My avid little mouser cat caught herself a little prize just a few days before a month-prior planned trip my husband and i were unavoidably about to go to. Apparently that mouse had bitten her back in the process, right on her tender little lip cleft! Before we knew it, that bite had gotten infected so bad she became lethargic, her face swollen an angry shade of red, she could not eat or even drink on her own and she could not even close her mouth and was drooling on herself. Because of the covid situation and proximity of timing to our trip to see family, there was no way to get her to a vet in time before we had to leave in 3-4 days. So we did the best we could with a dropper to feed and water her and rushed out to get Vetericyn to help stave off the infection which reduced the angry redness to a healthier pinkish. For the very few days we had before we had to go, I was keeping her hydrated and was spraying her face with the Vetericyn regularly (as directed) even as we headed out the door with one last treatment. We did cut our weekend trip short by a day out of concern for her, but when we came back she was doing significantly better in that the swelling was down, but was reddened again. Back to the spray treatment, make sure she got dropper-watered, and by that evening she was gingerly back to parking in her 'askance' spot hoping for bits of our chicken dinner! Using this for hot spots on my canine, this stuff does work but it sometimes can take up to 2 8oz. Bottles to heal the area's treated. Not sure if it's the strength of medicine or just those stubborn spots. I caught the spots early on and started treating them immediately and have been treating them for a month now and they are getting better but slowly, these things are stubborn. I can say that absolutely nothing else I tried worked. Believe it or not, I read online the other day that rubbing Pepto Bismol on hot spots actually works, you heard right, Pepto Bismol. I haven't had the nerve to try it as I thought it could just be some nut trying to infect your pet even worse. My German shepherd is 13 years old and past few years she's had such a hard time with her left leg. It started even given out on her and she would fall, she got to where it was a battle for her to even stand up at times. Completely broke my heart. Our six-year old, combination golden retriever/black lab was a trooper. Between my wife and me it would put on 5 to 10 miles/day. About a year ago it started developing a limp, which worsened over time until he couldn't run and was reluctant to walk more than a couple of miles. Our vet tried two different anit-inflamatories before discovering it was not his paw but shoulder instability (uneven gap in joint). They couldn't do anything for it, and refered us to a surgeon in the nearest city. She looked at the x-ray and said she couldn't help, and suggested we try the University of MN clinic 5 hours away, saying they "may" be able to do something. Out of desperation, I figured I would try the Glycoflex 3 our vet gave us. After about two weeks the limp was noticeably better, and a little more than 2 months out he's been limp free for the last month. He's back to no limitations on exercising. It's fantastic to know he's no longer in pain, and we have our old Ruckus back. If I were reading this I would think it too good to be true because the science on glucosamine is quite ambiguous in humans. Now I'm all in on this stuff; I just ordered two bottles.borealguy

I received a sample of these Glycoflex plus for cats through the viewpoints sampling program. Prior to receiving these supplements, I was not familiar with the brand or supplements. I have never previously used any kind of supplement for my cat. But I was excited to try these out because my cat Momo is getting older and I liked how the package claimed the promote joint health in cats. I gave Momo the recommended dosage on the package. He seemed to like the taste and ate it with no problem. He begged for more but I gave him only the recommended dosage so they must taste like treats. Momo has been taking them for a few days now so I can't really determine the long term effects of these supplements on his joints but I have not noticed any negative side effects so that's a plus. I will continue to give these to him because my vet said he showed some sensitivity in his joints (probably from being overweight most of his life prior to me adopting him). So I would definitely buy these again if they continue to work so I can keep Momo healthy for as long as possible. This Isis the best stuff ever. It helped out my German Shepard that was full of skin soars and now is all clear and has healthily skin and a beautiful coat now. She takes these everyday and loves the flavor. I would highly reccomend them for any dog that has allergies. They are a life saver. They work so well. I went thru so many dog foods and vitamins to find out that this vitamin works best for my dog and now I give it to all my dogs. It makes their coat shiny and another thing when my German Shepard sheds her hair she hardly sheds like she used to. I adopted two very rambunctious puppies and bought many bottles of Grannick's Bitter Apple to deter them from chewing on things like furniture, shoes, etc. I tried other deterrents as well as puppy chew toys. In my opinion, Grannick's works the best. I gave this product four stars because the pump strayer was defective on a several bottles and did not spray. The liquid just dribbled out. I had to buy a spray bottle to properly apply it. Note: The product may stain. I used it anyway because I did not want the puppies to destroy my sofa. Also, I had to reapply it until my puppies learned that my sofa tastes bad and puppy chew toys taste good. Prior to the puppies, I used Grannick's Bitter Apple on my older dog. You have to do more than just ONE spraying I have two 9 month old Staffordshire Bull Terriers that will eat chew thru anything! Of Couse love my slippers. I took my slippers and spayed heavy where they would pick them up. Then the next day spayed again. Worked! When you spray this stuff it does not leave water marks or anything. I even sprayed my fav pair of suede leather Merrils to protect them. Now I am having to spray blankets on the bed, yep they chew thru these. Leaves no smell to me unless of Course just done and put my nose to the item. Just in case- some of my fav slippers that I now leave on the floor just in case I give them a light spray once a week or so. These bottles are large and the liquid goes a long ways.giving you Lots of treatments. So if the first sprays do not work have some common since and spray again. I love my Staffies but admit they are little heathens when it comes to chewing up items. And yes They also have cow hooves and Antlers bones but still love material. Before this product of Bitters lost of my sofa side. Spayed using this 3 times on the edge they are no longer going to it. So the stuff works but you must do the work to spray more than once. I can't say enough good things about Simparica! Our other flea and tick meds only covered a limited number of tick species which we originally didn't know. One trip to visit my parents on their farm and we were pulling off easily 20 ticks per dog. We went back to our vet and asked for something with Fuller coverage and she recommended we use Simparica Trio to cover flea, tick, heartworm, and other worms. In the two years that we've used Simparica Trio, we have yet to find a live tick on the dogs or deal with fleas. Occasionally we will find a dead tick on the floor, but that's the extent of our tick problem now.christina.r

I do not recommend Simparica or any other heartworm, flea and tick medications. This nearly killed my dog after the 2nd dose. My dog suffered seizures and I blame myself as I read that on the packet that it can cause seizures and or nuerological disorders. but thought it won't happen. I thought it may be a good idea for him (after 7 years of no medications and he was fine). ** Keep away from these**. There are holistic methods to keep your dog healthy and free of ticks, heartworm and fleas. I pray no dog will encounter what my dog did. He didn't deserve it and now completely off this and finally weaning him off anti-seizure medications. Keeping it holistic and working fine. Actually, better than fine and he is 9 years old. Beware of Simparica, Nexguard and all those poisons. They don't need it.soraya.h

So far so good! A few months ago we switched from using a combination of Nexguard and Triheart to using just Simparica. Our vet, a person in my life I trust 100%, highly recommended it. It’s simpler, more cost effective, all around a better option I feel. The dogs eat it without any issue. It’s easier for us to have just one thing to give them instead of two. Not a huge deal but we have multiple dogs of different sizes and on different strengths so we have to be careful we give the correct dose and it’s already a circus on this house. My senior Sheltie has been on a daily regime of the Moderate Care Hip Flex. I praise this product, because not only has this supplement eased the aches and pains of an aging dog, but my dog also really loves the taste. I don't worry about having to dress her meals up, which is a delight. She will eat her supplement with no fuss! Her brewer's yeast always needs fish oil on top, but not her Hip Flex. I have also noticed she is less stiff (this is a year and a half of use). Her limp, which is slight, is unnoticeable most days. My dog was diagnosed with degenerative arthritis, one winter after she slipped on the porch and could not place weight on her hind leg. She had been on the vetprofin and a few other anti-inflammatory meds with no improvement; I saw these while grabbing a bag of food one day, and I've never looked back. My dog absolutely loves these Pet-zels. I think they're absolutely adorable and they smell good too. They're the perfect size for my furbaby, he's just a little over 11lbs. I gave him just one to begin with to see if he liked it and he scarfed it down like he hadn't eaten all day. They look like a real pretzel so you should make sure they stay in the labeled container. The reuseable, resealable container is really nice too. Only downside is that now my dog doesn't want any other type of treat.SB1985

I love this product! First of all there is something appealing about a dog product that looks like a human product! I dont know why, maybe its a bit funny. Anyways if you didnt know any better the packaging and treats themselves look just like peanut butter filled human pretzels. I love the container, as it has a screw on and off lid to keep them fresh. Most of the pretzels are intact, however I did find some broken up. Both of my large dogs LOVE them. One of them carries it around for a little while and likes to savor it, while the other eats in right away (and actually chews instead of swallowing whole). I have recently been taking in foster dogs to help my friend's dog rescue and these treats have been a huge hit with the four foster dogs we have. Every time that they come in to the kitchen and see this treat container they all like to paw or bark at me to give them a treat. That alone tells me how much they enjoy these treats, as they get one almost daily. I love how big this container is at 24 ounces, it is a nice big size and lasts for a good while. These treats have real peanut butter in them with a pretzel outside. I like that they are both crunchy as well as soft, because my dogs really enjoy both kinds of treats. They are a great size and my dogs can easily enjoy and chew them without choking on them, and they also do not make a mess when eating these. I think they are the perfect size honestly and wish other companies would make their treats this size. My favorite part is that the container says how many calories each treat is, and that is important because two of my dogs are overweight and need diet restrictions. I have recommended these to all my furry animal moms and dads as these treats have been a real favorite of mine and my dogs. I enjoy giving them such healthy great tasting treats, my dogs beg for them each time. The container is really handy and keeps the treats fresh and also keeps moisture out of the treats. I have to mention, these also smell pretty good and are not pungent like most dog treats that we have tried in the past. I highly recommend these and will continue to treat my dogs with these.klynmm

I live in a crazy flea ridden area. Southern swamp fleas are really tough to keep away. If you've got the money, go with Nexgard. We don't, so we tried this product out. It works just as well as Frontline, which here, isn't wonderfully but good enough. When we lived in IL Frontline was plenty. We also wash pet bedding often, and use food grade diatomaceous earth. You've eaten it many times without realizing, farmers use it on wheat and other crops to kill destructive insects (caterpillars and other wormies with exoskeletons). This is a very safe method for killing adult fleas, hopefully before they can lay eggs. Don't buy the pool stuff, get food grade. Sprinkle it on the carpet before vacuuming. Once fleas come into contact with it, they die within 4 hours – it slices up their exoskeletons. Obviously we can't coat every flea, but doing this regularly really cuts down on the problem (nyuk) and is much safer than harsh chemicals – plus, no smell. Just like talcum powder, flour, and other particulates, avoid breathing it in, as it can be an irritant to your and your pet's lungs (no tossing it in the air and dancing under it naked, but a little shouldn't hurt). For those hard to vacuum areas like under furniture, sprinkle a bit and leave it. There are also these bulb things you can buy to spread the dust more evenly, but it's cheap so we just use a sifter or shaker bottle with small holes. We killed them inside, but they kept reappearing. We realized we have a screened in porch with sand and gravel right outside the back door. Fleas love that stuff. Sprinkled it in the gravel and added the porch to the regular DE routine and now it's unusual to find those devils. Our dog has bad allergies to fleas, so they still irritate him but once they've bitten him they're kaput. Good luck! And if you life in the Southeast, my sympathies to your poor doggie!L.C.

Tried this on my dog that not only has sensitive skin , but also goes insane when bitten by a flea. Scratches and rubs herself raw and hair free in spots all over. Baths and dips made no improvement. Started using this a couple years ago and couldn't be more satisfied. I haven't noticed any side effects and she is significantly more comfortable. I know when its time to retreat. At around 4 weeks ish she is seen beginning to scratch and rub her back on the coffee table again. Retreat and all is good again.Skankhunt42

I have used Fiproguard Max for three years and have been completely satisfied then it was discontinued and replaced with Fiproguard Plus. Thanks to that I have been fighting a flea problem on my dogs and in my house!! Imagine sitting on your couch with your dog and a flea jumps on your arm, then you find them all over your dog! Mad dash to the store to buy (more $$) flea killer shampoos, sprays . Wash the dogs, all the bedding and soft furnishings, spray the house from top to bottom and guess what? In two days they're back! Finally had to get my house fumigated, (more $$) research other flea prevention products (more time) and get my dogs treated with a new product. I am SO mad!! Why on earth did they have to change the formula? This spray works!!! I have a bull dog puppy that loves to chew on everything he should not! I bought two bottles one for home and one for the office as I take him to work with me. No more chewing on the dining room table, my office chair or mist dangerously electrical cords!! Keep in mind that the spray is not effective after it has dried. If you puppy like to chew on your hand spray a little on your hand, one taste and he wont anymore. I have tried other sprays this one WORKS!! I bought this on advice of a trainer, who said o spray it on a cotton ball or wadded up paper towel, then rub it on my puppy's tongue, so he'd know how bad it tastes. Then, he'd keep off anything that tasted like it. Instead, my black standard golden doodle liked it! I think my dog is weird. He also likes jalapeno peppers (he scarfed one down, that I'd dropped on the floor before I could get it, then wanted more) and lemon slices (the toddler grabbed on, tasted it, made a face, then gave it to the puppy, who loved it). Like I said, weird dog. I'm really looking forward to what this puppy does next! But, so I know where he is, I'm keeping him on a leash indoors, to gently pull him off the furniture (he chewed the bottom edge of my coffee table when no one was looking) and so he can't hide-the end of the leash will give away where he is, and that he's no doubt up to something! BTW, wear gloves when you use this spray. I didn't, and got it on my fingers, then it got onto my lips. I think I had the taste in my mouth for 4 days!Carys

I was on frontline for years but when I thought I saw a couple fleas on my dogs in September 2020, I decided to make a switch to Advantage II for my cats and Advantix II for my dogs— BIGGEST mistake of my life (seriously, like over any horrible exes). I have $515.97 in receipts I submitted to the company (which was as horrible as the experience, which I will get to) and spent an additional $70 in store (in which I cannot find the receipt) since September 2020 to December. I followed every tip on the website and insert and my animals were still covered. I applied perfectly. I applied initially weekly, vacuum daily, steam cleaned, wash bedding constantly, etc. I don’t even have carpet but on the stairs and have treated the stairs and couches with Predcor. I even bought those flea traps with the sticky bottoms. I am not including any of this in that total I spent– that was all on the flea medications themselves for the 6 animals. I have saved some, not all, of the vials so on 11/13 I called Elanco. They denied my request for any type of refund. They questioned my exact dosage dates and frequency more than a doctor wants to know about your menstrual cycles but I took my best guesses, for all 6 animals although I did know what schedule they were on but didn't have it in front of me. Then they said that the product was probably not working because I bathed my dogs initially at the beginning 48 hours before application?? Their website TELLS you to bathe them before application (see 2nd screenshot posted)! I stopped bathing them after the 2nd application as it wasn't working and the dogs were miserable and only tried 2 cats (and really only 1 successfully because we all know how that goes). They then told me that I didn't give the product long enough?? Their website states (see 3rd screenshot) and is the same for Advantage II "K9 Advantix® II kills fleas within 12 hours. New fleas that jump on the dog from the surroundings, such as grass, carpet and pet bedding, are killed within 2 hours with protection against further infestation for at least 4 weeks." I tried their products, $600 worth on 6 animals, as scheduled, no missed doses for 4 months. I can’t blame it on just one animal or one batch—it didn’t work on 6, or one batch! I am very upset. Not only have I wasted money on these but I have bought corresponding products, sprays for the beddings, flea traps, etc. I FINALLY called Terminex and had to spend 12 hours clearing out under my beds, closets, getting everything off my floors, moving furniture etc. (time I will never get back) and getting my children and pets out of the house and went back to the brand that works: FRONTLINE! NO MORE FLEAS– what I should have done in the first place. I am so upset not by the fact that the product didn't work but by the way the company handled it, dodging any responsibility from blaming it on the baths they recommend to the length of time I gave it when they could have just refunded me and had someone that isn't going to not only post this review every place I bought it (not just here) but every other place that allows a review to include social media.Intelhottie

We bought Advantix liquid application anti-flea and tick treatment because it is effective, was less expensive and did not require a prescription. We had easily and successfully used liquid Advantix for years with our Plott hound mix. We now have a beagle. Beagle hair is different; it's thick, coarse, oily, kind of water proof and difficult to part in order to properly apply the liquid to the skin. Advantix is a very good product, but pet owners may want to assess their pet's coat to determine how the liquid application could be applied.Gary

My dog was getting ticks so I purchased this. I have used it in the past with great success when it had the Bayer logo on it . The one I received has the Elanco brand logo on it. I used 1 bottle and It was like I used nothing at all. Mind you I walk my dog and when he comes in the house I would find 2 or 3 live ticks walking on him. So I figured ok maybe it didnt work or I didnt wait long enough. After about 10 days of this I applied another bottle and again nothing. He still kept coming in the house with ticks every time. So I'm not sure exactly what's going on but the package I received appeared to be authentic. All serial numbers matched and packages were sealed well. Never had this happen before but definitely going back to Frontline Plus.kschoern

I have two of these balls, one in each size. For my 60 lbs. pit bulls I would recommend the larger, unless you're using a high reward treat (like jerky as opposed to kibble). I serve at least some of my dog's meals in a ball and he chases it around for quite a while. The only downside is it is pretty noisy on the hardwood floors or tile. Also be sure nothing too fragile might get in the way. He accidentally broke a vase that he ran into while chasing the ball across the living room. It's probably my dog's favorite solo activity. Would definitely recommend to any food motivated dog.2pitmama

Our Chihauhua gets bored when we're gone during the day, and when he gets bored, he eats carpet. We had a few food toys, and they worked great, but he was getting bored with them and he had figured out all of them, so we purchased two more to help keep him busy. We purchased the medium IQ ball, and he LOVES it. We have carpeting, and the first day we played with it with him when we were home and he caught on very quickly. We have to put his dog food, and small treats in there for him. If we place just the regular food, he isn't interested. We crumble up a few treats, and he loves to roll the ball and "gamble" to get a yummy treat. When we go to leave the house he just sits and waits for us to put this toy down, and he is playing with it before we even close the door. Our chihuahua had figured out his old toys, so we purchased this one because we thought it was a puzzle inside which can be made harder. The opening can be set to harder or easier, but there isn't a puzzle inside like the other toy we purchased.There are two holes for the food to travel through. The first hole is settable in size, and brings the food into that clear colored area where they have to then push it out a second, non-size changeable hole. That said, he still loved it and since the first hole can be made smaller, it's still challenging enough for him. It's working great and we aren't even on the hardest setting yet after two months. Our Chihuahua is 10lbs lean, so it's great for a dog his size. I would have given this product a 5 star if I had known there wasn't a puzzle when I purchased it. The way I understood it, there was puzzle traps inside to make it more difficult. Great toy though.Chihuahua Mom

Our dog loves these! He is a shiba inu and those who know shibas know they can be hard to please and very picky. These are his absolute favorite and he will do anything for a taste of these. He loves the strong flavorful punch these trainer treats have and I love that I know exactly what I’m giving him. Simple ingredients with a powerful flavor he can’t resist. I have 3 large dogs ranging in age from 1 to 10 years. The oldest one has some allery issues with itchy skin, and the youngest has digestive issues. Since gut health and immunity is important, and can decline with age, I think a prebiotic/probiotic supplement for dogs is a good idea. I like that it has a prebiotic and probiotic. This type of supplement is important for fighting inflammation and allergies, which is why I take one myself. Zesty Paws Advanced Allergy Immune Supplement seems like a good bet and I was pleased that all three dogs enjoyed eating it as if it were a treat. They have not bene taking it long enough to fully determine how well it works, but happily my older gy has had no skin issues while on it and my youngest has had no digestive issues.scrunchypickle

I have a puppy pit bull/lab mix who has seasonal itchy eyes. We have tried OTC allergy eye drops recommended by our vet which gave him minimal relief. I was very eager for him to try the Zesty Paws Aller-Immune puppy bites. Each bite is a cute heart-shaped lamb flavor "treat." That's exactly how my dog views taking these- a treat! Compared to trying to wrestle him to get his eye drops in- much easier. He has been on them for about a month now and I have noticed a decrease in his itching. It is also an added bonus that it supports his immune system and gut health.
