Big Barker Large Dog Bed For Sale (2024 Update)

I bought this two weeks ago for the back of my car. My 12 year old, 100 lb, rescue hurt herself in the ice a few months ago and we have twice a week visits for physical therapy. She always lays with her back half in the back of the suv and her front half on the area in between the front seats. The first time we used the new mat, she did just as usual for about 2 minutes, then scooted herself back onto the barker mat!! She loves it and we love that she gets up and out of the car easier! We love all our Big Barker products and more importantly the dogs rest easier and get up easier. A huge improvement in overall mobility for the 12 year old fur baby!! Thanks for a great product!!Lyd

After purchasing 3 of your beds, i knew i had to get one for my Suburban. We lost 3 of our dogs this year due to age/illness, so we now only have one lab left. (Just explaining why i have 3 beds) I didn’t realize the bed would make that big of a difference in my Labrador’s comfort level while riding in the car until I purchased the SUV edition. My lab, Sugar Pie, suffers from hip dysplasia and arthritis, but she loves riding along wherever we go. I put a dog bed in the car, but she continued to move around in discomfort during the rides. I took her on an hour ride to her holistic vets office Friday, and she did not move a muscle! I had to keep calling her name and craning my neck back at stop lights to be sure she was ok, as i was not used to her being so relaxed! She was fine, and subsequent rides over the weekend proved it. She was completely relaxed. I never knew that she was so uncomfortable all these years. I am telling everyone i know about this SUV bed along with our Big Barkers we have at home. We bought this cargo bed for our senior girl who loves to go on trips with us! We wanted to provide more comfort while traveling and this bed has gone above and beyond what we could have dreamed! We have a new car so protecting the sides of the cargo area was important. This bed has big side ‘wings’ that not only protect the vehicle but provide even more comfort for our girl. It came SO quickly after we ordered it and was vacuumed packed. Took only a few short hours to come to fully form and there were no smells or odors while it was filling out. The description and specs on the website made it super easy to purchase the right size! I definitely recommend measuring still but even so, they had my sub listed so I knew it would be a good fit. It ended up being perfect and we are so happy with this purchase, we will be getting a new bed for the home for her!! Having peace of mind knowing our girl is comfortable and it is helping her joints made this an easy purchase!! We highly recommend this brand and company, especially if you have medium to large breed dogs!! You won’t regret it! This is by far the BEST dog bed ever, especially for my two Great Danes. It fits perfectly in the crate I have, and both dogs actually choose to sleep in the crate when it’s in there because they love it so much. It supports over 300lbs of their body weight without crushing at all. I’ve bought other expensive dog beds, but nothing even comes close to this one. I also love the waterproof liner that they sell for this bed so that it stays fresh and clean underneath. Next I’ll be looking at getting their SUV travel bed!jennifer.j

One of my great danes is 7 1/2. He threw out his poor old back a day before I ordered this bed it was absolutely awful to see him hurt so bad. It was his old bed. I ordered this after his vet appointment and I was relieved to see big barker shipped it the same day, the Friday before memorial day. Memorial weekend passed and we got it on Tuesday. I also want to mention that I appreciate a product made in the US, I buy what I can American made. He laid on it for a few days and then quit and then I realized it was because it didn't smell like his stinky old blankets that he enjoys so much, so after I put his favorite smelly blanket on the bed he took to it immediately. We got the XL with 1 side that has a pillow. He hasn't seemed to care about the pillow much so he avoids it. Only one dane can fit on the bed but he is a big beefy euro dane. I absolutely plan on ordering again for our 2nd great dane but getting the flat XL version, maybe swapping them out for the boys. Reggie my injured dane was hand raised by me with love, he was a rescue that I fostered at 2 weeks and we fell in love with him so we were fortunate to be able to adopt him. I used to kangaroo him because he was so small and ill he couldnt retain his own body temp. So safe to say I love my dogs like they're my own children. Very glad I decided to give it a shot. It was expensive but so is an emergency vet appointment with a hurt back. Well worth the money if it makes his final years earthside comfortable.Jessi

It's been 3 years since I first experienced a Big Barker that was generously donated to a special needs dog at the rescue where I work in Missouri. 18 mo. later we bought one for our 80# Akita/Shepherd Knarly after I saw how that donated bed stood up to the wear and tear of daily shelter use. That was 18 mo ago. We lost him in February to what looked like cancer, but it was a fast end to a big life full of adventure. He loved this thing. I love this thing. It kept me from waking up every 40 minutes when he got uncomfortable crammed onto our queen sized memory foam mattress (we're not small people either) and hopped stiffly down to the carpet, then got back up with us a little while later. I miss the big, comfortable sigh he'd give us every night once his chin hit the pillow. And he slept HARD, with his bad leg hanging off the side. I miss our dog. The bed's still going strong under our 60# pit mix, though. He likes to hang his rear end off, elbows on the bed, and stretch his back legs out with his toes all spread out, then belly crawl the rest of the way onto it, draped over the middle of it. Pitties are weird. At least mine's weird and comfy! I think, nostalgia aside, what's impressed me the most is that there's NO WEAR to this bed, the foam *or* the cover. Other than the seasonal shedding fur right now, it looks like it did the day I took it out of the box. I can't find human products that stand up to the beating our dogs give things, so I feel like I've gotten my money's worth out of this bed already. Knowing it's designed for 10 years of use just means I've invested in all of my dogs' health for a good while longer. I'm here today getting a Lg Sleek for our Rottie mix's crate. To get a halfway decent bed, it’s usually about $150+, and I’m still disappointed. The memory foam is thin or goes flat. Some beds actually have thick foam, but they’re not memory foam, and they’re too dense and firm. The last bed I bought said that it was 5” thick with dual foam. It seemed nice enough when I sat on it, but exactly a year later, when I laid on it for an hour, my joints were all killing me. I felt almost like I had been lying on the floor. Every review said that this was hands down the best bed. I was really looking for something more in my budget, but I couldn’t find anything even half as good as this one, and I had just paid $180 for the other one, and had to replace it after a year! If I had bought this one a year ago, my pup would be happier, and I wouldn’t be buying another, so it’s a sound investment. I didn’t really have the money for it right now, and didn’t want my dog to have to wait for a new bed, but then I read that they offer Affirm, which acts like a payment plan! So I could have the bed now! I was sold. OMG, I’m so glad I bought it. This bed says it’s 7” thick. The old bed said 5”, but the Big Barker is at least twice as thick as the old one! I don’t know if the Big Barker measurements are modest, or if the other bed’s were inflated, or if that’s how flat it went over the year or what, but the Big Barker immediately exceeded my expectations. It’s super comfy – the right amount of support and squish. My dog is happy. It’s the best quality bed I’ve ever bought. If you’re thinking about it, just do it. This thing is going to last. Two things I would change, though. One, I wish the covers were available in green. My dog has become incontinent, so I wish that the outside cover was waterproof. I know they sell a waterproof membrane for the inside, which is good. I wish there was an option for a super tough, durable, waterproof cover. One of the beds I had before had that, and rather than having to constantly remove the cover, wash, and replace it, I could leave the whole cover on, and soap/hose it down really quick. It was also chew resistant (not a problem in my house, but sure kills two birds with one stone). Anyway, it’s fine, I wrapped the bed including the cover in a 6-sided waterproof encasement, and I have multiple waterproof blankets, so I layer one of those on the bed, and then put down a couple of washable waterproof pads too, so it’s protected. We received a beautiful dog bed. The cover was made well, really sturdy and easy to remove and clean. The bed insert was shipped well and a good fit. We’d had the bed a couple of weeks and the insert is starting to flatten out, but with a bit of rearranging it can be made a bit more comfy again.Lisa v.

My dogs love the Bowsers Diamond Series Microvelvet Donut Dog Bed (Large). Our intent was to have one dog sleep in this bed, but often our two Boxers both use it at the same time! Our dogs used to sleep in our bed and now they prefer to sleep in their dog bed in our bedroom. Thanks to the Bowsers donut dog bed, we are all getting a better night's sleep! We have owned this bed for a few years and it has held up fantastically. The cover is easy to remove and wash. Previously, I've purchased pillow dog beds. My dogs now prefer the donut style since they can rest their backs against the bolster or place their heads on top of the bolster. We usually put a blanket in the bed as well so they have it to snuggle with. Bowsers offers so many patterns, which makes it easy to find one to coordinate with your home décor. I must admit that I was hesitant to make such an investment on a dog bed, but I have absolutely no regrets about my purchase. This quality dog bed is worth every penny. Bowser makes good quality pet products. We already had one of these and bought a second so both dogs could have their own in the bedroom. The one we've had for a couple of years has held up fairly well, but you can see that the bottom is less cushy than the new bed. The bed is relatively easy to wash. I remove the cushion from the bolster prior to throwing it in the washer. Getting the bolster back in was a little tricky the first couple of times, but you get the hang of it. Have to stuff it as far into the corners as you can, and then start zipping it up, pushing the cushion in as you go.skareht

My dog, little whippet Bertie, adores his cozy cave. It’s high quality, strong and durable feel. The ortho mattress give is a sense of stability/firmness (while also soft) which I think adds to both the comfort and the durability- it I can’t see how it would go lumpy like some dog beds . Above all else it is just unbelievably perfect to little shivery lurcher/ whippet types. My boy loves burrowing in to get cosy for a deep sleep. But also peeping out and keeping an eye on goings on. I received my cozy cave but I received package poorly. The foam was ripped and the cave itself where the plastic piece is was already falling apart. I sent pictures and emailed the company and they responded immediately! They shipped out a new one right away. I received the new one and it was in perfect condition but the foam was different than the original one I received. It is working quite well so far. But if you have a Vizsla you would understand that they get in and hide in things aggressively by digging and burrowing… I’m afraid the sides of the cozy cave are not going to stay sewn together long because the the thread on the edge is weak… otherwise I LOVE IT BUT I know it can’t withstand the pressure on the edges of the opening of the cozy cave. Somehow they need to try and reinforce this better. It is very supportive and my dog loves it however. But I’m not sure if it is worth the price. Maybe next time I will have to do without the cozy cave and pick a different version because the support and comfort is great!Anonymous

Our dog went through a phase of trying to come into our bed almost every hour during the night but since we got the snoozer, he has been staying there till morning again! It takes a little persuasion to get him in there but once he’s in and cosy, he settles in! He’s a small Jack Russell sized dog (8kg) so we went for the Large based on the reviews of the small being quite small – he likes to sprawl! It works but would have opted for a Medium size if there was the option as it does take up a lot of space… worth it for a good nights sleep though! I have the non orthopaedic bed which has a thicker mattress , I was disappointed with the mattress of the more expensive orthopaedic bed so emailed Snoozer to return the item with the intention of reordering . I have returned the bed which costs £14 as it is a stipulation of snoozer to send it via recorded mail, I’ve emailed them on two separate occasions to ask if they have received the bed and about my refund but no response. However I am getting emails frequently to leave a review!? I would like a refund in a much better customer centred way as these products are lovely but expensive and the customer care doesn’t seem to reflect the company imagesarah T

This is the second Cozy Cave I have purchased, the original is 4 years old now and still as good as new but I have 2 chihuahuas who both love it and, although they can both fit in it, my little girl isn’t fond of sharing! Now they have one each. I have purchased other brands of snuggle beds which get some use but the Cosy Cave is the favourite, used on a daily basis. I have washed the original cover several times over the last 4 years and it is still in excellent condition. Would happily recommend the Cosy Cave 100%Vikki T

I'm ordering my second bed. This bed is exceptional! It's durable and indestructible! The first bed is over a year old and just worn out. My two Labradors sleep on this bed together every night. It has no zippers for them to pull, which is a huge bonus. There's not one tear, pull, hole, or loose thread anywhere on the bed. It's easy to vacuum, which we do every day, usually more than once a day. I throw it in the washing machine & dryer regularly and it holds up perfectly – no fabric twisting or pulling. It's just worn out at this point, so I'm ordering a new one. We've had dogs for decades and this is THE BEST dog bed we've every bought!CamoBedisGreat

Just got it about a week ago. If you don't have a chewer this bed is great. Unfortunately, I do, so he did manage to chew the bottom of the bed and pull out some of the cushioning. It looks great on top but the bottom is ruined. Holds up well to dirt and water. Wipes clean easily.2 pups

I purchased this to protect the mattress and the cover from dirt. My German Shepard mix loves running around when the sprinkler is on and she loves getting into dirt any opportunity she gets. Even when I wipe her down, she can still have some dirt on her belly in between her regular baths. I have the liner over the cover and I have a sheet over the liner. I wash the sheet and waterproof liner on an average of once a week (over 50 washes so far) and it is still like new. Getting ready to order the crate bed with cover and waterproof cover. She isn’t crated much unless absolutely necessary but use the current crate bed in the car or when we go out of town. Tired of replacing the crate beds as I ruin them after a few washes. I believe buying the Bihar barker crate would be more comfortable and cheaper in the long run as I would be easily able to wash the waterproof cover. I will put the waterproof on top of the cover and then a sheet.Furmom

I didn’t or shall I say couldn’t imagine the difference one of these liners would make on the bed but it does….1) it protects the foam from any type of moisture related issues, 2) it makes the cover go on so much easier so that it doesn’t get “ hung” up on foam as you maneuver it, 3) not that it was ever an issue but it seems to shape the bed out better. I have two large Dalmatians. One thinks he is a lab so always wet from drinking water. They both shed super heavy in white snow so I have to vacuum beds daily and that is where the liner seems to make the cover a better fit and firmer. Highly recommend this product. I am not a seamstress but sew and the quality of workmanship is very good. Seams and zipper top notch. This is priced so reasonable it is well worth it to protect your pups fantastic bedDalgal

Shadow, my 80 pound Lab mix, just turned 14. Thanks to his Big Barker, he is almost as fluid as he was as a young dog. I purchased his BB about 4 years ago and noticed an immediate improvement in his gaits and willingness to play and participate in strenuous activities. He exhibits almost none of the stiffness or discomfort shown by dogs half his age. He's flexible, happy, and still able to jump into the back of my Prius without help. His bother Smokey, who was owned by a friend, passed away over a year ago. He never had an optimal diet or the benefits offered by sleeping on a Big Barker and always seemed much older than his chronological years. I purchased a second BB to keep at my pet sitter's house so Shadow doesn't need to sleep on a thin, inadequate bed when he stays there. No matter how long I'm gone, I know he'll be comfortable on his Big Barker. (For that matter, so is my pet sitter's cat and a Yorkie who she sometimes cares for.Lucie47

I bought this for my lab-ish dog who is getting up there in years and isn't as comfortable on the floor. She LOVES it! It is big enough that she can sleep in a ball or stretch all the way out. The memory foam in the bottom takes 24 hours to expand before it goes in the bed. it is so thick and high quality. My dog likes to lay her head on things when she sleeps, so the bolster around the edges is really handy. My smaller dogs like to share it. I am really pleased with the bed, so are the dogs!Kaitlyn

Very thick padding on bottom of bed. It is actually several inches thick. Even with me sitting in it, I can't feel the floor. I think this would be great for older dogs due to the thick padding on base. The padding comes separate from the bed and when you unroll it, it increases in size. To assemble it, you just zip it in the bottom. The bottom base is rectangular and covers the whole entire bed at the bottom so no part of your dog is ever touching the hard ground. The bed is surrounded by thick bolsters and pretty flexible that the sides will move out if you dog wants to curl up or if they touch against the sides. My dog likes to use the side cushions as a head rest. I got the medium size for my dog who is a ~33lbs Shiba Inu. He's pretty big for his breed but it fits him perfectly when he decides to roll up in it and also he likes sleeping in it with his head up. Overall, its a great dog bed for a dog that likes to be snugged up and I think would be very supportive if your dog had hip/joint issues. I can see my dog using this a lot in the winter months and as he gets older.Autumn

My dog loves this orthopedic bed! We've tried a lot of different beds, but he loves the extra big cushions on this one. My dog is small (about 8 pounds), but I opted for this Medium size for him to be able to stretch out when laying on his side. It feels really high-quality, but still lightweight enough to move around the house. My dog likes to lounge in it during the day, but also snuggles up in it at night! I would highly recommend this for any small to medium sized dog who either likes to curl up against cushions for a safe feeling, or ones that like to rest their head on top of pillows.Victoria
