OK I needed to get my younger boy to check himself with the over excessive barking but I never wanted to use anything like the shock collar which to me is a little inhumane. The one thing I noticed that did work is spraying him with a water bottle,however that’s not practical when he’s far away in the yard or trying to chase him down to do it. This was the perfect solution I can’t believe I didn’t know about this! It fit him perfect was easy to adjust with plenty of room till the perfect fit so I’m sure it’ll fit almost all dogs. It was very easy to set up you just pop one of the little spray refill cartridges which it came with two,unscented and citronella and so far we are on the unsented. It has a USB charging cable which was also convenient. Although in my pic I have the collar on his back it has to go under his neck I just did that for the picture you might have to trim your dogs fur under his neck which I did and it worked much better. It was just too much. We tried everything – the vibrating collar (worked for 2-3 weeks), the shock collar (I don't think at all), a loud pump of air – he didn't like it and it curbed some barking – but you have to get him when he does it. I purchased the bark collar a few weeks ago now and have found it's worked really well in training our German Shepherd. She's an excited 4yr old who doesn't seem to grow out of the puppy stage! She would bark at birds, people walking past, neighbours in their yards, our cars pulling in….. etc and generally driving everyone crazy. We tried stopping the barking by putting on a bark muzzle each time she barked however you couldn't leave it on when you went out for the day and so it was never consistent. The first week of using the bark collar she seemed abit depressed, not running around like her usual self, now though she's used to it and back to her active self without barking! The only issues we've had is the collar does move, she's a long haired German Shepherd and I feel I have to do the collar up very tight to keep the contact between prongs and skin even though they're the long prongs, the only other issue was once after barking in response to the collar she yelped and it set the bark collar off again and became a cycle of yelping/zapping, fortunately we were able to get to her quickly and take the collar off to stop the cycle because it was horrific when it happened. We haven't had any further occurrences like that though and have continued using the collar. Now even when we have our friends dog over and I take the bark collar off while they play she doesn't bark. I would definitely recommend using a bark collar to train your dog if their a nuisance barker like ours was. She only barks to alert us to an intruder or a perceived danger. Prior to purchasing this collar… We noticed a sudden change in her behaviour when we moved house. 5am pedestrians and dog walkers and foxes passing by would set her off and we’d often have to get out of bed to give positive reinforcement or bring her inside. In the beginning, I purchased the Petsafe Basic Bark Control Collar – PBC19-10765. It came with free Replacement Batteries and I purchased an extra pack to save on future postage. Initially, our Labrador responded quickly and barking reduced, however, I don’t believe that was the correct unit for our girl. Her irritability and persistent barking returned to full on annoyance after about four weeks. I got this bark collar for my two dogs and it worked wonderfully for a few months. They completely stopped barking! But then, the battery wouldn't stay charged. I was told that I might be doing something wrong that ruined the battery. Customer Service was uber helpful (5 stars for them!) and they sent me a new collar for free. I ended up going through five collars in just a few months with the same problem each time. The rechargeable battery is the only problem with this product, but it is a huge problem. When I finally asked Customer Service if they had any spray collars with a different type of battery, they directed me to the Elite Spray Bark Collar. When I got the collar they only had the one for little dogs, but it still works amazingly for my big dogs! It does all the same things as the rechargeable one except that it uses non-rechargeable batteries. These batteries last way longer than the rechargeable one though so it's a win-win! I highly suggest looking at the Elite Spray Bark Collars!!!NIKKI 😉
Supposed to have 35-45 sprays but it sure didn’t. We put the collar on him and angled the camera so we could watch him and try to train him to stop. He barked and it sprayed. He continued to bark. It continued to spray. It shut off like it’s supposed to. We went in and the whole place smelled like citronella. We walked back out after trying to calm him. He barked and it sprayed. He kept barking and then it stopped spraying and started flashing that it was out. The. Citronella cartridge only had maybe 5-8 sprays. We had to leave for a few hours that afternoon and we put the unscented cartridge in. After being gone for only an hour or two it was empty as well. We watched video of him and he continued to bark through the sprays. It had no effect. However, it also only had maybe 10ish sprays in it total. The cartridges aren’t worth the money as they don’t have what they are supposed to have in them. The collar was not worth the money as the spray didn’t even phase our dog. Maybe it works for others but it didn’t do anything for us apart from leave a citronella smell in the air for a few minutes.MarkD504
For starters I am not a person who usually leaves reviews but this product deserves it! I bought two of these collars for my two of my noisier dogs. I have tried everything to control their barking – trying to distract them with treats, spraying them with water to correct the behaviour, using high frequency clicker and using a training collar that I would beep if they barked as a warning and then it would vibrate if they barked again. None of these worked so I gave up for a bit, until I saw this collar come up as I was researching new collars to try – I decided to give it a shot since it was different than the methods I have previously tried. My god, it is incredible! I put the collar on my noisiest dog, a terrier, (his barking is out of control) and he barked once and it sprayed him and he has not barked since – I went from having him bark at every little sound he heard outdoors to peace and quiet. I love this product and I highly recommend it! P.S. It also works for my other dog, my terrier just gets her hyped up with his barking but now they are my quiet little hellhounds 🙂lbll12

My Boston Terrier of 9 years never barked in her life. We got a rescue and those days are over. Now she barks at everything, even more than the rescue. I bought an inferior product that didn’t work at all. So I invested in the Barkless 504. Well she will bark through the stimulation, even with the longer sensors and set to the highest L9. This collar did not work properly. It would do static correction when my dog was quiet and the bark counter didn't even register a single bark when he was barking like crazy. I tried to get it to work properly for 3 days before returning for a refund (that I had to pay shipping for both ways). It was very disappointing, especially when I was told 'there was nothing wrong with the collar'. (Yes, it was fitted correctly.) This collar is no good for very fluffy dogs. First, this product works when used according to directions. My dog is a 7 lb malti-poo and all the other collars are too big for little dogs. The collar made her yelp the first few times it gave corrections, which scared us a little bit, but it seems that it doesn't really hurt them because now the first correction doesn't make her yelp after she got used to being corrected. I think it just scared her the first few times. But be prepared for that if you have a very small dog. Within a few days the barking was already under control, she barks once (or not at all), and then just growls a little bit. She has learned to keep it under the radar. We took the collar off for a few days and the learning seems to carry over. I think it will take a few months to make permanent, but it is definitely working. The only problems with this collar are that it is still somewhat big for a 7 lb dog and tends to move around on her neck quite a bit. It is difficult to prevent it from moving without making it too tight. But I still think this is the best out there for this size dog. The battery dies very rapidly in the beginning when they are learning. So order a spare from the beginning, if your dog barks a lot you will only get a few weeks out of the first battery. I have a bigger 4 year old silky terrier about 20 lbs which I adopted about 6 months ago from the city kennel. I figured out pretty quickly he didn't like the mailman, passersby the front window, squirrels, birds, parked cars, anything and everything. He destroyed the wood trim on my front window trying to get at everything. Needless to say he was a handful. I tried the can with coins, squirt bottles, happy shhhs, treats, toys to distract him, just about everything to no avail. So one of my clients suggested the citronella spray no bark collar. At first I thought that's something I don't really want to do to him, because he is small. Finally I had it, went out and bought the citronella spray no bark collar. It started shooting out citronella for no reason…so I packed it up, took it back, paid the extra and got the little dog static no bark collar…I am sooooooooo glad I did. THIS PRODUCT WORKS GREAT. Initially I felt horrible, but there had to be a line drawn and my sanity and home have been saved. He is a completely different dog. Well behaved, calm, chews his Kong and relaxes with no barking. I initially had to test it out with the mailbox, went out of sight, opened and slammed it loudly so he could hear. He started barking, then yelped a little. By the 3rd time he was sitting there. The collar worked brilliantly, if you're not concerned about your 12-pound dog jumping about two feet in the air and letting out a screeching yelp that's louder than his bite. This is exactly what happened with our dog; he was obviously given a very painful jolt. He barked once, and then KABLAM! (We immediately took the collar off.) So the product might actually "work," but the intensity of the jolt was way too much for our dog. (Spare me any conjecture that this should be considered normal.) Looking at the specs for this product, it's intended for "small dogs" that are "55 pounds or less." Since when is a 55-pound dog considered "small"? My guess is that the collar is not very well calibrated for smaller dogs — in the 5-15 pound range. We've been using this bark collar on our German Shepherd and it's working! He barks at everyone out the front window or while on car rides and his bark is very loud. I've tried other collars in the past that give off a beeping noise and can be controlled by a remote control, but that beeping sound scares my mini poodle too much so we had to stop using it. I was excited to try this collar knowing it releases a different type of sound. So far it distracts the GSD and works to deter him from barking. The best Bark collar I have seen ever. I repair tech products and can see quality in this device. However, my dog completely ignores it. My dog is an English Shepherd breed, with strong herding instincts that completely override the noise and the shocks. Sorry guys. I am sure other dogs may comply. I bought this collar a few months ago for my lab (85 lbs). It was easy to put on the dog, and it didn't seem to hurt him. It did slide but I think it was to big at first. the battery part I needed to remove but it worked after a few tries. It was effective for about 2 weeks and then I think the dog ended up tolerating the vibration. So now it doesn't work at all. This is the second collar I've tried . The first one lasted 2 days and worked great , then it wouldn't hold a charge ! So they sent me a knew one ,I plugged it in and followed the directions . The light was red , then when it turned green I unplugged it and flollowed directions and nothing happened . So guess this will go back also . Feeling angry !lynne reid
