I had to filch the D ring from the old collar and put it on the new one, but with the thickness of the leather, the new ring is not big enough to hold a leash clip either. When our pup graduated from the XXS to the XS/S size, I looked for the same collar. He's a mini Aussiedoodle, and I know a nylon collar would cause knots in his hair and rub his neck raw. This size isn't as lightweight as the XXS, since the buckle's a bit bigger, but he adjusted to it without a problem. I love the feel of the suede; it's thinner than the other leather collars, and though it's said to be gray, both collars have, in a few days, turned nice brownish color that match our dog perfectly.Painty hands

This collar is so classy looking, and the leather seems really durable. I got a size medium for my 35lb blue heeler/rottweiler mix dog and it is a tad big but she is 10 months so may grow into it slightly. Right now I have it on the tightest spot and thankfully you can tuck the excess belt length into the ring, however it does make clipping her leash to it a little more difficult but I'm getting used to it. I'm sure she will grow into it slightly more in the next few months. If you take your dog's leash on and off frequently I would maybe not recommend this as it goes on like a belt would, and it is more complicated to get on and off than a snap buckle collar.KayleeMichele

I bought this because I thought this would be a cute collar for Valentine's Day and Christmas, and while it is cute, I doubt that I would attach the leash onto this collar because I fear the leather may give out. I would only let my dog wear this as an accessory (fashion over function) because he can be a strong puller on the leash. I have no idea how they decided how to size these collars, but they are MASSIVE. I originally bought a large for my 45lbs springer spaniel, and that was absurdly big, even though she's well within the "average weight range." So, I exchanged it for a medium. This one is still honestly too big for her. I have it on the tightest buckle and I can fit both my hands, all the way to my palms, under the collar. Definitely way looser than the "2 finger" rule. She really should be wearing a small, but I don't want to exchange again. So, as said, the collar is adorable, but the sizing is outrageously too large. They should readjust the weight averages since I imagine a lot of people, including me, rely on that due to not having a body measure tape.AprilAnne1
