Courage Cowardly Dog House For Sale (2024 Update)

Bought this for our 7 month old Pyrador puppy, who has already outgrown one house. It was easy to put together, and the sturdist dog house we've ever seen. Plus being insulated is perfect for a cold Indiana winter. She's huge and still growing and loves it. The first night she slept in front of it despite dog treats inside. Second night was cooler, she decided to check it out so the head and front paws went thru the swinging door first, and after she had stood that way for about 5 minutes, walked all the way in, and has loved it ever since. From the size if it unless she grows as much as Clifford the big red dog, she'll get to enjoy for a lifetime.PJ

We got this house for a new Boxador puppy so that it can spend most of its time outside. We found it to be a good product. It was easy to put together and does stay much warmer than the outside air. In rainy weather, it stays dry. It is a very large house which would work for a lab or other large dog. No problems with the dog using the door. Only suggestion: add nuts and bolts for the 6 screws. Screwing metal into plastic is not a real good plan. I'm assuming the company will have replacement parts (door, window, etc…) available for my investment!Y Robinson

It's not extra large, that's for sure. It's a large. My two Berner males at 94-lbs and 120-lbs don't go in because they can barely turn around in it. Nor my 88-lb Pyrenees. The material itself is great. But isn't the point that the dog can get in/out of it so they use it? My smaller 72-lb female uses her Ex-Lg. So is it really the size a medium dog should use? I spent $$ for 5 Extra Lg and 1 dog uses it. Not a happy camper.SCloudcroft

Purchased a second XL house for our two Great Pyrenees because they no longer fit in one together. Our original is over 15 years old and is in great shape. Love the new design with the slight angle that provides more space and blocks the wind. Durable and strong material, yet still lightweight and easy to move.S Ringo

My dog seems to love his new doghouse. It's very roomy and super easy to assemble. It's insulated too so hope it keeps him warm. We took the bottom half of the doggie door off to get use to going in and out of the doghouse. He did wonderful. I think when we put the bottom half back on it will be fine.LoriOe

I receive the item and the box was in good condition. Upon opening the item there were 8 pieces. 4 walls, the top and 3 pieces that make up the floor. 3 of the 4 walls were split by screws that were inserted on the pre-fabricated panels. I took pieces and sent them to customer service. I believe this was done before being boxed up to ship. Although I was offered a discount for the damaged item I don't believe it would last as the floor did not attach but rested on the ledge of the sides. When my dog stepped into the dog house the first time 1 of the 3 pieces that make up the floor flipped up. It is nice looking but the wood is very cheap. I would not recommend buying.Unhappy Customer

I expected better of this outdoor doghouse, especially for the price. It is made of "fir wood" which isn't a hardwood at all. Pine would have been sturdier. Assembly was easy but the house itself flimsy, with several of the pre-fab section not even nailed or glued together, and some pieces with parts of the wood broken off. Even in the "giant" size it was barely large enough for a 90lb GSD. The feet were plastic and the floor slated wood were the elements can creep through. This house is advertised as ideal for outdoor use – but I wouldn't trust it during a New England winter. It was sent back immediately. I would NOT recommend this manufacturer for outdoor dog houses. For less money you could build a better one out of more durable wood.Razor

I just opened my Small size Precision Pet Extreme Log Cabin doghouse today to assemble. It looks like it will assemble pretty well, although one of the sides is 3/16" out of square. Because the panels are firmly glued and screwed together it will require some adjustment/trimming to assemble correctly instead of attempting to break the glue joints and true it up. Obviously a rush job by the factory in Wuhan. The roof shingles do appear to be very well sealed and bonded together, however there are a few spots on the edges of the composition shingles on the roof where bare wood can be seen at the edges, which would allow water to get into the roof frame, so those spots will have to be sealed. The three piece floor has 1/8" gaps between the slats, so if you want the animal occupying the box to be comfortable when it is cold and windy, you will have to do some modification to the floor, which I plan on doing. The statement that the box is waterproof and weather resistant is a stretch. The stain/preservative used on all of the wood surface is so thin that pouring any water at all on the wood surface disappears as the wood instantly absorbs it. I will not put the box in service until at least 2 coats of a high quality exterior grade paint/stain is applied. If you try and use this box without putting a proper preservative coat on it, you might get one year of use out of it before it rots or suffers UV damage and cracks and splits. This doghouse is being re-purposed by me to be a Barn Owl nest box; the dimensions are almost perfect and as soon as I saw it I realized that it could be used for quick installation during the brief annual window between December to January during which Barn Owls are NOT in their box. All I really have to do is put an insert into the door to reduce the opening size, add a perch/balcony outside the opening, fix the floor, and of course, properly seal the wood so that it will last more than one season. My primary reason for paying the extra money for the "EXTREME" model was the feature description that said: Its stainless steel hardware also adds to its sturdiness. THIS IS A LIE! THE HARDWARE SUPPLIED IS NOT STAINLESS STEEL, so this is my major gripe. My guess is that China figures that most Americans can't tell the difference between stainless and non-stainless steel. I'm a retired engineer, and you can almost always identify stainless/non-stainless steel by its color and appearance, although the surefire test is with a magnet. Regular steel will be strongly attracted by a magnet, if it is stainless steel, you might get a very slight attraction. This stuff is definitely normal steel with maybe a thin coat of zinc – not stainless steel. It took a bit to ship because of a blizzard but it was worth the wait! The second it got to my house I popped it in to the DVD player and watched the whole first disc. The next day I watched the second disc. Surprisingly I watched some more of the same episode a few days later and they didn't bore me. Can't wait for season 2! This is worth the money and fun for the whole family!dutchbunny

I definitely am happy that I finally get to enjoy a childhood favorite. There's only three reasons why I gave this a four star. 1. I wish it was Bluray, because I can see a slight graininess to the picture due to the quality. 2. I've heard (don't quote me) that there is at least one episode missing from each dvd that wasn't released by cartoon network. 3. I wish the casing wasn't so cheaply made, you can feel the plastic is very flimsy. But over all, I got it at a good price and I still will enjoy it.Suzanna

The cartoons they have today is trash, I think this a great cartoon and if you buy it you will see why it made it into the cartoon network Hall of fame. I have loved this show since I was young and when it just can out now I'm about to be 18 which is basically an adult and I still love it. No regrets here.Bloodly Jasper

Our two adult Great Pyrenees both adapted quickly and were going in and out freely. At one point both of them were together in the same dog house. They now have a dry alternative if they should want shelter during a storm.Dave

These are nice dog houses. They are light weight & don't look like they are very warm, but they actually do a good job, my border collies like these a lot. The extra neck or tunnel entrance is nice to give them some extra protection and privacy. They stand up pretty well to puppies chewing on them to. I recommend this dog house.Iowafarmgal

I mistakenly bought the Large doghouse for dogs up to 90 lbs. But my 5 month old coonhound was too large for it. I returned it and ordered the X-large doghouse and it is the right size. Unfortunately, the doghouse was broken in two places, probably due to the way you ship. These doghouses are delivered without any protection and will crack or break when sliding into anything. I will have to repair it to hold it together since I don't trust you are able to send another one without the same issues.Daniel

We just received the doghouse and I have to say the assembly was extremely easy. Took me 20 min by myself (34 yr old woman). We needed a doghouse that would be a nice shelter for our dog when we are out all day (leaving him inside all day is not working). House seems well made. Flooring makes me a tad nervous about its stability (not as solid as I would like), but I think it should hold my 64 lbs growing boxer pup ok….we will see. Looks really cute and I love that it's raised so rain won't effect it. Roofing looks waterproof & should be prefect for our boy when we are gone all day. We live in San Diego so weather is mild & generally sunny but should keep him warm enough in the cool evenings with his bedding. I'll update if anything changes but we are happy so far!Christopher

Product looked great online, had all the features for our 2 small dogs (Corgi/Jack Russel mix – 20 lbs. each) to share a large size house. We also bought the insulation liner (great product as well). House was easy set-up with one screwdriver, pre-drilled holes lined up perfectly. All parts were pre-cut to the right specs, and very decent quality. The unit is very study when put together. We put one of their dog beds in for added comfort – they love it. It took less than a day before they had their sleeping and hanging out arrangements figured out, plenty of room for both. I purchased one of these after trying one of the hard plastic barn-type dog houses without success. Either my dogs didn't like the plastic, or were afraid of the smallish entry, so even though they are only 50 & 70 lbs, I went with the XL size. After getting them used to the dog house by tossing a few treats into the back of it, they seemed to not mind this one. A few days later, I heard a ruckus in the back yard, and upon investigation, I found that my dogs were fighting over who got to sit in the dog house, thus forcing me to purchase a second one just to keep them happy. I also placed an outdoor carpet square in each dog house for padding. This dog house is easy to assemble and looks nice. However, the floor pieces are not secured with screws so I can hear them rattling a little when the dogs climb in and out. Leaving the pieces as they are will allow me to turn the dog house on its side for easier access while cleaning, but I may just screw the floor pieces down anyway. Also, the packaging tends to leave the roof ridge cap vulnerable to breakage during shipping. Called the company for a free replacement and am waiting for the part to arrive.oblvios

We like this house, sturdy, dry, easy to assemble. It’s still a little small for my dog long term, (Great Dane) but while she is growing it will do. There was no larger option otherwise I would have gone that route.Jeff

Some of the other reviews indicated you could put this together in 30 minutes but it took us an hour and a half. We were very glad we had large clamps to use in the final steps to pull the sides of the house together so the roof would fit down tight on top. So far our dog has not used the house but I think if the weather gets bad she may go in.top1stock

I wasn't sure it would be big enough for our golden retriever but, it worked out and he likes it. I ordered the biggest house. My husband put it together fairly easily, total time a little over an hour. All pieces are made to work together like a big puzzle. The wood is thick and the roof and flooring material is strong. This Courage the Cowardly Dog set is missing the PILOT episode: "The Chicken From Outer Space". It should definitely have been included. The first few disc's have a nicely illustrated episode menu screen, then later disc's go on the cheap with a single lousy screen shot that gives no hint to each episode's plot. There are no special extras PERIOD. The English subtitles help to make all the scripts perfectly understandable. The video and audio quality is tops. Dil needs to bring us an "Ultimate Courage Collector's Edition" which could include Dil's commentary and the commentary of others on each episode. It should be in a large velvet pink box that whimpers like Courage when it is opened.mad_men_brands

This show really took me back to the 90s. The couple Ustis & Merial and the hero Courage the dog. he may be little but he's got guts to take down any thing that goes bump in the night and threatens his home and family. Awesome to see the whole series.Thebeardow
