No its like everything else I have tried does not work I can't even get my cats to get it down. My 20 y.o. senior cat has had upper respiratory issues since he was 1 year old, but had gotten so chronic and so bad that he has literally had a stuffy nose and sneezing for an entire year straight. The only thing my vet knew of that might help was an off-label use of Cerenia, which is expensive and was hard to get him to take. I adopted an older girl from our local shelter. From what we could tell, she had been on the streets for a long time, but seemed healthy. My poor pupper got irritated paws from horrible ginko berries smashed all over the fall ground and then made them worse by licking. They were so red and I felt so bad. I've been using it since the 90's – long before Tea Tree oil was main stream in the US. It works so well and I happen to like the smell. My avid little mouser cat caught herself a little prize just a few days before a month-prior planned trip my husband and i were unavoidably about to go to. Apparently that mouse had bitten her back in the process, right on her tender little lip cleft! Before we knew it, that bite had gotten infected so bad she became lethargic, her face swollen an angry shade of red, she could not eat or even drink on her own and she could not even close her mouth and was drooling on herself. Because of the covid situation and proximity of timing to our trip to see family, there was no way to get her to a vet in time before we had to leave in 3-4 days. Using this for hot spots on my canine, this stuff does work but it sometimes can take up to 2 8oz. Bottles to heal the area's treated. Not sure if it's the strength of medicine or just those stubborn spots. I caught the spots early on and started treating them immediately and have been treating them for a month now and they are getting better but slowly, these things are stubborn. I can say that absolutely nothing else I tried worked. Believe it or not, I read online the other day that rubbing Pepto Bismol on hot spots actually works, you heard right, Pepto Bismol. I haven't had the nerve to try it as I thought it could just be some nut trying to infect your pet even worse. I'm quite surprised with the reviews that say this product doesn't work. For my dog, it truly was a LIFE SAVER! I've been battling with my dogs hotspots (and dry, flaky skin) off and on ever since we moved back to the Midwest, at least a year of her issues. I've tried shampoos, conditioners, a handful of trips to the vet to trial different foods, and hundereds of dollars later I honestly just gave up. I started putting alternative topical agents on her that simply gave a temporary resolution. While traveling out of town, she (Mini Schnauzer) had a really bad case, to the point where she was starting to bleed. Tea oil, hot spot spray and the above HomeoPet drops were what I returned with, after another visit to the pet store. After the first day her redness had diminshed greatly and she wasn't itching nearly as much. By two, she wasn't itching AT ALL. I decided to remove the Tea oil and spray since I'd used them in the past without long-term results. It's been a week and my schnauzer has had 3-5 drops a day, oral dose of this product and she is doing exceptional! Seriously! No redness, no scratching. Today I hadn't given her any since yesterday afternoon and she started scratching again. I gave her 3 drops and about a couple hours later, again, her scratching is gone. This product worked exceptionally on my dog. On the other hand, I don't think her issues were due to food allergies, vs environmental surroundings, my guess. I have a cat that has a tendency to lick patches of fur off her front legs when the weather turns either warm or cold in the summer and winter. The vet told me it's likely due to seasonal allergies. Well, after a couple of years of having to take the cat to the vet twice a year and spending upwards of $200 each time, I looked for an alternative and came across Hot Spots. The next time my cat licked her normal patch of fur, I squeezed a few drops onto her wet food a few times a day. Within a few weeks the patch began to heal and the fur grew back. Amazing! We used this product on our grand dog. He was a scaly, crusty mess and had lost most of his hair. We took him to the vet and put him a regimen of medicated shampoo, oral antibiotics and an immunomodulator. We used the Skin Soother immediately after his daily bath. My pug had a dark bald spot on his neck from scratching and I was looking for something that would hopefully heal the area and let his hair grow back. I discovered the skin soother and decided to give it a try and this worked like magic! I ordered the 2 oz stick version and loved it. The application was great. It was very easy and clean to apply overall. I applied it to the area twice a day for two weeks before I was able to start seeing results. The hair started growing back and the dark skin was lightening up and becoming less dry and flaky. At the same time, my dog was scratching at it less so that was a plus. Only thing is this stick was practically gone by my second week. It would not have come close to lasting the month. That being said, I had to order another to see continued results but I ordered the larger tin instead. My only issue with this product is the tin is a lot harder to apply. The texture itself is not as soft and smooth as the stick. I also had to use my own hands to spread it on which I did not like at all. It also gets messy in the tin as my pug sheds so there is now hair stuck in the product. My recommendation to the company would be to have the stick in a larger option and I would gladly purchase that. I adopted an older girl from our local shelter. From what we could tell, she had been on the streets for a long time, but seemed healthy. Unfortunately, within several weeks, she stopped eating and seemed in pain. One morning before I could take her outside she passed quite a load of bladder stones on the floor. Purchased this when my dog started wetting the bed at night. Noticed she wouldn't wake up to be put out but in the morning her bed would be wet. I adopted a dog 2 years ago and she is great. I noticed right off the bat though that my dog's bladder would leak when she got excited which I know can be common so I didn't think too much of it at first. My dog went a few days with excessive "goop" from his eyes. Since my dog hasn't had a history with this, and doesn't seem to have seasonal allergies, the vet suggested an antimicrobial for the eye irritation and I went with this ophthalmic gel based on the luck I've had with other Vetericyn products in the past. I started with a tiny drop on the corner of my dog's eye to be sure he wouldn't have any reaction to it. Later that day, I went ahead and applied a few drops in each of his eyes. I applied the gel two times a day for three days in a row and by the fourth day his eyes had stopped having discharge. It is almost like my dog knew the drops would make him feel better as he kept his head very still when I applied the gel to his eyes. The shape of the dispenser where you squeeze the product out of makes it very easy to apply the gel to their eyes. While it is a "gel," it comes out of the dispenser fairly quickly which I find allows for an accurate application. The gel-like substance is great to confirm that you got the gel where you want it to go. Went out one morning and caught a glimpse of what looked like a little scratch on my horses eye. Upon inspection the eye itself was untouched but the eyelid was cut about an inch long from the back corner towards the front. I cleaned it and figured I would just leave it alone. The next morning it was itchy and irritating her and REALLY swollen. I cleaned her up, applied the Vetericyn ophthalmolic gel, and put a patch over her eye to keep her from rubbing it and repeated this 4 times that day and removed the patch that evening to let it air. This product helped me when my dog had an eye wart. The vet said it did not need to be removed until it got to the point that he was scratching at it or it started to affect his vision. This worked great on my dog's irritated ear. It was a weekend AND a holiday, and my poor little guy was so uncomfortable. I couldn't find an open vet anywhere and the ER was packed. After a little research, I decided on the Zymox and found it at my local Petco, which was not only open, but open all day even though it was a holiday. Using a cotton ball to remove the residue (and icky stuff), and she clearly hears better. My poor dog has floppy ears and has been shaking his head for weeks. He seemed to have some sort of infection and i tried my best to help him to no avail.
