This ad is for a set of plans/instructions we built and sold this dog house for almost ten years. we no longer build them but after several requests from jealous dogs all across the country we have decided to put together a set of plans/instructions. this pdf document is not just a couple of pages of dimensions. it documents the building process that i have developed over years of building this basic design. i tell you how to go about building the house to achieve the best finished results. anyone with the ability to saw up common lumber and sheet stock can complete this project. of course, if you want the aluminum cladding this will require extra equipment and skills. the roof could be finished with shingles and the other trim done with off-the-shelf alum. angle or wood corner moldings. if you buy these plans you are more than welcome to contact me with any questions you might have. these plans include dimensions for both our large and small houses. the plans are in pdf file format. free file viewers are readily available description from our dog house ad. the paul henry dog house has been designed and built to house your dog comfortably year-round. the house is built on a solid wood frame with 1½" foam insulation sandwiched between a 3/8" exterior wall covered with a high-quality exterior coating and a ¼" interior wall. the roof and floor are also insulated with 1½" foam. a windscreen is included over the door opening to help block drafts and pests from entering. the screen has been treated with a bitter apple solution to deter chewing. this construction makes for a very cozy lair for your dog to curl up in. the roof, corners, and door opening have been clad in aluminum to deter chewing and chain wear. the feet on the house are made of pressure-treated wood to prevent rotting and they can be removed and replaced if necessary. the roof of the house has a shallow slope and provides a nice place that dogs seem to enjoy snoozing on. the roof is also removable for easy cleaning and bedding replacement. the standard house fits dogs up to 70lbs. the large house is for dogs over 70lbs. or can be used for two or more smaller dogs rooming together. the size and construction of these houses make it easy for your dog to heat up the interior and keep it warm. this will save you money on dog food because your dog will have to burn fewer calories to keep warm. the plans have dimensions for two sizes: standard w29.5" x d24" xh21" (inside dimensions) an area of 8.6cf and a hole size of 10" x 14" large w33.5" x d28.5" x h23.5" (inside dimensions) an area of 13cf and a hole size of 12" x 16"
