Our boy enjoys his crate and sleeps in it no problem, but we thought it would be nice to be able to block some light and noise for him, plus the cover looks nicer since it's in our living room. I will say that the sides overhang onto the floor by an inch or so, but maybe it will shrink a bit when I eventually wash it. Not enough of an issue to deduct a star. So the continuing saga of shipping an 8 week old golden pup. We got pre-approved for this crate for our puppy going form Portland to North Carolina. The United air freight office in Portland is a bit over enthusiastic! They decided that even tho the pup could stand up, turn around and was clearly happy, he needed a bigger crate. At 6 AM in the morning at the airfreight, United has no crates so they tell me to go find one if he is to go out. I go to three other airlines and hit gold on Alaska (they are awesome). They had a 200 crate that the pup happily goes into and back to united. OK to fly. I them return to Alaska to ship his brother in the same size crate that was turned away and off he goes with not a hitch! Ughh shipping pups is not for the mere mortals!drdawg

The cover was just as I expected. Light weight, durable and easy to care for. The oy recommendation I can .American is to add velcro/hook&loop fasteners to keep the top of the cover in place. This would prevent the occupant from chewing and keep the cover in place. The for is drab but it gives the crate a dark den appearance so the occupationt is calm and content. During the day I have to crate my 11 week old Pitbull puppy and she is not a big fan of it, yet. Well the first day I crated her, I foolishly gave her full run of her 42" crate with the bumper lining in it and the cover of the crate. Well I got home to a DRIED, HARD poop smear fest. I was so worried that the staining from her poo would not wash off of the Khaki cratewear. Well not only did it (thansks to Nature's Miracle Pet Detergent too) but it maintained it's length and shape. I was afraid that it would shrink in the dryer, even on the dleicate cycle. No need to worry. Since then I have taken the bumper out, put her divider up and only the cover remains on the crate. She has gotten poo on the cover and holds well with each wash. I recommend that if you have a puppy new to crating, only use the cover and then when they can be trusted not to mess, add back in the bed and bumper. I personally cannot wait until she gets to that age, because when you put it all together, it looks FAB! My mom really likes the cover as well, great home estetic (sp?) and it makes the crate look so much more homey then w/o it. Recommend to shop around for price, thus far dog.com had the best deal!R. One very satisfied dog with the wild horses crate cover. My Mum bought the cover as I have decided I want to sleep on the covered back porch during the summer and enjoy the sounds of the night in the moonlight. We use this cover for our puppy because she has separation anxiety. She really like to be in her crate with this cover on. This is really good quality and the zipper on the front is good quality as well. XL fit my 15 year old crate, I was surprised since most covers are too large. My pup couldn't wait for me to finish slipping it over his crate and falling asleep. It really does block out the light. It helps create's a warm and cozy napping experience. Since my crate is a little older and I think a little shorter than newer ones the cover went to the floor. My spouse said it will be perfect to cover the dog crate when we want to take him camping and sleep in.Sheri
Prior to receiving this I would use an old blanket to cover my dogs cage. I have a German Shepherd and it fit her XL cage perfectly. I like that it keeps it nice and dark and looks much neater than putting an old blanket on top. It comes in a nice reusable bag for storage. Material feels durable and it keeps the cage dark inside.
