I purchased the Bark Begone Dog Training tool for a very barky dog we have. (I have three dogs currently) Once Lola gets going, the others will join in. Bought the Bark Begone because one of our neighbor's dogs (1 of 4) would not stop barking when we were in her sight. Best thing, since sliced bread ! Like many other people I hesitated a long time to make the purchase due to the cost and could have saved myself a lot of sleepless nights if I bought this sooner. My neighbour has a German Shepard and another big dog. Their favourite time (although not the only time) is to bark through the night in close proximity to our bedroom window. Both dogs are untrained and the owners don't care about the nuisance their dogs are causing. The German Shepard's barking improved within a day. The other dog is older and still barks, but less and now goes to the other side of their property where the barking is not causing such a nuisance. We have mounted the device on our TV antenna on top of our roof due to the neighbour's property being higher than ours and will raise it more, which may perhaps help sort out the barking on the other side of the house as well. When the dogs are out of reach of the bark pick-up zone, I simply push the remote, which works great from almost my whole house. The remote and I are now inseparable when I am home. So far this thing is a lifesaver. I WILL say, we live on a city block, where about 6 yards converge in one area, with lots of fences between. We mounted ours from a 2nd story-patio pointing down into an adjacent yard where two VERY territorial dogs reside in the backyard. The owners let them randomly run in and out for every little noise they year through the doggy-door to bark for HOURS. The device is quite sensitive, I have to keep it turned down almost as low as possible so it doesn't go off randomly (in audible mode), for every little sound it picks up. But it does go off for the dogs, and it does seem to work on them because they'll immediately whine after 3 barks and then circle the backyard before heading back indoors. We have some great neighbors who have several dogs, one or two of which bark far too much. After several years of enduring it I decided to try this Ultimate Bark Controller. I mounted it to our house about 10 feet above the ground and pointed directly into their yard. I turned the sensitivity to max and set it on audible so I could tell when it was being triggered. Almost immediately it began to have an affect. It didn’t stop the barking completely or all at once, but over time it has greatly reduced the amount of barking and especially the needless barking. I bought this puzzle for my 13 week old Staffy Puppy. She had not used a dog puzzle before but I knew the easier level puzzles wouldn't challenge her enough after I had observed her getting through a lot of other mental stimulation toys with ease. On her first use it took her 30 mins to complete it and the time has reduced considerably after each use. After 2 weeks of use she can now complete it in 10 minutes and I really enjoy watching her move all the pieces to get to her favourite treats. This puzzle is fantastic for mental stimulation and it really tires her out. You can also fit an entire meal of dry food in it so it is a great slow feeder and provides me with some time out. I bought this for the time after our pup got spayed, to keep her occupied during recovery. I love that there are no separate parts to get lost or chewed. The material is very durable and has not gotten scratched even though our dog paws at it quite roughly to turn the middle circle around. Excellent puzzle feeder, the middle disc can be easily removed as starting level. Our dog first quite easily figured out how to slide the knobs to reveal treats. When she mastered that, we added the disc back and had to help her a few times and show her how it works till she fully got it as it's much more challenging that way. You can fit quite a bit of dry food in it if you want to serve big part of their meal in it or you can simply put one or two crunchies in each compartment if you want to occupy your dog for a while without overfeeding them. Bought this for my 7 mo Queensland Heeler. Put a few training treats in each hole, covered it with the flap and then put the slide against the flap to make sure he had to do the two motions to get the treats. He had the first flap open in about 15 seconds. The flaps and slides have zero resistance so he didn't have to work to get them open. Bought to help control pack behavior barking on three small indoor dogs (4 to 7 pounds). The issue is as soon as they hear us at the door or any small noise outside, they set off barking and get wound up, taking nearly 10 minutes to calm the down again and stop their barking. Device worked fine for us using through the door, which is solid wood. I also used it in the driveway holding the device out the car window when they were barking as we were pulling out of the drive to leave, and they stopped barking. This item worked great the first three of four days used. They stopped barking and sat down immediately (with the exception of the "leader" who ran and hid. All uses since then have resulted in a very brief pause in the barking and then they went right back to barking. Device had absolutely no effect on our 70 pound dog, did not seem to bother him in the least. Keep in mind we were only using this 2 times a day to correct barking when arrive home from work or elsewhere, so they were not being exposed to it constantly. Device does do what it states, for a limited amount of time before the dogs become accustom to it. I do not recommend it simply because effectiveness is severally reduced in less than a week with minimal use.McK79
We have a 7 month old lab puppy that barks at EVERYTHING and ANYTHING,jumps on company and can't behave herself,chokes herself when walking. She is outside barking at the people getting out of church,I press the button several times and she stops,looks at me and goes back to barking. I move closer and press it again,she twitches her head looks at me and barks again. Hand commands are being ignored and she jumps,barks and does what she wants. 5th day-I'm boxing it and taking it back to the store to buy a training collar and remote. Doesn't work on stubborn dogs,doesn't even work on stray dogs that run around the outside of our fence causing my puppy to bark. They look at me and run to other side of fence. I can be within a hand distance and it still doesn't effect them or my puppy. The price is perfect and i loved the idea of it,just doesn't work.Rmenda
We have a neighbor with several dogs that would bark and growl if we came within 15ft of the wooden fence separating our property . I expected this to be a lot more difficult for our 2 month old lab. He got it on the first try. We changed to a large breed puppy food and it doesn't fit as well in the slots, it is better designed for smaller food. Product is very durable, and has 18 slots to put food in.
