long time. The Asobu dog water bottle and bowl is just awesome! If you have a pet that frequently needs water, then this is the bottle and bowl for you. Traveling with a pet, and utilizing this bottle and bowl made the trip that much smoother. We were able to give my cat water at every rest stop, which kept her calm, peaceful, and hydrated. Great size and shape hanging watering bottle that the hampers cant chew a hole through making their water leak out into their cage….EVERYDAY. Finally! Heavens answered my prayer not to find them dehydrated (or dead) because I cant keep a water bottle alive for longer than a day. Its also great for a person like me that cant stand bedding all over the table all day everyday and so They put their fur buddies into an old fish tank and can only hang a water bottle from the screen top lid. As a small pet owner of over 35 + years, I have a great deal of experience with water bottles. I know that cold water should not be used in these bottles, that creates a terrible drip. I used room temperature water. The next morning when I checked this, you could see the water dripping out constantly and very quickly.
