So even though I had the dimensions it was still WAY smaller than I thought it would be. I'm not sure what I expected. The actual dog house is a very good size for my 14 (a little overweight) Dachshund. It was hard for him to get up the stairs, I don't know if that's his weird body, short legs and long torso or it's just oddly small. I also changed the stairs from the direction its in to the a straight direction off the top. there was no way he was getting down the way they have it set up, makes no sense! it is beautifully made and I think It's a great house. Very easy to put together. I love it, I just hope my dog gets used to those stairs. time will tell.shellmell
This was super easy to put together and follow the directions; although I am a very handy person. I love it, it looks great on my patio for my little puppy and gives him a nice spot to rest and hide out in the shade. On warmer days, it did not feel hot inside, HOWEVER, I live in a place with very moderate temperatures (72 with a breeze most days). So in a warner climate you may want to purchase one of their dog house fans available on this site!!! As I hope you can see in the photo, my little guy enjoys his space! Side note: as far as the other reviews about the stairs being flimsy… I disagree. As long as you screw in all three screws for the stairs and don't attempt to drag this across and yard or surface, the stairs are very sturdy. I have a 16 year old cat that decided to live outside on our patio earlier this year. I have no idea why. She refuses to come in and when I force her to come in she poops on my shoes (ugh). I live in Southern California so it's not real cold but nights in orange county can get pretty chilly. I have bought her 3 little houses/beds and she refuses to go inside them. This was my last attempt/purchase. It was easy to put together by myself. I did not assemble the "upper deck portion or stairs". I did not screw in the roof either, this works perfectly for me. I can lift the roof off & on for easy access. It's quite snug and fitted when in place but easily lifts off. She's too old to use the stairs and would never use the deck portion. I have it on my patio in a corner under the overhang. She LOVES it!! I put her blanket inside with her pet heating pad (Amazon 19.99) under her blanket and she is in heaven. I lift off the roof every couple days to shake out her blanket and check her heating pad and she's always curled up napping. I am thrilled and now sleep knowing she's warm, comfortable and dry. I had purchased this crate and I had found the design exactly what I was looking for. So I have bought 2 more and I plan to purchase 2 more soon. I would not choose another brand or style by the same manufacturer because it performs just as I need. My only suggestions are that the crate has a 4 door option and that the tray can be optionally removed from the side. My only complaint is that the instructions to set up the crate were not clear. We bought a larger crate 6 months ago that housed 3 small dogs and 2 cats for 3 days while we drove across country. For several months the 3 dogs shared it at night (the cats found another place to sleep). Recently, we decided to separate the 2 older dogs from the younger and bought 2 of the medium sized crates. The "travel crate" was folded and put away in the laundry room for the next time we travel with all our babies, and we stacked the 2 medium crates. I will say when I was looking for a duck house I spent countless hours looking for the perfect option. Florida weather and sun does wonders to things outside. I came across this house and it just stood out. When it arrived and I was dreading assembling because let’s be real directions suck! Their directions were actually awesome and the build was a breeze! However our poor ducks only got to enjoy this for a couple weeks before we had the worst Hurricane in history make landfall right through our backyard! Our ducks coop was destroyed when a tree landed on it. I was devastated their brand new house was all in the mangled mess. However upon inspections in the aftermath of the hurricane I would say this house was more solid than our own. It withstood a Cat 4 pushing Cat5 Hurricane with what appears as to be minimal damage. Heck the duck house roof held on better than our own house did! The duck house has a couple shingles that came off and the front porch ripped off but the outter shell held tight! 10/10 recommend this house for any outdoor need! This house is so cute I bought it for my 34 lb English Cocker Spaniel named Jackson. Jackson thinks he is a rock star in it! He loves it and all the neighbors thinks it is just as cute as can be. I laid a brick foundation for it and placed it on that. It was worth the money however it was a little difficult putting the hinged roof on so I just screwed the whole roof down tight. I live in hurricane country so the last thing I would have wanted was the wind lifting the one side of the roof up and ripping it off. It was pretty straightforward in assembling the sides and back of the house/ One word of caution, put it together outside. I assembled it inside and had to take the roof off to get it out the door no matter which way I turned it.Paula

My 4-year-old daughter can not get enough of her newly adopted Golden Retriever, "Pawsy." The Little Tikes Rescue Tales Golden Retriever is a toy that will absolutely tug at your little one's heartstrings! My daughter loves that this pup came ready to go in his cardboard dog house– and LOVED turning his house inside out and coloring it. She loves interacting with this pup in her vet center. The Little Tikes Rescue Tales Golden Retrieve is really well-constructed and super cute with his large blue eyes and customizable collar. Each pup comes with a little adoption certificate so you can claim him and also give him a name. We have so much fun watching him wag his tail, pant and bark in excitement! My family and I have a white bichon frise who we love dearly! When I came across this soft and cuddly little tikes rescue tale I thought it would be cute for my daughters, especially since it resembled our dog. The dog has really soft fur and it perfectly sized for kids especially toddlers. The heating pack is a great addition as it adds the extra warm and cuddly feeling. With that being said I agree with the paper insert that was included in the box as a warning on how to properly handle the heating pack because it does get hot. Once inside the pet it takes a few seconds for it to distribute the heat but isn’t as hot since it’s protected with layers. It kinda has a wet/moisture feel to the fur, especially on the torso, but my daughters still enjoyed it. As my older son was starting school again this year, I got this for my younger son to help him cope with the seperation. I ordered the Golden Retriever because we had to say goodbye to our sweet fur baby a few months back. He was so excited to open it and decorate the dog house it came in. It has a cute collar and a big head with giant puppy eyes. This toy has a happy and sad mode. The happy makes a licking noise and the sad whimpers. I wish that it had just one more that whimpered at first and then made the licking sound. Truth be told with it on one mode it makes the same noise and gets annoying to the adults pretty fast. My cat Shelby loves this house, she sleeps on the top and the bottom it's like 50/50 she loves both. This is a great product, easy to assemble – looks adorable and everyone who comes to my home loves it. The box was pretty beaten up but the house was in good condition. It's cedar which smells nice and is a soft enough wood that you can assemble it with a screwdriver. It came together in an hour or so and only required one person. It's light enough to carry and the instructions are clear. We have it inside for our dog to get used to it but it's going outside. We just got ours 2 days ago. It was deklivered by UPS during the aftermath of hurricane Ida. The UPS man needed help unloading it and when I actually got it out of the weather I noticed the box was damaged. Got the wife to come and take pictures of the damage as I unpacked it. It wasn't actually too bad except for the roof being cracked, but not beyond what I can possibly repair. Multiple places there are either screws lost or obvious cracks in the material. I will repair it as well as I can and then trrow a few coats of Epoxy paint on and IN it to protect the wood. The kennal itself was in stock and went together easily. As my pups will be spending only a few hours in it I decided to keep it and repair it. I know there are at leaast 10 screws and bolts missing because the hardware packet was partially opened and some parts had obviously fallen out of the shipping container.Bogey1
I give five stars because for the price I believe it is a nice dog house. Steel framing seems sturdy and it comes with a composite floor that will not rot. I found it easy to put together, but I could see how others may not think it is easy. Parts labeled very well and squared up well on assembly. I recommend putting together on flat concrete and only move after installing after all self tapping srews are in place. Only negative thing I would have to say is that the walls are a little thin for my liking. I feel they could be a little thicker. Also i like how it attaches to the retriever kennel. Other than that, great buy!DoggE
This dog house is a huge waste of money. I plan on returning mine today. First off, the wooden panels are paper thin and the floor will bow under little weight. I'm actually afraid my dog would chew out of the house very quickly. There were some parts of the instructions that didn't say which way smaller parts should be facing, and you would go through all the trouble to put it together then find out that one small part had to be flipped, but the instructions were not clear about some parts. I rebuilt this dog house probably 5 times because parts just didn't fit well at all for some reason. Oh and you DO need a drill because part of it want's you to drill screws through the metal frame because for some reason the holes were not included in the frames? The metal frame is cheap and easily bends under little weight. The only reason I even got this doghouse is because I have the retriever kennel that goes with it. Do yourself a favor and get a better quality dog house or build a good one yourself.James009
