Ok, so I wanted to rate this product 5 stars but I can't. Does the product kill the fleas? Yes. If you are looking for a quick fix, this is your product. I saw results immediately. However, I did have to use another tablet to kill the fleas (which was suggested on the box). This box came with 6 tablets. However, if you read the description on the product it says that results will not last more than 24 hours, meaning this is not a long term solution compared to NexGard. If you know for certain your dog is not going back to a flea area and this is just a quick fix, buy this. I would buy this for my cat since he's an indoor cat only. But I wouldn't use this for my dogs for long term use since I am always taking them to parks. So, if you''re looking for a quick fix, this is it. I ordered online last night and picked it up at Petco store this afternoon. It worked well for my dog(24 lb)! I needed something effective product to kill flea after unsuccessful flea shampoo and spray. I and my family got many flea bites as well. I gave my dog a pill tonight. I was expecting to see many fleas drop on the floor but it didn’t. However, 1 hour later I brushed her and found few dead fleas on her body. She is sleeping very well tonight without scratching. Works well and quickly. We crushed up the small pill and mixed it with a small amount of wet cat food. Our cat goobled it up. Within a few minutes, she was biting herself, licking, licking, licking. Clearly uncomfortable as the fleas died, but it worked and she feels so much better. Super thankful. We did repeat it a few days later. No biting or licking the second time. Thinking that the fleas were gone or greatly reduced.AKD

Here's my break down: 6:38: It was a little bit of a struggle to administer, even given the surprisingly small pill size, but he seemed to forgive me pretty soon after. If you have a nicer cat than mine, it shouldn't be an issue. 6:48: No big changes, his shoulder blade and chest area did feel a little extra warm, but that could be my own imagination. 6:58: Nothing new, keeping a close eye on him, but he just wanted to lay his head on my laptop. 7:08: The itching and biting starts. Supposedly, according to other reviews I've seen, as the fleas start dying, they start biting, meaning your cat will start itching at themselves more. So compared to other people's experiences, this is completely normal and fine. 7:18: Itching has mostly stopped, but he still has little bursts, as any cat with fleas does. He laid down for a nap. 7:28: Mostly normal, haven't seen any signs of dead fleas, but haven't flea combed either. His collarbone area still feels warmer than the rest of him. I googled this, but couldn't find anything online. 7:38: Back to itching. 8: He's napping quietly! 10:30: Everything seems normal! He's doing well! I tried to flea comb him earlier and only found one dead flea, but one is better than the none I was getting from frontline. 10 (the next morning): Everything is totally fine! I still catch him itching little spots, but i have no doubt he has bites all over him that itch 🙁 For the most part though, that's stopped. And I checked his spot on my bed today and there was no flea dirt! Normally I wake up to flea dirt and sometimes even eggs! Started with a fresh sheet last night and none of that! He's probably still got some flea dirt in his coat so I expect to see some throughout the coming week or so. I'll repeat this in about a week or two to make sure the fleas are really done for good considering this product only kills adult fleas. Overall, this seems to have worked! I know it will take upkeep, but for it being so fast acting, and don't have to struggle with baths or anything, this is pretty amazing. I have seen some reviews that say this product made their cat have some horrible side effects, and that was my biggest fear going into it which is why I wrote this review. But please please please, if you can save yourself the anxiety, check with your vet before administering. Just got an 8 week old 4/5 pound kitten, and saw he had fleas. Gave him a tablet and while I did notice after an hour he started scratching and itching and grooming himself like crazy, the fleas never died and never fell off. They are still alive crawling all over him. This product DOES NOT WORK. I obviously do not have an infestation because I have no other pets and just got this kitten yesterday. So do not try to reply to me saying it didn’t work because I have an infestation.Farmulous

Because of the climate in the location, we are living, fleas are a year-round problem. I have rescue cats and dogs which are not always in the greatest condition when they arrive. My Vet recommends Capstar to help control the fleas, before getting them onto a monthly flea treatment! One Capstar pill is only good for 24-36 hours, if needed I give the cats another pill to complete flea treatment. Crushing the pill and putting it in their favorite moist food did not work for me, they noticed the difference and refused to eat it!Dawn

My neighbors have cats and dogs and do not use flea preventative. With all the rain we've had in the past month, my 7 dogs are infested with fleas. 3 are allergic and very bills are outrageous!! This will hopefully alleviate some of the infestation.Tanya

I've used Capstar for years. It's very very safe. Fleas begin falling off in 30 minutes, but it takes a couple hours to get them all. You can give a second dose after 24 hours. First of all, NEVER diss the value of a vet check: your pet , cat or dog, has to be healthy enough for ANY correctly used flea remedies. Yes, vets need to stay in business and some of their prices are quite higher than some reputable online sellers offer. This product alone will not end your flea-festation if it is bad. Fleas spend only a tiny portion of their time on the animal- otherwise they're in your carpets, cracks, furniture, yards- but fleas do normally "dine" twice a day. Giving this oral pill once daily will START to deal with your problem, killing each flea that bites within 24 hours. Nitenpyram is used for both dogs and cats. * Once your cat is cleared for this medication, and weighs at least 3 pounds, it is cost saving to BREAK one 57mg( packaged for Dogs over 25 pounds) tablet into 4 quarters and use one of these quarters for a cat. The normal cat dosage is only 11mg/ the quarter is 14.25mg, not a substantial difference, in fact some vets sell this product this way- at $6-10 per quarter. You do the math. To truly "treat" a severe flea infestation will require your washing all pet bedding, treating carpets, floors, yards- each with diffetent products which each have very specific safety instructions for your pets and family and must be followed to the letter. i got these for my 85 lb dog. seems like it helps he doesnt itch as much after use. i see no fleas.i used the smaller sized dog 1 on my 10lb dog it worked too. you have to 30 day treat. i have 3 dogs and a cat all wear seresto collars but still got fleas somehow ,so since the collars allow to treat with topicals i used advantage plus on all 4. they still have fleas. im using these on top of all that and check my dogs weekly. keep coming up with 4 fleas on 1 dog and 8 on my cat. i dont understand why none of these products are working. the vet says fleas are immune. hows that possible?! id say if this doesnt seem to be working cause you see fleas it probably is but not killing the eggs so its repeat the process. plus do your house. rugs hardwood floors too. why the $80 topicalslhayes

Anyway, our other adopted cat has flea dermatitis and was breaking out in horrific sores as well as losing fur and being miserable. Our 3rd cat we are fostering for a friend and ended up losing fur too. We tried Diatomaceous Earth which controlled it, but no elimination. We finally ordered Capstar as a last ditch resort. So glad we did. Within 30min all 3 cats had immediate relief. We even picked up a few fleas who had fallen over dead. No adverse reactions in any of the cats to the medication. 4 days later…The dermatitis has cleared up in both cats. The outdoor cat had tapeworm I guess too, because those came running out his back end. Doing a second dose in a few days time. I have nothing but good things to say about this medication as my cats are all back to their normal selves personality wise. It has killed the existing flea population and we are ready and armed with Capstar for round 2!Linds03

My boxer loves everyone, including local friendly feral cats that sneak into her outdoor bed while she’s in at night. She would constantly get fleas and even worse were the sand fleas. The Capstar seems to be doing the job and her backside is looking better. Since I can’t pet or bathe the feral strays, I dosed some mackerel and they seem to be itching and scratching much less too. I dosed everyone again two weeks later and now just once a month. The Capstar seems to be keeping the fleas all under control. Just in case you are wondering, I’ve already trapped, spayed and neutered, then released all the feral cats I feed.Grumpy

We have 4 dogs and live in the country near the state line of Alabama and Tennessee. Our dogs have about an acre of fenced in land to roam free. Now mind you, the fleas were super bad this year. So we thought we'd give this pill at least two months of dosages to give it a chance. I feel so bad for one of our dogs. Our veterinarian has a zero tolerance flea policy for his Houston practice. Anytime we book an appointment, he gives all pets Capstar so they don't bring any fleas with them or take any home. Capstar is only effective for a number of hours, but during that time it kills all the adult fleas on the pet. This is particularly useful during severe infestations of yard or home, or after a visit to a flea riddled park. After a winter with no freezing weather, our yard was covered and the monthly prescriptions didn't seem to work. We had to treat the yard and find a new monthly treatment, but Capstar killed the adult fleas quickly, albeit only for a day, but that gave us a chance to vacuum and let the yard products work. This is an expensive, emergency remedy to manage or prevent infestation. One pill will only protect your pet for one day, so it's in addition to, not a substitute for other treatments, but it kills all the adult fleas unbelievably fast. They people we got our 2 newest rescues for give them both each a Capstar before we brought them home. Yes this product did work remotely quickly and they had no fleas after. But about 5 to 6 hours after giving it to both my younger cats (16 to 18 weeks at the time) they both had these fits almost like convulsions. They sprinted around in circles shaking, and meowing in pain. Eventually collapsing near me still shake terribly! I could tell how scared they were cause I held them thru the worst of it. They are both better now and growing up fine but I just caution anyone from trying this without atleast talking to you vet first. Not every medication is right for your animal.HollyHologram

This is a perfect product for me and my little fluffy dog. If she finds one flea, I pop in a tablet and no more fleas–none on my bed or her blankets either. They say this only lasts 24 hours, but it seems to last longer for us. If she was short-haired a quick bath would get rid of the fleas, but it wouldn't get them out of the blankets, and there is no such thing as a quick bath for a doggo as fluffy as she is! I can not rave enough about this product!! I have 5 fur babies. Two dogs and three cats. All are inside pets only, however, the dogs do have to go outside. I adopted my little guy from a neighbor who found a litter of stray kittens and took them into his home. When I took him home I noticed he was infested with fleas. His coat was covered in fleas. I knew that if I didn't get him treated that they would infest my home. I didn't know what to do so I took him to the vet. I had been struggling with a slight flea problem with my dog who is routinely treated with K9 ADVANTAGE II topical flea protection. After a vacation we came home with some fleas and my dog was scratching himself crazy. Topical meds were obviously not working. I tried vinegar and palmolive baths (with essence oils) there werent a lot of fleas but only a few are too many. Vaccuming and household sprays were not eliminating the tiny fleas i saw. I finally decided a medicated ‘dip’ was what i needed…found this shampoo at Walmarts and noticed it had a higher % of pyrethrins than anything else so i gave it a try. I followed the directions,used rubber gloves, lathered up good and let it sit about 7-8 minutes. I saw a few fleas wash off with the rinse….hours later my dog is sleeping peacefully and i cannot find even 1 flea no matter how hard i try. I love this shampoo! You only need a tiny amount to lather the whole dog and it doesnt smell horrible. If you have a flea problem try this shampoo (but dont forget your house must also be flea proofed).Fav

I really like that it uses a natural ingredient to kill the pests instead of a strange chemical that could endanger my pet or the environment. Make sure to keep out of the eyes as it will cause discomfort. Leave the lathered shampoo on for five minutes before doing a careful rinse. I have been battling fleas on my inside/ outside dog and 2 indoor cats. I have had little to no results with just about everything. I did my research and bought this shampoo based on reviews and that I could use it in both the dog and the cats. Both cats are older and I’m scared of the topical monthly flea meds. This seemed like a more harmless option. The first cat seems to have done well. My second cat started foaming at the mouth and drooling heavily. I immediately rinsed her and wrapped her in a towel. She seems to be recovering okay. I’m watching her closely. There were very few negative reviews but I just wanted to post my experience with it. And I’m all fairness it may very well be that she was so stressed by the bath that it was a stress reaction. I’m not sure. Just be aware and watch your pets closely for any signs of stress.Pamela

Beat stuff ever! We have three cats and after one went outside she got fleas and they quickly spread to her sisters. We tried chemical shampoo, but that made one of our cats foam at the mouth. Next we tried dawn, but getting three cats into the tub for a rinse left us with lots of scratches and scared cats. After doing a lot of research we came upon this and let me tell you it did the trick. Because two of the three cats sleep on my daughters bed we had to treat her bed as well as the cats. This stuff is the one and only thing we have found that works. The kitty who had them the worst has a flea collar to help but the other two have been treated with this and a flea comb. We have been using it for about two weeks now every other day with the flea comb, a bowl of hot water with dawn to clean the comb and a vacuum after to catch any who may have gotten away and two of the three cats were flea free today! My roommate used your product on my kitten, he has been extremely sick and lethargic all day. I used Dawn dish soap to wash off what I could of your product. I will hold him close to me all night and keep praying he doesn't die.

.So I bought this spray along with the natural care flea and tick shampoo. my poor pups had their first experience with fleas, i didnt know why they were scratching so much (it was also my first experience for fleas) but once i looked through one of my pups fur, i immediately saw three fleas. i went straight to walmart, got my products and treated my pups. i prepared a warm bath, dunked them both into the water, lathered them up really good, let it sit for 6 minutes and i rinsed them. in the bath water, i saw the fleas and i also saw a couple ticks that i didnt know they had lol. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND trying this, even if you hate minty smells, i would still give this product a shot. no more fleas, ticks, or annoying itching!!!Mikeesha

I have 6 cats total, 4 of them stay in the house all the time and 2 of them go in and out so I wanted some tick control too… so I baught 6 boxes of this, it works pretty good for flea control for about 3 wks, the tick control lasted about 2 wks on my cats. Before finding PetArmorPro I paid a TON of money each month (by using one of the big name brands that purchased from my Veterinarian) treating all of my pets. I was initially leery to switch brands, but I've been using this for 4 years now and my cats haven't had a single flea, tick, or mosquito. In order to use ANY flea product properly, pet owners need to understand the life cycle of fleas. Also, if your pet has a severe infestation with fleas and/or ticks, you may want to give your pet a bath with a QUALITY flea product prior to using this product. Wait a few days and THEN apply Pet Amor. The key to using this product is to use it regularly as a preventative method BEFORE your pet gets infested. I have been using it on my three small dogs for some time now. I especially like the fact that it controls chewing lice. The only downfall that I've noticed is that it seems to have less of an effect in the 4th week. Please, don't ever use any HARTZ products. Please google, "HARTZ kills". You will see thousands of pics of severely injured and dead cats and dogs. They have known it is an issue for decades but they are able to skirt the issue by using pesticides in their products instead of FDA monitored medications. I really liked these drops, I usually can just use the flea and tick collars, but for this last summer the collars weren't working. I got these drops and they did the trick. I will be getting these again for the summer.staci .b

I trust Hartz brand when it comes to preventing fleas and ticks. I know most people use flea chews but I don't see the need because this seems to work for me, I do not have carpet in my house which may be why I've not had any infestations. I have used this product on my Sheltie for 10 years, with her long hair I've never had a problem. It's just as effective as Frontline as it has the EXACT ingredients. If used properly it will work. I've been using petarmor for quite a few years now, and not ever an issue, would find a dead flea once in a while. now this new order I received, first dose and both my dogs are having anywhere from 4-7 fleas everyday on each of them. I've had my yard sprayed, I bathe my dogs regularly , they only go outside to potty. So i a at wits end with why the petarmor is not working !!! This product (when used faithfully) works! I’ve been using this product for nine years and no fleas or ticks. I briefly switched to the Plus and tried in the other expensive brand and my dog had a bad rash from whatever is in the Plus version in any brand. Oral pills make her sick. It's very distressing to find 3 happy engorged ticks on your dog 24 hours after treatment following all the requirements re: proper placement location on the dog, shaved the hair to make contact only on the skin, no water on the dog for 24 hours or at all after treatment. I was frankly, pretty shocked. This is an older small dog with arthritis. He is already in some pain and to find the ticks on him on top of this frankly really upset me. And they were not dead or dying. They were about to drop off likely after laying eggs on my dog. It used to work and now it does not–at all. I will require a refund.Dog Mom245

I breed Chihuahuas and I also foster cats/kittens. My Chihuahuas are litter box trained so they rarely get fleas because they dont spend a whole lot of time outside. Even when we go for walks, theyre in a dog stroller lol. Anyways… I fostered a litter of kittens that were found outside and covered in fleas. I gave them all dawn baths because they were too small for any flea medicine and my Chihuahuas ended up with fleas. I needed a product that was safe for pregnant/ nursing mama which frontline is. Finally something that works consistently. After trying probably 10-15 brands of flea and tick stuff for my Dogs this is the company I come back to. Ive tried expensive stuff, Ive tried dirt cheap stuff. This works and works FAST. I actually have to put my dogs out if they have fleas on them at all. Within 30 minutes they are jumping off to get away and die. Weve had issues with super fleas here in northeast USA where the only thing Ive found to work is old fashion dawn dish soap and salt.Ive literally spread salt on all my floors so it looks like snow and left it sit over night then vacuum it up and then mop with dawn dish soap, everyday for over a week straight. This stuff not only took care of the fleas on the dogs and cats but the ones in the house would jump on the dogs would die to. Havent had an issue since.Corvet08

The seller was very good, very fast delivery. The product did not work as directed. I was warned not to make the solution stronger than recommended as it could harm my dog I used the remainder to spray her pen in a stronger solution and then kept my dog away from the area for several days.susie581
