Reviews:
Best thing, since sliced bread ! Like many other people I hesitated a long time to make the purchase due to the cost and could have saved myself a lot of sleepless nights if I bought this sooner. My neighbour has a German Shepard and another big dog. Their favourite time (although not the only time) is to bark through the night in close proximity to our bedroom window. Both dogs are untrained and the owners don't care about the nuisance their dogs are causing. The German Shepard's barking improved within a day. The other dog is older and still barks, but less and now goes to the other side of their property where the barking is not causing such a nuisance. We have mounted the device on our TV antenna on top of our roof due to the neighbour's property being higher than ours and will raise it more, which may perhaps help sort out the barking on the other side of the house as well. When the dogs are out of reach of the bark pick-up zone, I simply push the remote, which works great from almost my whole house. The remote and I are now inseparable when I am home. It has become my security blanky. I Love the dog silencer max ! Now if only you can make a device to train inconsiderate dog owners.Heleen J.
So far this thing is a lifesaver. I WILL say, we live on a city block, where about 6 yards converge in one area, with lots of fences between. We mounted ours from a 2nd story-patio pointing down into an adjacent yard where two VERY territorial dogs reside in the backyard. The owners let them randomly run in and out for every little noise they year through the doggy-door to bark for HOURS. The device is quite sensitive, I have to keep it turned down almost as low as possible so it doesn't go off randomly (in audible mode), for every little sound it picks up. But it does go off for the dogs, and it does seem to work on them because they'll immediately whine after 3 barks and then circle the backyard before heading back indoors. No more barking at every single neighbor for simply opening a door, or LOOKING OUT A WINDOW DOWN AT THEM, or even seeing a silhouette behind A CLOSED CURTAIN. YEESH. Very happy with this device, just wish it wasn't SO sensitive considering the dogs are close proximity and we're in a louder-than-usual-living-situation, also wish the AC Adaptor had a sliiiightly longer cord.Kim H.
We have some great neighbors who have several dogs, one or two of which bark far too much. After several years of enduring it I decided to try this Ultimate Bark Controller. I mounted it to our house about 10 feet above the ground and pointed directly into their yard. I turned the sensitivity to max and set it on audible so I could tell when it was being triggered. Almost immediately it began to have an affect. It didn’t stop the barking completely or all at once, but over time it has greatly reduced the amount of barking and especially the needless barking. If people walk down the sidewalk the dogs still bark, but without anything to instigate barking their problem barkers are much quieter dogs now. This has helped out our neighborhood. Almost all of our neighbors have dogs and all of them bark too much, including our own dogs. However this device has helped reduce barking all around just by reducing the barking in this one yard. Don’t expect miracles, but you can expect results. Furthermore it does not appear to hurt any dogs in any way. I have not seen any painful reactions to the device. It seems to annoy them so they quiet down.Jed M.

Reviews:
I one hundred percent recommend this product. I have used E collars in the past but my dogs respond so much better and I get positive reinforcement with ultrasonic tone. It's not painful to my dogs but gets immediate response on recall or stopping negative behavior and it has a reward tone for doing good. Great product. Recommended to all my fellow dog owners.Big Dollar Pittbulls
First the website should indicate a 9V battery is required to operate the remote. Nor does it indicate it on the packaging. Fortunately I had on on hand after it was apparent one was needed. Second: The sound is wonderful for her ears and not mine. She perks up each time she hears the noise. I reward her with a small treat. It wasn't until we went for our walk the next day that I was able to try out the "N" part of the remote. I use it together with the words (not new to her) "leave it." It appears to work just find when on a busy road and we are on a sidewalk. However, we live in a condominium atmosphere and golf carts, Fed Ex and UPS trucks are about and close to a walker where there are no sidewalks. For the record, she is a Dingo, rescued street dog for 2 1/2 years from Puerto Rico. I am her very first owner. She has come along way however when her mind is set on the nasty golf cart, etc. the remote will not work. Period. She tunes it out and is completely focused on the "nasty." Overall I would recommend the remote. Its effectiveness will depend on the mindset of the dog to begin with and of course utmost patience with the owner/handler with teaching.Duchess

Reviews:
This was purchased to replace an item that didn't work very well and was more expensive. The design is great. We use the tone and the static. We use the tone first and if that doesn't work then we use the static. It is set on the lowest setting but still works well so if you have to use the static then start with the lowest setting. We haven't had to use the static hardly any since he has learned if he doesn't obey by the tone then he will get the static. It doesn't harm them. I've seen ratings where people didn't use the static and if you don't have to that's great but sometimes you have one very energetic and stubborn so it's a must. That's why the option is there.basc
This product is awesome for my use! I live on a State Road that’s busy at times! My dog always has his collar on when I let him loose! It has trained him not to go out to the road! So I use this collar every day! Also the operation is very easy! I dont have to look at a screen to see what it is set on! Basically used the tone button or the shock button if needed! I have not had to use the shock very much at all over the years! Also so convenient when hunting! I can keep my eyes on my dog to know what’s going on with him without having to look again at some screen for my settings! Easy to use and they have lasted much longer than any other collar I have had over the years! There’s nothing better out there for this price and dependable operation!Truggles
This is the best recall collar… It is easy… So simple… You never will by mistake "Zap" your dog… Most recall collars are way too digital and way too complicated… I have actually purchased two more s backup in case they stop making this great product and go digital also… I HOPE NOT.. Love Love love this!!ELJar
4. Company Of Animals Pet Corrector Dog Training Aid – 50 Ml Can
Product Details:
The pet corrector emits a hiss of compressed gas (hfc 134a) which is completely safe for animals and produces a broad spectrum sound (white noise) varying from a low frequency rumble to a high frequency hiss to interrupt a dog's unwanted behaviour. the overall effect is to grab the attention of a dog. dogs exhibit a wide range of reactions according to their hearing sensitivity and prior conditioning. nevertheless, almost all dogs initially react to the pet corrector because the sound is genetically programmed to be associated with danger, such as from the hiss of a snake, an angry swan or the buzz of a dangerous insect. other uses the pet corrector is not just for dogs. on dr mugford's farm, one young horse has a playful (and cruel) tendency to chase and bite sheep. another, enjoyed chewing post and rail fences. both 'misbehaviours' can be interrupted, even from a distance, by the pet corrector. cats can misbehave too! the pet corrector can be used effectively to interrupt their stalking and catching birds and to stop them using furniture as scratching posts. the holster does not come with a 50 ml canister.

Reviews:
We absolutely ADORE this product for our dog! She is a mixed breed whose dominant behaviours reflect her Australian Cattle Dog DNA, and when she gets fixated on something (our cat, our food, us) this Pet Correcter is the only thing we've found that can bring her out of the fixation. We tried the coins in a can, the clicker, a whistle, other devices, and this is the one to which she responds every time. We love that it's not harmful, it hasn't caused her any kind of startle or nervous behaviours upon hearing the sound, and it has enabled us to use verbal 'hisses' when we don't have it at hand to break her fixation. We love it, and so glad Petco carries it in the larger size!Cerebreality
So I bought this today , mostly out of because my nerves are gone from a dog I have that barks at EVERYTHING. I have other dogs and if they even move to change their laying position or I get up to go into other room, she barks non stop. So when I went into the store today and talked to the team member about what I was wanting and her behaviors she suggested this product. I came home and when she started barking and I told her to stop and when she didn't I sprayed it.,it was an IMMEDIATE quiet. then she did it again and I said no, she continued to bark so I sprayed it again. and WOW she stopped. I have to say I am so happy right now, with having 4 dogs 3 of whom like to bark it is hardly ever quiet in here, someone moves or knocks on door or it is feeding time it is a mad house in here. I LOVE IT AND I WILL BE BUYING MORE TO USE TO HELP TRAIN HER MORE. I asked her to stop tonight when my son grabbed trash bags ( another thing that sets her off) and she stopped when I asked her to… I will be calling the store I bought it from and thank the person whom helped me. Sorry this review is so long, but 6 yrs of this and nothing else has helped.renee513
I have a dog who had a very bad and dangerous habit of chasing cars. I tried everything to fix this including: high frequency sounds, treats and positive reinforcement, training, vibrations, physically restraining and even an e collar. Nothing worked, at least not consistently. I bought a can of this and my dog has stopped chasing cars after the FIRST spray! I dont even have to use it, just the sight of the can and he goes on his best behavior. It also has remedied excessive barking. I can't say enough good things about this product, it has been a total game changer for me. I immediately bought two more to stock up.RKRK

Already a fan of Sportdog, Ive been using a single collar for 8 yrs with no issues. This control is more exact with 2 or more collars, I use three collars and I love it. A word of caution with the camo controller and dog collar, if you drop it in the woods youll never find it. Go with the hunter orangested1201
The transmitter will not charge, despite my having ordered a new battery. The collar receives and charger work just fine, but the transmitter does not work well…it lost its charge and I can't recharge it…so it's a very expensive one-time-use collar. I should have spent just a little more for a Garmin.CabelasSucks111

Reviews:
This is my third one of these collars. I have tried other brands as well as more expensive collars made by pet safe and continue to find this is simply the best collar for my needs. We have a St Bernard and he is very self willed but he respects and responds well to the collar. He likes a good swim to the summer and I find this collar is not exactly water proof that is why we are on our third one also the first two we bought were second hand. That being said we just take the collar off after a swim remove the batteries and let it dry out and we are good to go again.downhome-45
This collar did not work that well for my needs, however a dog owner w a different breed, say a small or med dog w a short coat, probably be perfect. I have 2 100lb German shepherds w winter coats still shedding. Not easy for diodes to connect. Once connected, it works. Also takes time and effort training no matter what.ncpc45

I got this bark collar for my two dogs and it worked wonderfully for a few months. They completely stopped barking! But then, the battery wouldn't stay charged. I was told that I might be doing something wrong that ruined the battery. Customer Service was uber helpful (5 stars for them!) and they sent me a new collar for free. I ended up going through five collars in just a few months with the same problem each time. The rechargeable battery is the only problem with this product, but it is a huge problem. When I finally asked Customer Service if they had any spray collars with a different type of battery, they directed me to the Elite Spray Bark Collar. When I got the collar they only had the one for little dogs, but it still works amazingly for my big dogs! It does all the same things as the rechargeable one except that it uses non-rechargeable batteries. These batteries last way longer than the rechargeable one though so it's a win-win! I highly suggest looking at the Elite Spray Bark Collars!!!NIKKI 😉
Supposed to have 35-45 sprays but it sure didn’t. We put the collar on him and angled the camera so we could watch him and try to train him to stop. He barked and it sprayed. He continued to bark. It continued to spray. It shut off like it’s supposed to. We went in and the whole place smelled like citronella. We walked back out after trying to calm him. He barked and it sprayed. He kept barking and then it stopped spraying and started flashing that it was out. The. Citronella cartridge only had maybe 5-8 sprays. We had to leave for a few hours that afternoon and we put the unscented cartridge in. After being gone for only an hour or two it was empty as well. We watched video of him and he continued to bark through the sprays. It had no effect. However, it also only had maybe 10ish sprays in it total. The cartridges aren’t worth the money as they don’t have what they are supposed to have in them. The collar was not worth the money as the spray didn’t even phase our dog. Maybe it works for others but it didn’t do anything for us apart from leave a citronella smell in the air for a few minutes.MarkD504
For starters I am not a person who usually leaves reviews but this product deserves it! I bought two of these collars for my two of my noisier dogs. I have tried everything to control their barking – trying to distract them with treats, spraying them with water to correct the behaviour, using high frequency clicker and using a training collar that I would beep if they barked as a warning and then it would vibrate if they barked again. None of these worked so I gave up for a bit, until I saw this collar come up as I was researching new collars to try – I decided to give it a shot since it was different than the methods I have previously tried. My god, it is incredible! I put the collar on my noisiest dog, a terrier, (his barking is out of control) and he barked once and it sprayed him and he has not barked since – I went from having him bark at every little sound he heard outdoors to peace and quiet. I love this product and I highly recommend it! P.S. It also works for my other dog, my terrier just gets her hyped up with his barking but now they are my quiet little hellhounds 🙂lbll12

This is by far the best decoy on the market. KONG never disappoints and these last longer than any other brand or type of floating toy. Our Chesapeake Bay/Labrador loves it and won't leave it inside when he goes out. He can chew it to pieces, so we throw it to give him exercise rather than leave him with it unsupervised. Interestingly, he won't chew it inside, just when he goes out…Melanie M
Moved house to Live by the sea, but my 8 year old dog couldnt swim, (she also had leg surgery which has given her arthritis) I wanted her to get some exercise in the water so brought her a life jacket and this as a last option after trial and error with balls, floats, toys etc but with no success or interest …… as shes a big wuss and a big dog this has been excellent and she is now swimming out to retrieve it and as its quite big and floats really well she can see it easily and loves going in the sea after it. So its been an amazing tool to help her with her leg, and learning to swim. Would definitely recommend this itemmitchy6921
Have had quite a few dummy's that work well for a couple of hours. Then destruction. Kong products are the most durable. Have made five trips to the ocean with many tosses and still looking good. Sits high so as to not get lost in the waves. Heavy enough to toss fair distance. Priced very reasonable. Great product3046william
10. Petsafe Ultrasonic Bark Control Collar
Product Details:
The ultrasonic bark control collar uses an ultrasonic tone to deter nuisance barking, giving you peace and quiet wherever you and your dog go. whenever your dog barks, he'll hear a high-pitched sound that's inaudible to most humans. the harmless yet annoying ultrasonic tone stops as soon as he stops barking, which quickly and effectively teaches your dog to stop barking. the collar is lightweight, water-resistant, and comfortable so your dog can where it at home, the vet, the park, or anywhere he likes to bark. a low battery indicator will let you know when to change the 3-volt lithium batteries. ultrasonic bark correction is often the best bark control solution for many dogs. however, it will not work for all dogs because of factors like age, hearing ability, and temperament.
Specifications:
Weight | 1 lb |
Reviews:
Purchased this collar from Chow Down pet supplies. It had absolutely zero effect on my dog. He completely ignored whatever sound was coming from the device. I threw this away and got a much pricier static correction collar that has customizable settings. No comparison, much more effective… don't waste your money on cheap pet safe products.D Cooper
When I first got my puppy at 6 months old he would constantly bark. I was told at the store this is not a very good bark training collar, but if I wanted something inexpensive to try it and if it didn’t work I could return it. I was then hesitate that it didn’t work, but still tried it and loved it! Every time he barked you could see the light flash on it. 1 downfall is the collar can be easily rotated around the neck no matter how tight you have it if the scratches at it. It needs to be kept in the front of the dogs neck, and as high up the neck as possible. So you have to keep adjusting it, but I also found it shocks them if they are doing something they aren’t supposed to, and when you yell loudly at them it shocks them as well. So it serves a multipurpose of bark control, and obedience. I only had to use it on my dog for less than a week, and he stopped the constant barking, chewing, and was 100% more obedient! I’d recommend it to anyone who doesn’t want to spend a crazy amount of money on training collars, or bark collars! Worked great!Lauj
my dog can’t even shake his head without getting a correction. Almost any sound cause him to get a correction so it is scary and confusing for him. It would be nice if there was a sensitivy adjustment but the collar as designed is not helpful. The average bark of a dog compared to the sounds that are setting this off are not the same and all will cause the dog anxiety due to the false stimulations.Heather52

I have had this for over a year now and it still works just as good as the day I bought it. I recomend this to anyone that wants to train their dog. I may have used the shocking part maybe 5 times at the most now the only thing I use on it is the warning because my dog knows when I call him he comes running. I have also trained him not to go out of my gate and the only thing I had to do was warn him when he got close to the gate and he has learned not to even go close to the gate. He is now 7 years old and when it is his time to go to heaven the next puppy I get I will defiantly be introducing my new dog this collar. It is the easiest way to train a dog. I don't think it is to harsh once they know what happens to them if they don't listen you never haft to use the shock part anymore. If you do need to use the shock part it is because they really need it. I highly recommend this to anyone that is trying to train their do It is well worth every penny and it will last forever as long as you take care of it. Most of the time my collar isn't even charged but when he has it on I can make him do any thing I want him to do…LOLBoomer 111

My Westie is a true terrier. On our morning walks we always had to cross the street to avoid passing bigger dogs. He would bark his head off! It became embarrassing as everyone avoided us! He also likes to watch TV and every time a dog appeared he barked endlessly! With this device used properly, he no longer barks in these situations. I highly recommend it!Patricia

This works great…. we have a lab that is sure the house and all of it’s contents are hers. Pet gates slow her down but don’t stop her. This does we took zip ties and made a loop to hang it on a pet gate and a door knob ( pantry) she hasn’t gotten in since we put these up. Very pleased and ordering 2 moreAhsoka

Reviews:
I heard about this product from a friend last winter and after researching it and many other invisible fences, This was by far the one to get. I installed it myself in about 2-3 hrs…I live in the country and just laid the wire on the ground around aprox. 1 acre. no need to bury it at this point however that may change, (we'll see)…the ease of install and very easy to follow instructions left me feeling great, it was too easy. I have three dogs and thought it would be a chore to train and familiarize them to the area of confinement. I was stunned that after the first time out with each dog (one at a time), as dogs do they found the edge of the border very quickly and after discovering the entire perimeter they settled in and love being off the 25' leash I had them on. In any event, if you are questioning yourself about this product DON'T. For me it was a total "easy button".Charlie2509
After having an Innotek in-ground fence for almost 10 years, our collars died and we were looking to replace the system. There was nothing out there comparable, except for SportDog. I've had it set up for about 4-5 days. So far, it's great. I have the 'contain and train' with remote trainer, and it's a bit more complicated than our Innotek, which did not have the remote. It works great: It gives a warning vibration and sound prior to a shock. Our dog knows the routine, so he stops at the beeping sound. It hooked right up to our current in-ground copper wire ( about 5 acres worth) and works great. No need to replace in ground wire. Potential Cons: The 'box' on the collar is about twice the size and weight of the Innotek. It's really big and heavy. I thought the Innotek one was more than I wanted to leave on my dog, but this SportDog is MUCH bigger and seems like it would be uncomfortable and annoying. Our dogs are about 40-45 pounds and they are ok for that size, but a smaller dog it would just be way too big. For the record, our dog doesn't seem like it bothers him, but I would still like it about half the size and weight it is now. The manual says to only leave on for 12 hours at a time, but that's not practical. The dog knows he can run off when the collar is not on, sooooo…. what's the point if your dog is not protected 24/7? I leave it on all the time and just make sure to leave it loose enough that it doesn't poke him. As long as it's on, he doesn't go near the boundary. Compared to our straightforward Innotek collars, this system is like a camera that has a LOT of bells and whistles. There are so many options that it makes it difficult and more time consuming to set up (even for someone extremely familiar with and experienced with systems like this) , and there are features you may not use. That said, it IS nice to have those features and options. You just have to read through the manual, which is kind of lengthy, and it was hard to find what I was looking for for basic set up. So be prepared to have a highlighter on hand and highlight those areas that you will use a lot for basic operation, so you can find them again easily.oregondesperado

Charge the collar prior to using on your dog. Follow instructions included with the unit. Easy setup. My dog, a Plott hound who is quite vocal, learned to stop barking using the auto rise setting. Bark odometer nice feature to determine how often the unit provides correction. Noted less corrections the more Jax wore the collar. May try just vibration setting when corrections minimal. BarkLimiter Deluxe rocks! Works!Mark S
This is an amazing product as long as it is used properly with verbal training. Two of my dogs were trained with these by a professional trainer. He advised me to train the rest of my dogs with them and have them on hand so my dogs wouldn't regress. Basically all I have to do is tell them (I have 4 hunting dogs) to quiet down and show them the collars now and immediately then listen. If not I put them on, but that is rare and only if there are rabbits outside they want to get at. When I started training I started with verbal command and then put the collar on when they wouldn't listen. Rarely did they need more than vibration to stop. It took a total of 3 weeks to train them to listen to verbal commands. When you have 4 dogs in the house it's important be able to have control. This product helps achieve that!jennifer.c
I assume this collar works. However, I believe my dog has learned from past collars that a shake of the head will move the tightest collar just far enough off center to lessen the shock. Either that or he just sucks it up and keeps barking. I've turned it up to the highest and it only reduces his barking by maybe 5% . It blinks and registers the correction, but apparently he's not suffering enough to quit all together. So I am not sure if the problem is him or the collar. I would suggest the vendor change the collar to add a non slip material instead of the slick shiny stuff they currently use. That might stop the "shake off".ShellyB
