Our dog enjoys this bed! The XL fits our 170lb mastiff comfortably. I was happy to finally find a pet bed large enough to fit him and the price point for such a large pet bed can’t be beat. It took a few times of coaxing him to get on, but once he discovered that it was stable and safe he now happily lays on it. We use it outside so he can avoid laying on our concrete patio. Talk about an amazing bed for dogs! I purchased one of these to try out in hopes my picky dogs would enjoy it. Boy was I surprised that all three of my furry babies fell in love! It's design is simple yet durable inside and outside……which is great in our hot desert climate!! My older dog loves that it's elevated off of the ground so that it's less of a strain on her joints to lie down. My little two enjoy snoozing on it together, and using it to hop up onto the "people" lounge chairs lol! Another bonus is that the material allows air to flow through the bed which keeps it much cooler than normal pet beds, and it's super easy to hose down if it gets dirty. Very well made, easily constructed, and exactly what our pup needed for these sultry summer months BUT I never looked at the dimensions, if they're listed, before ordering the XL. I expected it to fit a full size dog reasonably well but I couldn't stop laughing after I opened the box, unfurled the mat and commenced to building what is practically a twin sized bed frame (exaggeration but see pic) lol. I purchased two of these raised beds (large size) for my two large 8 year old Labradors (55 & 60 pounds) about 18 months ago. I am impressed on the durability of the mesh and very happy with the strong, yet light weight frames. These beds keep my dogs clean, and are easy to keep clean and fresh with a spray of my garden hose. I can easily move them inside when night time temp drop. They support my older large dogs, (cradle them) keep them comfortable, and off the ground. One of my dogs likes to scratch the surface before she lies in her bed, and has shredded many CostCo and Sam's Club plush beds at $40-$60 within a couple months. After 18 months of daily use, she finally tore a few small holes in the mesh cover…I was very pleased that the replacement mesh covers were only $11 each. I cannot tell you how much I like this bed! The value for the price is tremendous! Friends have purchased similar but much higher priced dog beds that have not held up nearly as well. After 5+ years of use and abuse by 100+ lb. dogs, 80+ lb. kids, and a few cats (one of which loved to sharpen his claws on the cover) I have finally had to replace the cover. The new cover went on easily and looks great. I would recommend this dog bed to anyone with the caveat that it may rust and the screws will 'freeze up' if left out in the weather. Mine has spent most of its life outside, but under a deep eave. It gets wet, but not soaked. It gets direct sun, but only in the very late afternoon. Two of the 4 screws would not budge when I changed the cover – luckily, only one on each end – but I suspect a little WD-40 would have solved that problem. Knockoffs have wrong sizes, they don't last a year in the AZ sun, poorly made, cheap materials. That is what you get when you DO NOT buy OEM! The Coolaroo OEM cover costs maybe $3-$5 more than a knockoff, but lasts 2-3 years, compared to 6 months, so do the math, how many do you buy in 3 years? SIX? or ONE? Coolaroo covers are heavy duty, well stitched, still hard to install, but that is a condition of the design. When I finished installing two new covers, the dogs circled me during the assembly, waiting to see which one could get the first one! As soon as I put it down, they were on it and when the winner got his, they came back to me, circling as I replaced the second cover. Wash, rinse, complete! On it!! For Europe, you have to register on the Canada/USA site and of course the form is geared for zip codes not UK address formats. I ended up on a chat session with them and still have no confirmation of the registration of the purchase. I have another one in grey outside and its been fine through two summers and winters. Once put together its designed to stay together so i wouldn't say its a travel cot. I think did see a replacement mat available when i ordered this. I may go ahead and order the replacement mat portion for a few years down the road while its available because the cats love it so much it going to get a lot of wear. I think did see a replacement mat available when i ordered this. I may go ahead and order the replacement mat portion for a few years down the road while its available because the cats love it so much it going to get a lot of wear. I ordered a Medium, and I'm pretty sure I got a Large. It's bigger than the Medium size bed, and since it's for my kitten, I'm really hoping he grows into it! I have this exact same bed in a medium size that I purchased years ago, and the foam in that one is a LOT thicker than the foam in the one I received from Groupon. I'm not sure if that's a change in production/quality by Furhaven products, but I do wish the foam was thicker, especially for such a large bed. My kitten seems to like it, so I'm keeping it, even though it's HUGE for him.
My two dogs, who are very particular about laying on blankets and pillows, both gravitated to this bed as soon as I put it out for them. They love the combination of the orthopedic bed with the soft and fuzzy plush covering on it and will stay there for hours, when they used to only curl up on the couch with a blanket with a human. Their immediate satisfaction with the bed was a very pleasant surprise and I cannot stress enough how picky my dogs are about where/what they lay on and how much they love this bed. I ordered this after my 60lb Golden girl refused to leave my sister’s Golden’s bed over the holidays. My sister told me where she got it and I ordered my girl one immediately! It is a nice thick bed with a very soft cover. I got the beige/cream color, which has a little bit more yellow tinge to it than I’d like, but it still matches our home decor & her hair color the best out of the options. I got the Jumbo size which gives her plenty of room to sprawl out when she wants. I love that it has a little height on the sides for when she wants her head elevated. I like the idea of this product but after reading the instructions I found this not to be what I was looking for. I like the bed idea which it’s nice the mats are interchangeable. However when putting in the water they recommend grapefruit to prevent bacteria. I’m not a fussy person so now I have to worry about bacteria in my dog bed. Also I thought the blue would be mesh and it’s like a hot water bottle. You add water and it stays cool. I think I’d rather like the idea of the of the regular bed that’s waterproof and bacteria proof.meghan.f
Ashland absolutely loves her cot and canopy as I’m writing this she’s laying outside in our yard on it right now it’s a sturdy little cot and the canopy keeps the sun off for a nice and cool! It’s our third one we purchased from K and H we live close to the ocean so get some pretty strong winds sometimes the canopy can get torn but by far this is the best cot and canopy we found we have tried a couple other ones and they don’t block the sun I just don’t hold up as well as this one! Highly recommend a little puppy loves!! You can add the canopy to this cot. We chose to not fill it with water we just use it the way it is we didn’t want to mess with cleaning still keeps Ashland cool. We also purchased the regular cot to swap out in the fall.Jillene P.
Just received my coolin pet cot which I ordered direct from K&H. My dog is a cockapoo with beautiful curly hair which is great but makes him hot until we get to the groomer. So this cot should really help. So far we're using it to teach him the "place" command, but as the summer hits we will use it as his regular bed. So far he has no problem lying on it, but since it is still cool where we live, we haven't yet added the water to the pad. Hopefully it will be his go-to place when he gets hot. The cot is well made, went together easily and seems sturdy enough to last a long time.Mark
