The directions were weak and adapter ( for large Igloo Dog house} didn't match properly. Had to go on to YouTube to figure out how to make it work. The Igloo is a constant curve making something that is not built for the curve turns into a little more work. The adapter did not compensate for the curve but I did get it installed and I am happy with it and my dog is also. The heat shield needs to be a little lager and more reflective the outside of the dog house gets hotter than I personally would like. I would still recommend it.cmswin
The bracket is supposed to fit an igloo style dog house. The dog house is curved the bracket is flat which makes it difficult to drill mounting holes for the bracket. The mounting holes on the heater were not in the correct location for the bracket (had to drill bracket for heater mounting). It came with a heat shield that did not mount correctly. Bought this for our older dog who now has to contend with the younger one pulling bedding out to position into sun. Now bedding stays in house, dogs prefer dog house now and they even smell better, not that musty smell. Extremely happy customer here. One of those products I should have bought earlier. Purchased the hound heater to place in a insulated dog house in my outside 4 dog kennel in Michigan. Had a below zero cold spell, but the dogs were tucked inside sleeping any time we went to check on them. Warm and dry. I installed it myself without a problem. Pleasantly surprised at how much warmer the dog house is! We put our dogs out in kennels when we leave the house and they already have heating pads in their houses, but this makes it even cozier! Ohio winters get cold, so this should keep them even more comfortable when they have to be outside. Only thing I wish was the control was easier to get at to turn it up and down. Its at the top of the unit and once installed, you cant see it, unless u have a roof that comes off. Make sure you have some sort of door over the opening to keep heat in. Has a long cord as well.chiss1
I was apprehensive about this product during the ordering but found that it works better than I could have imagined. My dog loves her insulated dog house with this unit on in the cold weather. She may stay in our house or go outside throughout the day and chooses to stay outside due to the warm refuge of HER box. This was never the case until we purchased this heater. We live in western Pa. and can get some bitter weather. I would recommend this to anyone especially if you own a needy dog such as we do. Also, the heater will not come back in when the power comes back in so forget about using a timer between the outlet and the heater plug. Just installed my new Hot Dawg 125K heater in my 36×36 shop. Hardest part of the installation was just getting the unit up and secured into place. Finally figured out how to rig a chain fall up and lifted it into place easily then. Checked gas pressures, electrical connections, and vented it. Turned gas on, flipped the thermostat on and Click (flipping the toggle switch next to the thermostat) – whirrrrrr (purge fan inside heater) – another soft click (gas valve opening) – shusssh (ignition)- more whirrrr (big fan) and hot air fills the shop. It's ALIVE! I love it!I did have one problem when wiring the thermostat to the circuit board. I own probably 40 different screw drivers of all sizes, shapes, and descriptions. None of them would fit between the gas valve and the wiring connections on the circuit board. Finally had to remove the circuit board in order to get a screw driver in to tighten the wire connections for the thermostat. Not a big deal for me but Modine needs to take a look at this.This heater replaces an older Empire unit heater that has given me problems every since I bought the thing. I live in a northern tier state, at 3600 feet elevation, and winter cold is Oct-April, so trouble free heating is paramount. Very simple to hang/install. The most important aspect of this type heater is to ensure you FOLLOW THE INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS, particularly the part of adjusting the gas valve! This requires a manometer, but DO IT! Otherwise efficiency and longevity is compromised. The most common parts that fail on these type heaters are the circuit boards, and the hot surface igniters…. If you depend on the heater, it would be wise to keep a spare of each at the ready. QC Supply is to be commended for the outstanding packing job! The heater was very well protected during shipping, and arrived in perfect condition.Anonymous

It was professionally installed by a Modine dealer in this area (didn't know we had one or would have purchased directly from them) in January 2019 and it worked until mid February 2019. I contacted the installer and he found that the pressure switch hose fell off. He reinstalled the hose and it fell off two weeks later. He came out again charged $75 for the trip and glued it on so it could not come off again and it hasn't. I did some research and found out Modine had issued a tech service bulletin in February 2019 due to defective hose supplier. QC Supply was not aware of this issue however they did research it and sent a new hose which I have not had to use. On February 3rd, 2020 the heater quit working. I checked the hose it was not off so I called the heating contractor and they came out and replaced the Modine flame roll out sensor switch. I now have $1015.35 in the unit and accessories, $526.87 original installation, $75.00 hose reattachment (I was not charged for the first reattachment visit) and now another $283.14 for repairs done this month. Not sure if $1899 is a good value for this unit for only having it one year.Anonymous

Bought this for our 7 month old Pyrador puppy, who has already outgrown one house. It was easy to put together, and the sturdist dog house we've ever seen. Plus being insulated is perfect for a cold Indiana winter. She's huge and still growing and loves it. The first night she slept in front of it despite dog treats inside. It’s a great doghouse. He’s already tried chewing the top roof corners off but it hasn’t hurt the integrity of the house. He also won’t get in it. I’m not sure why, because he did get in his crate when it was in his dog pen. He’s a 9 month old GSP. I’m hopeful once he reaches adulthood he’ll stop eating it and actually get in it. I’d totally buy it again though. It’s a great doghouse! I just have a strange dog. He also can’t get on top of it because there isn’t any grip and he slides off. That helps with him not jumping out of the 6’ tall pen.
We got this house for a new Boxador puppy so that it can spend most of its time outside. We found it to be a good product. It was easy to put together and does stay much warmer than the outside air. In rainy weather, it stays dry. It is a very large house which would work for a lab or other large dog. No problems with the dog using the door. Only suggestion: add nuts and bolts for the 6 screws. Screwing metal into plastic is not a real good plan. I'm assuming the company will have replacement parts (door, window, etc…) available for my investment!Y Robinson

The bed is well construction and just what we needed for our cat. However, the bottom pad, which is very nice, made it difficult for our large car to get into once we put the pet heating element in the bed. We solved the problem by putting the pad under the bed, inserting the pet heating element in the bed (after I covered it with a with a soft, heavy duty material). The cat loves the low level heat and spends hours in his bed as the winter in our area is one of the coldest in years. To keep the bed stable when putting the pad under the bed, we put the bed in a low cardboard box which keeps it from sliding off the pad. Although I'm not a 'verified purchaser' on the Petco site, I have had this bed for my 10lb chihuahua — purchased directly from K&H and it's still working strong. Some people are reviewing that the bed doesn't get warm. Keep in mind, the bed is weight sensitive, and won't heat up until there is weight on it — so putting your hand on it to check will not produce heat until your furbaby actually lays on it. Others question how to 'wrap' it. I place a large mid-weight blanket on his bed — with one half covering the bottom of the bed, and the other half hanging over the side. I then place the bed warmer on the blanket, then fold/flip the remaining part of the blanket over the warmer (like a taco) then tuck it in around the edges so the bed warmer never touches or gets exposed to his skin (or his bed itself, it is wrapped fully in the blanket. You may have to experiment with different blanket weights and thicknesses to find one that you feel produces the 'right' amount of heat for your pet). On super cold days, it's fun to watch him get on his bed, and within minutes of it warming up he has 'slits for eyes' b/c he's so cozy and comfy. 🙂 2022/2023 winter will be his 4th year of using this mat, and it has been great to keep my little guy warm and toasty during cold Ohio winters.pancho36

I love this little propane heater. It Will especially come in handy right now with all the temp drops. It puts out a decent amount of heat for how small it is. And pretty convenient to use with the small tanks. The adjustment thing is good too and the handle makes it easily portable. The color of it is nice too considering your standard propane heater is white because it’s mainly just the tank. I can’t wait to use it outside as well. Received this and hooked it up to a one pound bottle. The low setting sputters and snaps, almost to the point of going out. The high setting works steady and burns smooth, but puts out minimal heat. It’s two days before the holidays and I’ll contact the mfgr as soon as possible after Christmas and see what they recommend. I will hopefully be able to update my review at that time. All in all, looks like a very sturdy little heater. We intend to use it in a screen/enclosed tent in the desert where my wife does crafts to just take the chill off. This propane heater is great for a small area. It will heat appropriately 225 square feet. It is excellent for camping, tailgating, workshops, garages or other well ventilated areas. Do not use it indoors without proper ventilation. It is light weight (it only weighs about 6 lbs with the propane tank, it uses 1 lb propane cylinders (not included). It has a convenient handle for easy transport. It has a pilot light and spark ignition. The burner actually tilts up and down to direct the heat where you want it. I bought it for my old dog's house, I put a sheepskin in there but it still needed more heat, This worked perfectly in our outdoor dog house. At -15°C the inside of the house was 0°C. We mounted it on the ceiling which was at a 75° angle and it worked perfectly. This heater on Low gets very hot to the touch. I would not mount it on the side of a dog house where a dog could fall asleep on it. I bought a remote digital thermometer so I could monitor the temperature in there. It gave me such peace of mind knowing my old girl was warm and safe. PS, use sheepskins in the dog's house, the skin part prevents moisture from passing through into their bodies!LHunt
I bought this product at the start of winter last year. I have a dog house for my 18yo feral cat outside. She has a heating pad she sleeps on but I added this to the back of the house. These are nice dog houses. They are light weight & don't look like they are very warm, but they actually do a good job, my border collies like these a lot. I bought my first about 20 years ago, then shortly after bought another. My dogs passed, so I gave them to a neighbor, which still has them in use. I recently got a medium breed puppy, so I went and got another since I had such good service out of the first two. I would highly recommend to anyone with a pet outside. We get some snow where I live and my dogs always stayed warm and dry.
I mistakenly bought the Large doghouse for dogs up to 90 lbs. But my 5 month old coonhound was too large for it. I returned it and ordered the X-large doghouse and it is the right size. Unfortunately, the doghouse was broken in two places, probably due to the way you ship. These doghouses are delivered without any protection and will crack or break when sliding into anything. I will have to repair it to hold it together since I don't trust you are able to send another one without the same issues.Daniel

2018 CanAm Defender. This kit will have you cussing and throwing tools across the garage. There is no room where they want you to install the blower unit. You have to crush the vent hoses up into the electrical buss bars under the dash. When you finally get it up where they want it bolted in it still bulges the lower dash out. It’s just a matter of time before the wire in those hoses wears through and shorts something out. I called Rough Country to get help or pointers on installation. They told me they can’t advise how to install their product. Worst of all I modified my dash for this kit and it barely heats the cab up. I’m extremely dissatisfied!
