I used this product this last season for my dog and he never got flees. I feel so much better using natural stuff than chemicals on him. It was very affordable. It has a very strong scent at first but the scent does lighten up after a day or two. I would recommend this to anyone with dogs.katrina .s

I am not someone who takes my dogs health lightly. I try to use natural products as much as possible. We had a tick outbreak and everything I tried did not work. I bought these drops for all the dogs. Put it on. Took about 3 days to completely soak into the coat but ticks have been unable to attach which is great. Over the last few days there have been less and less. These drops along with Diatomaceous Earth spread around the corners of the house and all the beds is doing the trick. I bought this product earlier this week. I read the instructions and made sure that my dog met the weight requirements for the product. It worked the first day. She stopped itching and biting. The smell was pungent but it was doable. I liked the fact that it was natural. The next day after application, my dog is back to itching and biting. It only provided temporary relief.Yae713

I was on frontline for years but when I thought I saw a couple fleas on my dogs in September 2020, I decided to make a switch to Advantage II for my cats and Advantix II for my dogs— BIGGEST mistake of my life (seriously, like over any horrible exes). I have $515.97 in receipts I submitted to the company (which was as horrible as the experience, which I will get to) and spent an additional $70 in store (in which I cannot find the receipt) since September 2020 to December. I followed every tip on the website and insert and my animals were still covered. I applied perfectly. I applied initially weekly, vacuum daily, steam cleaned, wash bedding constantly, etc. I don’t even have carpet but on the stairs and have treated the stairs and couches with Predcor. I even bought those flea traps with the sticky bottoms. I am not including any of this in that total I spent– that was all on the flea medications themselves for the 6 animals. I have saved some, not all, of the vials so on 11/13 I called Elanco. They denied my request for any type of refund. They questioned my exact dosage dates and frequency more than a doctor wants to know about your menstrual cycles but I took my best guesses, for all 6 animals although I did know what schedule they were on but didn't have it in front of me. Then they said that the product was probably not working because I bathed my dogs initially at the beginning 48 hours before application?? Their website TELLS you to bathe them before application (see 2nd screenshot posted)! I stopped bathing them after the 2nd application as it wasn't working and the dogs were miserable and only tried 2 cats (and really only 1 successfully because we all know how that goes). They then told me that I didn't give the product long enough?? Their website states (see 3rd screenshot) and is the same for Advantage II "K9 Advantix® II kills fleas within 12 hours. New fleas that jump on the dog from the surroundings, such as grass, carpet and pet bedding, are killed within 2 hours with protection against further infestation for at least 4 weeks." I tried their products, $600 worth on 6 animals, as scheduled, no missed doses for 4 months. I can’t blame it on just one animal or one batch—it didn’t work on 6, or one batch! I am very upset. Not only have I wasted money on these but I have bought corresponding products, sprays for the beddings, flea traps, etc. I FINALLY called Terminex and had to spend 12 hours clearing out under my beds, closets, getting everything off my floors, moving furniture etc. (time I will never get back) and getting my children and pets out of the house and went back to the brand that works: FRONTLINE! NO MORE FLEAS– what I should have done in the first place. I am so upset not by the fact that the product didn't work but by the way the company handled it, dodging any responsibility from blaming it on the baths they recommend to the length of time I gave it when they could have just refunded me and had someone that isn't going to not only post this review every place I bought it (not just here) but every other place that allows a review to include social media.Intelhottie

We bought Advantix liquid application anti-flea and tick treatment because it is effective, was less expensive and did not require a prescription. We had easily and successfully used liquid Advantix for years with our Plott hound mix. We now have a beagle. Beagle hair is different; it's thick, coarse, oily, kind of water proof and difficult to part in order to properly apply the liquid to the skin. Advantix is a very good product, but pet owners may want to assess their pet's coat to determine how the liquid application could be applied.Gary

My dog was getting ticks so I purchased this. I have used it in the past with great success when it had the Bayer logo on it . The one I received has the Elanco brand logo on it. I used 1 bottle and It was like I used nothing at all. Mind you I walk my dog and when he comes in the house I would find 2 or 3 live ticks walking on him. So I figured ok maybe it didnt work or I didnt wait long enough. After about 10 days of this I applied another bottle and again nothing. He still kept coming in the house with ticks every time. So I'm not sure exactly what's going on but the package I received appeared to be authentic. All serial numbers matched and packages were sealed well. This works well. It is non greasy and doesn't have a funky smell like some other topical flea meds. The problem with topical is that sometimes they stop working . Therefore you switch to the other brand . But so far I have not had to switch. It definitely works well and recommend to many people.deb.n

I am hesitant to use these types of products compulsively for preventive measures. Fortunately, We’ve not been in an area where fleas are out of control outside, as we have had problems in the past with other pets. These types of topical medicines would only be effective for a maximum of 1 1/2 to 2 weeks at best. And then our previous dog, and coincidentally our cat also, developed tumors where these types of medicines were being applied. I can’t say for certain that they were the cause. But it’s very suspicious that it happened in both animals. The dog we noticed first. And maybe a year or so later our cat. They both lived to past 11 years. And our dog was also on meds for epilepsy. Only briefly because he would spit out the meds no matter how clever I thought I was in hiding them. So, since he refused to take them, I stopped trying to make him. His grand mal seizures were frequent and long lasting. But, he just got better at spitting out the pills, even if I shoved them down his throat. i have only had to use these topicals a few times in our current dogs short life, so far. And it seemed to work fine and for as long as it said it was supposed to work. And when she or we seem a bit more itchy, I apply it again, and wait until it’s “needed”, again- as opposed to routinely scheduled once every month. And in my opinion, it works better than capstar, which is meant as a short acting topical to immediately relieve a flea problem getting out of control. But for whatever reason, this works better for us, even though it might take a few days to really notice results. (I never really noticed immediate results with. Capstar. It helped make the problem not get any worse. But it didn’t solve the problem either.)shelly.c

I bought this one day on the recommendation of the pet store clerk. What I liked is that it was easy to apply, and it work quickly and efficiently , neither of my dogs had any type of negative side effects, there was no redness or scaliness or itchiness at the point of the application, and less than 36 hours all fleas were sufficiently gone. I have bought five bottles of this so far because I like the product that much. It’s easy to attach to your garden hose and you’re able to treat a large area with one container. I like to use this heavily right on the woods line of my yard and then cover the grass. The ticks are horrible right now in NH and I feel this product really helps control them. The scent is also not overbearing and I actually enjoy it. It smells very natural and dissipates rather quickly. I’ve treated my lawn twice so far this year only because it ended up raining the following day after treatment. Overall, I really like this brand. Really strong. I used a little spot-check in the worst places because of the odor. Peppermint oil is also supposed to be good for rats which we also have this year after 12 years. I used Dr Brimmer's for that & liked it quite a bit. This stuff is really strong so be careful. I had also previously used some ENFORCER powder but that didn't seem to knock them out enough. You can keep spraying this, seems like there's more left over but like I said, it's very strong, be careful. Unfortunately, fleas & rats are abundant this year.Adrienne

Neighbors are completely infested, and now we have them too. I have been trying my absolute best to make sure we don't end up like them. I used the hotshot fogger and was bitten the same night. So much effort cleaning and inconvenience for something that only seemed to kill my house flies. After reading I decided to get alpine wsg, but I needed some relief until it came in. Im always skeptical of Walmart pet products but after reading reviews I decided on the Adams fleas and tick. I sprayed my bed the couch (the dogs sleep on both) and my entire upstairs carpet. I haven't been bitten in 2 days. I know they'll be back and ive many more things to do, but this spray works. Their is a funky smell but it's not really that bad as suggested by reviews and I didn't notice it even 15 minutes after spraying. The product seems good but the bottle isnt. Spray isnt consistent, and it leaks a bit, I got it all over my hands. Might want to wear gloves if that's a thing you're worried about, but it definitely killed adult fleas same day. Would buy again, probably would put it in a better sprayer myself.

If you are already infested, the reality is there is no one step. Treat your animals your house and your yard same day, if you don't nothing will seem to work. Me personally I'd rather properly use what the exterminators use. I think alot of people write reviews same day. They'll be back. Keep your house clean, treat your pets with a 30 day option, treat every room in the house even if you think there's no activity and treat your yard too. Don't leave a stone unturned and when you think your problem is over, do it again. If that's too much for you, consider an actual exterminator. If i could give this negative stars, I would. This stuff is awful. It's expensive, smells very strong of chemicals and doesn't kill any fleas. I lightly sprayed my furniture like the instructions said, waited for it to dry and my furniture smelled like nasty chemicals for days. It also left a greasy feel on my skin and clothing. Just an all around bad product. I'll never buy an Adam's product again. If you love your animals and children I wouldn't use this anywhere they will be. Find a different product.Amber

I have 2 indoor only cats and somehow became infested with fleas in my apartment. I tried home remedies to no avail and couldn't stand seeing them so uncomfortable. Today I bought flea foggers and Adams flea and tick spray, after applying the spray while on my white tile bathroom floor I saw them jumping off. So, having nothing better to do I say there watching them squirm and die for about five minutes when both cats, who rarely sleep together crawled into my lap purring and immediately fell asleep together. They got some much needed relief. I'm not sure how long it'll kill future fleas but I've bombed the house and will continue to apply the spray lightly until I don't see any activity. I think we'll all sleep well tonight and hopefully the problem is taken care of finally. I highly recommend this product. Let me begin by saying my dogs have never had fleas. Even when I would forget to apply flea treatment on time, they still would not have fleas. I decided to try this product, because it was more economical than others I'd used. This has proven to be a mistake. A few days ago, I noticed my dogs scratching, so I checked them, and they both had fleas. We have a house of pets including cats and a dog along with carpeted bedrooms. This means during the Spring and Summer we have to clean and vacuum daily and keep on top of flea prevention otherwise it is a nightmare! Anyone with pets and carpets understands. Since we live in the South very few flea products actually work for our animals and I’m not sure why, but it has to do with the fleas and immune to so many products. I gave PetAction Plus for Cats and PetAction Plus for Dogs a try and kept my fingers crossed. When this arrived one of my cats was starting to scratch – whether flea related or just an itch I’m not sure, but with it being that time of the year I wasn’t taking any chances and immediately put a dose on her as directed by the packaging (on the skin between the shoulder blades). So far since putting it on I have not seen her scratch once. I also made sure to apply a dose to the other cats who were due for their flea prevention and the dog as well. Again, no scratching. While it’s still early in the season to see just how well the product really works, so far I’m seeing promising results. The prevention is easy to apply and there is no odor. I have tried numerous flea and tick treatments and still would see a flea here and there. Living in a place where the weather is warm year round fleas are really bad. I was feeling like I was not going to find something that worked and was affordable. Specially since I have 4 dogs and 1 cat. I would feel so bad because my one Yorkie is allergic to flea bites and some of the products the fleas could still bite them. I even wrote a few companies asking about their product. One in particular wrote telling me that their product killed fleas but didn’t repel them. While doing some research I came upon Petaction plus. Beejers (a rescue Pom-Chi) is just 7 lbs and I used the expensive stuff on him the first 3 months when he came to his forever home with the 2 Bengals & I, cuz it said "WATER-PROOF". Beej is a real stinky little thing & needs bathing often. He loves his baths & will go & jump in the shower when HE thinks he needs one! Fat chance of that expensive stuff being water-proof !! I purchase this product for my 13 year old – 5 pound 2 ounce Chihuahua. I started purchasing from Petmeds because my Vet has been having supply issues, and wanting to change my Fur babies medication to different medications every month to every 3 months. Considering my Fur babies age and possible complications in constant changing of medications I decided that Petmeds was a better option for our Family. I also like that there are some savings involved with purchasing from Petmeds than purchasing from my Vet. Petmeds also includes a treat for my Fur baby, however I do have to break it into several smaller pieces. I have 2 very picky dogs, whom despite not having table food, turn their noses up at a LOT of treats, and meals. I had to cancel a subscription box I had for them because they only liked the toys and not the treats. I also have tried many different oral flea meds and the same thing, they will not eat it, no matter how I try to mask it in cheese or chicken, they could just smell it. With these, it doesn't have that chemical/grassy smell, and I have no issues giving it to them wrapped in chicken. They don't like to eat it by itself, but if I leave it on the floor long enough, they will eventually eat it. Since I have 2 dogs, I can't just leave it there in case one of them eats both doses so I wrap it in some chicken and they gobble it right up. I rescued Peanut 8 months ago. He's a senior dog, about 10-12 years old. Even though I had just lost my 16 year old male to congestive heart failure. I knew this little guy needed me. I’ve only used this once to dip both dogs, and the results are beyond amazing. Both bulldogs had some weird skin thing on their back. I've been using petarmor for quite a few years now, and not ever an issue, would find a dead flea once in a while. now this new order I received, first dose and both my dogs are having anywhere from 4-7 fleas everyday on each of them. I've had my yard sprayed, I bathe my dogs regularly , they only go outside to potty. So i a at wits end with why the petarmor is not working !!! I use fipronil for my work on bed bugs and other insects and I know this product works. I use your product for my dog and it works great. Fipronil being the ingredient in certain bed bug products is one of the best chemicals for the control of tough to kill insects. It works wonders on parasites of wild and domestic animals and is safe to work with by following the directions. It's basically odorless so dogs and cats dont mind the application. It takes a few days to kill but it last a very long time and some people dont give it time to work. It works by being ingested and if the tick or bed bug have already had a blood meal it will take time for them to feed again. So give itvtime.Carlo

So far, so good. I've been using this product as a generic alternative for Frontline Plus for about a year now. Applicator: The applicator is similar as the one from Frontline Plus and I would argue that it's easier to open. The product itself looks and smells like FLP which you would expect with the same active ingredients. Use: My dog's skin will be oily in the application spot for several hours but again, no different than FLP. I have tried alternative products with different active ingredients and they had to be applied in several locations on the dog's back and would remain very oily for days meaning that whenever the dog came into contact with furniture, there would be huge oily spots. This has not been the case with Petarmor. I typically apply it in the morning before going to work and then crate my dog while at work. When I return, the product is completely absorbed into the skin and I don't have to worry about oily residue on my hands or furniture. Efficacy: In the last year, we have had one tick on our dog that had actually attached while using this product. The 2 years prior, we also had one occurence of a tick attaching using FLP, so no difference there. If anything, maybe I'm not using it correctly or frequently enough? Either way, the ticks were relatively easy to pull out and the dog showed no signs of disease or illness. We also had one occassions where although the ticks did not attach to our dog's skin, they did use the dog as a vehicle to get into our house. I think the active ingredient kept them from attaching but didn't keep them from staying off of her. They ended up crawling on our floor but I was able to kill them. In short, it works at least as well as Frontline Plus although it isn't 100% effective in stopping ticks from attaching.iamholland

I live in a crazy flea ridden area. Southern swamp fleas are really tough to keep away. If you've got the money, go with Nexgard. We don't, so we tried this product out. It works just as well as Frontline, which here, isn't wonderfully but good enough. When we lived in IL Frontline was plenty. We also wash pet bedding often, and use food grade diatomaceous earth. You've eaten it many times without realizing, farmers use it on wheat and other crops to kill destructive insects (caterpillars and other wormies with exoskeletons). This is a very safe method for killing adult fleas, hopefully before they can lay eggs. Don't buy the pool stuff, get food grade. Sprinkle it on the carpet before vacuuming. Once fleas come into contact with it, they die within 4 hours – it slices up their exoskeletons. Obviously we can't coat every flea, but doing this regularly really cuts down on the problem (nyuk) and is much safer than harsh chemicals – plus, no smell. Just like talcum powder, flour, and other particulates, avoid breathing it in, as it can be an irritant to your and your pet's lungs (no tossing it in the air and dancing under it naked, but a little shouldn't hurt). For those hard to vacuum areas like under furniture, sprinkle a bit and leave it. There are also these bulb things you can buy to spread the dust more evenly, but it's cheap so we just use a sifter or shaker bottle with small holes. We killed them inside, but they kept reappearing. We realized we have a screened in porch with sand and gravel right outside the back door. Fleas love that stuff. Sprinkled it in the gravel and added the porch to the regular DE routine and now it's unusual to find those devils. Our dog has bad allergies to fleas, so they still irritate him but once they've bitten him they're kaput. Good luck! And if you life in the Southeast, my sympathies to your poor doggie!L.C.

Tried this on my dog that not only has sensitive skin , but also goes insane when bitten by a flea. Scratches and rubs herself raw and hair free in spots all over. Baths and dips made no improvement. Started using this a couple years ago and couldn't be more satisfied. I haven't noticed any side effects and she is significantly more comfortable. I know when its time to retreat. At around 4 weeks ish she is seen beginning to scratch and rub her back on the coffee table again. Retreat and all is good again.Skankhunt42

I have used Fiproguard Max for three years and have been completely satisfied then it was discontinued and replaced with Fiproguard Plus. Thanks to that I have been fighting a flea problem on my dogs and in my house!! Imagine sitting on your couch with your dog and a flea jumps on your arm, then you find them all over your dog! Mad dash to the store to buy (more $$) flea killer shampoos, sprays . Wash the dogs, all the bedding and soft furnishings, spray the house from top to bottom and guess what? In two days they're back! Finally had to get my house fumigated, (more $$) research other flea prevention products (more time) and get my dogs treated with a new product. I am SO mad!! Why on earth did they have to change the formula? BTW I phoned before I ordered the Plus formula to ask that question and asked if it worked as well as the Max but of course all the person knew was what was printed on the product description, well heck I could read that myself , thanks for nothing!AnnW

Unfortunately, I had high hopes for the dog rocks but they haven't worked in our case at all. We've been using them for 6 months now (following the directions to the letter) and her pees are still creating horrible brown patches on our beautiful lawn. Such a pity 😕 as the only other option we've found to stop it is to water the ground with a watering can wherever she pees but we can't always be there when she does it!Natalie

We put new turf in the backyard after the devastation of the chickens which are now on the farm. Straight away, little round patches of dead grass appeared. I recalled the rocks that solve this issue so bought some. The lawn has now returned to its pristine condition. Dog gets to pee on the lawn, lawn gets to stay green and healthy with no sign of where puppy has peed. Win win.Robyn

We tried these after moving into our new home on 14 October. Categorically didn’t work for our 5 yo and 6mth old English Staffies. I am now trialling Puppy and Dog milk as apparently diluting the dogs’ urine is key. Most dogs don’t drink enough fluids. Watch this space…Leigh M

Found this by chance at the local store. Applicator type flea stuff isn't all that reliable. The eight month collar option is a no no after reading up on it and finding it can cause a dog to go into convulsions. This once a month soft chew though is great. Our dog didn't scratch once. No side effects. Great stuff. It's so good we can hardly find it on the shelves to refill that way so we have to order on-line.Peachn

I bought these chews for a couple years. For my two dogs and then another 3 dogs that belong to my daughters. The dogs love them and they work really really well. I would rattle the jar and they would all come running 1 did the trick for at least 3 or 4 weeks . Within a few hours the fleas seem to be better . You can re administer as needed and I only had to do that I think the first time when I bought them in the fleas were really bad . When Coronavirus came and we had to start social distancing and staying at home I decided to order something off of Amazon. Unfortunately what I ordered didn't work and my house is now infested in fleas they're in my bed and furniture and everywhere. 1 chew seems to do the trick for my pitbull German Shepherd cross 60 pound dogs I will be going back to these.Amy

I bought the advantus yesterday. My babies loved them. I paid $54.99 plus tax $4.54 bringing the grand total to $59.53. Now let's break it down $59.53 divided by 30 days of the month that's a $1.98 per day to protect your baby. I do agree it could have had a lot more stuff to help with the fleas & ticks. Now the reason I said it won't work for me, is because I have 21 babies so instead of buying 1 bottle a month I would be buying 3 1/2 bottles. Now that's serious money, just bathe in dawn dish soap. mist them with a flea and tick spray before they go out to potty your good to go. I gave three stars because I bought it yesterday. I bought this 3 months ago from our local sams club for both our dogs. I don't know any other way to say this but it does not work. NO DON'T BUY! Look other places for flea and tick prevention this is a scam! We are completely infested with fleas. Its a never ending fight. We are going elsewhere for our prevention. Applied directly to the skin and followed all directions and it still failed to deliver. We are extremely disappointed as this was a good amount of money for what seems to be water and a promise. Unfortunately I bought this for 2 of our dogs who had ticks. It was a good deal, and cheaper than most other good things. Now I know that sometimes there's this one in a million chance that something really bad can happen, but you never think you will be that 1. Within 24 hours of applying these tick drops to one of our dogs(exactly as instructed) we woke up the next morning to find him dead. The other dog is still perfectly fine. I assume he had a reaction overnight unfortunately, and we didn't have the opportunity to do anything about it. Now I'm not blaming anyone, but I cannot recommend these drop for that reason. I also do not like the fact that these are different in the way you apply them compared to any other tick drops we have tried. This particular brand wants you to apply it down the entire length of the dog's back, instead of just behind the nape of the neck. I feel that this contributes to it not being as safe as others. The dog has more of a chance of ingesting it this way and I don't like that.incukahlan22

Much like Advantage, this product is not good if your cat already has fleas. I've used a few boxes as i have a few cats and made sure to split the hair and I still found fleas on my cats the next day and everyday after. You are better off using Revolution. This is the only topical product that i have seen work against current flea infestations.Gabriel Roger

I've been using petarmor for quite a few years now, and not ever an issue, would find a dead flea once in a while. now this new order I received, first dose and both my dogs are having anywhere from 4-7 fleas everyday on each of them. I've had my yard sprayed, I bathe my dogs regularly , they only go outside to potty. So i a at wits end with why the petarmor is not working !!! This product (when used faithfully) works! I’ve been using this product for nine years and no fleas or ticks. I briefly switched to the Plus and tried in the other expensive brand and my dog had a bad rash from whatever is in the Plus version in any brand. Oral pills make her sick. Bathed my shih tzu in dawn and removed 6 fleas with a flea comb. Let her dry. Checked and re checked her to make sure she had no fleas. Applied Pet Armor at 7pm. It's very distressing to find 3 happy engorged ticks on your dog 24 hours after treatment following all the requirements re: proper placement location on the dog, shaved the hair to make contact only on the skin, no water on the dog for 24 hours or at all after treatment. I was frankly, pretty shocked. This is an older small dog with arthritis. He is already in some pain and to find the ticks on him on top of this frankly really upset me. I breed Chihuahuas and I also foster cats/kittens. My Chihuahuas are litter box trained so they rarely get fleas because they dont spend a whole lot of time outside.
