Reviews:
After thoroughly researching high quality tents, this was the only one fully meeting our needs : at least 4 person but not ridiculously large, head room for standing up, vestibule for rainy camps, two doors both with option to open up to mesh. This tent is outstanding! Durable floor fabric, lots of pockets for storage, easily set up by two people, packs easily into compartmentalized backpack style bag. Inside stayed completely dry after a day of heavy downpour and enough room for the 3 of us inside and out. Highly recommended!Tako11
We bought this tent for a ten day car camping trip. It’s perfect. Not too big and not too small. Easy to set up. I particularly love the “welcome mat” and vestibule. We were fortunate to be camping where there were no mosquitos and left the flaps open for maximum air circulation.Sikaufman
Got it a month ago for the big family camp. Had to work tho but for the 3 available weekends. It went up, and down. fast and easy. The zippers are smooth and the fly went on and off as easy. And kept it very dry. Grand view of the stars with the fly off. All around awsome. The also nailed it with the storage bag!!! Perfect for those who have limited space but are still car camping.DesertRat87

Reviews:
This tent is roomy and easy to set up, we were stoked to take it out! Unfortunately THE FIRST TIME we took it out the floor tore. There was a decent gust of that blew the tent over. The fact that it blew over is fine, because we didn’t have the guylines out, however we had a couple duffles in the tent and the floor ripped around one. There were also a few tiny holes from ??!? We were shocked. Definitely expected the floor to be more robust given the price we paid for it. Wanted to love it, but overall, disappointed.Jerimiah Lamb
My wife and I were looking for more space after our first camping trip with our 6mon old in the Copper Spur 3. In that trip we discovered that everyone was much happier with the little one safely confined in his travel crib and that my delusion of a one-tent-for-all trips was naive. So we decided to go bigger. And since we're going big, might as well go Big. I'm glad we did. I spent some time researching the competition and was trying to decide between the Orbit 6, Wawona and the Big House. Frankly, the looks didn't impress at first (Marmot gets my nod there). All are similar in size and are arguably close in build quality. What was the deciding factor for us was the optional vestibule (with optional being the key word). My wife also liked that there was a separate fly (vs. the Wawona) for star-gazing on dry nights. So, we cried (in theory) once and made our purchase. We spent a week in the Smokies at Deep Creek with the Big House 6 and its vestibule. Overall, we were thrilled with the space. It was luxurious. It was amazing to be able to come in at night, stand up (6' 1) while I got ready for bed: put away my headlamp in the upper mesh pocket, go over to my duffle (all of our luggage fits), change, etc without having to disturb the entire tent. In addition to the travel crib, a Hikenture double sleeping pad (also a new addition and total game-changer), and our three and a half bags, a walkway in the center, we even had space for a small camping chair so my wife could privately feed our son….(insert mind-blown emoji here). In the vestibule, we'd store our chairs and a travel table for the little one when we were away or at night to keep them secure and dry. But you already probably suspected the space would be there…so here's my take on the other stuff…. Ease of assembly is good. It did rain (daily afternoon shower) and we kept dry. Breathability is acceptable. It's not quite as breathable in hotter temps as the Wawona (don't ask me how I know), but I expected that and it does have the benefit of a sealing off the vestibule (I suspect this tent will be more comfortable in dusty and cold conditions). I did struggle with the zipper a bit on the front door; BA tout their weather flaps on their zippers and though I do ultimately think it's a good thing, I found that it loves to get caught up in the zipper… even at one point in the middle of the night managing to put a visible loop offset in the zipper (much to the delight of my wife who, despite the prospect of having an inoperable front door, thought this 5m middle of the night struggle was primo entertainment). I can say that the zipper is durable because after exhausting all other options, I pulled on the thing as hard as I possibly could and managed to free and resolve the issue. So all's well that ends well? With care (and probably some improved guy tensioning), this is an avoidable issue. One other thing to note: this tent is huge…so presume you're taking up the entire tent pad with this one; we went border to border on the pad front to back and took up about 80% side to side. Aside from a few minor gripes, I suspect this tent will serve us well for years to come.jmarin
Was finally able to get out and use my tent. Awesome. Very easy to set up(even tho idiot owner didn't use directions) Very roomy and can fully stand without hunching over. I would highly recommend this tent and plan to add the vestibule soon as well. Zippers work very well and I like the way the doors are located for easy in and out movements. Great buy!!Kyle13

Reviews:
I bought this tent simply based on the full sized rain fly that most family sized tents do not have. It did not disappoint! 2” of rain in four hours and not a single leak! Lot’s of room inside. Definitely a 2 person job to put up, but color coordination poles and loops make it easy to figure out. Only drawback was the cheap tent stakes that came with it. Replaced with aluminum four sided stake’s.Brian

Reviews:
I don’t know anything about the instructions being wrong, but there is a tag in the bag that has four possible setups (one which would require an optional footprint). The setup I chose is the full gazebo and there was mention of one loop that I don’t believe exists. That said, I felt the unit was extremely intuitive and easy to set up and down (the first time is a learning curve, but after that, it goes up and down like any backpacking tent – albeit a lot bigger). I’ve put this thing through the paces this year. Torrential rain, massive storms with high winds, and it handled it all flawlessly. I double staked the stakeholes, and try to see if there’s a nearby tree to tie a guyline to a tree with an anti slip knot (this is just a “me” thing because it guarantees a wind can’t put it in the lake), but tying the guyline hasn’t been necessary, yet does show the product gives you options. There’s less wind flow moving through it than I’d have expected due to the high quality of the mesh used, but that’s not a negative, just something to note. In contrast to the cheaper low quality gazebos out there, this is elite, built by an elite backpacking company. Big Agnes is one of my favourite backpacking gear manufactures, and I am super pleased with how this shelter is changing my car camping experience. Putting it up and taking it down are best as a two person job. The carrying bag has spots for everything, and comes with a bunch of extra stakes. There are lots of inside loops to set up lighting, etc. Although it’s too big for the backcountry, it’s design in setup is inspired by BA’s backcountry pedigree which is why I found it very intuitive to setup.GMan
I had been eying this for awhile, they offered this for %15 off, had to snatch it up.Steven D
5. Big Agnes Royal Hotel
Product Details:
A simple to use single-wall tent thats got plenty of tricks up its sleeve. double doors, an oversized vestibule, and mesh door for ventilation keep the royal hotel an easy and breezy option for family camping, festivals, games, reunions, and more. bring the whole gang, with little details like interior mesh pockets, gear loft loops, and reflective guylines tent deserves a 5 rating. the only thing youll be missing is the continental breakfast.
Reviews:
We bought this tent to fit two adults and a baby's pack n' play and it does so really comfortably. There's even room for a queen-sized futon behind the central bar. Set-up is easy, and we love the versatility of the front atrium/shade. Also, we unexpectedly found ourselves using this for the first time during a howling wind/rain storm and the tent withstood an incredible onslaught. Some water got in one of the side vents, but with horizontal rain, that seemed inevitable!posey43
I've used this twice, no rain either time so I can't speak to that. The tent is roomy enough for me on a cot or inflatable single bed, room for two dog beds, my suitcase, and to walk around. The rainfly will make an awning, once I get some extra tent poles. It's a fine tent.ChicoBonney

Reviews:
In late July, me and my four boys went backpacking up to the Crestones in Colorado. We took our new Big Agnes Flying Diamond 6 person tent in backpacks by splitting the tent up into several different parts. At 19 lbs, the tent is somewhat heavy but between the five of us, each pack had less than 4 lbs of tent weight. So that's not bad at all. After packing in 2 1/2 miles, we set the tent up at 12,060 feet, just below the face of Crestone Needle, a 14er. Setting up the tent was a bit complicated especially since a thunderstorm was bearing down on us. Out of necessity, we had the tent up in less than 10 minutes. The poles are color coded for the tent so that helped. The large size of the tent made for a fun time with me and the four boys since we were all together. We made many memories that would not have been possible if we were in two separate tents. The tent design is really impressive and the craftsmanship is top notch. We were camped below Crestone Needle for just over four days. In that time, we experienced three thunderstorms, two rainstorms, a windstorm with 30 to 40 mph gusts and a pounding hailstorm with up to quarter-size hail that lasted 30 minutes. The tent did great! The flying diamond handled the various types of bad weather with no problem. When the bad weather was raging outside, the tent was a safe haven of comfort. The velcro fly-tent attachments and guylines made the tent unshakable in strong wind gusts. When we got a barrage of hail that lasted a half hour, the tent did fine with no issues at all, even with a load of hail on top and drifting hail around the tent. The Flying Diamond 6 person tent sells for about the same as many four season tents half its size. By my evaluation, the Flying Diamond 6 person tent is the best value among the four season tents. Also, the overall design is well thought out and would rival many Everest basecamp tents. The Flying Diamond 6 person tent is the best tent I've ever owned by far.CB
During a camping trip last month with our BRAND NEW Flying Diamond 8 – to Arches National Park (established campground in the park), over 20 pole segments bent. We checked the weather & winds were recorded at 14 mph that day. To say we were shocked is an understatement. We had to bail early on a trip planned months out. We are avid campers/backpackers. This is not our first camping trip. We searched & read so many reviews prior to making this large purchase. We read the warranty and were convinced this would be covered. This was not an accident, not misuse & no alterations were made. Our tent was stacked down appropriately. After speaking to costumer service several times before & just this morning we learned we OWE $70 for repairs PLUS RETURN SHIPPING. This would not be covered under warranty! For a tent that claims to be used at EBC, I am thoroughly disappointed. Our Walmart car-camping tent held out 8 years & cost a fraction of this. I had planned to buy a new backpacking tent this summer from BA but will take my business elsewhere. I'm sad to write this review but want others to be aware of the poor quality in poles in the flying diamond 8.Sarah
Dear Big Agnes, My family loves the flying diamond 6 tent. My family of 4 then and now 6 have been using the tent for about 7 years now and we've had so many wonderful memories visiting so many parks: 1) Bad Lands, 2) Upper Michigan (Picture Rock) 3) Wisconsin State Parks (Devil's Lake, Gov Dodge Park, Gov Nelson Park, Gov Thompson Park, etc…) 4) Grand Tetons 5) Yellowstone 6) Glacier National 7) Rocky Mountain 8) Olympic National 9) Grand Canyon 10) Yosemite 11) Appalachian Trial 12) Zion 13) Shenandoah We want to say a BIG thank you to Big Agnes for being part of our family and life. The flying diamond 6 tent has made it possible to camp in a rainstorm, hail storm, snow storm, and high wind without worries. We love the tent so much we purchased another flying diamond 6 tent from REI this week! This is a true testament to the durability, utility, ease of use, fun, and joy of Big Agnes design and product. We cannot wait to try out the new tent this coming season! The 1st tent is still working beautifully. I resealed the footprint and floor and will pass it to a new family who enjoys camping and appreciate the product as much as we do. With Much Love, The Yang FamilyLY

Amazing tent. Super light and roomy. Shipping was fast as wellRyan T.
I've taken this backpacking for many nights, and overall I really like it. It is lightweight, waterproof, reasonably durable for how filmy the fabric is, and the interior with stash pockets is designed really well. The only thing that I don't like is the vestibule design. It is impossible to not get water on yourself when going in and out while the outside of the tent is wet. It is a pain to reach the zipper from the inside. I wish that Big Agnes used the same vestibule design that they had on my previous rattlesnake tent, which did not have the same issue.Ally

Reviews:
This is like an expedition tent only for 3 seasons into late autumn. It's very easy to pitch and is very roomy. I can use this even into October using my winter bag. I was able to have room to spare inside with my 2 person sleeping bag and backpack and clothing. The vestibule is roomy and adds more living/gear space. I recently spent a week primitive camping and I had zero issues with the tent. A couple of days were cold and windy and with the tent staked out there was no giving with the wind whatsoever. With the vestibule door and main interior door zipped I stayed warm and the interior of the tent was comfortable. One thing I found beneficial was the rear exit through the body of the tent and unzipping the back vestibule. It actually has 3 doors altogether. I did use a ground cloth. I think 50 dollars for a footprint is a pretty steep. I bought an 8 dollar plastic drop cloth to use under it instead. I definitely recommend using a ground cloth in the front vestibule as well. It keeps allot of debris out of the tent. This is heavy for backpacking. However, for car camping, it works great. Overall, I'm quite happy with this purchase. Big Agnes are very high quality products and you won't throw good money after bad with any of their products.Truman
The first time we used our Big Agnes Blacktail Hotel 3, we had a multi-inch downpour within 30 minutes of putting it up. Then it poured several times for hours over the next few days. The vestibule got wet but the tent inside stayed dry (be careful with the top vents being open during downpours though as you can get misting). The edges of the vestibule got wet inside at the edges. it was raining so hard the splatters were going up a foot so a lot of this was splatter under the fly, or just flooding water flowing past the tent. Negative, from my perspective it is huge, but we went from 2 person to a 3 person + large vestibule and small vestibule fly. The negative is it is harder for one person to put up and you need more space to set it up. The large vestibule could likely fit a bike and while awkward during downpours due to the fly slopping the vestibule openings helped with entry exit to keep the main part of the tent dry. Having only used it once it is still odd to match all the tabs in the right place for the footprint and fly when erecting the tent due to the two different sized vestibules. The tab color coding could be better. You also need to add a lot more tent stacks to tie down all the fly points than the tent comes with. That said I'd likely buy it again.Crumbs
Love the space, easy to setup and love the giant vestibule. But… 1) the cross pole design screams weak in strong winds to me. I added velcro cord wrap the the poles, to help with packing the poles, and to wrap around the crossing poles for some stability. 2) the guy line points, they don't have the velcro tabs to attach to the poles, so its integrity in high winds is down to the plastic buckles. 3) Not enough pockets. It's all on one side of the tent. So, orientation of the tent body relative to the ground slope and your sleeping position is important.Angry Asian Man

Haven’t put it to proper use yet but tried setting it up. Very easy to set up. 6 person noticeably taller and a bit more unruly to set up than 4 (I had bought both and returned the 4 as I wanted to be able to stand). Feels very robust. Love the neutral colour rather than that of the big house. It was between this and habitude – this won out on two doors rather than one and pricing.Eric H.
A bit pricey but easy to set up and pretty light for its size. Nice earth tone colour.Kanghyun K.

Reviews:
I purchased this tent late last summer and could not wait to give it a try on a bike packing trip. I love the size of this tent both packed and set up. It's perfect and spacious for one person, with lots of room to spread out and store gear. I placed my bike in the 'garage' as it rained the first trip out. Everything stayed dry. Lots of internal storage pockets and I slept comfortably (it was a warm night and a cool morning with light rain overnight). It was an easy first time set up…no issues at all. I used a tarp for a foot print but ended up purchasing the foot print later when it came back in stock. I will be using this bike packing tent in 2022 for a 300 miler. The reason I purchased this tent is that I can keep my bike in the large vestibule (garage. There are two entries with a smaller vestibule on the other end…I could exit on that end. I still had room in the larger vestibule (where my bike was) to use for heating water for oatmeal and coffee in the morning. The tent has ample room to sit up and get dressed inside. The tent weighs about 6 lbs. Yes…there are lighter bike packing tents…but for the security of being able to keep your bike inside the tent and the price of this tent…that extra weight….No problem for a bike packer! The tent fits easily back into it's stuff sack.LindaM
Here's what I like: This tent sets up quite easily, I like the way the tent looks and the overall build quality is great for the price point. Its also quite sturdy and you have lots of room for a single camper and bags of room in the vestibule areas for your gear. I'm a moto camper and the 12" poles are a big plus and can pack quite easily into my panniers so there are a lot of plusses to this tent. Here's what I don't like: It's always challenging if not darn near impossible to pack a tent the same way as it originally came Manufacturers when they pack a tent are working from a packing blueprint and have packing aids that make it easy for them to pack the tent into its sack, they are also not packing it in adverse conditions. Because the footprint of the stuff sack for this tent is extremely small for the size of the tent itself you are going to have a really hard time getting it to fit properly back into its sack and in windy conditions you will probably need help. To me this is overly time consuming especially when you want to get out of camp swiftly. A word of caution on the 12" poles. While they are not a problem setting up the inner tent, If you are used to using a longer pole set up you need to be very careful when threading the long pole thru the large vestibule area on the rainfly, shorter poles have a habit of snagging so you need to pay attention when setting up and tearing down the rainfly. As I said, I'm a moto camper and I'm going to use this tent quite frequently and I feel that it checks off the majority of my boxes but I'll replace the stuff sack to make it easier to pack, I'll sacrifice a little space but I'm less concerned about that as a cycle camper or backpacker might be.RTH1964
This is my first tent ever purchased, chosen because of the large vestibule and bike-friendly carrying dimensions. After some experimentation, I found it best to carry the tent in its stuffsack from the handlebars, with the tent poles in their own sack in the panniers, as the combined weight would otherwise interfere with my bar-end shifter cables. If your bike doesn't have low-hanging or protruding cables, the whole unit will probably mount just fine. After watching a couple of videos, I was able to pitch it easily, though I didn't figure out the guylines until after I returned from my trip. I purchased the footprint too and all of its grommets and tabs aligned with the ones on the tent and rainfly. The color coded tabs were very helpful in setting things up too. I felt warm and cozy camping near the beach. My bike fit completely inside the vestibule, which was great for peace of mind. There was plenty of overhead storage inside the tent even without the optional gear loft. This model was quite roomy for one person, but two would probably be a rather cramped fit. I can't speak for the Blacktail's durability since I've only used it once as of this writing, but it appeared well-made and stout in places where it mattered.

Reviews:
Bought this one month ago for one overnight in the Kentucky Hills, in Winter. Major storm came through. Blowing rain sideways, not a drop. The rain stake loops came off the stakes though, but the fly stayed on. I'd say its a little small for 2 people if one of them is over 200 lbs. It's manageable, but puts a lot of stress on the seams. They did not tear, however. Zippers jammed every time, but they were easy to unjam. Door arrangement is awesome as you can roll out of the tent.Theo
The Copper Spur HV UL 2 is a dream. Set up and take down is fast and easy, even in the rain, as you can assemble/disassemble the tent body while leaving the fly/footprint up, ensuring it (and you) stays dry. I most recently used this on a weeklong trip in the North Cascades, where it was off-and-of raining the whole week. The tent body never wetted out, and the footprint/fly dried quickly even in the humid conditions. There's plenty of space for packs, footwear, etc in the vestibules, keeping the internal sleeping space nice and roomy. Pockets were a good fit for all stuff sacks and other items we didn't want to leave outside the tent. Packability with the tent is huge – removing the stakes and poles, you can fit the fly, body, and footprint in a 6L dry bag which takes up hardly any space in a pack. All in all, I'm very pleased with the tent and have already recommended it to several other people.Rubbertoe
I bought this tent to hike the Grand Canyon. It was great except for the four stakes that hold the tent down which are not provided. The tent needs four stakes and the fly section needs eight. Since the package only comes with eight stakes total one can either not stake the tent, or stake the tent and short the fly by four stakes, or stake the tent then move them from the tent to the fly once the fly is on. Obviously I am not going to move the stakes though after I have pounded them into the hard Grand Canyon soil with a rock. It is also not an option to not secure the tent before affixing the fly, since the tiniest breeze will blow it away and the directions clearly say to stake all four corners of the tent. It is rather disappointing to pay almost $400 for a tent and not have enough stakes. I don't if Big Agnes is shorting stakes to claim a lighter trail weight or to save money but it is a bad decision.Water

for six persons to sleep, high enough to stand upright to dress, for 1 person to lay down on belly with legs and arms stretched out in the diagonal line of this rectangle tent – and also to place the opened laptop in front of you; plus: the lemon-yellow color makes a good sunny light inside the tent on all rainy and foggy days; and the Big Agnes is very storm tight with some extra tent strings and some extra tent pegs; plus: two persons next to each other can sun tan in the open tent door turned to sun direction. – Besides, this tent's proportions – length to width – almost are within the 'Golden Section'. – I bought my Big Agnes Ears 6 lemon-yellow online at Globetrotter.de in 2015.JML
I bought this tent to replace an aging Eureka Nightscape (very airy but strange set up with the operable fly). We wanted something a little taller and quicker to set up. With 2 main poles and one for the fly this was very easy to set up. And the straps are color coded so make it even easier! Even the ground cloth had color coded straps. Used it on a trip out East the past August, where the temp was in the 90's. Although the screens front and rear could be a little larger, it was fine. It also rained during one night, and we were totally dry even with the windows opened. We were able to stand up inside with a little bending over (I'm 5'-8"). The color is bright to see at night, although it did get a little muddy from the rain. This tent is perfect for two. Four would be tight. Hopefully, this tent will give us many years of use.James s.
15. Big Agnes Tiger Wall Platinum Tent, 2 Person

Platinum tents are a part of the crazylight collection from big agnes. weighing under two pounds, the tiger wall 2 platinum tent certainly lives up to its crazylight status. the tent features a silicone treated nylon fly and floor to keep wet weather out when you're hunkered down for the night, while steep walls increases space without adding bulk to maximize space within the tent, so you can stretch out and play a game while you wait out the storm. when you're ready to break camp, the dac aluminum featherlite poles keep the trail weight under three pounds for comfort when you're logging long miles on a daily basis. the tiger wall 2 platinum might shave a pound off the original tiger wall tent, but that doesn't mean big agnes skimped on features. it still has the same dual door and vestibule designed with quick stash door keepers to keep open doors. the low vent maintains ventilation with the fly on. the interior pockets are even the same. the only difference a ridiculously lower weight.

I have to say, this is ALMOST a really cool tent. It's incredibly light, and the short pole length makes it really attractive from a back- or bike-packing standpoint — those were the things that sold us originally. But it has a problem that isn't well-communicated by the photos or item description: It is not freestanding. The design requires a minimum of two stakes to be driven and separated by a taught seam to fully expand the foot of the tent. So camping on rocks, the usual forest service crusher-fines camping pads that are all over the midwest, even very dry earth are all really difficult. I carried it in the truck for a week of mellow car camping in the upper peninsula and wasn't able to deploy it once. Otherwise, it's spacious, attractive, and seems well-built. It just has a bummer of a tiny, but significant oversight in the design.engle.jona583443
I really quite like this tent for the weight and the good pockets! But it’s really strange to stake. The bottom corners are funky and leave the footprint oddly shaped. The sidewall opposite the door also doesn’t stake down well and a rock is required. Also the poles are pretty flimsy. I bought the tent earlier this year and the poles are extremely bent already.Cali
I love this tent! It’s definitely very small, and you’ll want to get the footprint, but it’s super light, easy to set up, seems resilient, and I’ve really enjoyed camping in it. Would recommend it to anyone who is doing solo camping (not in the winter), or who just wants their own tentKai I

Had the opportunity to use this vestibule along with our newly purchased Big Agnes Big House 6 tent this past weekend. It was pouring rain for hours, but setup was an absolute cinch (even without reading any instructions), and we were able to stay quite dry while we waited out the storm. We even were able to back our SUV with the tailgate up right up to the vestibule as we unloaded the car, staying completely dry doing so. The vestibule gave us an excellent place to sit in our camp chairs while everything around us got absolutely soaked.JMC889
Great addition to the Big House. We store all of our gear and chairs in here. Helps create a nice transition from the outdoors to the tent without tracking in all the dirt and wet stuff. Good open air cover from the rain. We love all the different possible configurations. Only downside we found is that zipping can sometimes be a little finicky, especially if we had a sloppy setup.david
We got the Big House 6 and I wasn't initially sure if we needed the vestibule because we had so much space inside the tent. But a week camping in Yellowstone, with multiple days of rain, convinced me I made the right choice. We were able to keep the campfire wood and a bunch of other gear dry/drying out under this big ol' vestibule — life would have been hard without it. Used the Moosejaw rewards from buying the Big House to get a little discount on the vestibule, which was nice. 🙂KMM1

First impressions, just got it in the mail today, it sunny and 20/5° C so not to extreme. This is my first BA tent however I have used there sleeping ba gs and the three wire bivy for years Now .I will use this tent primarily for bike bivouacs, I might end up buying the BA Copper Bike Packer tent adventure as well. After setting this tent up simple BTW , I sat in my alite chair and considered the tent for some time . I've decided to keep it ! Very roomy head room not to much space under the vestibule for gear though. Fits a camp chair nicely I'm 5,8 FYI , I can see this will be a go to tent when excepting rain ! Fold over your sleeping bag and you have nice room to cook , read , sew or whatever ! I'm very impressed with BA'scontinued quality. First impression are very good ! Down side the screen mesh tent does not stand Alone , plus side when getting setup fast you don't have to worry about a rain fly ! The mesh tent comes out and the rain shell stands alone , I guess this is useful give me some time. You can use it for a tarp sheltering at the beach I guess . It packs down a lot lot smaller than out of the box.Jay
I just purchased this tent a couple of weeks ago. Between the time of purchase and time of receipt, I received an e-mail from moosejaw's technical support team to let me know that if I had any questions regarding the tent all I needed to do is reply and a response would be forth coming. Well, as it turned out, I did need some support specific to the availability of the tent's footprint. My research led me to discover that it has been discontinued and it's very difficult – if not impossible – to find a used one. My question to Moosejaw's technical support team was what alternatives exist and where to get them? UNFORTUNATELY, there has been NO RESPONSE. Bottom line: I'll figure out a solution on my own. It appears that I can find a footprint that's quite close in size and I'll RUBE GOLDBERG it to fit appropriately with the required attachment points.jjbsack25
19. Big Agnes Tiger Wall 2 Person Carbon With Dyneema Tent
Product Details:
If you could snap your fingers and the lightest, most packable two-door tent of your dreams would appear before you, this would be it. designed with the lightest-weight materials available; easton carbon pole set and dyneema composite fabrics – an extremely strong and dynamic fiber that is both highly tear resistant as well as fully waterproof. this tent is any ultralight-weight traveler's dream. these products are intended for only the most advanced user. although extremely strong for their weight, these tents are not indestructible and require careful use to decrease the possibility of damage. special care during setup and extended trips is important as rough handling, long-term abrasion, exposure to sharp objects or rocky campsite selection may result in fabric punctures and tears. we highly recommend using tent footprints with these tents to improve durability. self-adhesive repair patches are included in the event that repairs must be made on the trail.

I love backpacking and try to pack as light as possible. But I can't sleep without a tent. I need a barrier between me and the bugs or I won't sleep. The Big Agnes Tiger Wall Carbon tents are the perfect line of tents for me and my kids as long as we don't bring the dog. It's simi-free-standing, crazy light weight, has good floor space, good headroom, good ventilation, very waterproof, has good gear storage, two doors, and two vestibules. My other tent is a Big Agnes Copper Spur UL4. I love both tents for different reasons. The Copper Spur UL is bigger, tougher, and cheaper, but it's way heavier. The Tiger Wall Carbon is lighter, faster to set up, and more waterproof, but I worry about the dog's claws putting holes in the floor. It has never happened, but I am also really careful. So if I take the dog, we use the Copper Spur UL, otherwise, we always take the Tiger Wall Carbon.Lil Roo
The tent is identical to the other tiger wall tent series with the exception of materials and the perpendicular ridge pole is not attached to the main “Y” poles. No the that the outer fly is essentially opaque (nearly clear). About the same transparency as a ziplock freezer bag doubled over. Not exactly what I expected (I thought it was more gray from descriptions) – so this may be a consideration if privacy is of concern. The structure / design of the tent puts the super lightweight consideration first, and although it will hold up in medium wind speed one would be wise to avoid pitching in super exposed areas. Rain on the dyneema fly seems nosier than silnylon. If I could change one aspect I would make the fly thicker and tinted to any colour other than opaque. Fits 2 people snugly, 1 person very comfortably.Steve G.
