As I previously stated I bought two of these harnesses in two different sizes. A small and a medium as I was not sure which would work. The small is a great fit for my 13 lb Shih Tzu. But this is summer and she is shaved down. I am going to use the medium size for winter to go over her sweaters and coats. She is also is not shaved down for colder weather so I tend to buy larger sizes for the colder seasons. Besides the price was great.Marlene D

I've had other harnesses in the past and whilst they fit my English Staffordshire around the body I found they got to a point where they were difficult to get on and off over his big lump of a head . I have a 70lb Xoloitzcuintli (Mexican Hairless). I purchased both the Hurtta Cooling Coat and the Swamp Cooler Dog Vest by Ruffwear. Both are made from similar material and work the same way. The Hurtta coat has much more coverage, has extended hind end flaps and front chest flaps, resembles a horse jacket. Whereas the Ruffwear is more of a fitted vest. I would have given the Hurtta Cooling Coat 5 stars however, the stitching that secured the chest strap isn't reinforced and tore out of the material the first time used. I then outfitted the dog in the Ruffwear Swamp Vest, which worked beautifully. Since my dog is hairless it was easy to feel how well the vest worked. Placing my hand on exposed skin, then touching skin under the vest, there was a noticeable difference in temperature however his skin was dry – just cooler. I have stitched the Hurtta strap back on and feel it will be equally as good if not better than the Ruffwear due to it's increased surface area.Laura
Got a *very similar* Puppia mesh harness for my chi that was adjustable on the shoulders rather than pulling over her head. The harness was comfortable on her and held up well, but the buckles on the shoulders just made it too bulky. So I would definitely recommend the ones without the extra buckles.

I have two very strong Scottish terriers who would pull when they saw another dog or cat and they actually pulled me over. I was fed up with having bruised and scraped hands and knees so I asked Google where I could get a non pull harness. They came up with several and I chose two from Petplanet.co.uk. The best investment I have made for my puppy, who is growing fast and extremely jumpy. It got to the stage where I found it incredibly difficult to walk her, but the Halti harness works a treat! The Halti double ended lead can be wrapped around you so you use your body weight rather than your hands/arms to stop the pulling. I can literally walk hands free! You can then take the lead off the front part of the harness and it becomes a 6 foot lead, which is great for recall training. If you take the whole double ended lead off, the harness has about a 1ft lead attached to it, which is easy to grab if you need to when you let your dog off the lead. Purchased Halti harness as last resort to control large pup. Due to urgent surgery at 12 weeks of age and essential crating post-operative 24/7 (except for toilet breaks) for 5 weeks following her procedure, the critical period of training unfortunately couldn't be completed during this time frame. Once able to commence training, she had grown significantly, was very strong and strong willed … finding a harness / lead to assist with her training was difficult until stumbling across the Halti harness. Bought this product for a 7 month old puppy that is still learning to walk on lead and pulls so badly on a flat collar that she starts to choke herself. Fitting of the harness was very easy and adjusting the straps very simple. The inclusion of the clasp that attaches to the collar is a very good idea as it helps center the front of the harness as well as a safety precaution if the harness comes loose. I was suprised by how well the harness worked, there was no pulling right from the start. When my puppy gets over-excited (e.g. sees another dog) she attempts to pull but is easily controlled compared to the flat collar. I find the straps need readjusting fairly regularly and as they get loose the harness becomes less effective. This could be overcome by stitching in place at correct adjustment but as my dog is still growing I don't want to do that just yet. Overall I am very happy with the harness and it suits my purpose of continuing to train my dog to walk calmly on lead without her pulling so hard that she is choking herself and possible causing damage.08cactus
Purchased this for our rescue red heeler who had never been walked on a lead at 16 months old. He pulled constantly and walks were unbearable. This harnass lasted exactly three minutes. I put it on my dog, adjusted it, and she chewed it for a second and it completely tore. The company acknowledges that it can not withstand even a quick nip from your dog. Ridiculously poor quality. Their answer is for you to spend another 12.99 for a warranty to get another harnass which will do the same thing. Awful product that is expensive. Dismissive and unethical customer service. I really like the product. The two connection points give me more control over my reactive dog. A few months after purchase I noticed some of the nylon was unraveling near one of the box stitches. Our no-pull service dog harness is a true no-pull harness. what makes this a no-pull harness is a d-ring set into the front chest plate. if you have a dog that wants to get out in front of you then this harness will solve that problem. when the leash is attached to the front chest d-ring and you tug at the leash the dog will turn back towards you. causing the dog to turn its head and focus on you. if you have a young dog that gets distracted easily this will also be perfect for you. when training with this harness i will attach a short leash to the top d-ring of the harness & then a narrow longer leash to the front chest d-ring. i will work the top leash but if the dog gets out of position or distracted i have that narrow longer leash on the front d-ring to make the correction & get the dog back focused on me. if you are working with a wheel chair you can attach one leash to the chair and hold the other leash that is connected to the front d-ring to get the same results the no-pull service dog harness is a form fitting harness with adjustments on both the chest/neck & girth areas. there are two sets of buckles at the neck & girth so once you have the harness adjusted to your dog's size then it is very easy to take the harness on and off because the adjustments can be left in place. you won't have to take this harness off & on by pulling it over the dogs head. the no-pull quick-release service dog harness is padded with air mesh for your dog's comfort. the padded chest area gives good stability to the harness. there are no loose floppy straps on this no-pull service dog harness. the entire harness is bound with reflective materials. it comes with two attached reflective service dog patches. there is an attached double pocket id window for your id's. the handle is a raised molded easy grip handle with two d-rings to attach an extended bridge handle. the harness is red in color and comes in three sizes. bridge handles & id cards are sold separately.

I wanted a front clip harness for my adolescent SDIT who needs a bit of extra "steering" right now. I thought this harness would be perfect, but after using it once, I realize that the description didn't give neck measurements. Buying based on girth size alone, I ended up with a harness that hangs on my adolescent German Shepherd (whose girths usually fill out long before their necks). With such a loose neck on front clip harness, the whole thing spins. There's no way to size it down. So for anyone with a young deep-chested breed, watch out for that. Otherwise, my dog clearly liked it. The Y (between the front legs) strap design is ergonomically superior to traditional harnesses, especially with growing dogs. It's lightweight and comfortable. Like all my other Active Dog harnesses, the quality is second to none. It should be a great harness for my dog during the heat of summer after he's filled out. I love how reflective it is. (In the photo, the restaurant patio was quite dark. The harness was impressive the way it lit up when the flash hit it.). It's a nice enough harness that I'll just put this away until late summer. If the neck were more adjustable (or neck size listed in the description), I'd give this a 5 paw rating.Lori
We received the no pull service dog harness, padded cordrua clip on bridge handle and ID that we just ordered. Much sooner than we expected. We new we wanted a no pull harness for our (working) service dog because they have work so well our other (pet) dogs. We ordered this online and were surprised by the item we picked up. Looks totally different and the sizing on pack is dramatically different from what is shown in the product image online. Our dog is in the middle of the ranges listed for “Small” by the sizing chart online, but was too big for the item we received which quoted his size measurement at the very top end. Separately, this thing is not easy to use. It’s got a pull tie closure and we could not figure out how to get the dog into it had it been his right size. There are instructions on the back with images that help but our dog would not let us take the time to put on like that. It took me a while to figure out how to put this on my little spaniel. That is on me. Once I did, I found that it did keep her from pulling, something important to me since I've just had shoulder surgery. I am, however, very disappointed that the metal part tarnished very quickly. Will be returning. Our Yorkie mix weighs 10 lbs and measured 14 inches around her chest. Based on the size chart, we ordered her a size Small. We paid extra for shipping. When it got here, it looked tiny. I adjusted the straps and tried putting it on our pup but it’s too small! It barely went over her head and wouldn’t close even at the largest adjusted strap point. Either your size chart is wrong or your product is mislabeled. I will be returning this harness. Which is too bad because I love the harness she has from your company but it is stinky now and the smell won’t wash away. I won’t be ordering another harness from you because I won’t be paying shipping again and it may not fit and I’ll have to return.LoveBlueDiamonds
I like this harness! I have a mini aussie and he is a chewer. Sometimes with these he will somehow find his way to nibble around the edges of the harness and tear through it. (We’ve been through 3 harnesses) Anyways, I wish it were a little easier to out on with the clip that has to go through the strap but I guess thats why he is so secure.
